Ello new writer I think ur writing is fantastic don't be so hard on yourself!! Are you interested in getting a beta readerr perchance becuz BOY I need an extension to gojos like u cant just leave me out like this ????
thank you, i appreciate your kind words. but you can't just say perchance and expect me to be normal about it.
anyway more thoughts on gojo below because he makes me insane.
Tumblr media
gojo is someone who only has little time for himself or the things he loves. i mean, can you even imagine having the responsibility of being the strongest resting on your shoulders? so when he finds the time, even if it's for an hour, a few minutes, or a couple of seconds i guarantee he'd spend it with you. because to him you mean everything.
when he's with you he's given just enough of a distraction to forget himself. forget that persona he wears and instead be his real true self. the side where he doesn't hide away his insecurities, his darkest thoughts, his pain and his anger.
you give him an escape. a way to feel like the average joe for as long as he's with you and to say the least, my man really needs it. gojo is someone with a hard shell to crack but i know for a fact that if someone ever gives the time and effort to break through it, he won't let you go afterwards. have you seen him with geto? ten years later, he still calls him his best friend while he’s running a damn cult and killing humans left and right. now imagine if you meant more to him than that, i mean it, he really won't let you go.
he just seems so clingy to me. like downright whiny if you don’t place your one-hundred percent attention on him. you know when you have a pet and they won’t leave you alone, following you around in all areas of your home and sometimes waking up and seeing them right beside you? yeah. that’s him. your doors and windows could have been locked, and he wouldn’t have had his key, but you would still wake up with his arms around your torso — pulling you tight to his chest while he sleeps. he doesn't like leaving you alone. when you both have the time to sit and watch a movie or he drags you along one of his missions out of town and you find yourself chilling on the couch or bed watching a movie. and he’ll casually place his hand on your thigh or your calf, your shoulder if he’s close enough. maybe your hand if he’s feeling like it. in general, expect his touch.
that leads me to what everyone wants.
during sex, gojo expects close proximity. he rarely lets anyone within his vicinity so expect this to be a tender and loving moment for him.
he'll be pulling you into his arms right after the high starts to fade, face pressed into your neck, and he's aware of how big and lanky he is so he won't be putting his full weight on you. he'll cup your face, thumb tracing the skin of your cheek when he presses kiss after kiss onto your lips.
gojo isn't one for talking during intimacy, not too much of a dirty talker but he doesn't have an issue with letting out the soft noises he makes. you could make a symphony with his quiet gasps and drawn-out moans, maybe he'd throw in a curse word here and again, but ultimately he saves his words for after. when you witness his smile and soft gaze that traces your face before he bites his lip teasingly as he drags his eyes lower and lower.
“..you’re beautiful.” he'll whisper into your mouth with a kiss, like a secret no one else must know. “everything i could ever ask for.” he's sweet like that and wants you to know it.

Dev Blog 7/1/23
Tumblr media
Hello my reader!
I'm here with a mini development blog for you all. So far I have added to the base game something like 40k more words. This is not including coding. I have also cleaned up some code errors that wouldn't let you get past the Deep, and negated a conversation with Hazel in the last chapter.
All I have left now is a clean up of some minor name codes and the editing of all the NSFW scenes. Then I can have a few people beta it and I can redo the UI of the game.
I would also like to say that the asexual route within the game is going to change a bit. The more I have learned about asexuality, the more it has come to my attention that there are a vast amount of ways that this can be represented. So, I have decided to address this by allowing an option to have a conversation about this with your RO before any NSFW scene. It can be that the MC doesn't like sex at all to the MC not opposed to it when it feels right. I know this is going to not satisfy some people but this is kind of what I feel comfortable writing. I feel like, at this point in my writing career, I just don't know how to approach it in the variation that asexuality actually is. That might change as I continue writing but for now, that's how I would like to keep it.
That being said, the sexuality code in general has also changed. You no longer have a code saying you are attracted to just men or just women. You can flirt with whoever you want without consequence. You can also deny anyone you want without consequence. Instead, I will just be coding in when you choose which RO you wish to explore the Night Market with. Polys will of course come after all of that. I felt this was also a fair representation. If you are someone who does not want to flirt with a certain gender, then don't chose the flirt options for it. It will then not open any of the flirtation scenes. Or, you know, tell Milo and Bella to just back off. :)
Now onto some personal stuff.
