Favourite Pokémon, runners up and least favourite Pokémon from each generation as of the 26th of February 2024
Gen 1: Favourites: Mewtwo, Flareon, Ninetales. Runners up: well I already have three competing for best so yeah idk. Least favourite: Fearow
Gen 2: Favourite: not sure. Runners up: I can’t even think of a favourite. Least favourite: Croconaw (okay Totodile is at least a little bit cute and Feraligatr is alright but there’s nothing that really balances out the negatives of Croconaw. I still don’t like this line though)
Gen 3: Favourite: Absol??? There are so many good ones. Runners up: Luvdisc, Gardevoir, Delcatty, Altaria, Lunatone, Blaziken *proceeds to list over half of all Hoenn Pokémon*
Gen 4: Favourite: Lucario. Runners up: Glaceon, Leafeon *lists half of the cross-Gen evos + the Skorupi line*. Least favourite: Chimchar
Gen 5: Favourite: Audino. Runners up: Musharna, Lillipup line, a few others. Least favourite: okay turns out the only Pokémon this Gen I actively dislike is Basculin
Gen 6: Favourite: Delphox. Runners up: Aromatisse, entire Chespin Line, rest of the Fennekin line, probably more. Least favourite: Binacle/Barbaricle
Gen 7: Favourite: Dawn Wings Necrozma. Runners up: Lunala, Oricorio, Primarina. Least favourite: Bruxish
Gen 8: Favourite: Cinderace/Hatterene/Hisuian Typhlosion. Runners up: Rillaboom, Inteleon, Thwacky, Raboot, Drizzile, Corviknight, Flapple, Appletun, Hisuian Liligant, Sneasler, Origin Dialga, Origin Palkia. Least favourite: again, not many but I think it has to be Basculegion. You took the already dull Basculin and turned it into an old man. If Skeledirge has taught me one thing, it’s that the old man look doesn’t make a cool Pokémon
Gen 9: Favourite: Best Pokémon Iron Leaves my beloved. I was gonna call Second Best Pokémon Walking Wake a runner up but I’ve been so generous with the runners up I’ll call it a favourite. Runners up: Gouging Fire, Iron Boulder, Meowscarada, Ceruledge, Quaquaval, Armarouge, basically every Future Paradox Pokémon except Treads and Thorns, Scream Tail and Flutter Mane, Sandy Shocks, Terapagos, many more. Least favourite: Skeledirge
