Happy 8/8 motherfuckers
My first reform fic! with Cypress and Max. may or may not have been written originally as a self indulgent thing with a comfort character that turned into max instead.
summary: Cypress can’t sleep with her mind racing like this, Maxwell uses his calming presence to help
contents: Soft safe vore, digestion and reform, tooth rotting fluff.

Four in the god damn morning. Why was she on her phone again? Cypress rolled over to face her buddy. Max lay peacefully beside her, his chest rising and falling with steady slow breaths. A soft smile was on his face but it was a little obscured by the pillow he was nuzzled into. She looked back at her phone, then to him, then sighed.
She should have quit while she was ahead. Not that she was ever really ahead, but their sleepovers usually pushed away the feelings that made her chest hurt. Funny that, how emotions could affect you physically. Usually, the man didn’t have to do anything to help, just being in his company eased her mind a little. He was a friend, which in itself was enough, but he was such a fun person to be around! She enjoyed his company very much and the banter was always so exciting.
Of course then comes male validation, a sense of safety, and a cuddle buddy. All of these are very good things, she won’t deny, that also boost her mood.
But now, late at night, doomscrolling on her phone, her chest felt tight again. The room felt invasive. Her skin felt wrong. Basically, it was not a good time.
For some reason, the woman had it in her head that even though they had countless sleepovers, shared a bed during those nights, and snuggled on a regular basis, she would be a presumptuous monster by scooting closer to Max.
She really wished it was one of those nights where he snuggled her in his sleep like a teddy bear. But surprise surprise, he didn’t become a magic mind reader in his sleep either, so he stayed in his cozy position. Cypress sighed and set her phone down, rubbing her face with her hands. This was so damn frustrating.
Like any other night like this, exaggerations of her failures and shortcomings flooded her mind. Why was she here, wasting his time? Why wasn’t she working? Doing better? Being better? Cypress willed her mind to shut the fuck up for a moment. She didn’t even realize she had been tossing and turning since she had dropped her phone until she stopped. It wasn’t like she was flailing, but it was like she felt wrong no matter what position she was in. Like the space between her skin and muscle was itchy.
Cypress turned her head to Max once more. He looked so peaceful in his sleep. Deciding her mind was being stupid, she did manage to bring herself closer to him. It’s not like their friendship would fall apart because of that one simple action, right? Right?? Oh god, plea-
That train of thought was interrupted by Max pulling her to his chest. She was frozen for a moment, realizing she had gotten what she wanted and trying very hard to fight the guilt that came from it.
She felt him shift again, seemingly holding her even closer before his lips made contact with the top of her head. She shivered, unsure of what to do, then he spoke.
“I’ve got you, don’t worry.” He assured her in a low, tired-but-kind-sounding tone. Cypress’s eyes widened, what did he mean? He was never so upfront like this. Normally she’d have to force herself to ask for assurances, even if he was more than happy to comply. The woman leaned her forehead against his chest.
“How did you…?” She asked, trailing off because it might have been a silly question.
“You were rolling around in bed a lot, the shifting woke me up, plus I can smell the discomfort.” He explained, giving her a gentle squeeze.
“Smell it? Oh god I’m so sorry should I go shower-“
“Easy, Cypress~! You’re alright.” The mini-giant chuckled a little, moving his hand to hold the back of her head gently. “It’s a pred thing. I don’t usually notice it too much anymore but you had it invade my dreams”
Cypress breathed deeply and resisted the urge to start shaking. “I-I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up or ruin your sleep-“
She was cut off by the giant’s playful growl as he moved to curl around her. “Shhhh, it’s alright, sleepy giant’s got you. Everything’s gonna be okay~”
Cypress was a little too stunned to speak but relaxed in his curled-up hold.
“You’re precious, Cypress. I won’t let the smell of worry or a sleepless night take you away from me” he assured her, stroking her hair gently. “Relaaaaax~”
She melted into the touch, he was so warm, so comfortable, her brow slowly began to unfurrow as she held on loosely to his sleep shirt.
He only held her tighter, doing his best to keep her hidden from the outside world. A low rumble began in his throat that bubbled up into a purr, causing his chest to vibrate against her.
In truth, the giant had been looking for an excuse to do this for quite a while. He loved holding his beloved prey closely, protecting her, even if it was from her own thoughts. There was such satisfaction in watching her worry fade, the scent dissipate, her breathing calm.
