“Nico, you’re going to get the bed all wet!”
“Oh trust me, that’s the plan,” Nico smirks down at you, having just thrown your damp, naked body on the made bed.
You roll your eyes as he lets the towel covering his waist drop, showing just how excited he is at the sight of you laying naked on your shared bed.
He wastes no time in crawling onto the bed, hovering over you. “Hi.”
“Hi?” you respond with a giggle, propping yourself up on your elbows so you can look at his face.
The fire that was present in his eyes just moments ago is gone. He’s holding himself up above you, simply staring at you. The amount of love and adoration that is present in his eyes makes your stomach turn flips. You start to get a little antsy, holding his stare for what feels like hours.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are? And how lucky I am to have you? And how much I love you,” he blurts, breaking the intense moment.
“I don’t recall. Maybe you should try and remind me. Jog my memory a little bit.”
A small smile breaks out on his face as he leans down to capture your lips in a sweet kiss. He keeps the kiss innocent, pulling back after only a second to place a kiss to your nose.
“I,” his lips move to your left cheek. “Love,” he moves to your right cheek. “You,” his lips land on your forehead before finally returning to your lips.
The kiss is a bit more rushed than the last, his tongue coming to poke at the seam of your lips, gaining the access he wanted. You raise your arms to rest your hands against the back of his neck, pulling him down to you, wanting his body as close as you could get him.
The longer the kiss goes on, you can feel the familiar warmness of arousal form in the pit of your stomach. Nico breaks the kiss to move his lips to your neck, allowing you to catch your breath for a few seconds. You move your hands to his hair as he attacks your neck with bites and sloppy, open-mouthed kisses. Your mind wanders to how quickly the environment went from tender to heated. You let out a chuckle involuntarily, causing Nico to halt his actions.
“Somethin’ funny, Schatz?” he asks through heavy breaths. He looks up at you, lips full and swollen, hair a mess from your hands.
The sight of him like this sends a wave of heat straight to your core. You try to clench your thighs to create some form of friction on the sensitive area, but Nico’s body prevents you from doing so. You start to squirm a bit, needing some relief from the growing arousal.
“Just thinking about how quick you switched from sweet to horny. Thought it was funny,” you admit, taking your hands and pushing the hair off of his forehead, letting them fall back down to the nape of his neck.
“Oh, yeah? This funny to you?” He lowers his hips, rubbing his cock against your slick core, causing you to jolt in surprise.
“Nope. Not at all. Not funny,” you pant out, trying to grind back against him, but he had already pulled away. You whine at the loss of contact, causing him to laugh now.
“Yeah, look at who’s switching up now,” Nico cocks an eyebrow, watching desperation take over your body.
You look up at him, mouth slightly open, begging him with your eyes to do something. You don’t care what it is at this point. His fingers, his mouth, his dick. You just need him to touch you, all humor in the situation no longer on your mind.
“Gotta tell me what you want, Schatz. This is your treat after all, for bein’ such a sweetheart and taking care of me tonight. My treat’s waitin’ on me in the kitchen. But I won’t lie, I’m looking forward to my appetizer,” Nico moves his face down to your neck, breathing his words onto your skin.
“I don’t care. Anything.” You rush your words, eyes falling closed from his hot breath on your neck.
“Uh-Uh. Your choice, Y/N. I don’t move until those pretty little lips of yours do,” he teases, letting his lips move against your skin.
You try to bring your thighs together once again, every touch of his lips on your neck lighting a fire on your skin.
“Your mouth. I want your mouth, Neeks,” you basically moan, thinking of how much you want him to stop talking and do something.
“I was hoping you’d say that,” Nico lifts his face from your neck, smirking down at you.
He brings his mouth down to yours, teasing you with a slow kiss, tongue exploring your mouth. He adjusts his body so his thigh is fully in-between your legs, causing you to moan into the kiss when his solid thigh brushes against your soaked core. You take advantage of the contact, grinding yourself onto his naked thigh, chasing relief.
Nico begins to kiss down your jaw, his mouth attaching to your neck once again. “As much as I like the feeling of you riding my thigh, baby, you’re gonna have to stop. You asked for my mouth, ‘member?” he mumbles through his assault of your neck.
“Then quit teasing me and do something, Neeks. Need you,” you whine in response, grinding slightly harder in frustration.
“Good things come to those who wait. And you will, too, if you just let me savor you for a few minutes.”
He moves on from your neck as he slowly slides his body down, removing his thigh from its position against the spot you need him most. His lips find their way down your chest as he licks a stripe down the valley in-between your breasts. Your breath quickens at the action, back arching as he captures one of your nipples in his mouth.
He looks up at you as he swirls his tongue around the taut bud, bringing a hand up to give attention to your other breast. He feels his own arousal growing at the expression on your face. Your mouth is open in a silent ‘o’, not making nearly enough sound for his liking.
“C’mon, Schatz, wanna hear you. Just you ‘n’ me here, let it out,” Nico demands, removing his mouth to latch onto your other breast, switching his hand to toy with the opposite one.
You groan at the sensation, hands gripping at the comforter beneath you. The noise earns a teasing bite to your sensitive nipple, head flying up to look down at the man on top of you.
He looks up at you, eyes claiming innocence as he continues to move his way down your body. Trailing kisses down your stomach, he drops to his knees on the carpeted floor in front of the bed. He removes his lips to readjust and pull your body to the edge of the bed.
“You’re so beautiful, sweetheart. How lucky I am that you’re all mine,” he admires your glistening pussy in front of him. He places small, feather-light kisses on the inside of your thighs, continuing to tease you despite your earlier protests.
“Please, Nico. I’m begging you. Need you,” you cry out, trying to move your body further down to meet his mouth.
“I love it when you’re desperate,” he raises his head, moving further away from where you need him. “Now you know how I feel all the time. Can’t ever get enough of you, pretty girl. Always want you, all the time,” you raise your head to look at him, growing even more desperate at the sight of him between your legs.
He moves his head back down to your center, keeping eye contact as he finally makes contact, licking a stripe clean up to your clit. You cry out at the feeling of relief, dropping your head back down on the mattress.
Nico wastes no time diving in like you’re his last meal. His tongue circles your clit in the most delicious pattern, causing your hands to once again fly to his hair. The sounds of him slurping your juices like it’s a gourmet meal causes you to tug and pull on his hair, earning a groan from him that radiates throughout your whole body.
“Gonna make me blow my load if you do that again, Schatz,” he says against your folds.
“Sorry. Feels too good,” is all you choke out before he reattaches his lips.
You try to keep your touch in his hair light as he continues, but when you feel his tongue enter you, every thought other than pure pleasure leaves your head. You clench around his tongue, feeling the growl he let out at the action. As he thrusts the muscle in and out of your hole, he pulls your body down further, trying to get even deeper.
The sounds you’re making are nothing short of pornographic, trying to squirm from the intensity. Nico places an arm over your waist, keeping your body pinned down during his aggressive assault. You feel the bubble of pleasure growing, the anticipation of your release making every muscle in your body tighten.
“Taste so good, Schatz. Better than candy,” Nico says against you, vibrations causing you to moan out loud enough for your neighbors to hear.
His words, mixed with the noises echoing in your bedroom, cause the coil in your belly to tighten, threatening to break free any second.
“Gonna come, Nico. So close,” you pant out, grasping as his hair once again, pushing his face even harder in-between your legs.
“Soak me, baby,” is all Nico has to say until the band inside of you snaps, causing every nerve in your body to burn white hot. Your legs shake as Nico rides you through the high with his tongue, a warm pleasantness settling over your skin.
Nico removes his face from between your legs once you fall limp, breath heaving as you try to regain oxygen to your brain. He licks his lips as he moves his body up to hover over yours again, not wanting to waste a drop of your sweet taste.
You have an arm thrown over your eyes, your limbs feeling heavy. “Look at me, baby, wanna see that pretty face of yours.”
“Can’t move,” you mumble, causing Nico to chuckle.
He gently removes your arm from your face, admiring the post-orgasm look on your face. You look up at him with half-closed lids, a tired smile making its way onto your face.
“If this is what baking and running you a bath every once in a while gets me, remind me to do it more often.”
Nico full on laughs at your statement, resting his forehead against your own.
“All you gotta do is ask, baby. I’ll gladly grant your request anytime. Now that I think about it, I could use a new pre-game meal for good luck next season,” he says before kissing your lips.
Your body instantly heats back up at his words, arousal already building once again. You remember how hard he was earlier, figuring he’s near painful after recent actions. As you look down to see his cock oozing pre-cum, you know he needs relief, soon.
You adjust your body so you can reach down and take him into your hand, stroking a few times as his body tenses, surprised at your actions.
“Your turn,” you find a surge of energy, removing your hand and flipping him over so you’re straddling his waist.
You try to move yourself down his body, knees dropping off the bed and almost touching the floor before Nico shoots up off the bed. He places his hands under your armpits, basically picking you up to bring you back to your previous position.
“Not tonight, Schatz. Want to be inside of you too much,” he squeaks out, your core brushing against his throbbing tip from the angle you’re sitting at.
He pulls your face down to meet his, slamming his lips against yours before turning you back over. He wastes no time in bringing his hand down to your core, groaning at how wet you already are once again.
“God, you’re always so ready f’me,” he slips a single finger inside of you, slipping in and out with ease.
You moan at the feeling, still sensitive from your previous orgasm. He pumps his finger in and out a few more times before bringing it up to his lips, sucking on the digit.
“Haven’t you teased me enough tonight?” you whine out, ready to feel full with him.
“Like I said, I like to savor my girl,” is what Nico responds with, moving his body to line himself up with your entrance.
Before you can even try to say anything back, he’s slamming into you so quickly you see stars. He bottoms out from the start, removing himself almost completely before thrusting back into you.
You cry out at the pace he’s setting, mouth hung open and eyes screwed shut.
“This what you wanted, Schatz? Wanted me to fill you up?” he grunts out in-between thrusts, bringing his hand down to stimulate your sensitive bud.
The added feeling of his calloused finger rubbing fast circles on your clit causes a sensation overload. Even the moans get stuck in your throat as Nico slams into you. It’s embarrassing how close you are already, your sensitivity causing borderline overstimulation.
“God, you’re always so tight. Always take me so well,” Nico buries his face into your neck, wanting to be as close to you as he can. “Swear, feels like you were made just for me.”
“Just for you. Only ever for you,” you manage to squeak out the broken words.
You bring your other leg up to dig your heels into Nico’s ass, trying to drive him further, deeper. You bring your hands from their place on his biceps to rake down his back, not even aware of how much pressure you’re applying until you hear Nico hiss.
“Glad the season’s over, or I’d be getting an earful in the locker room for the marks you’re leaving, Schatz,” he grunts out.
You can’t even mutter an apology, because as soon as the words leave his mouth, he changes the angle by straightening your bent leg, throwing it over his shoulder, your ankle resting near his ear. He presses a few kisses to the skin above your ankle, the new position has him hitting spots you never knew existed until this moment.
Nico can feel your walls clenching around him, having found the soft, spongy spot deep inside of you. “Not gonna last much longer, sweetheart. Need you to go first. Let go for me, know you’re close.” He spits out, reaching down to rub circles on your throbbing clit once again.
You can feel his thrusts turning sloppy, knowing he’s nearly there. One particularly deep thrust causes your orgasm to explode inside of you with no warning. You cry out in pleasure, entire body spasming. You barely register the feeling of Nico continuing his movements on your clit, nerves burning so hot with your release that you’re almost numb.
The feeling of your release triggers Nico’s own orgasm, causing him to still inside of you. You can feel the warm sensation of his cum inside of you, coming back down from your second high of the night. After a few more thrusts, Nico drops his spent body onto your own. He places soft kisses on the underside of your jaw, letting your leg fall back into a comfortable position. He doesn’t pull out of you just yet, wanting to feel your warmth just a bit longer.
“I love you,” you add to the sound of labored breaths in the air.
“I love you more, Schatz. And not just after sex, still inside of you,” you laugh at his poetic words. “I love you every day, all the time. You’re it for me, you know that, right?” he brings his chin to rest on your chest, making you lift your heavy head to be able to look at him.
Your heart swells, so much love radiating through your bones for the man on top of you. You truly hit the jackpot with him, considering yourself the luckiest girl in Jersey. Hell, the world, even.
“You’re it for me, too, Neeks. Couldn’t love anyone else even if I tried. No room left in here,” you tap your chest, right where your heart sits.
Nico moves his head over to place a kiss where your fingers just touched, laying his ear down to listen to your heartbeat.
The two of you lay like that for a few more minutes, not wanting to break the moment. Eventually Nico pulls himself out of you, remembering that you needed to go pee sooner rather than later. He follows you to the bathroom to help clean you up before you do your business and meet him back in your bedroom. He already has a fresh pair of boxers on, handing you a pair of your own underwear and one of his t-shirts to put on.
Nico slides a pair of sweatpants on as you get dressed, walking over towards the open bedroom door.
“Where are you going?” you question, wanting nothing more than to crawl in bed and cuddle your boyfriend as you fall asleep.
“Did you forget? That was only the appetizer. I still have one more treat left,” he references the cake you made him earlier in the evening.
You laugh as you follow him out of the bedroom, thinking about how he already got his cake, but now he gets to eat it, too.

♥️47 w/ Nico Hischier… please and thank you
this is inspired by the return of the moustache but fuelled by my brain being fried from uni so the smut is mediocre at best🤠thank you for requesting!
47. "You heard me. I want you to sit on my face."
.
To be perfectly candid, you were less than subtle about admiring your boyfriend’s new look for the off-season.
But, as his girlfriend, it was your right to helplessly ogle your boyfriend after he decided to shave the rest of his beard short and leave his moustache to be accompanied by some stubble. Add in the fact he had still put off cutting his hair—thank every fucking superior being for that one—and had a new glow about him since the stress of the hockey season was finally off his shoulders, it was impossible not to stare.
He was just so pretty and he was all yours. And, yeah, you really fucking missed staring at Nico’s face with no practices or games or meetings getting in your way.
It just never occurred to you that Nico would ever call you out on the blatant way you would ogle him since he brought back the moustache, which is why his words completely caught you off guard.
“What?”
Nico grinned at you, so fucking smug and sure of himself as he placed his hands on his hips like you were talking about the weather. “You heard me,” he said, his voice low and sweet and far too fucking melodic for you to really concentrate on his ego when he sounded like that. “I want you to sit on my face.”
You blinked, standing in the doorway between your shared bedroom and the joined ensuite bathroom. You stared at him, your mind whirling with a million different thoughts but you couldn’t bring yourself to say a single word.
“Been thinking about it all week,” he continued as he started to close the distance between you, his eyes glinting with an emotion that made your stomach twist in desire. “I’ve seen the way you’ve been looking, baby. Tell me you haven’t thought about it too.”
“I—” You stuttered out, your face burning in response. Because truthfully, you had been thinking about it. But your thoughts had been based around Nico pinning your hips to the mattress, to settle between your legs and to let you feel the scratch of his beard across your sensitive inner thighs until you were left begging and panting and whining for more.
It never crossed your mind for you to be the one on top.
“Just want my pretty girl on top of me,” Nico hummed as he reached for you, his large hands engulfing the back of your head and it made your brain short circuit for a few moments. “Let me have a taste, hm?”
“Nico,” you murmured, and the hesitancy was clear in your voice. “I don’t know if it’s a good idea—”
He frowned. “Why not?”
“I–” You let out a noise before shrugging. “What if I squish you or—”
You barely had a chance to react to the snort he let out before his hands dropped from your head, reaching for your thighs and lifting you into his arms with an ease that didn’t feel human at all. You blinked, left speechless as Nico shamelessly grinned up at you, walking back towards the bed with you in his arms.
“I can handle it, baby,” he said, squeezing the fat of your thighs as he emphasised his point. “Now, be a good girl and sit on my face, hm? Wanna fucking drown in you.”
And you really couldn’t be blamed for being unable to say no to those pretty brown eyes staring up at you like he wanted to devour you. You could, however, be blamed for that naive voice in the back of your mind that told you that you’d be in control because you were on top.
It took all of five minutes for that belief to crumble the second Nico got his hands on you.
“Fuck,” you let out a high-pitched whine, head tipped back and lips parted as you felt his lips wrap around your clit and suck, humming deeply as he did.
His arms were locked around your thighs, keeping you in position with his hands pawing your ass and guiding your rocking hips. His hair was dishevelled and messy, spread across the pillow like some twisted angelic painting whilst those pretty brown eyes were now glued to you, watching as he licked and sucked and kissed every single noise out of you.
His chin and lips were glistening with your release, that moustache fucking soaked and his tongue branded with the taste of you—and fuck, Nico truly believed he was in heaven. Because that was the only reasonable explanation for this: for the sight of you on top, your hips rocking and your soaked cunt at his mercy, your hands squeezing your tits and your mouth moaning his name.
It was fucking heaven and it made him rock hard in the flimsy shorts he had put on earlier, probably seconds away from busting a load despite not even touching himself once.
His only coherent thought was that he should have shaved earlier if this was what he could gain from it.
“Fuck, Nico, baby,” you stuttered out, all breathy and panting as you reached one hand down to tangle in his hair, tugging lightly as he groaned against your cunt. “Shit, I-I can’t.”
“One more, schat,” he murmured, his warm breath fanned across your core and it made your legs twitch, and it made Nico smile against your cunt in response. “Please, baby, let me taste you. Let me taste my pretty girl.”
And you were fucking putty in his arms, letting yourself tip over the edge as you clung onto the headboard to keep yourself from keeling over.
Yet, all he could think was that he definitely wasn’t getting rid of the moustache anytime soon.

ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : we can’t be friends (wait for your love - Ariana Grande
Nico Hischier x Reader
Synopsis: At the end of a get-together, your cookie jar always ends up empty. You hatch out a plan to catch whoever is eating all of the cookies. Not once, did it cross your mind that they might be your Swiss neighbor friend from across the hall.
Word count: 1.615
Masterlist
I’m a sucker for neighbor au’s. Anyway, not too happy with this one and it probably doesn’t make much sense. But it’s late, and it’ll do for now.
You wouldn’t say you have a ton of friends. You simply have a select few close ones. They range from being high school friends that you’ve known for years and kept in touch with, to friends you’ve made at work, to your hockey-loving neighbor. Truth be told, you’re not that big of a hockey fan. So it’s a miracle how you became such close friends in a short time. Nico likes to say that it’s nice to have a friend who barely knows anything about the hockey world. He likes the fact that he has a clueless friend in his life for when he wants to relax after a few tough games. Of course, he’s also glad to celebrate with you when he does have some smooth-sailing games. Even though you might not know what’s going on half of the time, you’re always genuinely happy about his achievements. This he appreciates a lot. He might even love you for that, but he won’t admit that to you.
Every time you hold a get-together at your apartment. You’ve noticed something peculiar. The jar of cookies you’ve set out for your friends to eat if they decide to come over is always empty after they visit. Now, you aren’t mad about this relegation. You are just curious about who is eating all of your cookies. You’re glad someone is enjoying your homemade cookies, but you'd like to know who this cookie monster is. It’s a small jar that can only hold a few cookies. So you don’t mind it that much. If anything, you think it’s quite funny.
You’re hosting another get-together after your last one, which was a few weeks ago. You’re determined to catch your cookie eater. You’re going to try to keep an eye on your jar while mingling with friends. You put some of the newest batch of cookies in the cookie jar and set it on your kitchen counter. Free for them to take. Shortly after the silence in the apartment gets interrupted by knocking at your front door. You wipe your hands while walking over. You open your door. A smile instantly spreads across your face. “Nico! It’s good to see you again!” You say happily as you usher him inside. He chuckles softly, sending a tingle through your body. Are you crushing on your Swiss neighbor? Definitely. You can’t deny that. But will you tell him? Absolutely. Not. You’d do anything for him. “It’s good to see you too. How have you been?” He asks and sits down on the couch. You shrug, “it’s been okay. Been busy recently, it’s great to have some free time on my hands again.” He nods. He’s about to say something before he gets interrupted by another knock on the door. You offer him a small smile. “Sorry about that.” He waves it off. “It’s fine. Go ahead.” Without needing to say more you let more friends in. With a quick hug and a quick exchange, everyone is sitting in your living room and conversing with one another.
You come out from the kitchen with drinks and some snacks on a platter and set it on the coffee table. You hop onto the couch next to Nico and join in on the conversation. Time flies by quickly, and before you know it you and Nico are the only ones left in your apartment. Nico looks at the time on his phone. “I think I should get going. I need to take care of some stuff.” He says and gets up from the couch. You follow suit. “Alright. You should come over sometime soon again. It’s been fun.” He nods and smiles. “Oh yeah, for sure. We’ll talk about it. You should come over to mine next time.” You nod. “We’ll talk about it.” You say your goodbyes and he leaves. You watch him enter the apartment across from yours. He gives you a small wave before he closes his door.
You shut your door and head to the kitchen. You didn’t pay attention to the cookie jar like you said you would. You lay your eyes upon the jar, only to find it empty again. You sigh and grab the jar. You put it in the sink and clean it before storing it away again. So much for catching your cookie monster.
***
You’re holding once again another meet-up. You’re baking another batch of cookies to fill your jar. This time you have a solid plan. Some would say it’s foolproof. One by one your friends start piling in and welcoming themselves on your couch. Nico is the last to arrive this time. He apologises but you shrug it off. It's not a big deal to you. You’re just glad he was able to come. Everyone converses with each other again. You and Nico mainly talk with each other. The others don’t mind they encourage it. They know you have a thing for the 6 ft 1 Swiss hockey player. It’s as if it’s obvious to everyone but Nico. You stand up, “I’m going to the bathroom for a second. I’ll be back in a minute.” You tell him. He nods. “Alright. Go ahead.” You take that as your sign to set your plan in motion. You’re not going to the bathroom. You’re going to hide in the hallway, it has the perfect view of the kitchen. If you wait here long enough you’ll know who’s leaving your cookie jar empty.
Sure enough. A wandering Nico enters the kitchen. He sees your cookie jar. Some cookies have already been eaten by your friends. He grabs one and eats it. He smiles happily as he munches on them. He quickly eats one by one. They’re all gone in five minutes. He wipes his mouth to get rid of the crumbs and heads back to the living room. You’ve finally caught your cookie monster. It was oddly cute how he was scarfing down your cookies. You shake your head but can’t help but let out a small chuckle. You’re pleasantly surprised that Nico has been liking your cookies so much. You make a mental note to make another batch for him so that you can give him those the next time you go to his place.
You enter the living room. From a supposed bathroom break. You have a knowing grin on your face. Nico chuckles, “What’s that grin for?” He asks curiously. You shake your head, “nothing. I just came to a realization.” He doesn’t believe you, you can see that on his face. But he doesn’t pry you further. “Whatever you say, Schatz.” He has been calling you that a lot lately. You don’t have a clue what it means, and every time you bring it up he says it’s something they say back in Switzerland. He likes calling you that, and he has been doing that ever since he first slipped up.
Soon enough everyone leaves again. Before Nico leaves he turns to you. “Come over this weekend if you’re free. I’m going to be free. I won’t mind your company.” He says with a small smile. You let out a chuckle. “Sure I’ll come over. I’ll see you then. Is Saturday good?” He nods. “Perfect. See you then.”
***
Saturday comes quicker than you thought it would. You’re making another batch of cookies, this time it’s solely for Nico. Now that you know he has been eating them you work hard to make them perfect. You put dollops of cookie dough on the baking sheet and flatten them. You shove the cookies into the oven and set a timer of ten minutes. You clean up in the meantime. The timer goes off and starts beeping. You take the cookies out and let them cool for another ten minutes. After they cooled you put them in the jar again.
When it’s time to hop over to his place, you make sure to grab the jar and lock the door behind you. You cross the hallway and knock on his door. He opens and his eyes flicker down to the jar of cookies in your hands. He motions for you to come inside. He leads you to his living room and offers you to sit. You place the jar on his table. He looks at it and smiles at you. “It’s only us two tonight. You didn’t have to make them.” You give him a knowing grin. “I was starting to wonder where all my cookies went. I think it’s safe to say I found my cookie monster.” He stumbles over his words before you interrupt him with a laugh. “It’s okay. I’m not mad or anything. I find it rather endearing.” You point to the full cookie jar. “These are all for you. Just return the jar to me when you finish them.” He visibly relaxes and lets out a sigh of relief. “Thank you. Although you didn’t have to.” You let out a small chuckle. “I don’t mind baking you more cookies if you like them.” He smiles. “If it isn’t too much trouble. I wouldn’t mind it.” He says softly. You nod determinedly. “Then more cookies are coming up for Nico Hischier.” You tease him a little. He lets out a boisterous laugh. He winks at you. “I’ll be waiting for them.”
You can’t help but feel like you’ve gotten closer, despite him being your cookie monster. And who knows? Perhaps tonight will be the extra push you need. One thing is for certain. Your feelings for the Swiss in front of you are blooming strongly into something more than just a silly crush.

“so american”

inspired by “so american” by olivia rodrigo
warnings: fluff, kissing
can you tell i love nico in a hat
You were sitting in the passenger side of Nico’s car with your feet up on the dash. The window was down, and your arm was hanging out of it, the cool wind blowing your hair around your face.
It was spring, and the weather was just starting to feel like it. It had been cold for the past few weeks, and both you and Nico were happy to finally be able to enjoy semi-warm temperatures.
You loved driving around Jersey with Nico. You loved sneaking glances at him while he was too focused on the road to notice. You loved how warm his hand felt on your thigh. You loved how his t-shirt fit you and how it smelled like him. You also loved that he let you have aux privileges.
Nico frowned at you as one of your country songs came on the playlist. If his brown puppy dog eyes weren’t covered by his dark sunglasses, they would probably be enough to convince you to change the song.
You giggled at his displeasure, consoling him by lacing your fingers through his that rested on your thigh. He seemed to accept this, a small smile on his face as he shook his head.
He gave you one last once over before focusing on the road again. His smile grew wider. “You look so American.”
You let out a surprised noise. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Nico shrugged. “You’re listening to country music, for one. I only ever see people’s feet on the dashboard in movies, very American.”
“You don’t do this in Switzerland? You don’t relax with your hand out the window like this?” you teased, making wave motions with your arm in the wind.
He laughed, squeezing your hand as he did so. “We relax. It’s just different here. I like your Americanness. I guess the exception is that you’re wearing a Swiss’s shirt, which you look very pretty in, by the way,” he said slyly, raising your hand to his lips to kiss it.
You felt your face heat up as you watched the smile that spread across his face as he pulled away. “God, Nico, don’t make me blush.”
But that’s really all he did, it was what he was best at. You knew he loved how flustered he could make you if he wanted to. He loved how after five months of dating, he could still easily make you nervous.
The next day, at brunch with your friends, you expressed your utter happiness, but at a table full of mostly single women, it wasn’t received the way you intended.
“I’m serious when I say that I have never seen a more attractive man in my life. Like, seriously, compare him to any celebrity crush you’ve ever had, and multiply that attractiveness by a thousand,” you babbled mindlessly to your friends, who were giving each other looks. “And, ugh, don’t get me started on his accent. It’s so hot, especially when he talks me through it.”
“I’m gonna stop you right there,” your friend said, holding up her hand, a disgusted look on her face. “Frankly, it’s rude to talk about this during brunch. I mean, right in front of my french toast?” She gestured to her plate.
Another friend snorted. “I hate to say it, Y/n, but I agree. You literally only talk about him anymore. It’s like you’re gonna marry him.”
“I might,” you blurted.
Their eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Are you serious?”
You gave a small nod, suddenly uncomfortable by the amount of eyes one you. “I know it’s early but—“
“But you love him,” one of your married friends sighed. “It certainly sounds like you do,” she added after getting some looks from the other women at the table.
You didn’t respond, instead choosing to remain silent as the conversation steadily flowed away from you. You but the inside of your cheek, thinking about how you definitely loved Nico. You knew this before today, but with your history of failed relationships, you figured taking it slow with him was a good idea.
You weren’t lying about marrying him. If he kept this shit up, you were going to.
That night, you were lying in bed, eyes on the bathroom door, where Nico was on the other side. In your shorts and tank top, you were a little cold, and the top blanket wasn’t doing much for you.
When Nico slept over, you rarely made it under the covers. He naturally ran hot, and if you were covered by more than one blanket, you would literally overheat.
Finally, he came out of the bathroom. He was wearing a Devils t-shirt that was well worn and mostly likely from several seasons ago. He wasn’t wearing pants, his boxers out for you to ogle at, although you knew you shouldn’t.
Nico walked over to his side of the bed, stopping before he climbed under the blanket to pick up a book on your nightstand. You’d both read it and come to the conclusion that it was a waste of your good money.
“Why do you still have this?” he asked, showing you the cover. “I can’t believe your friend recommended it.”
“I like reading your notes. I think it’s cute how angry you get,” you admitted.
He set the book down and got into the bed, covering you with his body, instantly warming you up.
Wrapping his arms securely around you, he pressed his face into the crook of your neck. He sighed into your skin, his warm breath fanning out and his stubble tickling you.
He placed small kisses up your neck, trailing along your jaw before capturing your lips with his. Between kisses, he said, “Missed you today.”
Your heart fluttered at his words. “Yeah?” you said, smiling against his lips. “I missed you.”
He pressed one last kiss to your lips before pulling away. He brought a hand up to your face, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear, and stroking your face with his thumb. His lips parted, and his eyes were so big and brown that you genuinely felt like you could lose yourself in them.
“I wish you could come with us when we leave.” Nico was referring to an upcoming roadie. He would be gone for a week.
He was looking at you so sincerely, so vulnerably. “I’ll go anywhere you go,” you whispered.
You knew you couldn’t go with him. It wasn’t realistic. But with the way he was looking at you, you really couldn’t hold back from saying something so sappy.
He glanced down at your lips quickly before meeting your eyes again, his thumb continuing to stroke your cheek. “You would?” he asked softly.
You nodded. “I love you, Nico.”
His eyebrows rose in surprise, like he wasn’t expecting you to say it. His lips parted to speak, but nothing came out.
“Sorry if it’s too soon. I know I’m in love with you,” you spoke quickly. “I don’t wanna just assume that you feel the same about all of it.”
He took your face in his hands and kissed you. When he pulled away, he kept his hands on your cheeks and looked at you meaningfully. “I’ve been wanting to say that for months. Trust me, I feel the same. I love you.”
Your face warmed as he looked deeply into your eyes. You surged forward to kiss him again. You peppered his whole face with kisses, and he laughed as he gripped your waist and flipped the two of you over so that you were on top of him.
He grinned at you when you pulled away, his cheeks rosy and his hair slightly messed. “I don’t think I’ll be getting much sleep tonight,” he said.
Your expression matched his perfectly. “I don’t think so either.”
Even though you didn’t confess that earlier that day, you’d thought about marrying him, this was still just as good.

