Death was lonely as the souls in the lake flowed as they wished... Well, as Kurda thought - well could think to the best of his ability. There’s no senses, there’s no development in death, though the abyssal dissonance of the endlessly deep body of water felt overpowering. It swallowed whatever type of consciousness he had in here that allowed him to think, yet not entirely have a mind on his own... As if he would be forced to eventually choose a set of his own memories to feel, to remember, or to relive.
Though, there were times when he had more freedom to think on his own. In the past - when he had freshly died - he could think about the potential anxieties of the future. In the past - when he had witness a soul silently linger beside him, especially if they were familiar to him - he could think about what they could’ve done in the present if they were alive... If he hadn’t ruined that opportunity for them. In the past - when he had recalled a memory with those he’s cared about like Darren - he could think about the pains he’s caused them and especially him; he could think about what future Darren has potentially paved for himself.
It truly felt like he was no longer himself at times, but just a set of memories and feelings... With only the occasional interjection of his true self which was slowly fading, fading away into the Lake of Souls as a whole. The flow of time would be suffocating and disorienting.
( The regrets he’d continuously relive over and over threatened to speed this process up at an agonizing pace. )
Though, moonlight would erupt the eternal darkness of the lake and Kurda would be gifted a body again. His mind foggy, as he forced himself up trying to get used to having legs once again, before... His eyes met her’s and his first thoughts would appear into his head, ‘..Evanna... Why are you..?’ She never would do something like this, would she? This is unlike her to his knowledge. He’d open his mouth, but she’d shake her head “no” before speaking up herself, cutting him off preemptively.
“Kurda, don’t try to speak until you’re back in your time... You’re going to be alive again, but,” She pauses herself before sighing before waving a nail as Kurda would be clothed and strength would be given to his body, yet his mind would remain hazed, but he wanted to argue against that last statement. He didn't deserve to be alive again. “Because you have no say in this... You have no obligation to keep to vampire culture, but can return to it if you desire to tempt your own destiny. I’ve removed you from the Stone of Blood myself and you will be transported somewhere away from the current events.”
He couldn’t even question her properly, but he knew this wasn’t fair since he knew she was doing that on purpose. Though, she’d shortly speak as Kurda finally stood looking back to the lake for a moment, before back to her, “It’s true. I’m trying to rush you out of here out of the eye of Mr. Tiny... Though I won’t answer your questions after this either. Unless you successfully reintegrate yourself into vampire culture again. Though, again, its your choice to be absent after being given another chance at life or not... You’re under no obligation anymore.” Then with a wave of her sharp nail, Kurda’s surroundings would change in an instant... He’d be somewhere, in the night of a city in western Europe.

I am remaking this blog, as well as @obliviouskind, which should launch semi-complete sometime this week. I’m going to keep it on the low, private and selective - a re-kindling of sorts for my love of writing. It feels lost here, theres too many footprints in the sand and I just need a fresh start.
I hope to bring some of you with me on this new chapter but, until then:

My unpopular opinion of the hour?
Your experiences are not universal, and the content you find offensive may be cathartic to someone else.
Just because my fiction offends you, does not mean it's inherently offensive.
There's this mentality I've noticed many muns having in RP spaces... Where if you write about a topic in a way that offends someone - even if you're writing about your own experiences - that you're a horrid person who is just making light of the topic and that you're hurting people who have gone through such topic.
This applies to people writing about discrimination, abuse... anything that can even be slightly sensitive.
I'm going to ramble for a bit.
I enjoy writing queer characters who... go through discrimination, or internalize/perpetuate that discrimination. I enjoy writing characters who struggle with their identity, who stay in the closet - or are forced into the closet - or who realize that they made a mistake in their identity. I enjoy writing about messy queers, those who despise themselves because of their identity, those who get into unhealthy relationships while trying to figure themselves out, those who get hurt in the process of discovering themselves, those who never do discover themselves.
Some people HATE that I write about these things.
There are muns who say that writing about any of those things is a sign of someone being a violent homophobe. There are muns who say that writing these topics is harmful to 'actual gay people', that it's triggering to survivors of homophobia to see it written about in a roleplay, that it's 'disgusting fetishization' to write about gay characters being closeted, that not explicitly condemning all the bad things that happen to my queer characters means that I'm writing 'gay torture porn'. I have had muns follow me while having rules pages that say fuck off if you write about homophobia, nobody wants to read that disgusting freak shit.
... Well, I want to read this freak shit. And judging by my followers who haven't been scared off by my queer rants, I don't think I'm the only one.
ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE POND... There are many muns who write queer characters and worlds in the exact opposite way that I do. They write worlds that all have 'universal acceptance' built in. Where homophobia just... doesn't exist. Not even in passing! All characters are accepted, muses don't really struggle with finding their identity nor coming out. They face little to no resistance from other characters*, everyone is fully open, nobody is closeted. Everything goes 100% swimmingly.
* ( Er, well, rarely there will be one bigoted character who exists solely to be a punching bag for other muses to dunk on - or who otherwise only exists in a character's backstory and is mentioned once in a blue moon... )
I hate these stories. Admittedly, I find them offensive at times - where are characters like me? Where are characters who go through discrimination - casual or intense? Who struggle with their identity? Who stay in the closet for whatever reason? Who misstep and make mistakes in their exploration? Where are the characters who don't get a happily ever after tale of queerness?
But, I KNOW THESE TYPES OF WORLDS AREN'T WRITTEN FOR ME. I'm simply not the audience! Just because I find them distasteful doesn't mean that they're universally harmful to all queer people and should be censored.
So, instead of calling the people who enjoy said fiction disgusting freaks and demanding they never write about such harmful things, I just don't read it. If it pops up on dash, I'll just ignore the post, or PostBlock it if I have to. If I see it in an RP server, I'll just roll my eyes and scroll past. Even though I find squeaky-clean depictions of queerness to be offensive, my experience is not universal.
...
I want to see something more realistic that relates to my own experiences - it offends me when people erase references to discrimination in their queer muses, because it feels like erasure of people like me who have gone through such.
Other people might want to RP a more idealized world, where homophobia doesn't exist - it offends them when people write about discrimination with their queer muses, because they feel like it's making light of something that nobody wants to go through.
Both of these views are fine! Our experiences, preferences, tastes in fiction? They're all different, and they're all going to be different, always and forever, and that doesn't make either of us correct or incorrect... and I wish more people realized this!
Anyways, I am begging people in this RPC ( and in the RPC as a whole ) to stop immediately jumping to "this writing offends me, and I'm [X], which means that you're a bad person who hates [X] people!!!" extremes.