He tilted his head toward hers, guiding her face away from him and beginning to lick her forehead gently, causing her hair to plaster back. He smiled when she giggled softly, the tickle making her focus back in on the moment.
“I’m glad I woke up, I wouldn’t wanna miss this~” he cooed. Every exhale made his purr louder for a second and washed warm breath over her head.
Cypress was bombarded with emotion. Relief was the main one like he was lapping up all her worry, but also excitement, a little overwhelm pricked up too. Cypress melted into the affection, face scrunched up once more as she absentmindedly flutter-kicked her feet.
As Cypress relaxed, the man seemed to get more thorough with his licks. She had to close her eyes to avoid getting slime in them and soon her hair was drenched to the root. Was he… kneading her back? Man, she had to stop almost crying when he got affectionate like this.
Eventually, he parted himself from her face, a few strands of saliva connected between her and his mouth that were easily wiped off by his hand. “I think… I want a midnight snack~” he purred, giving her a peck on her damp forehead.
“It’s past midnight, technically-“ Cypress stammered out, now suddenly red in the face. “But I’m still definitely up for that-!”
“Good~” Max cooed, uncurling himself from her and moving to sit up against the back of the bed, dragging her with him. “Let me melt your worry away, take you in, make you mine~” he chuckled when Cypress shivered in his hold. To really dig the point in, he yawned, revealing his warm, damp, inviting maw with its lovely sharp pearly whites. He could feel her getting warmer in his hands, loving knowing that he was successful in distracting his once distressed prey.
Cypress hadn’t clued in until he mentioned melting that he wanted to digest her tonight. But that actually sounded perfect. Who’s to say she wouldn’t wake up and dwell while in there?
“Lay down for me,” the giant told her after a moment, setting her down on the plush bed once more. She did as she was told, propping her head up on one of his massive pillows and watching him curiously as he moved on top of her.
“Max?” She asked, eyes locked with his own.
“Yes?” He replied.
“Thank you”
Max grinned and like the usual show-off he was, lowered himself down like the start of a push-up to peck her lips gently.
“Don’t thank me,” he told her “I don’t like that. Just enjoy- also, don’t dwell on that or I’ll bite you~.”
That was a smart thing to say because just as she was about to have to throw hands with guilt again she laughed. “Who says I don’t wanna be bit?” A fire seemed to light in Max’s eye at the teasing and he lowered himself once more to nibble and suck on her shoulder. The warm laughter that came from her made him incredibly happy, and after a few more moments of that, he ducked back, disappearing under the blankets. Cypress rose a brow, unsure of what to expect until suddenly he pulled her legs under. She yelped as her feet made contact with something warm and wet but snapped to her senses a moment later with a smile. “You’re such a dork~!” She laughed.
Max paid her no mind as he licked at her feet. He didn’t linger long, though, he swallowed thickly, dragging her calves into his throat. She instantly relaxed, absentmindedly wiggling her toes as he pulled them deeper into himself.
The giant couldn’t help but groan with pleasure as he swallowed up her thighs and her feet breached into his tight stomach. She was just too damn cute! Such good prey, so willing to be crammed into his belly, excited for it, even. Because he was still so sleepy, he worked lazily up to her hips, struggling a little with them before getting past them and dragging her under the blankets completely. She was full-on giggling now; even in the dark, she could picture his face so clearly as he gobbled her up.
As he reached her chest, she had to bend her knees in his belly. He rumbled in pleasure, and she was completely in his throat before she knew it. Drool fell from his lips as he snuggled up back onto the bed and pillows. He massaged at her all the way down into his belly and patted the warm, rounded mass firmly. Cypress felt herself being squished as she was pushed into his stomach and even more so when he curled around it.
“Oh you hit the spot~” Max purred, slowly running a hand over his middle. It groaned and gurgled happily around its prey, greeting her like an old friend. Cypress immediately felt the walls squeeze her. She was already curled up so tightly inside him, being squished more, causing her to hold her breath temporarily.
His toes curled, and he had to go back to laying on his back to feel it all. His skin was pulled taught around her form, abs stretched nearly flat in order to accommodate his prey. “Comfortable in there?” he asked, “because you feel great out here~” it was true. he was so full. The mass inside him fought for space with his organs, causing him to breathe a little more shallowly. The feeling was absolutely intoxicating.
