BTHB: Missing And Presumed Dead with Odrin

CWs: Villain whumper, Hero whumpee, Hero presumed dead, Forced to listen, Sensory deprivation to force to listen, Minor character deaths, Past horn whump, Hero temporarily giving up

Note: Canon! Also Frostbite and Frostburn are both referring to Odrin, Cannibeelistic is referring to Bebê! Spoken sentences that are italicized are spoken by random people! Also, this is a very experimental piece, so thoughts on it would be appreciated!

Bebê uses they/he (they/them are used for this) Odrin uses he/it (he/him are used for this) ~~~~ Odrin’s breaths were heavy as he was forced to stare into darkness due to the blindfold around his eyes.

The only thing he could focus on was the sound of footsteps and muttering coming from the headphones on his ears.

“Have you seen Frostburn lately? It’s unnerving that he hasn’t been around lately.”

“Didn’t you hear? He got captured.”

“Captured?! By who? By what? What could even capture him?”

“Who else? Cannibeelistic!”

“No way! You listen too much to rumors.”“I’m serious!”

The voices and conversation snippets of citizens were just making him want to fight to try to escape even more, is that what Bebê wanted?? More of a challenge?

The sound of their occasional humming was almost enough to drive him mad. He could feel his breaths getting colder.

The sound of a bell ringing felt piercing to his ears.

“Hello! Welcome to- Oh no..”

“Hello~!” The fae’s chipper tone made him grit his teeth.

Various mutters and whispers could be heard.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry! I’m just looking for some information, gossip, rumors, what have you! Just give me what I ask for and everyone will leave here without a scratch! Understand?” A snap of fingers could be heard.

What the fuck were they doing?

“What could we know that you don’t?”

“Gossip on the hero!! What’s his name again?... Frozen bone?”

“Frostbite.” “Yes that one. See, I’m missing my little play thing! So.. Where is he? What have you heard?”

What a fucking liar, they knew exactly where he was. What’s the point of this?

There’s silence for a brief moment before the sound of choking could be heard along with sounds of panic.

“Don’t hold back on me now! I want the truth, and I don’t like things being held back from me!”

There is a gasp and coughing. “Okay! Okay!”

“Well? Out with it then!”

“A lot of people.. Think that you captured him. Some think he just.. Disappeared, or gave up hero work to be with his daughter.” The person sounded like they were struggling to speak.

“Now we’re getting somewhere! Going on the theory that I took him, are there any elaborate guesses regarding that?”

Of course they’d want to focus on that.

“Fuck- I don’t know! Just let me-” Audible choking ends that sentence.

“Well, you’re lying and you bore me now! So! Who’s next?”

There’s silence other than the choking in the background. Choking that made Odrin try to struggle against his restraints again as the metal was getting colder against his skin as a result of his magic.

“You! You look fun!”

A scared yelp was heard. The sound of the choking was getting quieter, weaker.

“You’ve heard rumors, yes?” … “Good! Now answer my question, are there any guesses about Frostbite regarding me?”

“HEY! PUT HIM DO-” A yell and a crash echoes out.

“Guys, I’m just trying to get answers here! You guys are making this far more difficult than it has to be!” … “Now.. Answer. The. Question.”

“Yes, there is.” The voice squeaked out.

“Well.. What are they?”

“That you’ve imprisoned him, or plan to use him for ransom against the town. There’s- um- Well there’s one that-”

“Out with it.”

“There’s one that you and him are in a secret relationship and his disappearance is linked to that!”

Despite mostly having ice powers, Odrin felt his face heat up and gritted his teeth. There was NO way they have-

“HAH!” They snorted and laughed. “If only! Though I will admit, that dragon does have his charm!”

Somehow this torture just got even worse.

“Anything else?”

“There’s the one that he’s dead.”

“DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!” Bebê suddenly yells as there’s the sound of something hitting the ground.

The muttering started again, confusion and fear was clear.

“I was wondering when it would be figured out!”

Screams and various sounds of horror could be heard.

“Well? What do you guys think? Wouldn’t they look just lovely above a fireplace mantle?!” They laughed, and as they laughed it finally sunk in.

He was suddenly very aware of his missing horns, horns that Bebê had meticulously sawed and cut off. They were using them as a trophy.

A trophy to attempt to show that he was dead, an attempt to make people lose hope, an attempt to make him give up.

Everything started to sound like static as thoughts ran through his mind.

Would the people believe Bebê? What if his ex found out and word got to his kid? Would funerals be held for his non-existent death? Would people try to stop fighting against Bebê? Would they try to find a new hero to help them? Would the new hero even care?

