Im Hana - One of the Heroes of Cantha. Childhood best friends with Yuuma, and wife of Nika.

Im Min-Seo - Daughter of Hana and Nika.

Im Nari - Present day descendant of Hana and Nika. Serves the Empire as a Willbender, and bodyguard of Princess Jié Yuèlóng.

Chén Yánglóng - An ancient dragon God of Cantha, true ruler of the Celestials, and husband of Lǐ Bǎofèng. Father of Jié Yuèlóng, and Empress Ihn's secret lover.

Lǐ Bǎofèng - An ancient phoenix God of Cantha, true ruler of the Celestials, and husband of Chén Yánglóng.

Jié Yuèlóng - Imperial Princess of Cantha, daughter of Empress Ihn and Chén Yánglóng.

Yuán Zhēnjīng - An ancient fox spirit revered by the Miyajima family.

Shion Miyajima - A Priestess of Grenth born in Kryta who went to Cantha in search of her family's history. Currently trying to restore the abandoned Miyajima estate off the coast of Shing Jea.

Shion Miyajima is a Krytan-born Priestess of Grenth, however her ancestry can be traced back to Cantha, specifically to the once-esteemed Miyajima family.

The Miyajimas were a powerful family of Priests and Ritualists who called Shing Jea Island their home for centuries before Cantha closed its borders.

While they had an affinity for the God of Death, they primarily worshiped a local fox spirit named Yuán Zhēnjīng, who acted as their family’s patron deity. The family’s work mainly consisted of helping the departed find rest, either with Yuán Zhēnjīng himself or with Grenth.

While well-respected by many of the commonfolk, and even having sent one their own to study under Master Togo at the Monastery, when the Affliction spread through Cantha, the Miyajimas attempted to aid those that had fallen ill, and later became targets of the Ministry of Purity for harboring the Afflicted. The family was persecuted by the Ministry, and scattered to the winds, some even finding their way across the sea to Central Tyria.

(There are rumours that a small splinter of the family managed to survive the Ministry of Purity’s reign by changing their names and abandoning their kin, but there is little proof of this in modern times.)

In a foreign land, and without Yuán Zhēnjīng to guide them, the members of the family that had arrived in Kryta turned to the Church of Grenth, becoming primarily servants of the God of Death.

Shion was raised as a Priestess of Grenth, and only heard tales of the revered spirit her ancestors had worked with..

At least until she ventured to Cantha itself after the borders reopened to learn of her family’s history, that is.

well I was playing Shion tonight and had a sudden urge to write some kind of intro post for her! she’s a character I’ve had for a pretty long time but only recently fleshed out her story as of EoD :>