"And I'm finally back," Nico slides the drink across the table, the red and white striped straw taking centre stage in the glass, "only took me nineteen hours." He rakes his fingers through his hair as he slides into the booth, tucking a few strands behind his ear. "Next time," he hooks his arm around your shoulders, "you can go up to the bar."
You scoop up your glass, your lipstick-stained lips wrapping innocently around the straw, but the act momentarily draws in his gaze, his tongue darting out to wet his bottom lip.
"And what makes you think I'll get served any quicker than you?" You take a quick sip, the taste of vodka mixed into the fruity concoction burning the back of your throat. "The place is packed."
You look out to the rest of the bar, your usual spot for a night out overcrowded with others who were looking to knock back a few drinks. No one could move without accidentally tripping over someone's foot, or bumping elbows with another. At a pool table, you spot his teammate gaining the attention of a small brunette.
"Timo has a better chance of getting her number than I do getting served at that bar."
The corners of his mouth pull up into a grin. "I don't know," he sets his drink down, condensation already forming on the outside of the bottle, "I think you'd get served pretty quickly."
You pull the straw to the corner of your mouth, matching his grin. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," he shuffles closer, the rough texture of his denim jeans brushing against your bare leg. He dips his eyes, watching you adjust your skirt, a small comment about wishing you had worn something else filling his ears. "There's nothing wrong with what you're wearing," he reassures you, liking the way the dress hugged your body, "it would definitely catch the eye of a bartender." He tilts his head, letting his gaze wash over your body, absently licking his lips. "Perhaps even get you served quicker at a crowded bar," he trails off.
You rolled your eyes and take another sip, hoping the coldness of your drink might cool the heat that rocketed up your neck as you swallowed it down. "You're not even-" You fall silent, your skin growing cold when your eyes land on someone you had hoped not to see tonight.
Nico chuckles, going for his beer. "Not what, cutie?"
"Connor's here," you whisper, caging your drink closer to your chest.
He sighs. "I know." Your eyes snap to him. "I saw him when I was at the bar, okay," he explains, pulling his arm from around you, dropping his hand to give your knee a soft squeeze, "he tried to talk to me, so I told him to fuck off."
"Nico-"
"The guy's a dick, Y/N," he cuts you off, bringing his hand higher up your leg. Your gaze is dragged down to the hand that burned your thigh, the roughness of his calloused hands leaving behind a dull ache. "And it's not like we were ever buddies when you were together." Your eyes snap back up when he takes his hand away. "Come on," he suggests, nodding over to a few of his teammates, "let's go have some fun."
Your eyes drop to your lap. "I don't know," you mumble, shrugging. Seeing Conor had left you with a sour taste and a desire to hide. "I think I wanna go home."
Nico slides the bottle over the edge, swallowing the sigh that wants to escape. "Look at me," he cups your face, tilting your head back, smiling when your eyes finally reach him, whispering, "Hi." You try to match his smile but it's weak. "Don't let him ruin your night, okay?"
"That's easy for you to say," you chew your bottom lip.
"Maybe," he brings his thumb against your bottom lip, gently prying it from between your teeth, "but you're my friend and I like you better when you're smiling."
You perk your eyebrows. "I thought you liked me better when I'm on my knees?"
"That too," he agrees, a chuckle ripping through his chest.
Sitting back, he reaches for his beer, catching the attention of your ex as he tips his head back and takes a long sip. Connor's eyes flickered back and forth between you and Nico, a scowl pinching at the corners of his mouth when Nico wrapped his arm over your shoulders. He quirks his eyebrow, his own lips curling into a smirk, like he was silently saying you lost.
"You know what," Nico swings his head in your direction, "let's get out of here."
"You sure?"
Nico nods. "Timo looks like he'll be leaving soon," he takes another sip, "and I'm sure the others won't mind us leaving early."
He slides out the booth, grabbing his jacket off the seat, but you stay seated. He glances back over his shoulder, turning quickly on his heels when you hadn't followed him. "I thought you wanted to stay and have some fun?" You ask, crossing your arms over your chest, the action subtly spilling the tops of your boobs over your dress.
He lifts his foot up onto the booth step, his hand reaching out to rest on the seat. "And I thought you wanted to leave?" He fires back, matching your tone. He looks into your eyes like he was trying to bore his way into your brain. To find the thing that had made you change your mind. "You know, since Connor is here?"
"And then I'll get home and just feel stupid for letting him get to me," you tell him, reaching for your glass, draining the rest of your drink at an impressive speed. Setting the glass down, your eyes flick to the bar where Connor crowded the end with his usual group of slimy friends. One look at him had you remembering the cold way he had broken things off with you. It made you angry. Angry enough to do something worthy of getting you and Nico potentially kicked out of the bar. "I want to piss him off."
Nico doesn't stop the smile that stretches across his face. "That's my girl," he cheers, putting his jacket back on the seats, like he was staking a claim on the booth. He wasn't going to miss a chance to help you. "What you got in mind?"
You shuffle out of the booth, Nico moving back to leave you enough space to step out. "Come here." You beckon him closer with your finger, excitement thrilling your body as he steps towards you, his large hands moulding to the shape of your hips. He lowers his mouth but you place your finger against his lips, barring him from the pleasure of kissing you. "I want you to fuck me, Nico," you whisper, sliding your hand down his broad chest, stopping just above the waistband of his jeans, "I want him to hear me scream your name as you make me come."
A lump the size of New Jersey lodges itself inside his throat, but he swallows it down, grinning as you hook your finger under his chin and pull him in for a kiss. He groans, tasting the fruitiness of the cocktail you had been drinking, fisting his fingers into your hair and pulling your head back to deepen the kiss. He sucks on your tongue, his cock growing hard from your taste, and he nips at your bottom lip as he pulls away.
"Does he look pissed?" He asks into your ear, lining your jaw with quick kisses.
"Like he could throw a chair," you reply, biting your bottom lip and whimpering as Nico sucks on your neck.
"Good," he pulls back to look at you, "now let's go really piss him off."
Nico pulls you quickly into the bathroom, his hand blindly searching behind him until he hears something click.
"The door-"
"Already locked," Nico cuts you off, wrapping his arms firmly around your waist, and burying his face into your neck. The smell of your perfume was intoxicating, leaving his cock at half-mast and twitching in his jeans. "I don't want anyone disturbing us," he adds, kissing and nipping at your skin, making his way up the column of your throat. You feel his smug grin pressing into the side of your neck. "I bet he's just counting down the minutes until we come back."
His calloused thumb presses against your mouth and he watches it open with little resistance, doing nothing to stop the memories of you taking his cock, your lips stretched around his girth, from flashing behind his eyes.
You flick your tongue over the pad of his thumb, grinning when he responds with a low groan. "Whatcha thinking about?" You giggle, looking up to meet his eyes.
"You," he simply answers, "on your knees."
You wiggle out of his arms, sinking to your knees before him. "Like this?" You encourage his fantasy, unbuttoning his jeans and pulling the zipper down. He nods, tucking his hair back and rutting his hips as you pull his jeans down just low enough to untuck him. "So fucking pretty," you whimper, wrapping your hand around the base and flicking your tongue over the crown of his cock.
He snorts. "Did you just call it pretty?"
"You call my pussy pretty, don't you?" You ask, spitting onto his head and pumping it up and down in languid strokes.
"Because it is, princess."
"Exactly!"
"Oh, fuck-!" You lower your mouth onto him, Nico tipping his head back as your warmth surrounds his tip. His precum sits on your tongue, a moan rattling along his shaft, and pulsating his balls. "Yeah, that's it." He feels your tongue run along the underside, licking along the sensitive strip, and swirl around his tip. "Don't be a tease-," he props his hand on the back of your head and nudges his hips forward, encouraging you to take more, "-and pretend like you can't take any more."
"Perhaps I need a little assistance," you goad, pulling off him with a pop and breaking a string of spit with your tongue. His cock slides in and out of your closed fist lubricated, albeit messily, with your spit. "Fuck my throat, baby," you whisper, before lazily kissing his tip.
"Up," he gives the one-worded demand, ignoring your protest as he hoists you to your feet.
You watch with disappointment hanging in your eyes as he tucks himself away, your feet stumbling back until you feel the counter pressed against you. "No fair," you mumble, grabbing a handful of his shirt, tugging him forwards, "I was having fun."
"You were being a brat," he disagrees, curling his hand around your neck and licking at the seem of your mouth, before crashing his lips against it. You willingly part your lips and let his tongue in, swallowing up his groans as you rub him through his jeans. "Stop it," he grumbles against you, grabbing your wrist and pinning it at your side.
You trail your mouth lazily down his neck, dragging your teeth over his Adam's apple. "Let me have my fun," you beg, sucking hard on the bottom of his neck.
"Oh, you'll have your fun, princess."
He lifts you onto the counter, the top cold against you, making you shiver. He bunches the end of your dress around your waist and pulls your panties to the side, chuckling like he knew you'd be soaked from sucking his cock. Another shiver licks up your spine as he runs his fingers gingerly against you, rubbing your clit in slow circles.
Taking two fingers, he pops them into his mouth and groans, tasting you as he sucks them clean.
"You'll have your fun coming for me," he insists, hooking his fingers under your panties, tearing them down as he sinks to his knees. He tucks them into his pocket and looks up at you with a grin. "And I want you to be loud," he lifts one leg over his shoulder, grazing his mouth along the inner of your thigh, "I want to make sure that pathetic excuse for an ex hears you."
A noise somewhere between a moan and a strangled gargling sound rockets up your throat as Nico latches his mouth around your pussy. Your fingers, itching to grab onto anything, fist their way into his hair, the soft strands slipping through them like strands of fine silk, and tug at them every time he does something you like. You moan his name loud and proudly, the excitement and the rush of your ex hearing you floods you with more arousal.
He switches between long, languid flicks of his tongue, the kind that teases out your desperate whimpers for more, licking you from bottom to top and sucking on your clit until you nearly squirm off the counter. "God-!" You tip your head back and tug on his hair. "I don't think I'll ever get used to this."
He grunts in agreement, licking his lips as pulls away, liking the way the taste of you coats every inch of his mouth. His hand slides up your thigh and teases your clit with his thumb. "He never treated you like this, did he?" He spreads you apart with his fingers, drool pooling in his mouth from how pretty you looked. "Couldn't fuck you the way a princess deserves to be fucked." He dips his head and flicks his tongue back and forth over your clit. "That's okay," he mumbles against you, "you've got me now."
You whimper, feeling the tip of his finger nudge against you. "Please," you nod, moaning and biting your lip, feeling your pussy clench around nothing when you look down to see him already staring up at you. He retracts his finger, earning himself a unhappy scowl. "Nico-"
"Louder," he cuts in, silencing your protest, "make sure he hears you." He rises to his feet, wiping his mouth and chin with his hand, before pressing it against the mirror, forcing you to lean back as he towers over you. "Let 'em all hear you," he corrects himself, possessiveness lacing his tone, "make sure every fucker who has looked at you tonight hears you beg for it." It was Nico's idea for you both to have a casual arrangement - someone to have a bit of fun with without the commitment that came with a relationship - but he sure hated the way this dress made people stare at you. You were his, not theirs. He was the one making you come most nights, not them. "Let 'em all know who you belong to."
"Nico-"
"Louder!"
You guide his hand between your thighs, bringing his fingers against your cunt, teasing your hole that was desperate for any attention. "Please," you whimper, bucking your hips, trying to push onto his fingers. He grunts but doesn't oblige. "Nico!" You whine, dragging his name out. It only earns you another chuckle. "Stop teasing me!"
He crashes his mouth down against yours, swallowing your moans as he finally pushes his finger inside. "Nice and warm for me," he mumbles, his tongue splitting your mouth open, tangling with your own. Little whimpers fill the bathroom as you taste yourself, the corners of his lips twitching upwards into half-smile. "Taste good, don't you, baby?"
You nod, raking your fingers through his hair and dragging his mouth back down for a second taste.
He withdraws his finger and adds a second, feeling you stretch to fit the girth of both. "So fucking tight," he breathes against you, pinching your bottom lip between his teeth.
"I guess you're just gonna have to stretch me out," you reply, sneaking your hand down the front of his jeans.
"Who knew a pretty mouth could say such filthy things?"
"It's all your doing," you giggle, kissing the underside of his stubbled jaw, "I was all sweet and innocent until you came along." He moans as you grab and untuck his cock, dipping to kiss down your neck to hide the pink flush of his cheeks. It sits thick and heavy inside your palm, the tip red and sensitive, dripping more pre-cum. You squeeze the head, feeling his hips rut up to find more friction, and run your thumb gingerly through the pearly beads. "You corrupted me."
"Corrupted?" He brings his thumb down against your clit, brushing it in circles, working it in tandem with his fingers. "No, baby," he tuts, resting his mouth against the shell of your ear. His breath on your skin makes you shiver, your cunt clenching hard around his fingers. "I cured your blindness, allowed you to see just how good sex could truly be."
You snort. "I never said the sex with him was bad." It was.
"You didn't need to," Nico says, withdrawing his fingers and sucking them clean. Just as you were about to whine, he dips, sinking onto one knee, and latches his mouth around your clit, sucking the nub between his lips. "God, I'll never get over how good you taste," he moans around you. Hooking his hands under your bum, he presses you firmly against his mouth, drilling his tongue deep inside. "That's it," he mumbles as you loudly for him, "atta girl! Let 'em hear you."
Reaching for him, you hold onto the back of his head, your fingers curling through his hair, keeping you upright as you rock your hips. "Jesus, Nico!" You moan his name, falling into the same rhythm as his tongue laps against your cunt. His nose bumps against your clit and your body jerks. "Fuck-!" You breathe out, the knot in your stomach tightening - you were so close to coming. "Don't stop!"
"Gonna come for me?" He peeks up at you, grinning into you as you dig your nails into his head, holding him still as you buck your hips wildly against him. "Yeah?" He chuckles, the vibrations rushing through you. "You are? Come on, princess, use your words."
"Yes, Nico!" Your face flushes with a searing heat as you cry out. "Fuck-! I'm coming!"
A light laugh emits from the back of his throat, drowned out by your loud cries. "That's it, buck into my face," he drags his tongue over your cunt, "give it to me - all of it; make a fucking mess." He pushes his tongue deeper inside, feeling a rush of warmth gush over him, and circles his arm around your thigh to brush his thumb over your clit. "That's it," he encourages, rubbing your clit in fast circles, trying to hold you in place as you thrash about, "good girl, so fucking good for me!"
Your body withers and shakes, hips trying to jerk away from his mouth as he brings you down from your high.
"I definitely think he heard you," Nico says, withdrawing himself from between your thighs, his mouth wet and his hair a complete mess. He rakes his hand over his hair, quickly fixing it. "I hope he did," he murmurs, hooking his fingers under your chin and drawing you close. The kiss is short and he pulls away licking his lips. "Come on, let's get out of here," he mumbles, fixing his jeans and helping you back onto your feet, "I'm not finished with you yet."

