Of course, having cake for lunch means that it's probably a good idea to get some exercise afterward, so Alice took over dog-tending duties by taking Shadow out for a nice long jog around the neighborhood! They had a lovely time going over hill and dale and past the community garden (where I took the opportunity to evolve a few plants). Victor, for his part, finished up the harvest, Repairioed everything that was busted around the house, and had himself some fruit pie for lunch before calling up his new best buddy Felipe for a chat (reception was horrible as per the moodlet Victor got afterward, but it was actually a positive "glad to unhook from the modern world" moodlet, so -- yay?); Smiler, for THEIR part, headed upstairs to retrieve all their honeymoon videos out of their drone and start editing them and investigating the trends. Victor moved onto making more candles (his first cylindrical molded candle, in fact) as Alice came back home and, pooped, plopped right down for a nap on the floor --

But what ho, who is this at the door? Why, it's Knox Greenburg, Eco Master! With a request to use the recycler and a promise to share the bits and pieces. Alice got up at his knock and let him know that he was indeed free to use the recycler outside, then went upstairs to have a shower before settling into bed for a PROPER nap -- soon joined by Victor, who was pretty tuckered out after all his early-morning crafting and gardening! Smiler, though, being immune to getting tired, was free to fly downstairs and have an enthusiastic chat with Knox about the important of living green before asking for a drink. Which Knox was happy to give, because Smiler is his friend and just generally awesome. There are many perks to being a vampire with a Pristine Reputation, 10 Charisma, and the "Regained Humanity" bonus trait! :p

After that, it was back to chores -- Victor woke up and checked in on Moory, finding she needed a good brushing and another milking. Unfortunately, he woke up a little too late to do anything about the chickens -- yup, we had another fox steal an egg out of the coop! *grumbles* I suppose I should just be grateful none of them have straight-up killed a chicken yet... Smiler, for their part, took a moment to check Knox's traits before sending him on his way, then fed the cowplant and recycled all the trash in their inventory. Guess that chat with Knox was pretty inspiring! All in all, reasonably typical day around the farm...

Before I go to sleep I leave you all with this piece of advice: sometimes you don't actually have to answer big political questions, sometimes you can just say "I am not smart enough to know that, I just know the small things I do to help." Like you can often times completely avoid making a fool of yourself if you just say you don't know.

#simon says #to explain here and not in a reblog:#sometimes when you try to explain big picture solutions you're gonna sound dumb #you might not have done enough research #you might not have a rebuttal to a counter argument #you might not be articulate enough to explain why you think this #sometimes you gotta take a step back and give the simple solution. the one man solution #you do what you can to fight against the problem #you talk to people to help spread awareness and how to fight the bad problem #and you vote and invite others to vote for bigger steps towards solving the problem #like you can talk about theory and how you believe we need to do a huge drastic thing to solve and issue #but people will disagree and argue til you're blue in the face #they'll poke and prod until you mess up or lose your temper and use it against you #and you'll feel dumb and they'll learn nothing #sometimes the best thing to do is step away from the big picture and just say 'idk what the solution is I just know the things I can do“#sometimes you gotta admit you're not a scientist/expert and you can't answer that #i used this while talking with my Dad tonight #he brought up our climate crisis and space travel as a possible solution #and I said I think that's just addressing the symptom and not the cause and we need to care for our Earth now #and he asked me what solutions I think would fix it #and knowing my incredibly smart Dad who is articulate and ready to throw rebuttles at a moments notice to play devils advocate #and my past experience in struggling in this topic with him before #i just told him I didn't know. all i knew is the little things I can and do do to help #and that hopefully by spreading the word and habits and encouraging others to vote for those bigger solutions I could help make a change #but all I really could do is the little things I have control over #and the topic became much less stressful about the little things we have control over #like planting native plants and recycling and adopting habits that are healthier to our planet #which was 100% more preferable to if I tried to give a big solution. because I would reveal i didn't have all the knowledge needed to argue #and my articulation would make me sound like a stupid kid who only thinks they know what's best #so yeah I basically suggest that if you dont wanna feel like shit after debating someone just step away from the big picture for a moment

suggestion do you have... any wants? like obviously you do but like? suggestion my guy my ourple boy. both the easiest and hardest to write. you need a skill to say something to move conversation along but it doesn't fit any skill in particular? about 80% of the time you can have suggestion say it and it will make sense. but like actually characterizing him... how do i define you dude... what makes your character tick... urgh. i dont get you yet. im trying to understand but you are difficult.

#chemi chats #there are some skills that i just dont understand yet and that just means i have to work on their character study chapter #im reading his bio and i think suggestion is a good manipulator and it's instinctive and he tries not to feel bad about it?#he's clever!! charming!! friends with savvy and drama. planting seeds in the mind and coaxing them to grow towards him like he's the sun.#a crude oil reservoir lying beneath a carefully laid flower bed. taps into the roots. the plants don't know any better than to drink.#he's great at sensing what makes people tick and uses that to his advantage. he needs goals to look forward to so he knows how to best #pull the strings to get them there. otherwise he's a bit aimless. he likes being useful. and since influencing others is helpful #he just keeps doing it? because it's what he's good at. and he tries to convince himself its fun and cool and just cuz hes charming and #it's his role as a skill and manipulation isnt thaaaat bad because it's helpful to them after all... but he does feel bad sometimes.#oh im listening to his voice lines and i just got to ''brother you should have put me in front of a firing squad'' and im sad about him now #but what do you want for short term little guy?? probably for people to like him. he likes chatting with people. i bet he'd like genuine #conversations with no strings attached but there's always some part of him filing information and tidbits away that he can't turn off #subconsciously figuring out things he can hold over them or how he can nudge them into thinking someth-/wait.../ no. no he's just talking.#he's /supposed/ to just be talking stop analyzing them stop falling back into that just have a normal conversation!! but he can't help it..#hm. this is all really helpful for his chapter. he and empathy are very alike but also different. very interesting...#task: swept up #okay good talk everyone i think i understand him a little better now lmao?? still gotta figure him out some more hes not fully there but ye #also i think he goes by whatever pronoun you think he'd use. just ''oh what do /you/ think i am hm?? what /would/ i use; do you think?? :)'#funny fella. i love you.

Sometimes I wish twomp wasn't so centered around plargos. Like yeah they're cute n all but I kinda want 2 see more side characters yk? Most characters just appear in one episode for a few seconds n just disappear forever n yeag I just have alot of love for them n it just makes me sad 2 know I probably will never see them again. Ashur is def expanding on the world building n lore rn so it's probbaly not gonna be 100% centered around plargos in the future but like. More side characters pretty please <33

I do think that the crew in wolf would have a lot of scars and shit like when Eiffel got blown up from Lovelace’s bomb he would have like mad burn scars and he would have scars around his fingernails too I think he would have lots and loads of scars all over including from his car crash.

When Kepler got his hand incinerated off he’d have crazy like fire and acid burns all up his arm all the way up to his shoulder blade. He would also have a lot of scars like really deep ones all over.

I think that Lovelace and Jacobi would have some too but different kinds, Lovelace would have like blunt force scars and Jacobi obviously has a lot of bomb scars.

I’m not really sure if Minkowski would have a lot but I’m sure she would have some probably most of them would be from Eiffel doing goofy shit lol and ig some from Hilbert’s experiments but when Eiffel just casually mentioned how he didn’t mean for Hilbert to have to amputate those toes like 👀👀 sir whattt lmao.
