I am confused about what happens when I elect someone on a ballot in my province. for example: if I elect Armstrong of the conservative party and he wins then that means he becomes a parliament rep for NS but does that also mean he is I'm charge of NS and it's people? sorry if this question is confusing. I am v confused about political parties. I can't even find out who is campaigning in NS. am lost send help

If you’re talking about the upcoming Federal election.

Lets say everyone in your area (an electoral riding) votes, and the Conservatives win. That Conservative candidate will then become your MP (member of Parliament). They do not control your riding or your province. They are a local politician who has been elected to bring your issues to the Federal Government.

Federal governments are decided generally by the party that wins the most of these ridings. One riding doesn’t matter much to any party, but if you get near a majority or a majority of these seats, you can form a government.