summary: You knew you loved him from the moment he said your name.
warnings: none really, just fluff! does kissing need a warning??
note: this is inspired by your bones by chelsea cutler and some of the dialogue in the end was heavily inspired by the lyrics.
It started out as an ordinary October day. You woke up and had a relatively easy day at work. You went home to get ready for dinner with some friends, carpooling with some of the others to save everyone a little bit of time and money. Dinner flew by with only minimal playful arguments, and those of who were there made the decision to meet up with another group at a bar in the city. You thought it was going to be the usual group of people you typically saw, but then you saw him.
When you walked to the back booth that often occupied the same group of people, you saw a few unfamiliar faces swimming in the sea of ones you recognized. You went around and greeted those who you knew, and introduced yourself to those who didn’t. Names were being thrown at you so quickly you could barely keep up, but when he spoke, you forgot all about them anyways.
Gentle brown eyes were staring into your own, a small smile that left dimples indenting his cheeks on his face as he kept his gaze on you. He was the only one who made a point to stand and greet you, sticking his hand out for your own as he kept his other nervously shoved into his pocket. You took his hand as you forced your name out, your cheeks and neck flushing as embarrassment flooded your body at how strained it sounded.
You could hear the playful giggles of your friends from beside you, but you let them fade into the background as he repeated your name back to you. The way the letters fell from his tongue left a permanent impression in your mind, and you knew you were screwed from then on. The moment his hand dropped yours, his voice still ringing in your ear, you knew your life had changed, but you had no idea just how it would change you.
That night, you left the bar with Nico’s phone number and plans to see each other that following Monday for dinner. You hadn’t been so nervous to go out with someone before, and you had recruited two of your closest friends to help you get ready and to ease some of the anxiety that had been bubbling in your chest since that Friday night. They helped you pick out the perfect outfit, helped calm you down when you wanted to spiral, and reminded you to have fun and enjoy yourself before they left.
When Nico arrived, you had the biggest smile on your face when he presented the beautiful bouquet of flowers he’d gotten for you, with the advice of your mutual friend who had told him what your favorite was. You had bashfully thanked Nico, asking him it was okay if you put them in a vase before you left. He caught you off guard by saying of course it was, but only if you let him do it for you. You watched as he assembled them for you with a racing heart, and you knew. You knew he was everything you had been waiting for.
“Ready,” Nico softly asked after placing the vase in the center of your dining room table, smile wide and eyes bright.
“You have no idea,” You grinned.
One date turned into multiple, and before you knew it, the two of you were officially together. He did everything for you, and you for him, and you were the happiest you’d ever been before. You had never felt so content, so excited for the future with someone than you when you were with Nico. He made the uncertainty of life seem exciting and worth experiencing, and you gave him a sense of purpose outside of hockey. You gave Nico something to look forward to every time he stepped off the ice, and he’d been waiting for that feeling for so long.
Your friends often told you that you were now unrecognizable, but it wasn’t because you had changed anything about your appearance. It was because you were so undeniably happy and it wasn’t often that they saw you without a smile on your face. They had never seen you so carefree and excited about life before, and no one wanted you to ever go back. They had always told you that you deserved a love that consumes you in all the best ways, and you had found that with Nico.
Your first Summer with Nico, he had invited you to Switzerland to see his home and to meet his family. You accepted the offer with no hesitation, and that’s how you found yourself currently curled up in his lap as the sun beat down on your skin and laughter echoed around you. His arm was wrapped around your waist, fingers rubbing against the damp skin as he talked with his siblings.
Your head was tucked into the crook of his neck, your hand resting comfortably on the toned muscles of his stomach as you subtly gazed up at him. The sun hit his eyes just perfectly, making them shine brighter and showcase the mixture of dark colors in the most breathtaking way. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched him, the same warm feeling you always got when you even thought of him spreading from your chest. Though, you weren’t sure it had left since his deep, accented voice had said your name in the bar many months ago.
“You gonna stare at me all day,” He teases, his hand flexing on the skin of your hip as he looks down at you.
“Yeah, if you’ll let me,” You hummed, playfully poking your tongue out at him.
“I’d let you do anything, you know that,” He rolls his eyes, before settling back on your face, “Are you having fun?”
Both of you pause for a fleeting moment, keeping your eyes trained on the other. Your mind briefly drifts to thoughts of the last several months you’d spent with him. You truly had never felt the way you felt for him before, and the fact that Nico felt the same way for you baffled you every day you spent with him. If you asked him, though, he’d tell anyone who would listen how insanely lucky he was to experience the love you had to give.
“I am,” You nod, a delicate smile on your sunburnt face, “Thank you for inviting me.”
“Wherever I am, you are always welcome. No matter what, meine schatzi,” He quietly says as he places a small kiss to your temple, ignoring the way his brother and sister are watching him with bright smiles. He squeezes the flesh of your hip before he continues, “C’mon. I want to show you something.”
“What,” You ask, pushing yourself away from him as you furrow your brows.
“You’ll see.”
You carefully step off of his lap, meeting Nina’s gaze as she smiles, which you return with one of your own. Nico stands, nodding to your sandals as he helps you into the light dress you wore as a coverup. He slips his shirt on over his head, stepping into his shoes before taking your hand in his own and tugging you down the dock, away from his siblings. You let him guide you away from the crowd of people and to a more secluded corner of the beach until it was just the two of you.
“Why are we hiding from everyone,” You raise your eyebrows, turning your head to look at him.
He tugs you into his chest, dropping your hand so he can pull you in closer as he says, “Just wanted to kiss you in private.”
You loop your arms around his neck as you shake your head in amusement, your melodic laughter being smothered by his mouth as he presses it to your own. You melt into him, your soft lips molding against his as his fingers press into the material of your dress. His chest is pressed against your own as he moves his mouth with yours in the type of kiss that leaves your mind hazy and warmth flood from your chest through every inch of your body.
Nico pulls away from you, his forehead pressed against your own as the two of you breath in sync. Your eyes stay closed as you let yourself remain in the moment, thinking of nothing but the feeling of him against you and the ghost of his lips on yours.
“I love you,” You mumble, eyes fluttering open to meet his, “I love you so much. Wherever you are is where I wanna be.”
“I love you,” He stressed, his eyes dancing across your face,  “I love you all the way down to your bones. You make every hard day worth it and every good day the best day of my life. I know we still have some time to get there, but I can’t wait til you're mine forever.”
“I’m always yours forever, no matter what.”

take care of you

after a long night of clubbing all you want is just to rest, your boyfriend is there to take care of you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i am almost black out drunk, the multiple shots of tequila going straight to my head. my boyfriend nico stays beside me the entire time, monitoring everything i drink, everywhere i go, trying to keep me safe.
since it’s hockey season, nico isn’t drinking alcohol, so when i want to go for a night out he’s my designated driver and personal bodyguard guard.
i pound back one more shot while he isn’t looking, he turns when he hears the glass smack against the counter. i stare at him all bug eyed, “come on Y/N, that’s enough for the night.”
“no, one more.” i slur out, i try to grab another shot from someone at the bar, but nick grabs my arms, hauling me into him.
“come on, i think it’s time to get you home.” his hands switch, one on my waist keeping me upright, and one helping me sling my arm around his shoulders. i groan as he wrestles his way out the crowd with me by his side.
nico finally manages to get me out of the club, getting us back to our car and picking me up into my seat. as soon as my body hits the comfy car seat, i almost knock out clean.
my body goes to sleep, but my mind somehow flights it. staring out the windows at the passing lights as my brain visits a different place. nico’s hand is on my thigh, rubbing up and down soothingly.
once we get into the driveway, he lugs me into the house. helping me take off my shoes, one by one, and then my jacket. my body falls into him, pulling him into a long bear hug.
he giggles, pulling me in by my waist and placing his head on top of mine. my head digs into his chest, god i could just fall asleep right here. a loud groan releases from my mouth, “i’m so tired.”
i can feel my whole body relaxing as one of his hands leave waist and tangle in my hair. his large hands rub my scalp, fingers combing through my hair. it feels like a hundred pound weight is taken off my shoulders, i lean against his chest letting him take the weight of me.
“you want to go to bed sweetheart?” he whispers to me. i nod my head again his chest, not even wanting to lift my head off the cushion of his skin. he lets out a soft giggle, knowing that i don’t even want to move the new feet to our bedroom, he sweeps me up.
my head is resting on his shoulder as he carries me to our bed. a deep and exhausted moan comes out of my mouth as my body finally hits the soft mattress. nico helps pull the covers over me, the lights stay off to help the headache that’s starting to creep up on me.
i so badly just want to roll over on my bed, lay on my stomach and just let the soft feathered pillows engulf my body. fuck, i’m still wearing makeup. “ugh, baby can you get me a makeup wipe from the bathroom?” i ask, giving him slight puppy dog eyes.
nico just chuckles, making his way to the bathrooms to get me what i want. it doesn’t take him long to find the wipes and finally return to be half dozed off in the bed. i fight the urge to sleep, grabbing the wipe from his hand and lazily wiping the long days makeup off of my face.
rubbing my eyes free of mascara i feel so much better, my face finally being free of my caked up face. i toss the wipe over the end of the bed, not caring about where it ends up or when ill pick it up.
i finally roll over onto my side, smushing my face into the white pillow case. one pillow finds its way into my arms, hugging it to fill the empty where nico would usually be. my eyes close, not being able to stay open enough to wait for nico to come to bed.

my heads pounding in my head, my whole body feels so heavy as i manage to lift myself to sit up in the bed. i groan but instantly regretting it, i can barely even breathe without it hurting my head. i’m about to move the sheets from off my body to grab some pills when i look over at the nightstand.
sitting next to my charging phone is a water bottle filled with cold water and advil. a smile spreads on my lips, nico snores beside me, i can’t help my feel my heart explode with happiness. he went out of his way last night to keep me safe, get me home, ready for bed and think ahead to grab me medicine. god i love this man so fucking much.
i pop the pills back in my mouth, swallowing them down with a huge gulp of water. it doesn’t take long for the advil to kick in, my head has stopped pounding with every breath i’m taking, my joints relax as i still haven’t left my bed since waking up.
nico finally starts to stir, quickly after he wakes up, turning over to look at me. i comb my hair through his bed head, he offers me a soft smile as my fingers lightly scratch at his scalp. “good morning.” i whisper.
“good morning baby, how you feeling?” his head goes to my chest, bringing me into a hug. my hands are still entangled in nico’s hair, letting him use me as a human shield.
i sigh, “oh i’m fine, i think i’m just going to lay low today.”
“i have practice at 11, so you can stay home and ill bring home some food and coffee after. we can just rest for today.” he knows that’s exactly what i want to hear, sometimes i think he knows me better than i know myself.
•°. *࿐
nico’s been gone for around two hours, i stay in our bed alone, completely cocooned in the bedsheets. i’ve switched from watching my show to being on my phone, and i feel completely brain rotted.
i keep chugging back water hoping that my hangover will just magically disappear. as expected, nothing is working. i stay rotting away in my empty bed while my eyes stay trained on the softly dimmed television screen.
i’ve basically tuned everything out, i don’t hear as the keys jingle in the lock and the front door opens. suddenly nico walks in the door, my head comes out of its haze and a bright smile warms my face.
nico’s accompanied by a pizza and my favourite starbucks drink. i let out a quiet exclaim, my body language pulling nico to me. “how was practice baby?” i ask, he hands me my drink before giving me a quick kiss on the lips.
“it was good, we just ran the same drills. nothing too special happened. how’re you feeling?” the pizza gets placed on my lap just as nico flops in the bed next to me. i open the box, the steam and waft of the pizza hits my face making my stomach immediately grumble.
“i’m getting better, resting is helping. i’m just so tired, and hungry.” i don’t waste a second, grabbing a slice of the steaming pizza and taking a bite. nico helps himself, grabbing the television remote as he settles back down.
“so what’re you thinking we watch? action, comedy, horror, romance…” he dreads the last option will be my answer. although he hates romance movies, he always suffers through them with me.
i laugh, “i’m in the mood for some stupid ass comedy movie.”
“hmm, how about 21 jump street? you seen that?” he questions, flicking through netflix’s home screen. he’s already on his second slice of pizza as i start nibbling on the crust, ripping apart the tough dough.
my eyes narrow at him, “are you kidding, of course i’ve seen that movie, it’s a classic comedy. we’re watching it, i love that movie.” i make my decision, not wanting to settle for anything less than my choice.
he laughs at me, putting the movie on and finishing most of the pizza. by the time there is only one or two slices gone, my starbucks has two sips left, my head is against nico’s chest, using him as a pillow. his hand is around my back, rubbing up and down soothingly.
the warmth, darkness and comfortable position makes my eyes start to lower. my breath is slowed and head in the clouds, my mind starts to leave away from me. with a few more rubs of my back, i’m fast asleep against his chest.

switzerland was a beautiful place, and perhaps one of your favourite places to visit.
when you suggested visiting for christmas, nico readily agreed. he loved his home, he really did. and he loved seeing you fall in love with it as well.
which led you to where you were now, standing near the window and watching the sun rise in one of the most beautiful places you'd ever been.
"i love this," you muttered. "it's so beautiful."
nico nodded, his eyes trained on you. "beautiful."
you blushed, noticing what he was doing, but you were well prepared. nico had always been a flirt, and now that you were in switzerland, he had the home advantage.
you knew he wasn't going to let up. and you were okay with that.
"quit flirting and get changed," you patted his shoulder as you headed out of the room. "we need to get breakfast and then explore this lovely place. hurry."
"yes ma'am," he saluted.
you rolled your eyes, heading downstairs to put your shoes on.
nico had grown up in this area and he knew all of the best spots to eat. there was actually this one breakfast spot that opened early every morning and had the best food ever.
it was where you two were headed now.
"finally," you pocketed your phone as nico came downstairs. "i'm hungry."
"what a lovely name, i'm nico," he responded.
you gave him a deadpan look, before bursting out into laughter. nico laughed as well, holding out his arm.
you took it, walking down the streets together. you stopped on the way often, to spin around, to pet a dog that someone was walking, or to simply take in the scenic views.
it was beautiful, absolutely breathtaking in your eyes.
the way everything looked was so different to what you were used to, but at the same time, it was just perfect. it was home to nico.
and now, it was home to you too.

Sunshine | N. Hischier

summary: you were the teams black cat, grumpy nurse, but Nico, the teams sunshine captain, breaks that assumption.