The light hitting Odrin’s eyes as the blind fold was suddenly taken off was blinding. His ears rang as the headphones were taken off.

Bebê stood in front of him, blood still staining their hands. “Well Mr Frostbite.. How does it feel to be a dead man?” They cooed.

He didn’t respond. He just stared at them before allowing his eyes to drift back down to the floor.

“Oh please, don’t tell me it was that easy to get you to give up.” They pouted.

No response.

They sighed. “Alright, well. I have an idea, maybe taking someone else to keep alongside you will get the fight back in you.” They say, promptly turning to leave once more.

Odrin couldn’t get himself to respond. He felt exhausted and drained. People believed he was dead, and right now he couldn’t prove Bebê wrong to the public.

Right now.. There were only two people that knew he was alive, and both of them likely would want to keep it that way; and that thought was despairing enough to make him pause. At least.. For a little while.

Thinkin about posting my messy quick whump snippets on to @/obsessedwithegos

rambling below cut

normally i like to try to clean up my writings or make them longer espc bc the snippets i usually make are mainly temporary and just to get the ideas down. So normally it’s only me and 3 of my closest friends seeing them.

But I think it might do my brain some good to allow myself to just post them as is, so my brain knows it’s alright to make messy and short writings sometimes! Not everything has to be clean or make complete sense! And it’d also help me try to get back into the mindset of posting for me and that others don’t have to like it bc that’s just a good mindset to have

I know rn the main ones I got sittin that I wanna share is Mylien’s first encounter with Valen and passing out from blood loss

and Bebê threatening to shoot Odrin but Odrin then offers to trade places with Runa so he can be freed ((Odrin was sent to rescue him)) and it’s mainly just Bebê being kinda creepy w/ their pistol but ya know

those are the main two i got rattling around in my skull like a marble rn shdfshgkjsd

(screenshot from discord bc tumblr wouldn't send it as an ask) Text: Whumper Emmett wants to pluck off Odrin's chest hairs and wax his arm hairs. The wax strips will be pinned to the wall for decoration and the chest hairs will be used to make a paintbrush. He will then gently stroke Odrin's face with the paintbrush (PLEASE MAKE SURE HE'S RESTRAINED) while whispering "Ssssshhhh…it's all natural."

At first the individual plucking of Odrin’s chest hairs is bearable for him, but about 1/4th of the way through he has to start to grit his teeth as soreness starts to build.

After Whumper Emmett is half way done, the dragon lets out a periodical grunt with the more stubborn chest hairs being yanked out.

He watches as this hired ‘hostage sitter’, as Bebê called him, walks behind him before feeling a weird sensation on his forearms as wax strips are applied before more are applied further up his arms.

When the strips are pulled off one by one, more grunts are earned and his hands instinctively flex and react. Luckily Bebê left him tied up, so it’s easy for the other to avoid the sharp claws.

He takes a moment to breathe as Whumper Emmett walks away to start to pin the wax strips up on the wall.

Odrin then watches as the paintbrush is being assembled. When approached with the paintbrush he tries to pull away with a grossed out expression.

“I never thought I’d meet someone that can be just as odd as Bebê..” He muttered, trying to look at the paintbrush as his face was stroked with it.

Are there ways people could possibly canonically whump your characters?

Yes, absolutely! I always try to make space for it as I know personally I love interacting with others whump characters (canonically or non canonically) and I want to provide that opportunity as well! I also have it set up like this to better encourage my own brain to do more whumping as it means I don't have to strictly stay to one specific whumper!

So here's a few ways with different characters!

Mylien (Pre Valen) - He's a cervitaur that lives in Misty Framingher Grove, he often travels outside of the core to explore or to gather ingredients or other things he's requested to get has he has a good direction around the ever twisting and changing forest. He's aware that there are threats such as feral taurs, cruel people in general, and hunters (both sound of mind or undead and magically controlled). Despite this, he easily gets lost in his own head while wondering around. Making him a seemingly easy target.

Archeros - He's widely hated by a lot of people and is indebted to 5 different mobs currently thanks to his dad, Azradel, possessing him and screwing his life over while also making sure there's no trace of Archeros's name in any books or writings that may portray him in a positive light! (exceptions to that are any writings with Archeros's found family as Lixue's magic prevents Azradel's magic from erasing signs of Archeros's existence that they've made.) So literally anyone or anyone who wants to be a mobster could go after him!