I am stressed. I mean, like really stressed. I thought I would have everything done by today and I am not done. Mainly, I feel bad for my Kickstarter backers. I have so much I owe them and everything is only in about the 70% done area. I am so sorry guys. I have been beating myself up over this for a while now when it became clear that this was far more work than I thought. It's crazy to me. I'm absent from Tumblr and Discord at this point and yet I have been busier with work than I've ever been.
I'm also terrified I'm just not doing enough to the base game. Things that I thought would fit great, ended up not fitting at all. Things that I thought would be an easy addition turned out to be way out of the realm of my capability. It's just all been a learning experience where I've felt like I'm letting you guys down.
And at the end of the day? I really just want to write Book 2.
I know I owe no one an explanation. I've just had this weird feeling I've had to battle the last few months where I am feeling like I have to choose between my family life and my work life. And I hate it. My husband took two weeks off work just so I could work like crazy and I am still not done which is bothering me. Which means weekends are sometimes spent not with my kids but instead working away again. And, because we are a split family, it isn't always like I can make up for this time mid week.
I'm not really looking for advice on this. I'm just kind of trying to be transparent. The stress is for sure getting to me and believe me, I am looking forward to this going up on Steam more than anyone at this point. And then I'm sure I'll spiral because I'll be certain somehow barely anyone will buy it. LOL! But hey, at least I just got two more cats to add to my life. They can purr away my stress that night.
That's everything guys. Thank you for being who you are and I promise you, I am taking care o myself. I'm just a stressed person by nature, I think.
I hope everyone else is having a good summer and you all are getting some wonderful reading time in. If you celebrate the 4th, here's to hoping you have lots of good food that day!
With love,
Zinnia

key take aways from the feedback i was given about the exchanges. i've responded to a few of the responses that were left :)
you can still leave feedback (even if you didn't participate, i'd be interested in why!)
i got a lot of love, too, which is nice. i don't do this to be praised or anything else but i also do love to know when people are having fun with it
What changes (if any) would you like to see?
Maybe like one or two people who are not writing in the fic exchange could act as "beta" and be there to bounce off ideas, help find gifs, give feed back on things that people are writing. Someone that we can talk to without fear of them telling the person we are writing for what the idea is/ worrying they are the person writing for "me". If that makes sense.
this is an excellent idea--i just don't know if it's feasible because most of the people who would act as a beta reader are usually signed up for the exchange
so! i absolutely cannot enforce a blanket ban on asking for help from another writer in the exchange and i wouldn't want to. the only thing you're 'ruining' at that point, is that you aren't writing for the person you've asked to beta. we had 43 people sign up this time around, that doesn't narrow it down too much.
if you do have a beta who is writing in the exchange, just be courteous and don't ask them anything about their fic, and do not put them in the awkward position of having to decline if you offer to beta theirs. also maybe don't put the name of the person you're writing for in the doc/doc title so you're not totally spoiling who the fic is for :)
i'm also around if you need help! it obviously would be impossible for me to help 40 people with brainstorming and editing, but i try to do what i can!
i could maybe add a new question like “would you be down to help someone else with fic ideas/being a beta?” and then if someone told me they needed some help, i could put some feelers out as to who would be best suited. i just don’t know if it would be a question a lot/enough people would agree to just because like i said up top, the people who would beta are usually already knee deep in their own fic
(not verbatim) a couple of suggestions to add a question about what the Main Character’s gender identity should be
will absolutely do this. i usually see people ask the question as an anon for reader insert preference so had taken for granted that that was happening <3
Maybe include a time zone in the deadline
i dont put a time zone with the deadline mostly because it makes it more confusing. if i were to do that i would make it Australian Eastern Time, like the sign ups, and i guarantee that fics will roll in towards midnight of the writers timezones anyway. all in all, the final date is purposely left without a time specific deadline because it gives people an extra day almost. i'll make it clearer that it's literally just midnight of whatever time zone the writer exists in
tbh even the sign up time isn't super hard and fast, as long as i haven't started matching yet then i'm not opposed to opening the form for a last minute entry
Do you have any other feedback?