“I think you should just see, you never know.”
“He’s so… sunshine though.”
She rolled her eyes at the words, lightly smacking your arm.
“He is not! Besides, you could use a little sunshine.”
“He’s like a golden retriever!” you groaned, earning a laugh.
“He’s not blonde though.”
“A black lab.”
“One chance, babe. Give him one, add a little sunshine to your life.”
The words haunted your mind, following you everywhere. Making you constantly think of him, getting worse when you were at work.
The gentle knocking on your office door broke you from your thought, yelling a ‘come in’ to whoever was out there.
“Well well, if it isn't sunshine.” you grinned, pushing away all the other thoughts of him flooding your mind. He pushed a hand through his hair, a small smile forming on his lips.
“Sunshine, hmm?”
“It’s just an inside thing, so what up neeks?”
“I got slammed into the boards in practice, coach made me leave to see you.”
“Where’d you get slammed?”
“My shoulder.”
You got up, walking over to him, leading him down onto the bed in the corner.
“Can I?” he nodded, letting you touch his shoulder, immediately wincing after. “You did some damage.”
“Not me, Jack.” he groaned.
“Well, it looks like Jack managed a hit that dislocated your shoulder.”
He groaned at the words, muting curses at Jack under his breath.
“I can pop it back in, you should skip the rest of practice today but fine for the next, okay?”
He hummed in response, letting you give warning it would hurt, earning another nod. So you fixed it as quickly as you can, earning many groans in the process.
“Fuck!” he cursed, making you pause to check on him.
“Are you okay, neek?”
“Mhm.” he nodded, clearly not enthusiastic about the pain he was enduring.
“We’re done.”
“Thank God!” he grinned, moving his arm slightly, still a little sore, discomfort on his face. “I’ll go now, thank you.” he had his signature smile on his face the entire time, barely letting you rattle off any safely protocols.
He was out quickly, almost running back to the locker rooms, assumingly to yell as Jack. letting you grab your phone to immediately text your friend.
‘He just dislocated his shoulder, he was still smiling the entire time!’
‘He’s sunshine for a reason, you could use him.’
‘I’m not taking sunshine out.’
‘Your loss, if you won’t I will’
The message leaving a unfamiliar feeling bubbling in you, not wanting him with anyone else. Of course that wasn’t up to you, unless you did something about it, but he was so happy, bubbly the opposite of what you showed.
Another knock on your door pulled you from the messages, calling the person to enter, seeing Jack walk in after.
“Jack.” you nodded, letting him repeat your name back to you with a nod. “What’s up?”
“Nico may have punched me, very hard, and I just want to know how bad it is. It fucking hurts!” he grimaced.
“Sit.” you ordered, getting him to sit on the bed, walking over to examine the darkening bruise on him.
“You know, you and cap would be so good together.” you choked on air at the words, making you back away from jack for a minute.
“What?”
“He’s so sunny and you're so, how do I say this, grumpy.” he deadpanned, making you roll your eyes, lightly smacking the back of his arm.
“I am not going out with sunshine.”
“Aw you gave him a nickname.” Jack cooed, earning another smack, this time harder. “Ouch.” he groaned.
“Shut it, jack.” you return to see how badly he’d bruise, seeing nothing major. “It’ll just bruise, might be tender, but your fine, not going to kill your hockey skills.”
“Thanks, oscar.”
“Oscar?”
“You know, oscar the grouch?”
“Go home jack.” you deadpanned at him, raising his arms in false surrender, backing out before yelling to you once more.
“I’ll tell sunshine to meet you at six! He’ll pick you up.”
“JACK!” running out the door after him, grabbing him tightly when you caught him. “What the fuck?”
“Calm, calm. I didn’t tell cap anything, yet, but your reaction proves me correct. You like cap.” he smirked, earning a tighter grip on his arms, making him whine and try to pull away.
“I do not.”
“Don’t lie.” the smirk never left his face, even when you pulled away to answer your phone.
“Hmm?”
Your friend on the other line, loudly talking about Nico, and her plan to ask him out now. The thought of jack standing in front of you left your mind, letting your shoulders drop and a sour look return to your face.
“Okay, I love you, but please I’m at work.”
“Right right, sorry, I’ll let you go! I hope he says yes!” and she hung up, leaving you to shake your head.
“You completely like him!” he sounded like a teen girl gossiping to her friends
“Quit it jack.”
“Give it a chance, grump. Come on, you're perfect together, it’s literally grumpy and happy, sunshine and rain. You're perfect for each other!”
“I said quit it! I’m not going out with Nico, he doesn’t like me, I don’t like him!”
“Stop lying!” Jack groaned. “He likes you, you like him.”
He glared at you, giving the most serious face you’d ever seen from Jack, earning a sigh to fall from your lips.
“He doesn’t like me, we’re polar opposites!”
“That’s what makes it perfect!”
You could hear the footsteps behind you, barely giving you the time to turn around before someone was hugging you.
“What the fuck?” was all you could mumbled out, being held against them, earning a laugh from them. Nico.
“Neek?”
“Hi.”
“Why’re you still here?”
“Jack needed a ride home.”
“Oh.” Of course, it’s not like he’d stay for no reason, but you forgot Jack was there the minute his arms surrounded you.
You didn’t hear the words said between Jack and Nico, letting yourself find comfort in his warmth this once. Staying against him until he moved, making you move away, groaning.
“My personal heater!” Nico laughed, bringing you back into his arms after he sat on the floor.
“I’ll stay your heater as long as you want.” heat rose to your cheeks, burying in his chest to hide quickly, a small smile on your face.
“I made them smile!” he sounded so proud, jack, who now sat beside him, rolled his eyes.
“You know, I might've heard some of your conversation.” Nico whispered, making you shoot up from his chest, staring at him with wide eyes.
“What?” panic filled your chest, his hands immediately running circles on your skin to calm you.
“Calm baby, is s’okay.” the words giving no comfort. “I’m not going to say yes to your friend.”
“Oh.” that conversation.
“I’d rather go out with someone else.” your heart dropped again, but letting yourself try to move on.
“Well I hope they say yes.”
“Me too,” he grinned, placing a kiss on the side of your head. “So, will you go out with me?”
Expect the unexpected, right? Yet, you were not prepared for that, choking on air again.
“What?” you managed to cough out, his hands running up and down your back softly.
“Do you want to go out with me?” A small nod was all you could manage, letting you watch the smile grow on his face, jumping up quickly. Spinning around, spinning you in his arms, laughing the entire time, earning a few laughs from you.
“I’ll pick you up at six, okay?” he grinned, his smile never faltering, letting you nod back. He place one last kiss to your temple before running off with Jack, letting you comprehend everything.
In a haste calling your friend, explaining what just happened, and asking what to do.
“Go get ready, dummy!”
Rushing home, for no reason, giving you just over three hours. Choosing your average attire, not knowing what he was doing, letting you sit and overthink everything before the sound of your doorbell pulled you away, running to go open it. Nico, with a bouquet of flowers in hand, stood outside, making you melt a little at the sight.
“I got you these.” he passed you the flowers, letting you put them in water before leading you to his car. Making sure to open the door for you, buckling your seatbelt for you, and then running over to his side, starting the car swiftly.
“So, where are we going?”
“I asked your friends, and they were pretty unhelpful,” he laughed, “But I thought something casual at first, then we’ll go out alone later.” he grinned, making you slightly smile at him.
“So others are there too?”
“Yeah, I hope that’s okay, I thought it was a good time for team bonding, and you’ve gotta be a part of the team now.”
“Oh, do i?” teasing, but a small moment of panic flashed Nico, making sure you grabbed his hand to calm him.
“Please?”
The drive wasn’t long, holding Nico’s hand the entire time, him making sure you stayed in the car til he could run over. Opening your door for you, grabbing your hand again after, leading you in.
“CAP!” was cheered at him, his teammates immediately spotting him.
“Well would ya look at that,” one of the boys started, “our little sunshine cap and the black cat nurse.” he grinned, earning a smack from you, a laugh from Nico.
“It’s so cliché!” Jesper added, “Grumpy and sunshine!”
“Stop.” you groaned, turning into Nico. letting his arms wrap around you, keeping you tight against his chest.
“See I bet if I did that they’d stab me.” Jack groaned from the side, earning a side glare, making him cower behind Dougie.
Nico, maneuvering with you in his arms, sat down beside Dougie, pulling you up into his lap to sit.
The night went on similarly, never ending comments about their ‘sunshine, happy’ cap and the ‘black cat, grumpy’ nurse, until you yelled at them, making them all freeze, the comments ending right after. Sharing drinks with Nico, never leaving his side. Until he left for a few minutes, leaving you to speak with Timo
“I would’ve never expected you to be so… clingy?” you knew he meant nothing with the words, letting him say what he wanted, cutting Timo off after a minute.
“Only with certain people, I have to really trust them. The black cat thing kinda just came up, it was my way of keeping people out.”
“You know you don’t have to keep us out, we won’t hurt you and if we did I think Nico would kill us.” you grinned at the words, making him smile back at you.
 “Maybe.”
“Maybe?”
“Maybe I’ll let you in.” the smile on his face grew, opening his arms, giving you a cue, if you wanted, to hug him. You slid in his arms, letting them secure around you, an oddly comforting feeling.
“TIMO CAN HUG YOU BUT I CAN’T!” Jack's voice yelled towards the scene, making you pull away to glare at him. “See! They hate me.” he dramatically groaned.
“Jack.” the stern voice luring to run behind Jesper, yet again. “Come here.” slowly, he walked over, looking like a child in trouble.
You open your arms when he a got close, seeing the smile arise on his face, he quickly jumped into you. Snaking his arms around you, letting the two of you hug for about 30 seconds before he was bouncing off the walls again.
“They don’t hate me!” he almost screamed, running around now, telling everyone, making you laugh at his antics.
“What did you do?” the words spoken right beside your ear, making you jump a little at the feeling of his warm breath on your neck and his arms around your waist.
“I gave him a hug.” Nico laughed at the confession, letting you feel the movement from his chest, tugging you down onto his lap when he sat down again.
“You’re gorgeous” he murmured, pressing his lips lightly on your neck, making you lean to give him more access.
“You’re so pretty, neeks.” making him lift from his place of leaving kiss down your neck, turning you around in his lap to face you. Letting you hold eye contact with him for a minute, letting him lean in. placing a gentle kiss to your lips, reciprocating immediately. Melting against him, your hands running through his hair while he held you tight around the waist.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted this.” he mumbled against your lips, moving to pepper you with kisses, making you laugh.
“I swear this is the most I’ve ever seen them smile in a day!” the voice belonging to Dawson, who sat with Ryleigh in his lap. A chorus of agreement flooding in after.
“What? I like Nico, can you blame me?” laughter from the team filled the space, a smile and more kisses from Nico following.
“Can we go home?” your question was quiet, but Nico was listening, nodding before picking you up.
“Goodnight!” he yelled to his team, leaving with a chorus of other goodnights and some use protection jokes. Carrying you to his car, setting you in the passenger seat, buckling your seatbelt, and then running over to his side just like before.
“Such a gentleman.” you cooed, when he got in, him leaning over for another kiss.
This time, his hand stayed on your thigh the entire drive, rubbing soft circles. Until he pulled into your driveway, making sure you stayed til he could open your door again. Following you to your door.
“Are you going to stay out there all night?”
“Do you want me to come in?”
“Mhm, need some cuddles.” he grinned at the words following you in, sitting on the couch with you, letting you lay on him while he rubbed your back, some random show on tv.
Staying like that until you were about to fall asleep, fighting to stay awake, the consistent beating of his heart and his gentle touch luring you to sleep.
“I’ll bring you to your room, which one?” he asked picking you up.
“Second door on the left down the hall.” you managed before yawning. Letting him bring you to your room. He set you on your bed gently, kissing your temple again.
“Goodnight, love.”
“You’re not staying?” the tiniest bit of hurt could be heard in your voice, making him immediately freeze.
“Do you want me to?”
“Please.” you murmured, your arms reached out for him. Letting him slide in your arms, rolling to lay with you against his side.
“Are we really going to sleep in our clothes?” you asked, noticing both of your attires.
“I don’t have any other clothes.”
You groaned, getting out of bed, ruffling through your closet, grabbing any random shirts you had that could fit him and throwing them to Nico.
“Should fit.” you mumbled, turning to change into another one to sleep in. Sliding back in beside Nico, where he was now fitted in a random t-shirt and his boxers. Letting him pull you tight against him, his grip tight but not too, leaving a few kisses to your neck before giving you one last proper kiss, whispering some sweet words in German, kissing your temple once more after.
“Goodnight, meine liebe.” he mumbled against your hair, your head against his chest letting his heartbeat lull you back into a peaceful sleep, not not before whispering him a goodnight in return, making a reminder to figure out what ‘meine liebe’ means in the morning.

