Maekar had been doted on immense child-like curiosity and the perceptiveness of an ancient, ubiquitous being. Not in the same way Heleana invoked uneasiness with her dreams and eerie muttering. Sometimes the prince felt in Maekar the culmination of mythical forces but then Aegon would be reminded he was just a kid and could be manipulated like everybody else.

After watching House of the Dragon and becoming incredibly invested in the story, i decided to create an OC within the HOTD universe.

So here is my OC Alyssa Targaryen!

Underneath the cut i am going to put some info and background on her.

Alyssa Targaryen is born in 111AC to Lady Rhea Royce and Daemon Targaryen.

In 115AC Alyssa’s mother dies in a horse riding accident and Alyssa(4) is soon after moved to live with her uncle, King Viserys, as her father is at war in the Stepstones.

10 years later in 125AC, Alyssa(14) has a long lasting affair with her cousin, Aegon Targaryen(18) with the consent of his sister-wife Helaena Targaryen(16).

Soon after the suicide of Helaena Targaryen(21), Alyssa(19) and Aegon(24) are married.

Alyssa(19) falls pregnant after the consummation of their marriage, giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Maekar Targaryen in 130AC.

Only a year later, Aegon Targaryen(25) is poisoned, forcing Alyssa to run away to Pentos with Maekar in hopes of not being killed by the new king Viserys II.

At the very start of the year 132AC, Maekar dies in his cradle from the flu.

Alyssa dies a few weeks later from starvation in grief from the death of her son, husband and all of her family.

Okayyy so obviously her life is absolutely tragic and but i thought it worked very well with the original story and still seems realistic.

I also made an overall timeline with all the relevant info, this took absolutely forever so i would love if people could read through and see if it is accurate <3

105AC: Queen Aemma Arryn dies in childbirth, the baby dies too.

120AC: Laena Velaryon commits suicide with her own dragon, Vhagar’s fire.

120AC: Laenor Velaryon is murdered.

120AC: Aemond Targaryen claims Vhagar, he loses an eye in a fight between him and his cousins over who deserves to claim Vhagar.

120AC: Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen are married.

120AC: Aegon Targaryen III is born from Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen.

122AC: Aegon II and Helaena Targaryen are married.

122AC: Viserys Targaryen II is born from Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen.

130AC: Rhaenyra Targaryen dies by being eaten by Aegon Targaryen II’s dragon, Sunfyre.

If you are going to write an OC who is a Dragonseed or Seahorse seed (someone descended from a Velaryon), please do not feel compelled to only write them as people who have silver hair and/or purple eyes.

You can have them as secret descendants of Valyrians who do not know of their heritage until something happens (if they are Velaryons, you can say they have great sailing skills and resistance to misty weather and storms).

It's colorist to say they are only true Targaryens or Velaryons just for having the Valyrian typical look and misogynist if it's only because of a father instead of a mother.

Rhaenys The Queen Who Should Have Been is a true Targaryen and she has raven hair in the canon of Fire & Blood, same with her mother Jocelyn Baratheon -the daughter of Alyssa Velaryon and Rogar Baratheon- and they are more valyrian than the silver haired Aemma Arryn as Jocelyn's descended from Targaryens on both her father's and mother's sides (Alyssa Velaryon was said to have a Targaryen ancestor).

Jace, Luke and Joffrey have more valyrian blood than Daenerys the Unburnt and yet they had medium brown hair and brown eyes (which is explained by other circumstances).

Queen Alysanne Targaryen is never considered a lesser Targaryen even though she has the less typical (but still common) Valyrian look of honey blonde hair and pale blue eyes.

Baelor Breakspear, even if he received racism, is described as a worthy heir to the Iron Throne and proved that being a Targaryen is more than having Silver hair and purple eyes, same with Aerys and Rhaegel; since Maekar is the only one of Daeron and Myriah's sons described having the full Valyrian look.

And if it's a Targaryen Royce oc, Targaryen Hightower oc or a Velaryon Targaryen oc (child of Corlys and Rhaenys who in canon has actually raven hair), then black or brown hair in that case is not "a stain from the gods to show their bastardy" as I've read in some fics, in that case their hair is easily explainable because of their parents, and if you think about it you will see it would be a proof that the Strong boys' hair, eyes and other physical features of them are not coming from Laenor but rather from Harwin Strong.

THE WEREWOLF

there's something inside a werewolf that's sharp, thorns and barbs coiling up in tight knots of vine even on their best days. halfway through a conversation, you'll forget your happiness and the pain comes back in a flash. you never meant to, but the sharpness has done harm on your behalf. it's defensive. it's leftover artillery from a battle you spent so long fighting that it still doesn't feel like it's truly over, does it? you want so badly to be soft. to take the hand that you are offered instead of baring your teeth. and it might be hard to believe, but you are soft. you're the softest one out there. it'll just take a while to untangle those vines enough to know that very little is often life-or-death, and not everything touches to hurt.

THE GHOST

it's an odd thing, to feel so far from grounded and yet trapped, tethered, unable to escape. there's more you have to do! so why can't you move? i'm sure you have an answer to that, at the very least in the back of your mind. people love to say that ghosts hold grudges or haunt for revenge but they always get it wrong; you're stuck because something or someone chained you down and left you there. you try and reach out to all those bright people who pass through your life, but it rarely feels like it does much more than knock a cup off the table, blow some papers into the air. i need you to trust me- they see it. they're listening. they'll keep looking for you and, eventually, they'll be able to see you too.