I don't know why people are afraid to communicate.
Okay, I know some of the reasons why, but there are too many people allowing their assumptions to dictate how they feel or what to do in a situation requiring a specific kind of OOC/Roleplay etiquette.
I'm just really tired of people being like "I'm an anxious beaaaaan :< " and then complain so much about not having followers, not having threads, assuming people do not like them or their portrayal, claiming that an RPC has cliques- Like, literally one thousand reasons other than "maybe it's my lack of initiative and refusal to say anything" that could be the cause of seeming isolation.
This isn't meant to dunk on anyone with anxiety- I have anxiety in spades. I visibly shake when I am stressed or have an important interview/have to engage in public speaking and I generally am quite passive in social settings (unless you piss me off). Online interaction just doesn't and shouldn't have such an adverse effect on your anxiety since you are literally not even approaching another person face to face? Yes, I understand it's harder to parse people's moods since you cannot see them, but if something is bothering you and you think someone is mad at you or 'too busy to talk', then just ASK THEM UP FRONT- I am 100% sure that it has nothing to do with you, personally.
Anything in the world you could do is better than sitting in front of a screen imagining a veritable mountain’s worth of self doubt and victimization that is entirely based on zero evidence.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?
Sadness is the biggest one. Happiness is easy to express and anger usually has a source he can interact with directly, but sadness forces him to look inward and he's the type of person that can't deal with self-examination.
🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?
Ikki's biggest fear is stagnation. Since he feels like he didn't have much control over his life before, the idea of growing roots and committing to one thing without other options makes him uncomfortable. This is the main reason why he's always moving and never stays in one place for too long, since he believes he'll be missing out if he lets himself get too comfortable.
🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?
He doesn't necessarily act different, but given how volatile his personality is it's not uncommon for different people to have almost opposite opinions of him. The people he keeps close tend to see him as a very laidback person with a good sense of humor, while those who are more distant might see an overbearing person with little consideration for others or even someone with unresolved anger issues that lashes out with little to no provocation. It really depends on which side of him you end up seeing.

With the ‘Pokemon World Tournament’ routinely bringing her out and away from her comforts, Jasmine’s often left to her own devices upon the ceremony’s wrapping, using the ample amount of time left on her sabbaticals to explore further within the Unova region. One a kindred to the seas and sprawling skies, the brunette fares fairly different in urban settings, often exploring about for any semblance that reminds her of home. Such an excursion brings her to Virbank, and it’s distinguishable feature that instantly takes her back to the warm embrace of her homeland: a bustling, busy port.
Strolling along the docks, Jasmine is accompanied by her travel companion, Amphy Jr. While his mother works tirelessly away in the Glitter Lighthouse, a live beacon for everything between freighters and luxury liners, Amphy Jr. sticks close to his trainer, ever as eager as she to see what adventures these foreign locales keep hidden in plain view...
Her attention drawn to a rather familiar sight, Jasmine stumbles upon someone looking over the piers, out into the dark, murky waters of the port. The moon, waning, glistens listlessly above, it’s reflection in the lapping waters both full of yearning and nostalgia. "What a beautiful night,” she calls, unceremoniously, her voice softer than the sound of crashing waves. “I had no idea Virbank was this pretty. I’d heard other things, I guess, before actually visiting...”