Cypress couldn’t bring herself to do much besides chirp happily and nuzzle into place. He was so strong that even the lazy rubs he gave to his belly felt like a full-on massage to her. He could already feel his eyes fighting to close, his body wanting to sleep off the big meal. Max refused. He would be there until his prey passed out. He would be there for her.
“So tasty~ you know that?” He teased, giving her a hearty pat. “You fill me up just right. It’s like you were made for this~.”
Max grinned as he felt her flush inside of him, the heat adding to his already warm middle. It was starting to rumble now, trying to squish her more and knead enzymes into her skin.
While that could be agonizing to anyone, If Max so chose, it was warm, tingling, soothing to Cypress as it worked to break her down slowly. He hummed happily and squeezed his middle to give her his best attempt at a hug, which she reciprocated by gently squirming, knowing he liked it.
“You’re amazing,” Cypress finally piped up for the first time since she got in there. It was breathless, almost as if she was in a trance. “So so so amazing” unlike Max, she had been awake the whole night, so she was already losing the fight for consciousness.
“I know~” Max chuckled in response, chest swelling a little with pride, “but shhhh, now. I’m going to keep you warm, safe… loved~” his sharp teeth were revealed once more when she squirmed at that last bit. He grabbed his stomach, squeezing it hard enough to stop Cypress from breathing for a moment.
This was exactly what she wanted. Exactly. The squeeze pinned her completely for a moment, and once again, she marvelled at his strength. He eased up, going back to rubbing, and she tuned in to his words.
“My sweet, delicious Cypress~” His toes curled when his stomach gave a particularly satisfying gurgle. “You’re all mine~”
Max was properly aware of how weak she was now, feeling the curves of her body start to dull and flatten into one round shape that fit his belly. “I have you. forget the anxiety, forget the depression for the night; you’ll feel how much I love and enjoy you~.”
Cypress would argue, really, and some little bitch boy part of her brain wanted to. But his sweet voice dripped with real, genuine honey. He loved this just as much as she did. She couldn’t feel much anymore besides the pressure of him from all sides. They were what was still holding her together and what would soon undo her, dispersing her throughout his body.
“I love your sweet voice and kind attitude and yo- UURP” Max was cut off by a belch. “Heh-“ he poked at his stomach, “and your taste, you’re almost gone now aren’t you then?” His stomach responded with a symphony of rumbles, gurgles, glorps and more.
“I love you so much…~” Max’s tone softened as he knew his prey was close to unconsciousness “Cypress, you are wonderful, and I’m so glad I met you.” Firm hands massaged her soft form as it weakly squirmed to indicate it was still there. “Rest now. Become a part of me~”
The squirming had stopped, she was gone. Max rolled back to his side, curling around his still active middle as it digested the slurry that was once Cypress’s body. His own body softened as more mass was added to it, some muscle, some fat. If anything, it highlighted his strong arms and made his belly look quite comfortable to lay on.
Sleep came easy to him. Max was full. Happy. Cypress was safe with him. No one could get to her. She could only feel his warmth and love for her. The sounds of digestion kept on till morning when he woke up and stretched, revealing his tummy as his shirt rose up. It took him a moment to remember who was on his body, but once he did, he purred and hummed happily, pressing against his middle.
“Good morning, Cypress~” He spoke aloud, hugging himself gently. He could feel her padding him slightly all over, keeping him a little warmer during the fridged morning.
He couldn’t keep his hands off his nearly empty middle as he set up for the morning. No one was in the house to see but he still felt a sense of pride from holding his vulnerable friend somewhere safe and comfortable on him.
They lingered together well into the afternoon. Max wanted to pump her full of as many happy thoughts as he could. In return, she gave him such a warm feeling of satisfaction. Despite her being unconscious, he could still feel her mutual love.
It was late afternoon by the time he decided he would reform her. Though taking her off of him was a little disappointing, she made up for it with plenty of praises, kisses, hugs, and affection.
Dinner that was cooked with love was offered to her, and the delighted woman spent the evening with her loving pred.
“You’re not hungry?” She asked when she saw he wasn’t having anything
“Nah~” he replied with a warm smile, and he pulled her close to him.