THAT WHICH CANNOT BE KNOWN

oh god. how did it come to this? to some extent, you've gone so far past your own idea of "human" that it must be kind of fun, right? maybe. i'm not sure. as an artefact of cosmic horror, you're wild and wacky and colourful and people are probably drawn to that, but you will never let them know you. the mystery intrigues for a while, but it'll wear everyone down. it'll wear you down, too. who are you? do you remember? are you so far gone that you can't go back? and maybe that's the most tragic thing of all- becoming so distorted in your identity, and for so long, that no matter how hard you want to return you can't ever seem to figure it out. but you've learned a vast amount up in the stars, and people will work hard to get to know you. it doesn't matter who you used to be. sometimes, you should just start from scratch: give yourself a name, a birthday. let someone celebrate these things with you.

THE VAMPIRE

it is the loneliest day of a vampire's life, the first time they look into a mirror and see their reflection missing. drinking blood sucks too, don't get me wrong, but as a vampire you had to learn to hide from the sunlight, from your family, all your friends, because you were unavoidably different now and you didn't know how to explain that to them in a way they would understand. you could get stranger's blood in bursts, but what is life when you can't know someone for longer than the night lasts? you left everything behind because it was easier than trying to tell them. i just hope you know you're not the only vampire out there, and that there exist people who will understand your situation without a word. they'll sit with you in the dark for as long as you'll need them to.

THE WITCH

people need to find blame wherever they can; it makes the bad things in their life feel just a touch more bearable. the witches are so often blamed for the curses others are under that no one even questions it anymore. you point to a supposed witch and everyone else prepares the stake, no matter their innocence. to be born and believed a witch is one of the worst curses of them all- you can have friends and family, but there's always a dread that someday, someone will point to you, and everyone you once trusted will throw you into the pyre. if you're here, reading this, you've probably been burned before. and i don't blame you for wanting to hide away, to really become the witch they all say you are, to curse them. but to be a witch is to brush your fingertips over the bark of a tree and watch it grow a touch stronger. keep that in mind.

THE MUMMY

here's the thing about mummies- why the hell is anyone opening up their tombs? you were resting. you were peaceful. but someone intruded, barged in and broke down your walls and stole all the parts of yourself that you cherished, and then blamed you for being angry. blamed you for chasing them down no matter how fast they ran and how many obstacles they put in your path. and you know what? they deserve your rage. they destroyed something sacred. they didn't give a shit, and they wouldn't ever have lamented their actions had it not been for you- the real hero- getting up and showing them that they don't have the right to destroy and pillage as they please. that is your home. that is your body. nothing they do can take that from you. if not for you, they probably would've kept breaking into tombs and disturbing restful lives without a second thought. you won't be repayed for your good, but i hope you know you are a saviour in your own right.

THE GHOST

A KNIFE CALLED GRIEF.

You have left your house, you have left those people behind, but what are you going to do about the memories which have taken root in you? You can run but not without them. You want someone to sit with you on this cool marble floor while the sun burns everything.You want them to cut your rotten heart and theirs too. You want to sit with it in front of you, let them see you with all your flaws, which haven’t been your fault but you have been made to believe so, and you want them to love you anyways. Because you know you’d do that for them.

AN UNDOING INFLUENCE.

Can someone tell you what to do? You have been carrying so much love within you for so long it is starting to turn into anger (why does it matter, all you see is red anyways) and you have been dragging this body through each day and every night you are split open on your bed and it is so so so lonely. If someone were to walk in while you were on your bed that way and they stitched you back in a new way, lining the seams with their love and kisses, you’d probably find this dreary world a little more bearable. You want someone to turn you over and over until you look in the mirror and see yourself looking back at yourself with a gentleness which has been lacking in you since forever.

VIOLENT DEVOTION.

Everyone seems to think you are faithless, but the thing is you haven’t yet found someone who will bring you to your knees and make you raise your head in reverence. This world has stopped bringing you joy, you want more of the divine. You want to dedicate your entire existence to someone; you want to make them realise they are not something terrible, make them see just how much beauty they are bringing to this world. You want to be the only one for them, the only one they have chosen to love. There’s a god shaped pit inside of you and only they can fit in it. And what if they choose to walk away? Didn’t I say this was violent devotion?

A STORY THAT ENDS IN BLOOD.

The world has always been unkind, and when you have turned to yourself for comfort you have come face to face with an empty pit which seems to be laughing. You don’t care if it kills you but once you find someone whom you love and who loves you back, you will make sure nothing happens to them. They are yours. You will make a tear in this world and create a new place for you and your love if it comes to that. Because it has always been about love, and it is how it always ends.

CONSUMPTION OF A HEART UNLOVED.

Here’s a dining table, here’s a set of plates. Here’s your heart, red and bursting with love. You have tried to love people all your life, but no one seems to understand you. Your own mother perhaps forgot to teach you how to protect yourself, maybe people whom you trusted chose to look the other way when all you wanted was a hand full of love. All you want is someone to take from you, all you want is someone to dig in your heart and eat it and kiss you afterwards - bloody and red. You want them to tell you that you are what they have been looking for, you want to be the one who ends their hunger.

SILENT

a lot has happened to you. its demoralizing, i know. you cry with your head leaning against the wall, tears streaking your face. your lip quivers but your mouth stays firmly closed. you keep your problems to yourself to not bother anyone.

FRUSTRATED

so many big things have happened that a little one sets you off. your angry and that anger turns to hot tears. you scream in frustration and try to verbally or physically release all of the anger by yelling/throwing things. eventually you fall into a pile on the floor full of brokenness.

SOB

you are a sob. youve been through so much and the pain has finally caught up to you. you make soft broken noises as you cry. your life has been hard and everythings piled up on you, and in this moment it becomes too much. you sob for a few minutes before the tears stop and you just lay in pain. one of the worst cries.

HAPPY

a lot may have happened to you, but in this moment it doesnt matter. everything will fall into place as God [the seven] intends it to. you know you will be okay, because whatever caused this cry is how it needs to be. the future is bright and so is your renewed sense of hope.