If anything, maybe a mock-up of "starter questions" to send your match in case people are new and/or don't know quite what to say. That might be helpful.
i'll come up with some questions before the next one and put it in the matches have gone out post. if you've got suggestions, let me know. there’s no fool proof system to it. some people ask lots of questions, some ask very few. some people give super in depth answers and others prefer to let their writer run free
I like having the two-ish months to be able to write instead of a very fast and stressful turn around time
good news! two months is here to stay. giving the halfway and then 1 week follow ups seems to be the key to making sure people don't forget that they've signed up
What were the factors in you not signing up?
timing, re holidays & commitments
absolutely understand, it's not a great time of year with holidays and exams for a lot of people
nervous to sign up
please don't be! i know it's not as easy as that, but if it's something anyone wants to talk about (ever! now, in march, when sign ups open for the summer one), i want to talk to you!
if i see a new person has signed up and i haven't read their fics before, i don't go scrutinising their masterlist and i am never ever going to tell anyone that they're not good enough, or haven't written enough fics, or whatever, to sign up.
i want people to have fun with these and try something new (whether that's signing up in the first place or being adventurous with what they write)
I wasn't sure if I could commit to getting the story completed.
100% understand, writing to a deadline isn't for everyone! if you want to. if it's something you want to have a chat about, hit me up :)
What do you like most about the exchange?
i loved hearing that people enjoyed stepping out of their comfort zones and trying something new! and i also love hearing that people found new writers, my goal is to help make the community a little more *together*

Ocean Eyes - Chapter 1
Burning Cities & Napalm Skies
Boxer!Bucky x Reader
Word count: 1459
Author's note: this is written for @saiyanprincessswanie, I hope you like it dear, and thank you so very much for being so patient! Also, shout out to my sweet alliebeans (@all1e23) for being my beta! I honestly don't know what I would do with you.
Warnings: abusive relationship. Yelling, cursing, degrading remark this is about 2 paragraphs long towards the end, if you need to skip this it's outlined with ~ at the beginning and end of those two paragraphs so you can skip that bit if needed. Bucky is barely in this chapter, however, he will be in the next, gotta set things up and all that jazz.
Tumblr media
Sweat dripped from his brow, stinging his eyes. The sparring match with Steve lasting longer than most, until he saw a pretty girl walk in that caught his eye. Unfortunately, that was also the moment Steve's fist did too.
"Oh shit, Buck? You okay?" Steve cursed.
"Language Rogers," Bucky managed to chuckle out as Steve went to get him a bag of ice. He could tell even from a distance the girl was quiet, reserved, almost shy and meek. She was out of element, but also had an excitement sparkling in her eyes. Then he saw Rumlow wrap his arm around her waist. A sickening smirk sent Bucky's way. His eyes dropping back down to the mat beneath his feet until his trainers feet enter his line of sight.
"Time to call it a night. Pierce is here to train Rumlow. Want to grab a bite to eat?"
"Nah man, I'm not hungry." Bucky said as his stomach soured. He didn't like either man. Rumlow always was a macho alpha male, and Pierce was a slimy bastard who hasn't gotten caught working two opposing gyms, yet. Bucky had lost his appetite.
****
You walked into the gym with your boyfriend. You were nervous, but the excitement that your boyfriend held was contagious, not to mention you hadn't stepped foot near a boxing ring since your dad passed away ten years ago. Boxing wasn't the same without him, and it always brought a bit of pain to your heart, but you swallowed it down to accompany your boyfriend to his practice session he demanded you attended. You felt his fingers grip nearly painfully into your waist, and you were sure you couldn't completely hide the grimace gracing your face. When Brock released you to go sit on one of the aluminum chairs there were set up around the ring. Your shoulder brushing the man leaving that caught your eye when you entered. He was focused, took a hit as well as he gave them, and his blue eyes were captivating. You caught his eyes once again as he apologized, his touch to you arm to steady you making your heart skip a beat, and it was gone in that same measure, almost causing it to falter.
You blinked and made your way to the chair beside a blonde man sitting with an open sketch book in his lap. The trainer that was working with the brunette that seems to have captivated you quickly. You sit down beside him, arms around yourself as you watched Brock train with Pierce. You couldn't help but glance at the sketchpad his pencil scratched against. The sketch, only half done, was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen. It was of a woman, hair perfectly coiffed, captivating eyes, and the man was sketching out the makings of a smirk on her face. You couldn't help but gasp at the beautiful image.