Unexpected Kiss
Pairing: Claire x Muse, Muse x Solomon
CW: Unrequited love, surprise kiss, extreme jealousy, Claire cries, mentioned past shared trauma between Claire and Muse (no explicit details)
A/N: I was scrolling tiktok earlier and this prompt came up, sooo... I figured, why not!? Tagging @paper-trash-bag since this features two OC's! <3 HELP I GOT SO CARRIED AWAY AND THIS GOT SO LONG- Not beta read, I rushed the ending and don't like it, but I needed to finish this up and post SOMETHING. I'm getting real tired of talking about my writing and having nothing to show for it lol.
***
"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"
It wasn't meant to be passive aggressive. It really wasn't. But for a reason she'd honestly rather not admit to herself right now, Claire couldn't help the snide tone that seemed to just roll right off her tongue at the sight of her two friends cuddled up together on the couch. As familiar as the tender look Solomon was giving Muse was, and as normal as it seemed for Muse to melt into him whenever Claire turned her back for five seconds, she wasn't sure she would ever get used to the way it made her feel when she watched them like that.
"Nope," Muse was quick to answer from next to Solomon. "And even if you were, I think pizza is a valid reason for that."
Oh, right- pizza. The whole reason Claire had left the two of them alone in the apartment in the first place. She had offered to pick up dinner tonight, and after a brief discussion about how no one felt like doing any dishes, the three of them had decided pizza would be the easiest option with little to no clean up afterwards, so now here she was with a pizza in her hands and jealousy in her heart.
Of who? Well...
One might think she was interested in the sorcerer that she spent a good chunk of her time with day in and day out. Solomon had been nothing but kind to her even if he did have quite a cold demeanor at first, but she understood considering the circumstances. She would have acted the same way if someone had randomly moved in with both her and her partner only months ago just like she had done to Muse and Solomon. But even so, he was always civil and courteous, and he never made her feel like a burden. If anything, they shared a certain kinship after discovering her... predicament. But...
No. She wasn't after Solomon, despite how it might have seemed that way at first.
"And here I thought we were about to kiss. You would leave me for pizza?" Solomon whined with a pout.
Claire resisted the urge to smirk as she watched Muse pry themselves from Solomon's embrace and toss the blanket off their lap. They carefully scooted closer to where she was standing and patted the space beside them on the cushion, inviting her to sit down next to them. And as she sat, the thought crossed her mind that maybe she should have made Solomon pick up the pizza instead of her, and then she would have been the one who got some one on one time with Muse. Maybe then she would be the one sitting next to them while they watched their favorite show and shared a blanket with her. Maybe she would be the one about share a kiss with them. But it was much too late to be thinking of that now, wasn't it?
"If you give me five dollars, I'll let you kiss me..."
Obviously Muse meant it as a joke. Claire knew that. But even as she sat next to them, the five dollar bill in her right jacket pocket seemed to burn more intensely than the scalding hot pizza box still in her hands.
"Clearly you've been spending too much time with Mammon and not enough time with me," Solomon sighed.
Claire's grip on the box became a bit more forceful as her brows furrowed in agitation. Even if she knew deep down that Solomon hadn't meant it the way it came across to her, she still felt excluded. What, was she just nonexistent to them? Was she nobody to Muse in Solomon's eyes? Everyone in the entire Devildom and Celestial Realm knew what they'd been through together in the past, and Solomon was no exception to that knowledge. The least he could have done was be a bit more sensitive to the situation.
But then... the more she dwelled on that thought, the more she realized that it was entirely unreasonable of her to ask that, since she hadn't filled either of them in on any of her feelings towards Muse. Besides, her feelings weren't their problem to deal with. Still...
"Yeah, and? What about me? I'm here too." Overtaken by her emotions, Claire blurted out her words snobbishly before she could stop herself.
Immediately, she regretted it. Silence fell over the three of them for a moment before Muse, who always seemed to somehow know what to say in these sorts of situations, grabbed the pizza box from her hands and opened it without hesitation. As if nothing had been said, as if she hadn't just stuck her entire foot in her mouth and made a fool of herself in front of the two people who were letting her stay here out of the goodness of their hearts, Muse moved right on.
"Ah- they forgot the garlic..." they lamented.
Claire was eager to jump on board and change the topic. "I think there's some leftover cups in the fridge from last time."
"I'll go get it."
"I'll come with you!"
