The way I started this manhwa literally willing to physically fight Killian, throw sand in his eyes, biting, scratching, freaking let me at him and ended it with sobbing over how much he loves his wife at 4AM like HE LOVES HIS WIFE SO MUCH GUYS IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY!!!

I read novel spoilers too and oh my god I'm on the floor I am unwell I'm actively sobbing!

ngl, I got taken in by IG reels and thought Edith/Suna would indeed run off with Rhynon (coz that wouldn't be typical) so I started reading casually out of curiosity. As it turns out, they don't in fact run off together and end the plot in 3 chapters, coz that's not the untypical bit of the story.

Then this happened:

oh sweet child, newborn fledgling, babe of light and innocence: I was forged in the fires of shonen manga and anime in the 2000s; I was there in the age of the "crack pairing"; I stood witness as entire LiveJournal communities were born of two characters just being in the same frame of an opening sequence

Been reading Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story and it's been both incredibly frustrating and hilarious

Feustrating because it's a weekly release and we are currently at the "Heroine at her lowest" stage, so no catharsis yet.

Hilarious because this series gets a decent amount of comments and even the die-hard ML are turning against him. The family has had almost no redeeming moments (aside from the MIL, surprisingly) amidst their paranoid suspicions around Edith, and its so bad that people are rooting for the FL to get with the butler.

I've been hoping for that for a while, Rhynon x Edith for endgame

Anyway, you know the situation is dire when we're 27 episodes in and the ML consensus is "throw him in the trash" I hope the writer has a fucking incredible plan to turn this around

So I’ve been reading “I thought it was common possession” and I’ve been thinking

So we know og Edith was beat by every one in her house right and no one else in society knew.

We also know she was known to wear revealing dresses. And most assumed that it was a manipulation strategy the whole “seduce men to gain power/information” and end there

But what if the real reason was that in order to keep their image they couldn’t leave marks were people would see

There for it would have been in her better interest to wear dresses with low backs and cut to be off the shoulder and as long as she kept the charade of “seducing men for power” her father and brother would be none the wiser. In this essay…

I'd imagine him to be one who's fond of giving a gentle few pecks to Ruby's cheeks. A kiss to her hands or lips is plenty normal. But at times, when he finds her to be adorable or he's currently in the mood to tease her, he'd usually go for her cheeks and temple, sometimes even a light peck to the small of her nose to trigger a slight flush to her cheeks. A kiss to her eyelids was often done moments after he was awakened first in the morning as he looked for Ruby on his side, who's still deep into her sleep. He'd stay still, all quiet, as he observed her face. Sometimes smiling in fond amusement at the slight twitch on her nose or low mumbling of words as he waits for a while before begrudgingly forcing himself to leave the warmth of hers to finally attend to his duties for the day.

Temple, forehead, hair, ears

A kiss to either one of the shells of his wife's ears whenever he is in the mood to tease her. Something that's akin to a newly found habit of Killian that first started right after he found out that his wife's ear is one of her (if not most) sensitive spots, before talking to her in a low, sensual voice just to get a rise out of her. Kisses on the forehead or temple, meanwhile, were usually given as an affectionate greeting from him whenever they encountered each other while attending to each of their own duties within the manor. Though the kisses on her temple were specifically, more often than not, were usually accompanied by a tight hug and tend to linger longer than the former.

Edith Snaps

"You couldn't possibly be claiming I am the only one who had access to these documents, could you? Rhynon was the original writer, and other staff use the same office space. And mother, Rhyse, and I all looked at this document together."

Duke Rudwick twitched in irritation. "Are you trying to put the blame on our family and staff? Edith Rigelhof."

Edith slapped the sheaf of papers loudly on the couch next to her. "Rudwick. There is nobody named Edith Rigelhof living in this household. Indeed, as of my wedding it is possible there is nobody named Edith Rigelhof in the entire world."

"What manner of foolish technicality are-"

"My name is Edith Rudwick. If you're going to accuse me of a crime, the bare minimum you can do is get my name right. What is Rhyse's family name? Is she Rhyse Rudwick?"

"You are overstepping your-" Duke Rudwick began hotly, as anyone would. Rhyse was pure as fresh-fallen snow and anything that impugned her honor was naturally villainous.

"Is it overstepping my bounds to ask that I be called by the name you gave me, Father? Is it really?" He could say nothing to that. Propriety would not allow it. Edith sighed. "This is doubly frustrating. The first reason I expect is obvious to you. I am frustrated because I have been accused. I'd say 'because I've been falsely accused,' but to be honest I doubt I'd be any less frustrated with that part if I were guilty. Nobody likes an accusation, guilty or innocent. But the other frustration is only happening because I am innocent."

"What are you going on about now?"

"You say you proved my guilt by putting false information into the documents I was handling and watching Count Rigelhof respond to information he shouldn't have had. But you didn't prove my guilt. What you proved is that there is a Rigelhof spy present. Now imagine a fantastical world in which I'm actually innocent of this crime. Please. Just for a moment. What would be the other frustration nagging at my mind?"

To his credit, Edith's husband spoke up. "You think the real culprit will escape."

Edith nodded. "Honestly this entire accusation seems terribly wasteful on your part. What do you gain?" She sighed. "Well. I suppose if you convict me you can use my alleged crimes to threaten Count Rigelhof..."

At this, Duke Rudwick flinched again. Edith didn't believe he'd planned it, but she could see him considering the risks anew. If things went wrong with the accusation, it might appear he'd forged the charges for political gain. As a family obsessed with honor the Rudwicks couldn't be seen flirting with impropriety.

"Still, it seems like you could have gained much more by making Count Rigelhof continue dancing to your tune awhile. All you had to do was keep the spy in the dark...HA."

Her husband's face was a mask of genuine concern, so Edith wondered if the smile at her realization looked unhinged to him. She felt a little unhinged; weirdly ecstatic.

"You can! Because I'm innocent, you can! As long as Rhynon here is not the spy - and I don't know of any reason he would be - Count Rigelhof's spy doesn't know that the spying has been discovered! We put me under house arrest, on any charge but spying. I don't care about some temporary claim. Say I was violent with Rhyse if you must. Or I have some contagious disease! Only Rhynon or my doting husband delivering me meals outside my door a few times a day, and even then with gloves and a mask. Quarantine would be a good enough reason not to allow the maids near me. Then you repeat the trick! Let slip some important product it's imperative the Rudwicks be able to purchase enough of, in the ledgers you're having to work without my help. Count Rigelhof will learn of it through his actual spy. And he'll act on it immediately. I can't imagine him thinking he has an advantage and then not acting on it. He's kind of stupid that way."

Duke Rudwick scoffed. "You expect us to believe you would betray your own family?"

Edith smiled at him. It was sad and warm all at once. "As I have said, I am Edith Rudwick. You are my family. So, no. I won't."

Past me that just started "Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story": Ugh I hate Killian he sucks

Me now having finished the manhwa and read novel spoilers: HE LOVES HIS WIFE SO MUCH!!! HE NEVER HATED HER!!! EVEN WHEN HE WAS 100% MIND CONTROLLED HE WAS ALWAYS LOOKING AT EDITH!! IMAGINE BEING SO DOWN BAD FOR YOUR WIFE YOU DEFY LITERAL MIND CONTROL!! HE WOULD BURN THE WORLD FOR HER!!!