a/n: YOU KNOW I HAD TO DO IT FOR MY MAN!!! (i also changed it from bsf to just gf so sorry abt that but i’m planning a bsf fic for jack!!)
Tumblr media
your staring didn't go unnoticed by nico, watching as he leant down against the table, chest nearly touching the dark wood rim as he lined up his shot, concentration written over his face. it was so effortless, a quick flick of his wrist and the ball was being pocketed, the sound of it rolling down the runner and settling with the rest of them eliciting a groan from you.
you were losing to him again, what seemed to be the tagline of the night as pool had never been your thing, more of a darts girl from the night you'd been dragged to the bars with your dad to watch football.
nico rounded the table, brown eyes glancing up to yours with a teasing look in them, fire burning behind them because he wanted to beat you, before lowering his body down to the eye-line of the ball and lining up his cue. this was the last ball left, and he was making a whole show of it, licking his lips as he concentrated on the relatively easy shot, before as you suspected pocketing that one too. adding another win to his tally and another for your loss.
"why don't we make this more interesting?" you rose and eyebrow at his question, eyeing up your boyfriend as he was wearing that white shirt you loved, tight around his forearms to accentuate his muscles, and you didn't bother to hide your gawking as he brought the bottle of beer up to his lips, the way his adams apple bobbed as he swallowed the liquid. "pot a ball, i lose my shirt. i pot a ball, you lose yours."
the smirk was evident on his face, he was confident enough that he'd win, and you weren't about to give him that satisfaction. "fine, hope you enjoy playing pool naked."
"i know you'd enjoy that." he jested, chalking the cue you had been using before handing it to you and doing the same to his own.
you let out a scoff at his joke, rolling your eyes although you knew a large part of you would love it, and you couldn't help but imagine it when he organised the balls backed into the triangle, the same order he'd done the other times he'd won, some type of superstition like the ones he'd do before games.
nico just let out a deep laugh at your reaction, the sound rumbling from his chest something you truly would never get tired of hearing even if it was at your expense. he rolled the cue ball up to you from the other end of the table, setting it in the right spot for you to break. "show me what you've got baby."
he watched as you put your weight onto one of your legs, leaning down over the table and getting a good view under the low cut neckline of your tank top. the look in your eyes was something he found adorable, so desperate to beat him that you were so focused on the cue ball, even when you knocked the cue forward only for it to skid over the let you take another shot.
this time you made contact, sending the white ball towards the neatly set up triangle of coloured ones, breaking them and spreading them across the lower part of the table even getting close to potting one of them.
nico eyed up one of the shots, bending down against the table and hitting it with ease, pocketing the first ball of the game and he sent you a wink, thinking over which piece of your clothes would go first.
"shorts, schatzi." he placed the cue under his chin, eyes not leaving your body as you slipped off the grey atheltic shorts you were wearing and tossed them at him, a smirk gracing his lips when you only glared at him.
you wasted no time in finding the easiest angle on the table, pressing your body against the table as you tried to get make the cue comfortable in your hands, so focused that hadn't noticed nico leaving the bottom of the table and making his way behind you.
his hands grabbed onto your hips, a firm hold on the exposed skin, straightening up to the position you were in so that you weren't leaning so much over and you sucked in a breath, the warmth spreading across your lower half from the lack of clothing. "don't pout, just focus on the ball." one of his hands moved from your hips, fixing the way your fingers were wrapped around the cue and helping you angle it properly with his hand lightly on top of yours. "see, now try."
you shouldn't have as affected by the close proximity as you were, over two years of dating and you still felt like a school girl when he was that close to you, all giggly and blushing. goosebumps rose on your bare arms, your legs involuntarily spreading just a little further apart when he pressed his chest flush against your back.
he must've noticed you losing focus on the game, pulling your arm back with his own and hitting the cue ball, watching as it made contact with the one you'd been aiming at before sending it to back of the pocket. even after the shot had went in nico didn't move, keeping still against your back and soon you were chest to chest when you turned to meet his eyes.
"well captain, i think its only fair you lose the shirt." you pushed the cue in your hand against his neck, marking the muscle with the blue chalk, you swore you saw his eyes darken before he took a step back from you and reached for the hem of his shirt and bringing it over his head.
heat travelled through your body at the sight, hundreds maybe even thousands of times you'd seen nico shirtless, every morning and night, every shower you shared, and yet every time he managed to knock the air from your lungs like it was the first time, especially when he took off the cap and ruffled the mess of his hair like he was doing now.
you desperately wanted nothing more than to run your hands over his bare chest, to feel every ridge of his toned muscles and the warmth that radiated from him. but you held back, you weren't going to be the one to break first. instead you watched him move around the table, the muscles in his back catching your eye and you took a sharp breath, before redirecting your eyes back to the table.
you had to make him break.
he hit the cue a little harder this time, watching the white ball strike one of the plain coloured ones before it too found home in the back of a pocket, his eyes snapping back to your body, cocking his head to the side as he looked at what piece he wanted to go next, and he really had limited options with the minimal clothes you'd opted to wear. "shirt."
it was all he said and yet you rushed to take it off, not even trying to make it seem sexy before it was thrown onto the floor, revealing the baby pink set you'd had on underneath, the one you'd been waiting for him in whilst his teammates had been over playing, and then the games he'd made you play with him, now he was finally seeing it.
you felt the goosebumps rise on your lace clad body, unaware of wether or not it was the rush of cold air from being so exposed or the intensity of his eyes that caused them, his eyes that you could stare into for days, he could ask you to jump off a bridge and as long as he flashed you those puppy dog eyes you'd oblige without a second thought.
the shorts he was wearing did nothing to hide the obvious hard on he had, almost taunting showing it off to you, and you couldn't wait for them to finally be off, rushing the next shot you took, still adapting the corrections nico had given you and the next ball was potted, joining the other four and the swissman already knew what was coming.
he kept eye contact as he took off the sweat shorts he had on, the black boxers underneath the only thing left covering his body and you could see him straining against the material. you tried your best to not let your eyes linger, knowing it would only add to his teasing, no doubt something along the lines of 'staring is rude'.
"last shot." you watched as he left the spot he was in, discarded shorts left somewhere on the floor and find his next shot, the winning shot, and you were in perfect line with the jack when he stopped just right behind you. his body was pressed into the back of yours, feeling the warmth coming from his and hitting off of your own. involuntarily you pushed your hips back against him, feeling him against your ass and his hands held onto them, holding you still. "careful." nico's voice was low, accent somehow thicker and you could hear the lust that dripped from the word.
you could feel his breath on the back of your body, and he cursed under his breath when he felt you push against him again, ignoring his prior warning when he skidded the cue, missing his shot. "want a second chance?" you teased him, practically rolling your hips against his clothed cock now, your own underwear already drenched. he only huffed in response, but still leant down to take the shot, this time hitting it dead on, no thanks to your actions, and potted the black 8 ball.
"i win." nico practically whispered, lips so close to your ears that you could feel his lips brushing against them when he spoke. truth be told, you'd lost interest in the game the minute he'd taken his shirt off, barely focusing on anything else other than the way his arms flexed when he positioned the cue. you felt his hands lightly trace over your back, finding the freckles in between your shoulder blades and the clasp of the lacey bra you were wearing, taking it between his fingers and snapping it back against your skin.
you hissed at the stinging sensation, being soothed over by his calloused fingers before he unclasped the delicate lace, only your straps keeping it up now. "nico-" his name fell from your lips in a small whimper, driving him fucking crazy, one of his hands falling to the small of your back to squeeze the skin there when he moved the straps of your bra down your arm till it fell against the pool table.
nico felt his own impatience taking over, hands already reaching to the front of your body to squeeze your breasts, feeling your back arch into his chest when he rolled your nipples between his fingers, whines escaping your lips. you rolled your hips back against him, hearing him groan from the stimulation when he was forced to move from of his hands from your chest to your hips, stopping your movements. “wanna fuck you first, schatzi.”
“please, nico.” you weren’t exactly sure what you were asking him for, just that you needed it now, for him to touch you anywhere, just to feel him enough that you were begging for it, no longer wanting the teasing.
“not yet,” he had his own plans on how to deal with you however, a harsh kiss pressed to the side of your neck to begin the train he set till he met your collarbone, grazing his teeth over the skin and soothing over the sting with his tongue before repeating the action in another spot and leaving purple and red blossoming splotches in his wake. “wanna taste you first.”
you were pressed back against the pool table, nico’s hands hooking underneath the waistband of your panties when he pulled them down your legs, leaving you bare in front of him, the cold hitting your body as goosebumps rose on your skin. his eyes seemed to darken more than they had before, a light blush coating his cheeks like it had the first time he’d seen you naked.
nico spread your legs apart when he lifted you to sit on the wooden part of the table, pressing kisses against your skin when, squeezing your thighs when he met them and leaving marks leading to where you needed him most. “such a pretty pussy,” you rolled your head back when you felt his breath hitting your centre, teasing you further, before he gently swiped a finger over your slit, causing your hips to desperately buck into his hand. “all for me?”
you nodded your head, thoughts barely coherent when he pressed his thumb against your clit, driving your mind haywire, even more so when he flattened his tongue against you. he gave you no time react before his mouth found its way to your clit, your hand instantly reaching for his hair when it became tangled in the brown mess he usually wore under a cap, inadvertently pushing his face closer to your core.
the other hand was wrapped around the edge of the table, gripping onto the dark wood that your knuckles were turning white, thighs tightening around his head like you were scared he’d move. he grabbed one of your legs, hooking it over his shoulder to allow himself a better angle, gently grazing his teeth over your clit which had you nearly falling off the table from the shock but it elicited a loud moan of his name from you.
there was no stopping the noises that came from your mouth, whimpers, whines and moans of his name falling from your lips at his relentless attack on your cunt. “fuck, nico-“ your words only spurred him on, clenching around his fingers when he curled two of them inside you, the feeling of that and his tongue circling your clit had you tumbling towards your first orgasm.
your head fell back, mouth open in a silent moan and eyes screwed shut from the pleasure and when nico looked up he swore he saw heaven, wanting to take a picture of the sight of you forever, and he was determined to get you your release. every nerve in your body felt alive, hairs rising on your skin, and your fingers digging into nico’s scalp as you gripped harder onto the brown strands.
“know you can take it, just another minute.” he mumbled, not wanting to leave from against you and the vibration sent shockwaves through your body. his lips quicken against you, his fingers moving inside you at a bruising pace that it almost has you cumming right then and there but its his words that finally get you over. “let go for me, schatzi.”
he feels your legs shake around his head, squeezing him in and keeping him in his place between them, the hand in his hair having a hold thats teetering on painful of his hair, but he only groaned against you at the feeling. when his fingers leave you there an empty feeling, despite his mouth still working you through the aftershocks you’re clenching around nothing.
you don’t even realise when he’s stood up, only knowing when he presses his lips against yours, slipping his tongue in your mouth and moaning when you taste yourself on him, a groan escaping his throat when you squeeze him through his boxers, that had gotten even tighter on his now, and you felt him twitch when you pressed a finger against him. “nico, let me make you feel good,”
he hated having to deny you, especially when you sounded so desperate to give him his own release, but all he could think about when you looked up at him with those doe eyes was being inside of you. “not today, just wanna be inside you.” you let out a whine from your swollen lips at his words.
nico finally took off the boxers he was wearing, pulling you into another kiss before he pushed into you without any warning, just as desperate for you as you were for him and you felt it in the way he twitched inside of you, bottoming out and biting on your lower lip as small moan threatened to escape his mouth. he looked down to where you were both connected, throwing his head back as he let out a groan, his neck on full display when you took the opportunity to leave your own marks.
you weren’t as forceful as him but enough to leave purple bruises when your lips had moved on, whispering words he’d taught you in his native language that drove. him. mad. nothing was more of a turn on to him than hearing you speak german, even if the accent wasn’t there he was in love with the fact you tried. “i fucking love you.” he punctuated his words with a thrust of his hips, having you practically clutching onto his shoulders to stay up.
nico’s hands didn’t stay on a singular place on your body for longer than a few seconds, needing to explore every curve as if it was his first time ever having you like this and eventually he found the base of your neck, pressing into the bruises he’d left earlier which had you whining into his shoulder. his hand captures the expanse of your neck, the ring on his one finger slightly digging into the skin when the tips of his fingers tightened just a little.
your eyes snapped to meet his, this was uncharted territory, something you’d only discussed but hadn’t ever gotten to yet which was unusual with you and him. sex wasn’t a taboo subject in your relationship, you both talked about what you wanted and didn’t want, which helped making what happened in bed a whole lot easier. you nodded your head, albeit a bit hesitantly, but you were fully in when his hand held a strong grip around your throat, your head feeling fuzzy and your eyes just closing shut when he tapped on the underside of your jaw.
“eyes open, want you to see who’s making you feel this good.”
tears glosses over your eyes, threatening to break and roll down your cheeks when his pace quickened, adding his other hand between your leg to circle your clit, bringing out a string of curse words in german from nico when he felt you clench around him.
you were annoyed you hadn’t done this sooner, the reality better than anything you could have ever imagined with nico, the light feeling in your head adding to the pleasure as the thrust into you, hips meeting hips and the sound of skin meeting skin filling his home gamesroom. “faster, nico, please.”
nico, ever the gentleman, grabs onto your hips and turns you around to face the table, your chest pressed against the playing surface and he holds one of your legs up, pushing himself back inside of you, faster, harder than before and you swear you could feel him deeper, his hand on your stomach pressing down slightly had butterflies erupting inside you. you’re practically clinging to the table to keep yourself upright, moans mixing with his own groans in the air, your mind gone hazy and only thinking about the man making you feel this way.
you that you’d wake up with hand marks around your neck but at that moment you couldn’t find yourself to care, encouraging him to go harder, wanting to feel all of him, every vein, inside you till it had you screaming his name. “you gonna cum for me? gonna be my good girl?” nodding your head, desperately, only a small smirk graced his lips, when he pulled out of you almost fully, before slamming his hips back into yours, the actions surprising you that your nails dug into the green mat.
the action made you want to dig your nails into his back, his back littered with red scratch marks, muscles moving against your hands, and you were sure he’d be getting shit from the boys in the locker room the next day, most likely from jack, he was always the one to point them out with a comment like ‘had a good night cap?’ only to attract the other players attention to it after.
his accent always had you fawning, practically studying every word he said because his voice so addicting to you, and you wished you could record it in your head, wanting to hear it at all times but when his voice was low like this, a primal feel to his words it made you absolutely feral, listening to him like he was the second coming of jesus.
“you can hold it, just another minute.” nico promised you, slowing down his pace but keeping the same harsh and deep strokes, his fluttering shut and a groan slipping from his lips when you tightened around him, feeling the familiar twitching feeling inside you and you new he was close. the grip around your throat loosened slightly, focused more on making you cum than his fingers around your neck, and you were more than thankful he did.
he dropped his head to the crook of your neck, his chest pressed against your back, biting down onto the skin there to muffle the moans he let out, although failing as they mixed with your own, the sounds begging him to let you have your release. “please, nico, please let me cum-“
you felt his hips stutter against you, movements faltering and becoming sloppy, and he couldn’t hold back when he twitched again inside of you, the feeling triggering your second orgasm of the night as you moaned into your first, trying to muffle the sounds of your desperate whines, clenching around nico as he reached his own release, pulling out of you and releasing himself onto your ass, ignoring the empty feeling as your eyes screwed shut from the aftershocks, your vision blurry but you could feel his hands on the backs of your thighs, massaging the muscles that would sure to be sore in the morning.
the silence was comfortable, tired and shaky breaths the only thing filling the air when you let out a small laugh. “do you always have to get my ass?” you looked at him over your shoulder, seeing him staring at the mess he’d made over you, that he’d clean up the second you asked him but he wanted to admire his work.
nico brought his hand down on the soft flesh harshly, causing you to jump slightly against the table with a squeal of surprise before you looked back at him with a glare, already feeling his calloused fingers soothing over the irritated skin. “what can i say? it’s my favourite feature.”
and when he had that absolutely adorable lovesick smile on his face, even if it was directed at your ass, how could you argue with him?