Solomon said nothing as the box was shoved into his hands, but Claire noticed the way he avoided looking at her and instead watched Muse with focused eyes as they shuffled to the kitchen, as if they would somehow fall apart if he took his eyes off of them for even just a second. If only she had the chance, she could be Muse's rock like that. She wished she was the one looking after her blue haired friend instead.
Yeah, friend, she thought. Because that's all I am to them.
While Muse was rummaging around in the fridge, Claire leaned back against the kitchen counter and anxiously shoved her hands into her jacket pockets. As she did, the five dollar bill she'd been thinking about earlier crinkled and brushed up against her hand, and she was reminded of what Muse had said earlier.
If you give me five dollars, I'll let you kiss me.
What if she...
No, she couldn't do that.
But she wanted to.
She replayed Muse's words in her head and wondered if it would be worth it. So many times she'd been so close to confessing, so close to just leaning in and closing the distance between their lips on a whim. Ever since the two of them met in Purgatory, she had been undeniably attracted to Muse. And now? After getting to know them and all the little habits they had, after seeing them just exist and occupy space? She liked them even more. So it came as no surprise to herself that she was holding out hope that Muse might like her too.
Of course, she could always be wrong. But there was only one way to find out... right?
Closing her fingers around the crisp paper, she debated with herself a minute more before deciding that enough was enough, and it was either now or never if she was going to act on her feelings.
"Hey, Muse?"
"Hm?"
Muse turned around with the garlic cups, an unsuspecting and nonchalant look on their face that Claire wished she could have taken a snapshot of to keep in her mind forever. The curious and attentive sparkle behind their grey-blue eyes only further stirred up feelings of jealousy over the knowledge that someone else got to look in those eyes every day the way she wanted to, and by then it was already too late to go back. She doubted she could have stopped herself even if she wanted to.
Claire shoved the five into Muse's hand, leaving them no time to realize what was about to happen before she brazenly pressed up against them and smashed her lips to theirs. It happened so fast that she had no time to taste anything, and the only thing lingering on her tongue when she pulled away was the hope that Muse could feel just how much care and love she put behind that kiss.
It lasted no longer than a fraction of a second. So many different feelings overwhelmed Claire that she was left speechless and out of breath as she leaned back against the kitchen counter once more, her eyes to the floor instead of Muse's face. Perhaps that was for the better though, as the next words out of Muse's mouth were not what Claire wanted to hear.
"Um... you know I made that offer to Solomon, right?"
She wasn't sure just what, exactly, she'd expected Muse to say, but that definitely hadn't been it, and to say she felt mortified would have been an understatement. Rejected, heartbroken, and embarrassed didn't even begin to scratch the surface of how she felt. She fought back a familiar burning sensation behind her eyes as she finally met Muse's gaze and drank in their expression- one filled with confusion, shock, and what she suspected was disbelief.
"Oh-" Her voice sounded funny, as if she wasn't really the one talking. "I'm sorry." Her mouth felt dry and her voice cracked. "I thought-"
I thought you felt the same way.
I thought you liked me.
I thought I had a chance.
"I thought you were talking to me," came out instead.
Muse laughed, but it didn't sound right. To anyone who didn't know them, it might have appeared as if Muse was genuinely aloof. But Claire knew the tone in which they laughed like that very well, and she recognized it right away as the laughter Muse often gave when they felt uncomfortable.
"It's fine. Mistakes happen."
Was that what this was? A mistake?
"Hey, um-"
"Is everything okay in here? What's taking so long?"
The sudden voice startled Claire and caused her to flinch a little. Solomon. She had almost forgotten he was even here. Almost.
"Oh, yeah," Muse answered for her. "We were just..."
For once, Muse was at a loss for words. Claire watched them fumble to explain what the two of them had been up to and provided an out herself.
"I... dropped my five on the kitchen floor, and Muse was just handing it back to me," she lied.
As if to back it up, Muse stretched out their hand and offered the five back but avoided looking directly at her. "Here."
"Thanks..."
Her fingertips brushed up against theirs as she took it back gingerly, her hand shaking a bit out of nervousness. Having Solomon stand behind her like this made her feel as though she'd gotten caught doing something she shouldn't have- which honestly wasn't that far from the truth, considering she'd just kissed his partner.
"Hey," he asked suddenly, "are you okay, Claire?"