Thei - He's the king's partner and second in command! Despite being praised in the Kingdom of Gold, not everyone likes royalty and some people want to go out of their way to hurt King Alistair. Maybe the best way to do that is to hurt Thei instead :3c

Runa - Bebê does torture live streams with Runa where if people donate enough money, they'll fulfill their torture or comfort requests! It's even possible to whump Runa after he's free as his story went viral partially thanks to Maci making a true crime video on him and interviewing him! Those livestreams were dug up, and those pictures Bebê posted early in his captivity with his face bloodied resurfaced!

It's nearly impossible for him to go out in public (even in the ocean around sirens and the rare merfolk) without being recognized.

There's also the model au of Runa where him and Bebê often go out for meet and greets and people can pay to have some alone time to torture or comfort Runa! (there is also another option but that isn't safe to go on this specific blog)

Emil - Tael has a lot of friends that he has come and visit Emil to remind him that he could have it worse, but he also could have it better. It's to remind him that people are unpredictable and so he's lucky to be stuck with him as at least he's mostly predictable. But if Tael is feeling awfully cruel, he'll just drop Emil off with one of his friends and let them go off on him as long as they don't kill him!

Kira - Kira spent a year and a half with Collectors who were allowed to be cruel to them under 2 circumstances. 1) Don't damage their wings and 2) Don't kill them. They had grown used to having their hair cut and their blood drawn, ironic how a vampire is a blood bag itself, huh? Any new collectors will be warned to not mistake their passiveness for them being tame!

Camille / Angel - [Note that it doesn't yet have any content, so here’s it’s picrew (hunbloom) ] After falling from heaven, Angel willingly became a pet in search of finding someone to look up to for directions and control and to admire.

Before it ends up with Bebê, Angel was moved from owner to owner often being found to be too clingy and too happy to serve that it was somewhat unsettling to some.

One owner went as far as to turn it into a gargoyle so it couldn’t move or talk but it could still watch over and protect the house. The past owner even broken pieces of it off, like it’s mouth, just to ensure it’s silence.

Angel regained it’s form, now with grey skin with patches where the once broken and missing pieces of stone were, when it was sold to it’s next owner. Who knows how many more owners it was passed along to before ending up with Bebê, though it has all the time in the world as it is immortal.

~Non whumpee specific~

Cade - Cade gets trapped by werewolf hunters every now and then, while not in the current time in the general story the werewolf hunter tag is used when people wish to torment Cade while he has to wait to be picked up by his teammates. (Who may or may not have been delayed purposefully by other werewolf hunters keeping them busy.) Two rules. Don't kill the werewolf, and don't maim the werewolf. Feel free to use the healing potions to help heal him faster, but do be aware it can't regrow full limbs. (It can regrow teeth, ears, fingers, etc though :3c)

Odrin - Odrin is a dragon that does hero work! While the main villain he fights against is Bebê, his hero duties and villain fighting is able to be split up among other villains. After all, what hero hasn't been kidnapped a few times?

Florance - A manticore who runs his own clinic and who's wife is a mob boss! He's unaware of what her job is and he's gotten in trouble a few times due to his own absentmindedness, it's surprisingly difficult to get it into his skull when he's being held for ransom or if he's only being captured to just be beaten up.

Valen - A snow leopard felitaur who seems to be a rumor among sound of mind hunters that have managed to survive and return from Misty Framingher Grove. A felitaur with such bright eyes and wonderful looking fur, not to mention how his scars make it seem as if the skin under the fur was one half pink and one half green, he'd certainly be quite the trophy if anyone could manage to down him. It'd be much more impressive if they could catch him alive as it's said that he seems to have a sort of resistance to tranquilizers.

For your character's with more... Elaborate and unusual physical forms, how would the hypothetically react to a young child seeing them and starting to cry?

Going with the ones who’s forms match that description normally and not the ones who actively have to change into a form that matches the description! For Unusual I also included unusual species (Albion being an alicorn and Gerolt being a naga) or unusual heights (Ladies Lucks both being 8'2 and Luci being anywhere from 9'0 to 12'0)

The sound of a crying child rings out throughout the streets, causing heads to turn to see what the cause of the commotion is.

Fluffers’s head turns to look around out of brief panic before she focuses back on the child. She was only used to trying to help the one that she was bonded to and not a random kid.

She opens her mouth to speak to try to soothe the child but upon seeing her sharp teeth and the gaps in her cheeks further exposing even more teeth, the child cries even more.

She would be better suited to try to comfort if people weren’t staring.

“Fluffers, what about your stuffie?” Sam asks, holding up the plush lamb that Fluffers used as a vessel most of the time.