"I hope that was a good thing." The man says with a smirk, but the brief glimpse at his eyes showed vulnerability.
"Oh, sorry. It was. A good thing that is. It's beautiful."
"Ya think so?"
"Definitely. How long have you been working on it?"
"Started it last night after our third date. She's a helluva dame. She wants to see my artwork sometime soon. Just nervous about it."
"You shouldn't be. It's beautiful."
"Thanks. Ya know, I've seen you around here, but I don't think I've ever caught your name. I'm Steve Rogers, by the way."
"Y/N Y/L/N." You say, your trembling hand reaching his. His grasp was soft, gentle. Something you didn't realize could come from a man of his stature, let alone a boxer.
"It's nice to meet you. You Rumlow's girl?" Steve asks as he continues his sketch, his eyes glancing up every once and a while to show he was still engaged in the conversation.
"Uh, yeah." You responded, glancing up at Brock. The ferocious look on his face as he continued to practice sending a shiver down your spine.
"How long have you guys been together?"
"About three years."
"Wow, that's a while."
"Yeah. We met at a bar while I was out with the girls. Some guy spilled his drink all over me and then tried 'helping' to clean it up. Brock stepped in and the rest is history."
"Huh, didn't realize he was such a white knight. Then again he's on the other team that we usually spare against. Not like we all hang out drinking beers together after."
You and Steve continued chatting until Brock stood beside you with his hand gripping your shoulder.
"Time to go Y/N, I have an early morning." His tone left no room for argument. You stood with your eyes downcast, simply raising your hand to steve in a shy wave and began walking beside Brock into the cold night air.
That wasn't the last time you ran into Steve, you'd find him in the same spot with the same sketchpad most nights that Brock was training. You quickly learned that the nights he wasn't there were the nights that him and his friend which was also his boxer, Bucky, had a match. There was one fateful night, the night before Brock's match against Bucky, that Steve was there sketching. Your whole body was tense. You weren't sure how long you could keep doing this. Steve must have noticed since he slipped you a piece of paper with his number and a note which read, "in case you need anything." You left the gym that night with Brock as always, however, you could feel the anger radiating from him the entire way home.
You jumped at the same of every door in your shared apartment, the sound of every heavy footfall. You knew the yelling was coming after the second slam of the fridge door. Brock must have been on his third or fourth drink by now.
You quietly left the bathroom to your shared bedroom. You dreaded it every night. Crawling into the same bed with the man you used to love, but now all you do is fear.
Surprisingly you were able to fall asleep quickly, and stay that way through the night. When you woke you could hear Brock in the kitchen. You saw his empty gym bag at the foot of the bed and decided to start packing it for him. You were almost finished when he walked into the bedroom.
"Hey baby." He whispers in your ear as his hands run across the still tender flesh of your arms.
"Hey." You stammer out breathlessly. You feel like caged prey, but you also can't help but relax into his embrace, one that could be loving when he wanted to be, like now. You pull out his red shorts, folding them so they wouldn't wrinkle in his bag.
"Wait. You're packing my red shorts? Are you kidding me!" He spats as his grip tightens. "You know that's the other team's colors. I wear black for matches, you know that!" You quickly moved out of the way as he ripped the shorts from your hands and tossed them across the room. You sat down on your side of the bed with your knees to your chest.
~~~~~~~~~
"You're absolutely useless you know that?" He says as he begins repacking his bag. "You knew I had a match today yet here you were lazing about in bed all morning before you decided to drag your ass out of it to pack my bag. Couldn't make me breakfast, couldn't clean. You can't do anything right!" He says as he strides over to your side of the bed after zipping his bag closed. He grabbed your still bruised upper arms causing you to flinch, but you knew better than to fight back.
"At least be ready to celebrate my win tonight, you've slept enough for it. Unless I need to go find someone who can at least fuck me right." He spat in your face before shoving you backwards, causing the back of your head the thump against the wall hard enough to cause spots to dance across your vision. You felt yourself being tossed around, handing mapping their way across your skin in the unloving manner you became accustomed to. You heard a voice shouting obscenities, degrading you, your worth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
A while later your vision cleared as you heard the door slam. Brock had left the apartment. You struggled from your spot in the corner onto shakey and bruised legs. You made your way to the book you had stashed between the mattress and box spring, your fingers fumbling for the price of paper shoved between its pages.
"Steve, I need your help."