part 1, part 2, part 3
~
You’ve been to a lot of Hughes centered hockey games in your life. You’ve been to watch both Quinn and Luke play during their time in Michigan, and you’ve been to watch several of Jack’s minor league games when you were teenagers.
Though somehow, despite how long you’ve been intertwined with the hockey breathing family, you had never been to a professional game. You talked about making a trip to Vancouver with your family at some point to watch Quinn, but it never worked out with your school schedule. You wanted to come watch Jack with the Devils a few times, too, but the plans always fell through.
You wish you’d tried harder right about now, because walking into the Prudential center, red and black everywhere you look, you’re a little overwhelmed.
Jack had told you exactly where to go and who to call if you got lost, but getting there wasn’t the issue. You finally having your car with you responsible for that, considering it was delivered just yesterday. The company that you hired to haul your car to you had gotten the date of your move wrong, so you had been depending on Jack and Luke for rides anywhere outside of walking distance.
Today, though, they were needed at the rink far earlier than you would’ve been allowed in. And, in true hockey player superstitious fashion, they can’t ride to the rink together for home games because the last time they did they got beat. So, you were extremely excited when you got the call that your car had just been parked outside of the apartment complex the day before.
You had found the arena just fine, leaving your car with the valet Jack had told you to go to. You had gone to the entrance designated for friends and family of the players, flashing the locker room pass Jack had given you, and even managed to find your way to the public areas of the arena by yourself.
The issue you had run in to stems from the fact that not only had you never attended an NHL game before, but you had never attended an NHL game alone.
Even though you blended in with the crowd outwardly, donning a devil’s jersey like everyone else, you were way out of your element. Usually at the boys’ games you had Ellen and Jim with you, or your own parents. They always made you feel like you belonged a little more, because they would explain certain fan behavior to you.
You knew all you had to do was simply sit and watch the game, but with the energy being so chaotic leading to the rivalry game, you knew that the fans were going to be absolutely buzzing. People were walking past you, jumping in front of you for high-fives and fist bumps, yelling “GO DEVS!” before walking away like nothing had ever happened. You didn’t miss the occasional dirty look from anyone in a blue Ranger’s jersey, either.
When you had first made your way to the foyer area at the front of the arena, you had already seen security having to separate a Devils fan and a Rangers fan. They had been screaming at one another over something that you were unaware of when the Rangers fan slammed his fist into the Devils fan’s cheek.
The scene made you a little apprehensive about how the game was going to go. You knew this was one of the biggest rivalries that existed in the hockey world, and you had read that the Rangers had a tendency to play extremely physical, so you were nervous for all of the Devils players you were growing fond of.
You eventually make your way to your seat, but not before going full fan mode and buying a foam finger at one of the many merchandise stands you passed on your way. You thought Jack and Luke would get a kick out of it, figuring you’d need all the help you could get after they see what you’re wearing.
You kept your promise to Nico, currently sporting the number 13 on your back. You felt a little silly, honestly. You had never not worn a Hughes jersey to a hockey game before; you always wore the jersey of whatever brother you were watching. But the conversation you had with Nico a few nights prior kept paying on a loop in your mind. The promise of a hat trick was too tempting to miss out on. Plus, even if he didn’t get a hatty, you knew you’d have the chance to make him do anything you wanted him to. You knew you had teased some ridiculous request, but you had decided you were simply going to ask him for an ice-skating lesson.
You had never been able to learn as a kid, not living close to an ice rink. Jack, Luke, and Quinn had tried to teach you a few times, taking you to their local rink when you would visit them outside of the summer months, but the lessons always ended with fights and hurt feelings. You needed someone that wasn’t going to yell at you anytime you panicked and found yourself sprawled along the frozen ground.
As you walk down the stairs towards your seat, foam finger on display proudly, you take in the pure atmosphere of the place. The arena looked huge from where you stood, lights dimmed and a red shadow cast over everything in sight. Not many people had made their way into the seating area yet, but there were a few fans bunched around the glass, waiting for the players to come out and start their warm ups.
You were pleasantly surprised when you found your seat free of any bodies, being able to settle in and wait for the arrival of the players on the ice. As the minutes ticked by, a few people made their way to your area, smiles and chants of ‘go Devils!’ once again filling the air around you.
You could see why people enjoyed coming to games so much. The sense of community was so strong in this building. Everyone was here to support the same cause, one goal in mind: a Devils’ win. You started to survey all the signs that fans had brought, setting them up against the glass for the players to see. Some of them were clever, some simply reading “puck?” with their favorite player’s number on it.
You also noted how many people were wearing Jack and Luke’s last name on their back. Even as you were driving up to the arena, you noticed the large presence of 86’s and 43’s surrounding you. It was odd, really, to see how many people were supporting your boys. It made your heart swell with pride, a little bit. To physically see the amount of people that believe in them the way you always have was enough to sell you on attending every Devils game from here until the end of time.
The newfound knowledge also further justified your decision for wearing Nico’s jersey tonight. You had seen plenty number 13’s floating around in the crowd, too, but Jack and Luke clearly had no lack of fan support.
The sound of pucks hitting the ice is what broke your attention from observing the people around you. You instantly clocked Luke’s curls, finding Jack not far from where Luke had settled on the ice. You looked around, trying to find a familiar head of brown hair you hadn’t seen nearly enough. Was he not warming up today? Was he okay? Did Luke actually hurt him and he wasn’t playing today?
You don’t remember either of your roommates mentioning that their captain was hurt. That’s something they would’ve mentioned at least once, right? You continue scan the ice for any sign of the Swiss man you couldn’t get off of your mind, not paying attention when Jack started skating in your direction. A loud bang on the glass in front of you with what finally broke your investigation.
“You’re here!” Jack yells through the glass at you, ignoring all the shouts of his name from the people standing around you.
“I told you I wasn’t going to miss it!” you shouted back, wondering if he could even hear you in the noisy environment.
Movement behind Jack caught your eye, Luke making his way over to stand next to his brother, earning an entirely new wave of sound to erupt around you.
“Bouy! You made it!” Luke shares his brother’s surprise.
“Did you guys really have no faith I would show up tonight? Am I that bad of a friend?” you ask them, wondering why they thought you would be a no-show.
“Know it isn’t your scene, is all,” Jack shouts back, shrugging his shoulders, smile on his face.
“Uh-uh, it is now. Look, I even bought a foam finger! I’m legit, now!” you wave your newest Devils merch around.
They both shake their heads and laugh, your eyes wandering to the ice behind them once again.
“Who ya looking for, huh?” Luke is the one to notice they no longer held your attention, turning his head to look at his teammates warming up behind them.
“Oh, no one. Just, taking it all in,” you try to recover. Luke simply looks at you, the moment he caught you staring at Nico in your living room in the back of his mind.
“It’s awesome, right? I’m telling you, you’ll be wanting to come to every home game by the end of the night. There’s nothing like a Devil’s home game,” Jack tells you, oblivious to Luke’s implications moments ago.
Jack must have decided it was time to acknowledge some of the fans around you, skating off after he finishes his statement.
“He’ll be out in a minute, just so you know. Got hung up in a pre-game interview,” Luke’s muffled voice travels through the glass.
“Huh? Who? What’re you talking about?” you rush out, growing nervous at the thought of being caught in your attraction to his teammate.
Luke deadpans at you, basically telling you to cut the bullshit. “You know who, Y/N.”
“Really, don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m here for you and Jack, remember?”
“Yeah? Then why do you have Cap’s jersey on?” Luke questions, raising an eyebrow at you.
Your head shoots down to look at the jersey you were wearing, cheeks turning red. You had forgotten you were even wearing it, surprised Jack didn’t notice when he first skated over to you.
“Don’t think you’re getting away with that, by the way. He’ll be getting an earful once he gets out here, don’t you worry. And god help him when Jack finally notices. Might be the first time a player gets a penalty against his own teammate,” Luke continues, looking over to where Jack is chucking pucks over the ice a few feet away.
“It was Nico’s idea. Said he wanted to mess with you guys, is all. Then said if I wore it he would score a hat trick, and if he didn’t he owed me a favor of my choosing. Figured it’d be fun to mess with him and make him do some outrageous task. You know I never miss the opportunity to get under yours and Jack’s skin, either. Couldn’t resist the offer,” you defend yourself.
Luke rolls his eyes, not wanting to call bullshit out here in the open like this, deciding to save the rest of the conversation for when you get home tonight.
You were going to respond, try to further plead your case, when you see a blur of red jump onto the ice from over near the Devils’ bench. Any attention you had granted to Luke was gone, watching a much anticipated head of hair flopping around as Nico does a few circles on the ice. You watch him wave to a few fans around the glass, conversing with a few of his teammates as he made his way around the ice.
Luke watches you follow Nico’s figure glide around on the ice, laughing to himself at how you were just trying to convince him you weren’t looking for anyone.
“I think I’ve proved my point,” you barely hear as Luke starts to skate away, noticing his captain skating over towards your section of the glass.
You’ve tuned out the shouts of Nico’s name around you as he makes eye contact with you, skating towards you with a smile.
“Hey! You’re here!” he winks at you, parroting Jack and Luke’s words. “And I see you chose the right Jersey!”
“Why did no one think I was going to show up?” you huff out, throwing your arms up, foam finger still attached to your hand.
“Jack and Luke were convinced you’d bail because of your aversion to hockey crowds. But I see you’ve made yourself right at home,” he chuckles, nodding towards the foam finger.
“Well, yeah. Had to make myself official, y’know?” you give the foam accessory a small wave.
Nico laughs, sliding his feet back and forth in short strokes, planting his stick on the ice for stability.
“You ready to score that hat trick you promised, Cap?” you shout to him, crossing your arms in a challenging stance.
“Never been more ready in my life, Bouy,” Nico smirks.
“If you keep using that nickname I won’t be so nice in choosing a favor for you to do when you don’t score your hatty,” you threaten, hating that Jack introduced the nickname to Nico in the first place.
“Oh, I’m gonna score that hatty,” he moves closer to the glass, making sure you can hear him. “My good luck charm did exactly what I asked her to do, so I’d say my chances are pretty solid.”
You’re so taken aback from Nico’s words that you completely miss Jack making his way back over to your area, slapping Nico on the back once he reaches his destination.
“Hey, Cap! ‘Bout time you made it out here. Was starting to wonder if someone was going to have to come and save you.”
Nico removes his eyes from your flushed face, turning to chat with Jack as you’re left speechless.
You wonder to yourself, what made Nico so…bold? You hadn’t really known him for that long, and it wasn’t like you two even saw each other that often, so what did you miss? You were definitely into him, there was no denying that, but you didn’t expect any kind of reciprocation from the man in front of you. You’ve always had a habit of letting your mind wander when you find someone attractive.
Not that Nico was just a pretty face. You could see in the few times that you’ve been in his presence that there was a dangerous amount of potential for you to fall for him. The way he seems to love Jack and Luke as much as you do, the genuine kindness that he seems to radiate, and the easy conversation that always seems to flow between the two of you contributing to your budding emotions.
His boldness surprises you, still. You’ve overheard Luke and Jack talk about Nico’s interactions with women. The amount of times they’ve poked fun at his obliviousness to women’s advances not forgotten. Or the way they claim he’s too focused on his career to think about anything other than hockey. You remember one story Jack told of Nico completely misreading a conversation with a woman at the bar, begging Jack to take him home after he all but ran away from the woman, claiming a stomach ache when she tried to coax him into an uber.
So, what was different about you? You feel like you hadn’t spent enough time with the Swiss hockey player to justify his remarks. But, as you notice Luke standing off to the side, a knowing look on his face as he watches his captain glance over at you during his conversation with Jack, you wonder if he knows something you don’t.
“Y/N, what the fuck are you wearing,” you hear Jack’s voice, snapping your head to look at his face, eyes staring at the black C on the upper left side of the jersey you’re wearing.
“A…jersey?” you answer apprehensively.
“Yeah, I can see that. But why do you have on Neeks’ jersey, specifically?” He asks you, but looks at the player standing next to him.
“Guess she decided the better jersey wasn’t even in the Hughes family at all,” Nico references the argument Jack and Luke were having days prior.
“You know what, I’m going to walk away from this before I say something I’ll regret, but this conversation isn’t over,” Jack shoots to two of you a glare before skating away, huffing like a little kid.
“I knew he would get mad!” you point an accusing (foam) finger at Nico.
“Don’t worry, Y/N, he’ll get over it. It’s just one game.”
“Well I’ll let you handle this then, mr. nonchalant. It was your idea, it’s your bomb to diffuse.”
“Gladly. By the way, heads up,” Nico warns you, chucking a puck over the glass, landing on the ground beside you. You bend over to pick it up, noticing the writing on the back.
You read the sribble of “hatty” followed by the date and Nico’s signature in silver marker, looking up to see him skating off with a wink.
———————————————————————————
After you watched Jack throw his fit about you wearing Nico’s jersey from afar, earning nothing but a laugh from the jersey owner himself, they both skated away from each other to start actually warming up for the game ahead. You noticed Jack kept glaring at Nico, shoulder checking him a few times for good measure. Jack wouldn’t even look over at you, earning a pout from you in Luke’s direction, begging him to do something to make Jack love you again.
Luke would just shrug at you as if to say “told you so,” choosing to focus on his warm ups instead. As the players left the ice to prepare for puck drop, you watched Jack finally look over to you, sporting a glare and giving a shake of his head before he disappeared from your view.
Even after the game started, you could feel Jack’s pouting from where you sat. He was hesitant to pass the puck to Nico, costing them a few chances at goals. You cursed him every time, worried that this would’ve happened. You don’t know what was said, but during one of the tv timeouts, Nico skated over to Jack and all you could see was a finger poking out to jab Jack in the chest. Jack’s face growing more and more unimpressed as the conversation went on, but ultimately Jack nodded and skated off, rolling his eyes in your direction.
For the rest of the period, you noticed Jack was better about passing the puck, no longer alienating Nico from his plays. He was still mad, though. You could see it in his body language and how he was playing rougher than he normally does. As soon as the first period was over, you were out of your seat and making your way down to the locker rooms. You flashed your pass and waited patiently after you asked someone to go fetch Jack for you, claiming it was an emergency.
Jack comes walking out of the locker room into the hallway, towel around his neck, jersey left behind.
“Okay, get it all out now, or so help me god I’ll jump onto that ice and beat some sense into you,” you tell him, wanting him to get all of his anger out of his system.
“You always wear one of our jersey’s, Y/N. Always. This is your first time watching me and Luke in a professional game, and you’re wearing a someone else’s jersey?” Jack asks you, a small bit of hurt showing on his face.
“Jack, it was a joke. A last minute suggestion from Nico the other night. He thought it’d be funny since you and Luke were arguing about it,” you tell him, feeling a little bad that he genuinely seems hurt. “Plus, I didn’t really want to choose between you and Luke. It was hard. I had all three jerseyss laying on my bed earlier, and I just couldn’t choose between the two of you.”
“I still don’t like that you wore someone else’s jersey,” Jack pouts, but seems to accept your explanation.
“It’s just one game, Jack, it’ll be fine. I promise this isn’t going to become a habit,” you assure him, reaching up to ruffle his hair, regretting your decision when you feel how sweaty it is.
“You sure about that?” Jack asks you, catching you off guard.
“What?”
“Oh c’mon, Y/N,” Jack starts, dropping his arms to his sides. “Don’t act like you haven’t been staring at him the whole game.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you feel your cheeks heating, hating that this is the second time one of your roommates has asked you about this today.
“You can’t lie to me, remember? Know you too well,” he tells you, reminding you he’s always been able to tell when you’re caught in a lie.
“I mean…maybe I’ve been watching him. So what? He’s your friend, Jack. Not to mention our neighbor and the only teammate of yours I really know,” you try to justify, not wanting to have this conversation now.
“Bullshit. You’re into him.”
“No, I’m not!” you say too quickly, your voice going up in pitch, causing you to clear your throat.
“Oh yeah? Then why do you ask about him every time Luke and I mention practice, or our jobs in general? Why do you always ask us if Nico made it home when we get home from practice? Or when you spent basically the whole night talking to him at the bar your first night here?” Jack asks you, waiting for your answers.
“I- I don’t ask about him that much,” you say, trying to retrace your conversations with Jack and Luke. Maybe you do ask about him more than you thought. “And I spent the night at the bar being shuffled around from table to table, which you did!” you remind him, having felt like you were speed dating, but platonically.
“When I came to get you to leave you were completely alone with him in a dark corner of the bar,” Jack throws back at you.
“He came and found me. I was on the phone with my mom and he decided to come check on me. I had nothing to do with that,” you defend.
Jack still doesn’t look convinced, crossing his arms once again, tilting his head towards you. “Listen, I’m not mad that you’re into him – out of all the guys on the team I’m thankful it’s him, honestly – but I know how you are. Once you see potential, you go a little starry eyed and don’t think, sometimes,” he reads you.
You open your mouth to respond, trying to defend yourself once again, but Jack interrupts you before you can get a word out.
“All I’m saying is, think about this before you make sure it’s what you really want. Nico’s a great guy, but this team demands a lot of our time and attention, as you can already tell. I just don’t want you getting disappointed if you end up in the middle of something with him and get upset because you feel like you’re being neglected. He wouldn’t ever do it on purpose, but hockey comes first sometimes. I just want you to be prepared for that.”
You don’t know what to say to him. I mean, he is right. You do see potential with Nico, and you wouldn’t mind if you tried to see where things would go with him, but you think Jack is a few steps ahead of you. I mean, you don’t even have the man’s phone number yet. You don’t even really know if Nico is into you, too. You appreciate the intent behind Jack’s words, but you don’t know if they’re even necessary.
“Thanks, Jack, really. But I don’t even know if he’s the least bit interested in me, so I wouldn’t be too worried if I were you. It’s just a silly little crush. Who knows if it’ll even last,” you laugh, wanting to alleviate some of the intensity of the conversation.
Jack just stares at you, looking like he wants to say something but decides against it. The look on his face has you once again wondering if he knows something you don’t. You decided to let it go, though, and shoo him back into the locker room.
“Alright, talk over. Go back in there and get ready, you have some Rags to beat!” you push him away from you. You hear him laugh as you walk away, thinking about his words the whole way back to your seat.
———————————————————————————
Shit. He actually did it. He scored a fucking hat trick. The crowd goes absolutely wild when Nico’s shot sails straight into the goal as the buzzer sounds, signaling the end of the game. You jump up from your seat, screaming as loud as you can with the crowd around you. You bang against the glass, cheering for Nico as he celebrates with his teammates.
Once he breaks away from the group hug, he skates right over to you, pointing a gloved finger in your direction. You flash him a huge smile, not even caring that you lost whatever bet – if you could even call it that – you had going on with Nico. You were too high on the atmosphere. The goal causing the Devils to win in the last second, ego a little inflated at the thought that you contributed to it.
After the players left the ice and the crowd started to disperse a bit, you slowly made your way back down to the locker room, told to wait there after the game by Jack. You took in the happy fans milling about the arena, soaking in the energy for a little bit longer. You didn’t realize just how slowly you were moving until you realized the time, figuring the guys would be changed and ready to go any minute.
As you were walking down the hallway to where other friends and family of the team was gathered, you felt a harsh contact with your shoulder. It flung your body back, nearly making you lose your balance until you caught yourself at the last second.
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you,” you said, knowing it wasn’t your fault, but apologizing anyways.
“Obviously,” you heard a deep voice say, a man in a blue Rangers jersey standing across from you, rolling his eyes.
“Well, no need to be rude about it. You bumped in to me, y’know,” you grumbled out, a little pissed as the man’s response.
“Watch it, bitch. Just cause your shitshow of a team won tonight doesn’t mean you’re truly better than us. Just wait till next game. We’ll smoke your asses,” he spits out at you, letting you smell the alcohol on his hot breath.
“What the hell does the game have to do with you bumping in to me? The two are completely unrelated,” you question, stepping back and scrunching your nose at the foul smell.
“Keep talking, bitch, and I’ll show you just how bad we can beat the Devils’ asses,” the man steps forward, a menacing look on his face.
“Alright, chill out. It’s just a game, buddy,” you back up against the wall next to you, trying to pit distance between you and him, not wanting to show him how nervous you really were.
“God, why do you puck bunnies never shut the fuck up? I literally told you to stop talking, what part of that don’t you understand?” he backs you up even further, not leaving much room for you to make an escape.
“Technically you told me to keep talking,” you say before you can think better of it.
The man basically growls at you raising his hand back. To do what, you never find out, because a voice brings him back to reality, making him seem to remember he’s in public.
“I suggest you drop your hand and step away.”
The man’s head whips around, looking behind him. Once he steps back from you slightly, you make your escape, removing yourself from the wall.
You see Nico standing a few feet away from you, a grey suit on his body, his hair covered by a cream color beanie.
“Oh, how convenient. Captain to the rescue,” the guy slurs, turning his body to fully face Nico.
“Do I need to call security or are you going to be smart and get the fuck out of my arena?” Nico spits, surprising you with his harshness.
“Whatever. I’m going. Don’t be so dramatic. The puck bunny started it, anyways,” the man waves you off, stumbling away without a glance back.
Nico watches him walk away, stepping towards you the second the man is out of view.
“Are you okay? Did he do anything to you? Do I need to go get security?” He fires off questions, concern present in his brown eyes.
“No, I’m fine. He bumped into me then started spewing some bullshit about the game. I asked him how the two were related and he just kept talking about how he was gonna show me how ‘we can really beat the Devils’ asses’,” you put up air quotes.
“Are you sure? We can file a report, if you want to,” his eyes continue to look you up and down, moving around your face to check for any sign you weren’t okay.
“Really, it’s fine. He didn’t do anything. Thank you, though. For scaring him away,” you assure him, causing him to relax.
“Of course. Seems to be a pattern, after all. Me running to your rescue,” he references your previous encounters. Letting you into your apartment, getting the bartender’s attention so you could order a drink that same night, his help when you were making dinner just a few nights ago. He really did always show up when you needed help.
You look up at him with a smile. “My very own knight in shining armor.”
He bows dramatically. “M’lady.”
You laugh at the action, causing Nico to join in.
“So I guess I owe you a congratulations, huh?” you ask after your laughter dies down.
Nico beams at you, pulling a stack of three pucks out of the bag slung over his shoulder, the tape they’re held together by reading ‘hat trick”. He holds the pucks out towards you, signaling you to grab them.
“Here, they’re yours. You’re the reason I got them, after all,” he tells you, placing the pucks into your hands.
“I don’t think I had anything to do with it,” you look at the pucks in your hand before looking back up at Nico.
“Sure you did. I told you if you wore the jersey I’d score one. And you did. And then I did. I told you, you’re my goodluck charm,” he smiles at you, shrugging like a hat trick was no big deal.
You roll your eyes at him, trying to fight a smile. “Sure, whatever you say, Cap.”
He chuckles at your sarcasm, shaking his head at you.
“Guess I need to pocket that ridiculous favor I had in mind, then,” you tell him, toying with the pucks, thinking about how he gave you four different pucks tonight.
“I’m sure you can keep it on the backburner. Think you’ll be able to cash it in sooner than you think,” he tells you, a confused look on your face.
“You won, though. I wore the jersey, you scored three goals. That was the whole thing,” you remind him, not knowing where he was going with his statement.
“You never asked me what I got if I did score a hatty.”
You were taken aback by his words, not realizing that was part of the deal. “Okay…well, what do you get, then?”
“You have to do me a favor,” he tells you, grin on his face.
You furrow your brows, confused. “I thought the whole point of my end of the deal was because I already did you a favor?”
“You did. But now I get to ask you for another one,” he rocks back on his heels, way too giddy about the situation.
You look at him, a little scared at what he has planned. He just continues to look at you, his shit-eating grin still extremely present.
“Okay…what is it?” you ask him, getting impatient.
“Oh, I’m not telling you yet. I’ll cash it in when I’m ready,” He replies, amused at the unamused look on your face.
“Seriously? You’re not going to tell me what cruel fate you’re subjecting me to?”
You hear the voices of Jack and Luke coming towards you, turning your head away from Nico, watching the two brothers make their way towards you, lost in their own conversation.
“All in due time, dear Bouy,” Nico says, taking a step back from you.
Your distaste for the nickname shows on your face, causing Nico’s eyes to twinkle, loving how mad you get over the silly name.
“Whatever. Keep it to yourself, then. I don’t care,” you lie.
“Have a good night. See you soon,” Nico says with a wink, turning to walk in the direction of Jack and Luke, giving them a wave as he passes them, both of them noticing you standing where he just came from.
You look down at the pucks in your hand once more, looking at the emblem on top noting what game and date they were from. When you look at the bottom of the last puck, you catching a streak of silver reflect off of the fluorescent lights in the hallway. Turning it completely upside down, you make out the 9 digits of a phone number scribbled along the bottom, matching the handwriting of the words and signature on the first puck Nico gave you that night.
“Hey, ready to go? We’re starving. Luke wants waffles so we’re going to meet a few of the guys at a diner not from the apartment, you want go?” Jack asks you as the two approach you.
You don’t respond, too stuck on the fact that Nico gave you his phone number on the bottom of his hat trick pucks. You’re impressed at how smooth it was, but also freaking out and trying not to jump to conclusions. It’s just a phone number. It could mean nothing. Maybe he just wanted you to have it because you’re neighbors? Or because you’re so close with Jack and Luke. Maybe he wanted you to have it for emergencies.
“Hello, earth to Y/N. You good?” Luke snaps you out of your trance, bringing the pucks down to press the bottom against your leg, hiding the phone number from your roommates.
“What? Yeah. I’m fine. Great. Perfect.”
“Okay…” Jack trails off, giving you a suspicious look. “So, yes or no to the waffles?”
“Oh my god, yes. The answer to waffles is always yes,” you say excitedly.
“Okay then, let’s go. Some of the guys are already there,” Jack laughs at you, walking towards the exit leading to where the players park.
“Shotgun!” Luke yells out, turning back to see your reaction to the competition that was so fierce when you were kids.
Your mind is once again on the pucks in your hands, and the player that gave them to you. You look at the numbers again, deciding the boys were far enough ahead for you to safely sneak a peek, wanting to make sure they were actually there and you weren’t seeing things.
Luke just smiles and shakes his head, remembering watching his captain frantically ask for a sharpie in the locker room, writing something on the exact set of pucks you now have in your hands before bolting from the room like a man on a mission.