She doesn’t waste any time returning to the vessel, not wanting to further upset the kid.

Luckily Sam is able to help calm the kid down by talking to them.

CW for actively causing further distress for a child

Shadow stares down at the sobbing child, briefly quiet for just a moment. Her slack jaw doesn’t move as laughter rips out from her unused vocal cords.

She finds the child’s fear hilarious. One of her giant clawed hands lands directly beside them as she has to balance herself as a result of this laughing fit.

The ground shakes at the sudden impact, paired with her horrific laughter piercing the child’s ears, causes the kid to fall down and cry even more.

As fun as this is for her, eventually she needs to continue on with her day and so she leaves without uttering a single word and ignoring the crowd.

Adros looks at the crying child and tilts celes’s head. Cel understood what crying was, but didn’t understand why this child in particular was crying.

As the child continues to cry, Adros keeps tilting cel’s head side to side almost like a confused dog.

Eventually the child’s crying starts to cease and they start to be confused by celes’s head movements. Maybe they would even laugh at how silly the cervitaur looked tilting celes’s head like a dog.

Eventually Adros would figure it was just an odd one off crying before continuing on celes’s way.

Albion paused at the sound of the crying, and the child pointing at him made it very clear that he was the cause of it.

He glances around, uncertain of what to do for a moment, before just sitting down right where he was standing.

He hoped that getting on the kid’s level or lower would help calm them down. He slowly extends one of his wings towards the kid, an offer that if the kid wanted to get a better look without getting too close that they could.

The kid’s crying started to calm but tears still fell from their face as they hesitantly got a bit closer, reaching their arm out as far as they could to try to touch the wing while trying to stay as far as they could.

Albion doesn’t move and lets the kid go at their own pace. Luckily he wasn’t busy today so he could take the time to do this to show the kid that he wasn’t scary.

Gerolt briefly startled at the sudden sound, he was tense as his eyes landed on the source. A crying child who was looking right at him.

He was good at comfort when it came to his job or Mylien, but outside of that he didn’t know what to do.

So, with his face starting to heat up with embarrassment, he goes to leave as he figures he can’t cause further distress if he’s not there.

Odrin wasn’t surprised by the sound but it still catches him off guard. Typically he wasn’t the cause of it, but he knew a trick that typically worked. In fact it’s his own daughter’s favorite trick.

He grunts as he gets down onto the ground so he’s not taller than the kid, before looking at them. “Hey bud, do you wanna see a cool trick?” he asks gently.

The kid hesitantly nods, their screaming from crying momentarily paused but seeming ready to start back up at any given moment.

The dragon shows the kid that his hands are empty, he then cups them together and blows a puff of frosted breath into them.

When he separated his hands, an ice sculpture of a cat stood in the calm of his hand. “Ta-da!” he says, carefully setting it on the ground.

There’s a moment of silence, before in a soft voice the kid asks “Can you make a hippo?”

Odrin grins “I could make a whole family of hippos.” With that he gets to work making one hippo at a time until the kid is doing better.

Edsel stiffens when he hears the crying. He doesn’t bother to look, he just throws his hood over his head and apologizes before trying to leave.

Warning that Lady Good Luck doesn’t help but also doesn’t further Distress the child

Lady Good Luck grins and looks at her wife. “It’s good to know that some are still upset by our presence.”

Lady Bad Luck glances down at the kid before looking at Good Luck “Dear, that’s a child.” She says as she signs. “They’re probably just scared in general.”

Good Luck huffs “Perhaps, but the idea of their fear being caused by us is enough for me.” She says, walking off before Bad Luck could get a word in.

Bad Luck sighs and looks down at the kid. She reaches up to one of the wings on the side of her head and plucks a feather to offer it to the kid.

The kid, still crying, accepts the feather.

With that Bad Luck leaves as well.

Warning over

Lucifer looks at the kid, unsure of what to do. She was in a position where she couldn’t easily leave either.

So she pulls out her phone and calls someone who she knows knew how to handle kids. Seth, a devil of a guilt based hell.

After briefly explaining what happened she asked what to do.

“Well, you’re too tall for sitting down to scare them less to work. Bending over may scare them more. Can you leave?”

“Not really.” At this moment, Luci has completely forgotten she can teleport.

“Maybe try using some of your magic to distract them, kids usually like magic shows.”

“Got it! Thank you Seth!”

“You’re welcome Luci.”

Over the next few minutes, Lucifer would try to show the child relatively safe tricks with real magic.

Just long enough for either the kid to stop crying or that she can safely leave without accidentally hurting anyone.