As young lovers, a little Cynthia and Guzma were the personification of life itself; weaponizing their youth for thrills until it withers. Cynthia was one of Guzma’s earliest lovers before he ended up with a list the more he grew. Their time together --although it was a small portion of their lives-- Guzma spent trying to select the most powerful names to allude his little lady Cynthia. I’d like to think that when they meet again as adults, Guzma would chime one of these names out for the sake of the past no matter how ridiculous it’d seem.
Summer - Inspired by the season and setting they began their fire. Cynthia was the best thing that happened to Alola. Everything was bland, boring, and monotonous, until she became his summer vacation. The color of her hair also inspires the nickname.
Julietta - ‘Juliet’ in Spanish. Inspired by Shakespeare's story, Romeo and Juliet, and the drift between them. Guzma would say it strictly in his mother tongue, if only because he didn’t knew the English variant of the tale. To him, she was his little princess.
Mi tesoro - ‘My gift’ in Spanish. Alola was bland until she visits this tropical island. Cynthia was his entertainment in this (to him) stressing, boring region. Guzma would deem her valuable like a gift.
Reina - ‘Queen’ in Spanish. Heavily inspired by Cynthia’s personality. She would call the shots in their adventures, Guzma would be her personal guard, her escort, her tour-guider around Alola, and obeyed her throughout her stay.
La Luna - ‘The moon’ in Spanish. The meaning of the name Cynthia is ‘moon goddess’, which Guzma 100% agrees. Whenever a little Guzma would sneak out to see her, he’d tell his mother, ‘Voy a ver la luna.’ meaning, “I’m going to see the moon.” Cynthia is the moon that he would be seeing.

🌋 VOLCANO - how bad is their temper? is it a slow boil, or a instant explosion?
It's not exactly a secret that Aaron has an intense temper. Anything he feels, he feels right now, whether it's anger, happiness or sadness, as he's a person that's inspired by strong emotions and believes that repressing his feelings is tautamount to holding himself back.
At the same time, because he's usually quick to work through whatever it is that bothers him, he's actually surprisingly chill most of the time. He gets upset easily but also gets over things easily.

🐶 - roleplay-related pet peeve
Okay firstly I had to pick through like five different pet peeves because I have... so many, (someone send me more of these pls...) but I think for this first one I’ll start with...
“Your character is a villain / a bully / evil / abusive, so I’m only going to roleplay/plot with your muse when I want my character to be hurt.”
I cannot stand this.
My muses are not your personal punching bag.
Will I simplify my muses down to make them ‘do-nothing-wrong-soft-boys’? No, of course not. They aren’t good people. Palmer’s not a good person. The Brandon I run over at @jaggedpass isn’t a good person. I’m not going make them perfect people - this is roleplay, this is fiction, I’ll write them how I’d like to.
This isn’t to say that I won’t have my characters insult yours, mock yours, or hurt yours.
“My muses are not your personal punching bag" just means I don’t want my character to be constantly completely vilified, only brought up and used when someone wants something bad to happen to their muses.
It means that I don’t want other people deciding whether or not my characters are abusive, or would do something evil, even if they are villains.
Don’t come at me saying “We should write a thread where Palmer finds out Barry is gay and insults him over it until he cries”. You’re assuming that he would do that, you’re not giving me room to give my own input.
Do come to me asking questions - “What does Palmer think about other gay people?” “Would he ever be discriminatory towards another gay person?” “What would he think if he found out Barry was gay?” It leaves it open for me to give my own input so we can work together to come up with a plot.
Yes, sometimes people are rude for the sake of being rude. Sometimes villains are evil for the sake of being evil. But if you’re only approaching me when you want your muse to be hurt, and you show no interest in my muse beyond that and don’t seek out my own input on the idea, I’m going to get a bit ticked.
When that happens, my muse simply becomes a decoration for yours. Not a character with their own emotions and motivations, but merely a device for your character to be sad. It means I have to roleplay the same exact interaction over and over again, of my character being completely evil with no nuance - any attempts for me to make my character three-dimensional or dynamic are shoved aside because someone wants my muse to call them a slur again.
And yes, that’s happened to me before.
I would have people on Discord who would come into my DMs and try to make my muses discriminate against them - they would never show any interest in my characters unless my characters could do something to hurt theirs iredeemably.
“Hey, you should have Palmer say there are only two genders to my muse and mock them for being non-binary.” ...Okay but why?
“BTW you can have Saturn make fun of my muse’s autism.” Why would my neurodivergent character make fun of your muse for being autistic?
“Thorton should mock my muse for being gay.” Why would he?
( Of course, these are just examples, but you get the idea. )
There’s never a reason for it except to cause their muse misery.
What do I get out of my character insulting yours?
How can I use that to advance my character?
Do you see my character as a character, or simply a button you can press for muse angst?

If there’s a bunch of reblogged gifsets and fanart with no tag to distinguish them as such? I likely won’t follow!
I follow people because I want to write with them, or because I want to read their writing, and to be blunt I generally don’t care about aesthetic posts when I’ve got a dozen of them on my dash in a row and you’re not reblogging anything I can actually interact with. If I want to interact with you and you have a good tagging system? I can filter out OOC posts if they’re excessive, I can hide aesthetic posts, I can find your ask memes tag to find memes to send in and make it easier to spur interactions.
I use tags super liberally, so if someone doesn’t want to see my little OOC posts, they can easily go and blacklist my tag, and I don’t blame them if they want to! If someone wants to send in an ask, they can look through my ask memes tag.
