do not want to start a fight but isn’t this totally normal. in middle school you’re like what 11 years old? I didn’t know any of this shit at that age and that has not made my life difficult as an adult even remotely. in particular I was shit at touch typing and remember being miserable in class because I was horrible at it and now I’m perfectly comfortable touch typing because I’m no longer 11 years old. I’ve taught several semesters of upper year undergraduates (meaning all of them were over the age of 21-22) in a similar coding/technical class setting who didn’t know anything about windows file structures and it was fine, they didn't blow up their computers or bring about the downfall of civilisation, they eventually picked it up over the 12 weeks of the semester because that’s how learning works

I think I've come to the realization that almost all the KK songs are good enough that if you pair them with almost any other KK song someone will say something like "this shouldn't be a round 1 match up" SO all the more reason to do double elimination for them. genuinely I have no idea which song is gonna get worst song because very few have gotten any negative comments worse than "this song is overrated" or "I don't like this song but I get why it's popular"

really trying not to post too much abt it bc it only came out days ago but man. saw x was such a love letter to the franchise. you can feel the care for the overarching story and for the characters that went into it and it really really pays off and its really healing to see a Good saw movie, especially after the three titles before it. i will def be seeing it a third time before it leaves theaters

sonic prime's existence has made me think about multiverse settings and au's in general in an effort to break down why i don't really care about most of them. like i think i understand the appeal in them and how they offer infinite possibilities, so all the funny little coffeeshop au's and things have now canon validity or something like that, and it's fun to see redesigns of established characters, or have the blorbos put in different settings like a science experiment to see how they adapt and grow. but i feel like the more you detach them from the original premise and setting the more they start losing their charm, or start turning into a generic mush that doesn't have flavor outside of like "what if they were X", and i guess it has enjoyable qualities but idk if it has lasting beyond being a fun thought exercise or a redesign prompt. cyberpunk dystopias and pirates and whatever else prime's got going on i haven't watched it can work as settings just fine, but if all you have is aesthetics there's nothing to really grab my interest beyond "oh cool they got robot parts :)" and "oh cool they have funny hats :)", which is fine but just. not very interesting. and i think that's the core of the problem

tbf i don't know how prime specifically is handling the multiverse stuff, for all i know they're doing a perfectly serviceable job and obviously a ton of people are finding it fun and enjoyable and full of character analysis moments too, but ngl it is such a hurdle for me when it comes to even considering watching a whole series centered around alternate universe things

i was in the gc and saw a post on reddit about who was the best canon black li and it made me think about how few canon black lis there are. there are only nineteen canon black lis in the whole of choices, regardless of gender. while we did some brainstorming and managed to think of 32 white canon male lis, so that’s not including gender customisable white characters (like avery) or white female lis.

i just think that’s insane.