At first she thought he had asked Muse. In fact, it took her a moment to process that he'd specifically said her name. When she turned back around to face him, she found him staring at her with concern in his eyes and a crease in his brows as he fretted.
"Me?" Claire asked breathlessly.
"Yes, you," Solomon pressed. "You look a little pale. Maybe you should sit down and eat-"
"Yeah, I'm fine!" She waved him off quickly, mind racing to come up with some sort of excuse to get her out of the situation she had created herself. Things were getting incredibly uncomfortable for her, but they didn't need to know that. For all she knew, Muse actually believed her half assed excuse for kissing them and was none the wiser to her true feelings, and she intended to keep it that way. "Actually, I just remembered I made dinner plans with a friend! I'd totally forgotten until now! That's what the five was for- I need it for the bus. To go see them, and all. So... I have to leave. Like, right now. Or... I'll be late!"
Muse gave her a skeptical look and set the garlic cups down on the counter while Solomon seemed intrigued at the new information he was getting.
"A friend? That's great, Claire!" The sorcerer beamed at her with a genuine smile, and Claire felt her stomach turn. "I'm happy to see you making progress! If you keep this up, I'm sure your memories will return soon."
As if. They're never going to come back at this rate, and you know it. I can't stand when you lie to me like that.
Muse shifted their weight from one foot to the other as they spoke. It felt like they were looking straight through her, scrutinizing her improvised story. "I thought you hadn't found anyone you recognized yet."
"I haven't. I mean-! I don't know them, they know me. They... messaged me a few days ago saying I looked familiar and that they wanted to meet up, and I agreed to see them!" She hoped the lie was believable enough. "But I have to leave now, so..."
Slowly, she started backing up past Solomon and towards the door.
"You're not gonna take anything with you?" Muse questioned. "It's getting kind of late..." And then, as an afterthought, "Are you sure it's safe to just meet up with someone like that?"
"Don't worry about me," Claire insisted as she slipped her shoes on. "I fought off bloodthirsty monsters for years, I think I can handle a human being."
Both Solomon and Muse went silent at that comment, and Claire knew she'd won her way out of both the conversation and the apartment after that. Bringing up her time spent in Purgatory was always a surefire way to shut down a conversation, because no one wanted to rehash bad memories for her and Muse or cause either of them any more distress than they'd already experienced. Even now, Claire watched as Solomon came to stand next to Muse and leaned into them protectively at the mere mention of it.
That should have been me.
"Please be careful."
If Claire didn't know any better, she would have thought Muse was pleading with her to stay with the way they were looking at her with such a forlorn look. But the damage had already been done by her own hand, and there was no way she could stay in that stuffy apartment any longer- at least for the night, maybe even the week. She'd figure it out once she was out of here.
"I will be."
She grabbed her purse from the coat rack by the front door and gripped the doorknob with a shaky hand. She fumbled a bit, finally got a good grip on it, and before either of her roommates could ask about her strange behavior or why she might have seemed so panicked, she slipped out, pulling the door shut tightly behind her. The silence of the empty hallway seemed to swallow her whole, and before she knew it, she was halfway down the dim-lit street with no sense of direction or purpose except to get as far away from Muse and Solomon's apartment as possible.
After some time, she came to a rough stop against something and realized she'd automatically taken herself to the bus stop. The object in front of her was in fact a very familiar wooden bench- the same one she'd used plenty of times before when she wanted to go out and explore the town, but didn't want to borrow Muse's car both out of guilt of using it and because... well, she'd forgotten how to drive.
She let herself fall into it, body curling in on itself as she numbly reached for her phone and shivered against the evening chill that fluttered under the back of her shirt and across her bare skin unexpectedly. Her minuscule contact list stared back at her menacingly when she opened the phone app. It felt like she lay there ages before she was able to move her thumb, but finally there was a dial tone ringing in her ear as she stared off into the empty nothingness in front of her.
"Claire?"
Her breath hitched as she tried to speak. "Cypress," she whispered meekly, "Can you come get me?"
Immediately Cypress's tone changed. Even though she couldn't physically see him, Claire swore she could feel the air of uneasiness drifting through the phone.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing, I-" How was she going to explain this without admitting what happened? "I don't want to be in the Human Realm right now. Please can you come get me?"