My brain is getting stuck (/positive) on Runa’s recovery arc and also thinking of Bebê getting a new pet whumpee who’s also immortal and he trains them to be like a side kick for him and they help him whump Odrin while he’s is stuck with Bebê <3

I had a fun idea after thrifting TNAIM and reading it (not sure what version I have, but cheers.)

Nox, instead of being left behind at the mill, she is able to run off with Amaris and Odrin, instead showing that she was the little thief that took the man's blade and coin purse. He's mildly impressed, if not annoyed that a kid outdid him.

Leaving the mill, Nox realizes that she is free from the Grey Matron's wrath and, for the first time, wants to grow into her own person. One cold morning, in their long trek to Stone, Nox tags along with Odrin into the forest, wanting to hunt with him. He doesn't think she can be quiet enough to hunt, and to a degree, he was right. She was clumsy with catching a rabbit, but he found it strangely endearing that she was trying to impress him. He eventually caught the rabbit, off-handedly telling Nox, "bring me a rabbit one day when you've gotten better at hunting." Nox is annoyed, but she will remember it.

She starts to feel as though her hair is starting to get in her way. Now that the Grey Matron wasn't holding her back, Nox decided that she would - literally - cut the final loose end. She asks Odrin how he sharpens his blades, and when she understands how to do it on her own, she cuts her hair down to a medium length.

Arriving to Stone, Nox and Amaris we're sent away to a room while the Reevers debated on what to do with the girls. Unhappy that their masculine parade is being rained on by femininity. Nox didn't like how she was being shamed for being feminine - she quite liked being tender and frail. But that didn't mean she didn't like hunting with Odrin, hiking out in the cold mountains and experiencing change. She was never scared of adult men and she wasn't going to start with these Reevers.

Though, instead of villainizing them, Nox decided that she would prove herself if they would give her the fighting chance. A young boy, named Malik, was one of the lads that was pressed about a girl talking back to him. He wanted to fight her, and Nox didn't deny him the chance.

Despite Malik being raised in the Reev, he found himself on the ground, overpowered by a fighter Nox that was able to take him down, despite his best efforts.

Her hair and eyes were as black as midnight, but her spirit was fiery and alight. She was tired of being walked all over back home, no longer wanting to take it from complete strangers that only saw her as property.

Needless to say, the Reev was impressed with how she took out their feisty student. Malik, the boy with an honest face and sharpest tooth. He was a born liar and cheater. But he was honest, for the first time in awhile, when he conceded to her. He swore one day, with a big grin on his face, that he'd exact his vengeance.

Now fondly looked back on as a playful memory. Nox and Malik would grow up together and become each other's blades. He still had his revenge, the brat of a man.

Nox should of been the best candidate to become a Reever. The boys in the School would call her New Moon, for how she is like a moonless night that stalks the shadows in utter silence.

I just have ideas for Nox that would be way more fun to delve into than listen to Amaris live her best life. Amaris is not a fav of mine, and I really did think (the first time I heard about TNAIM) was that BOTH women would be fighters and adventurers. Not one having all the fun while the other is left in the sex gutters.

Nox deserves better. I'll draw my version of her soon. 🥇

-'You're Safe Now, Thei' - a link to a fic i never finished with Thei after he was rescued by Sirea during Alistair's down fall! I'm not happy with the pacing of it and how some things turned out so it might not ever be finished but maybe I'll re write it!

-Punishment idea for Thei involving sensory deprivation, sensory overload, and also branding with a silver cookie cutter (Consensual whumping)

-Feral Mylien fuckin kills Valen, as deserved.

-Valen's POV of his attack on Mylien, which was also how they first met and where Valen obsession began

-Odrin trying to not be defiant due to agreeing to trade places with Runa, so he actively bites his tongue around Bebê.

-gets to a point where Bebê tells him to beg and w/o thinking he says something along the lines of 'fuck you' or 'go fuck yourself'

-bebê pauses for a moment before grabbing Odrin by the hair and dragging him over to the area they used to keep Runa in for live steaming his torture and throws him on the ground in front of the camera. Bebê gives him an option "Want to try that again? Or would you rather the entire city watch their precious hero not even try fight back against their dreaded villain?"

(Add on at the end of a grim reaper coming to get her to inform a soul has gone missing. When asked which one, she's informed it was one named Eli. ) [In progress]

-Mylien with BTHB ‘drugging’, Valen drugs Mylien and brings him to his other felitaur friends to scare him. they have permission to scratch, cut, and bite him because Valen wants to drill it into Mylien’s head that he can keep him safe if he just lets him.
