Album Review Round and Round The Rampage

Hello everyone I haven’t written in a while as I was on a break but I wanted to post a mini album review to give y’all something to read. This is an album review but I won’t be talking about every single song but I will have my criticisms, favourite songs and a rating at the end. 

Criticisms

1) Whoever decided to release most of the songs needs to be fired. The main reason I listen to albums is to listen to the new songs and it adds a layer of mystery to it and it makes me more excited to listen to it. Another reason why I listen to albums is to distinguish between songs I like or dislike. However since most of the songs were released it took away from any initial excitement I had when I listened to it the first time. I’m not saying pre - releases are bad but here it was overdone. 

2) The second criticism I have is why are the new songs so underwhelming? The songs aren’t bad at all, they're just forgettable. This is disappointing because their previous album had songs that packed a punch and had a certain liveliness to it.

These new songs are not memorable or interesting. I did like two of the new songs which were roll up and love will find a way, however most of them are not worth listening to and it's a shame because I was looking forward to listening to the new songs. 

Favourite songs

My favourite songs were Roll Up, Love Will Find A Way, The Power, Round Up ft Miyavi, Tsunage Kizuna and Slam That Down. 

Conclusion/Rating of the album

This album is rated 5/10. Round and Round is an average album with no excitement in it. It had no memorable new songs. I did enjoy No Gravity more than the previous main single off their previous album. This is disappointing as I expected a stronger body of work. Their previous 2022 album is the better album. By no means is this album bad, it's just underwhelming and did not live up to my expectations. 

I personally wouldn’t listen to this album daily. I'd rather listen to their other albums as those are worth the listen. This album feels like a bunch of pre-release songs were put on the album plus the new songs tacked on to fill up the run time of the album. Hopefully they’ll put out a stronger well thought out album with awesome, attention grabbing songs next time.

my name is a game reference! i picked it in April-May last year when i just started playing hsr and we got introduced to the aeon/god of abundance Yaoshi, i really liked their design and the idea that even good blessings can be harmful if taken to extreme. which is why i am their follower!

now, for my top ten fics, i am going to limit myself to jjk only but i can do a general list too if anyone is interested

(not ranking them because it's something i always struggle with ranking anything)

1. every jjk fic by voxofthevoid @voxofthevoid, because they'd take up the entire list otherwise. i can't chose one favourite tho the way it follows you home, the stories i never told and isolation neophyte, too afraid to taste your conscience are close contenders for the first place

i adore the way he writes Gojo, that arrogant selfish bastard, and Yuuji, my precious baby can do no wrong 🥰, their interactions with each other and people around them (gege could never). and the smut is always top tier, i am still not over one particular line and i don't think i ever will be

2. still water by movequickly. it's ita/fushi, a canon divergent au from 212 chapter of manga and i just really love Megumi's characterization, the introspection on his relationship with others, something we lack in manga, and Sukuna specifically. also there is minor suku/ita and i am obsessed with the fucked up flavour of it!! like yes yes, this is exactly the way i want them

3. putredine by EvilPeaches. hints of ita/fushi, but mostly suku/ita. also another perfect depiction of the fucked up relationship Sukuna and Yuuji have. Yuuji wins but loses so much in the process you are left to wonder if the victory was worth it. in the end skita merge becoming one person (very fucked)

warning: check tags for both fics, especially the third one (people were talking in the comments about how dark it was but i just got horny 😔)

4. i'll be anything you ask of me by Anonymous. mostly hiita, with some goyuu. short and sweet, Yuuji-centric and encourages him to ask for what he wants, which is something i always approve of. comfort fic for me

5. this side of paradise by omontz. goyuu 236 au, Satoru's death starts a time loop with Yuuji forced to live through each in Satoru's pov. i rarely see time loop fics not from the pov of the person experiencing it and this fic does it perfectly. each loop is perfect and it made me cry, oh poor Yuuji he suffered for so long

6. "But to you it's just words" by WriterOfTheMaximum (@the-hurdy-gurdy-man , hope i didn't mistag lmao), a historical goyuu au where they walk a lot . Gojo characterization is very important to me and he is so perfectly imperfect here, just the way he is in the manga. Yuuji is a precious boy ofc, love this fic very much and i am going to reread it soon

7. Convergence by NoGravity, a canon divergent goyuu au in which Yuuji with the prison realm end up in the past (pre hidden inventory arc). Yuuji tries to unseal Satoru and get back to the future while also getting closer with teen Satoru. teen Satoru's jealousy of his older self was super cute. and while the results of their actions in the past didn't fix their future, it created an alternate universe. in the end both goyuu of the og universe and the alternate one are happy together

8. Lipstick by Lumieerie. one of my fave goyuuge fics, just very lovely and super delicious smut, i read it multiple times

9. Misplaced calls by J_c_nth. a loor at Gojo's time in the prison realm during which he receives calls from Yuuji from a different universe. some just met their Satoru z some haven't, some know him well and some really well. those calls make him confront his own feelings for Yuuji and realise how much he loves him

10. Touch me, touch you by rizna. senpai/kohai au goyuu being stupid and stupidly in love and making other people suffer for it

As technology advances and flying cars become more of a reality, it's enjoyable to imagine freely soaring through the sky and appreciating the scenery. Of course, there's already a boat with '{NoGravity:1b}' applied, but you get the idea!

I've already found a couple gems in your other rec list, so I decided to try too. Any rec for the senpai-kohai AU? I dunno why, but I am craving this AU, love the idea of student-era!Gojo and Yuji interact together and fall for each other. Especially since younger Gojo has something to him that feels different from his older self. Maybe it's the arrogance🤔?

A Happy Incident by moodymoody (88.6k/? | M | omegaverse, unplanned pregnancy | ON-GOING; I wouldn't usually recommend incomplete stories, but this one is my favorite teen!Gojo characterization I've read, so I had to. Also not usually a fan of pregnancy stories, but the way this author develops Gojo and Yuuji's emotional connection is so good, I double had to)

Getting high is cool but did you ever take a nap with such strange dreams you nograv noclip through rooms and in your head your boss tells you to chill and take 2 or 10,000 days off to sort yourself out

For the past week I've been balls deep in programming mode and I haven't done that in a while. I'm actually excited to keep returning to the drawing board trying to figure out how to do this and that.

My focus has been a couple things for Distance modding. At first the goal was to figure out how to let players restart levels in multiplayer without needing to leave and rejoin or the host forcing everyone to restart when they want to.

This was super hard, and honestly it might be impossible for the host to restart themselves without restarting everyone else. The game just wasn't coded for that. So instead I got distracted.

I wanted to improve the online collisions functionality I made. Distance wasn't built for doing collisions over multiplayer this has been quite the challenge to make it good. I made some real good progress recently.

The collisions feel great now! However, I needed to adjust the physics of the network cars to achieve this and it resulted in some side effects. The network cars are a little jittery now. The collisions might feel stronger than they should be as a result. Plus, it makes the spectator camera look real bad when it's focused on a jittery car. Improvements need to be made.

Then I got more distracted. You see, if you have custom music on the music does not get affected by most of the highpass & lowpass filters that happen in-game. I must remedy this, so I figured out how to get it working. Currently, WaterAudioZones and NoGravity zones affect custom music now.

So yeah I've been doing a lot over the week lol. It's been fun.

My mens have started rolling out shorts to their song No Gravity. . . And when I say Heavens, I mean to murgatroyd. . Heavens to Murgatroyd. . .

I'm not ready. But slay me please. .