"Claire..." Cypress let out a sigh, clearly debating on how to answer. After a moment of silence that left Claire spiraling in her own thoughts, he went on. "How am I supposed to come get you? You know what things are like for me right now... I can barely even walk to RAD without Lord Diavolo breathing down my neck. And you think he's going to just- what, let me go on a joyride to the Human Realm to take you where, exactly?"
"I don't care," she gritted out. "Anywhere but here. Please, Cypress- Please come get me..."
There was another moment of silence. Another sigh, this time softer and more reserved.
"What... happened?"
"...I don't want to talk about it. I can't... I can't talk about it-"
"Claire. Listen to me."
She said nothing, only sniffled into the phone.
"Are you injured?"
"No," she cried, tears finally spilling over.
"Are you safe?"
"Y-Yes..."
"Where are you?"
"I don't know... the bus stop? The one by Muse's place-" Just the mention of Muse's name made the ache in her chest worsen.
"Give me thirty minutes."
A wave of relief washed over her finally, taking the little restraint she had left with it and turning her quiet sobs into something louder, something more raw and painful.
"Thank you," she breathed. "Please hurry?"
"I'll... I'll try. Lord Diavolo has the portals to the human realm locked up tight right now, though. There's no way I can slip through there undetected; I'll have to find some sort of back door..."
"O-Okay..."
"Hey..."
"Yeah?"
"Are you gonna be alright until then?"
"Yeah... I'll be fine."
"Okay. I'll see you soon."
"Don't get caught," she warned. But the line dropped before she even finished speaking, and she was left alone once more with just her regrets and the dim screen of her phone to keep her company. A part of her wished the lie she'd told to Muse and Solomon was true. She wished she was sitting on a bus on her way to dinner, on her way to see someone who wanted to see her, who wanted to be around her, who wanted to spend time with her.
And it dawned on her then, that maybe that was all she had been craving in the first place- to be wanted. Had she mistaken that yearning for the feeling of love? Were her feelings for Muse real, or were they a product of her time spent in Purgatory without a single other soul for company until Muse came along and soothed the ache of loneliness she felt...?
What a mess she had made for herself.

Ok so Ara and my version of Akari would be far too powerful as friends, so I cannot have them together or else they'd have swept through the game so quickly it wouldn't even be funny. Together, they'd probably cut the time it takes to complete the Pokédex in half. Anyways in Akari's au/continuation arc, she does actually meet Ara's ancestors and I want to put a whole little cast here
Akari: created by Arceus as a copy of Dawn. Due to their drastically different environments, Akari became a lot more forceful than Dawn is the only word I can think of right now. Tracking down Volo with a vengeance and also a desire to save the world. Her Pokemon are Typhlosion, Decidueye, Samurott, Wyrdeer, Goodra, and an alpha Sneasler
Professor Cypress: A professor from Paldea studying the Pokemon of the Unova region. She was inspired by Akari and Laventon's work on the Hisuian Pokedex to create one of her own. Journeys with Akari and the others because she wants to help save the world and study Pokemon along the way.
Benjamin: Ara's ancestor! :D He has the same purple hair and blue eyes as our favorite gal <3 He's also the sheriff of Castelia Town, and one of the few Pokemon users in Unova. His partners are Tim the Watchog and Zeebo the Zebstrika. (My friend named Zeebo.) Also, once the whole saving the world fiasco is over, he's going to finally marry his fiance, Charlotte
Kazuo: A merchant of the Gingko Guild who accidentally stumbled along on this whole saving the world adventure. Honestly I don't know what he's doing there. He was the one who initially informed Akari that Volo was going to Unova but other than that he's kinda just filling out the team
Gem: Kazuo's adopted daughter! Also an Ultra Faller just cause. We don't exactly know what world she's from because a) nobody knows what an Ultra Caller is b) she has amnesia and c) she is mute. They kinda just found her in the middle of a forest fire one day and Kazuo decided to adopt her. She might be the origin of ten-year-olds who go on world-saving adventures, and does have one Pokemon at the time: a Happiny! Who does evolve over the course of the journey. Honestly, Gem might become a pretty strong battler one day but idk. Can you tell I don't think my oc plotlines all the way through.
Anyways they all go on a funny little road trip across unova to stop Volo from using the power of the legendary dragons to end the world again. Benjamin WILL arrest him and the epilogue would probably be the wedding