blue-"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." nico being devastated he’s hurt and just needs to be held by his girlfriend
i made it a bit more emotional hurt than physical! thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
29. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
.
It was bittersweet.
He knew it was coming. The team knew it was coming. The fans knew it was coming. It had been a rough year with messy strategies, tough injuries and bad luck slapping them in the face after the season they had the previous year. It was rough and it weighed down on everyone and it was shattering.
But, deep down, there was this little spark of hope in his chest.
Hope that they could pull through and do the impossible. Hope that they could defy the odds and make it through to the playoffs. Hope that they would click and be the amazing team he knew they could be.
He had so much fucking hope and it was completely washed away the second that final buzzer went, the reality that they had been eliminated finally settling amongst them as they looked at each other on the ice.
But Nico stepped up. He was the captain. He had these boys looking up to him and seeking him out as a pillar of comfort and reassurance. He couldn’t be moping around the locker room, not when he had to take care of his boys first. Not when he had to face the media and drag the interview out as long as he could so the other boys didn’t have to spend too long with them. Not when he had to deal with whatever debrief meetings and logistics the coaches and team wanted to have.
They may have been eliminated but he still had his duties to perform.
He felt like he was running on pure muscle memory by the time he left the Rock, settling behind the wheel of his car with a heavy sigh. His brain was racing with a million different thoughts as he drove home, plaguing him with what if’s and could have been’s. Despite the exhaustion settling in his body, his mind felt far too wired and overwhelming and, fuck, he just wanted it to stop.
And then he walked through the door and saw you cuddled up on the couch, drowning in one of his hoodies and a blanket his mother had gifted you both when you moved in, and the last of his resolve crumbled.
“Hey, baby,” you murmured, your voice soft and sweet and soothing as he dropped his bags at the door and quickly made his way towards you. He didn’t even hesitate as he practically draped himself on top of you, burying his face into the fabric of your—his—hoodie.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” he blurted out because the words had been on the tip of his tongue. They had been lingering in the back of his head since the season had started, had been lingering after every loss and hardship the team and fans had to face.
“Shhh, it’s not your fault, Nico,” you cooed, your arms winding around his body to hold him tight. Because somehow you knew what was going through his head, you knew the way he was spiralling, you just knew him. “None of this is your fault.”
“Just their faces—” he cut himself off with an unpleasant sound, something stuck between a sob and a scoff. Instead, he nuzzled himself closer like he could bury himself between your ribs and stay there forever.
“I know, baby, I know.” Your fingers ran through his hair, your nails lightly scraping along his scalp in an attempt to soothe him. “Last year wasn’t a fluke, okay? This year was the fluke. Next season will be your season, I just know it.”
“You don’t know that,” he murmured, his words twisting the self-deprecating knife lodged in his heart since the season had started going downhill.
“I know everything,” you corrected before lightly tugging on his hair until he lifted his head. You flashed him a soft smile, your hands gently holding his face as your thumb smoothed over the small scar on his cheek. “You’re gonna lead that team to the win you all deserve, Nico. I know that. The boys know that. The fans know that.”
He could only muster a small smile.
“And I will happily remind you until you believe in yourself again,” you added before leaning over to peck his lips, feeling the tension in his body finally start to leave for the first time since he entered the apartment.
“I love you,” he murmured when he couldn’t find any other words to capture how he was feeling.
“I love you too, baby.”

blake hughes au
summary: how blake hughes and nico hischier finally confess their feelings for each other
word count: 4.1k
“Nico, you know you don’t have to keep coming over anymore,” Blake whispered. she had been thinking a lot about their relationship lately, or lack thereof. she didn’t know how much longer she could take being so incredibly infatuated with him but unable to say anything.
Nico looked confused, like the idea of not coming over to visit Blake was incomprehensible. Blake stared at Nico, waiting for him to respond. she hoped he would say that he wanted to be with her, that he had feelings for her… anything to suggest that he wasn’t just here to make her brothers playing less sloppy. she had watched the games, she knew that Jack was struggling and the reason was probably her.
“I want to come over,” Nico finally responded, and although that's what Blake wanted to hear it wasn’t as satisfying as she thought it would be.
They both sat in silence for a moment, drinking hot chocolates out of mugs decorated with little ice skates. “yeah but, if you’re here just because of Jack then-”
“I’m not,” Nico butted in. They both stared at each other.
“Right well,” Blake was the first to shift away from Nico’s heated gaze, uncomfortable in whatever awkward tension she had just created.
Nico cursed himself in his mind. She doesn’t want you like that, he kept repeating over and over again. Although, no matter how many times he told himself that Blake wasn’t interested in him, he would still hold out on any string of hope that he had.
They had really connected over the few months that they had gotten to know each other, and either would be damned if they let that all go to waste. So, they both held on without knowing that the other person felt the exact same way.
*
“You're going to get cold,” Jack had pointed out to Blake as he picked her up to go out. but of course, she decided against better judgement and had decided to wear her sluttiest top without any form of coverup so that she wouldn’t chicken out.
Jack hadn’t mentioned Blakes tiny top, and so she counted it as a win that his critique came in the form of needing something warm. “Like, I'm seriously not going to give you my jacket when you start complaining,” he continued with the roll of his eyes.
“If all goes well tonight i won't need your jacket,” Blake had rebutted to Jack's distaste.
“Yeah well, with your luck you're going to be single forever so I'll be waiting for you to complain about the cold,” Jack teased.
“Right and… where’s your girlfriend?” Blake played into the sibling banter. “Last I saw your ex was on a lingerie mag and here you are… coming over to your sister's place before going out so she can help you pick out an outfit….”
“Right, okay I'm done fighting now!” Jack said, lifting his hands up in mock surrender. “But seriously, do these pants match with this top,”
“You're wearing black skinny jeans, anything you wear is going to match, now go!” Blake responded, shooing Jack out of her apartment and into the hallway. She looked at her reflection in the mirror one last time before leaving, making a mental note to put on some more lip gloss in the car.
“Who are you trying to impress anyway?” Jack had shouted once he and Blake got inside the bar. He was trying to find his teammates among the crowd, but it was no luck.
“None of your business!” she shouted back, catching the boy of her affections eye from across the bar. “Nico’s over there!” she yelled, turning to her brother who was already being pulled into conversation by somebody else. It seemed like fate was on Blake's side as she made long strides over to Nico who was, luckily, alone.
Nico looked hot, and god… the things Blake wanted to do to him… she should be locked up.
Blake wasn’t the only one appreciating the view though, because Nico was very clearly checking out his teammate's sister. His eyes trailed down Blakes face and onto her top, and if Blake had noticed him shift in his seat she hadn’t said anything.
“You look good tonight!” Nico had leaned over so that Blake could hear him through the loud music. Blakes face burned at his comment, and she was glad that the bar's lighting was dim otherwise it would be very obvious that she liked her brother's captain. although, liked seemed like a very meager word when her whole world turned upside down upon seeing his dimples.
“And you look very handsome!” Blake had turned her head close to his. She was going to need a few drinks if she was going to be this close to him all night. Especially, when all his teammates were here.
Nicos face lit up with a smile, and Blakes immediately matched it with a bright smile of her own.
“Sit beside me,” Nico said, pulling out the last empty chair beside him. He was still waiting for his drink.
Blake easily complied, smoothly sliding the bar stool as close to Nico as was possible without raising suspicions. “So….”
“Soo…” Nico copied Blake, both giggling at each other. They were two lovesick fools and yet, they didn’t recognize that the other was also helplessly in love.
“So, how have you been?” Blake smiled, leaning an elbow onto the bar so that she was even closer to the brown eyed man. She was so down bad…
“I’ve been good, just waiting for a pretty girl to come sit with me, you?” he replied flirtatiously.
“I’m really good! just waiting for a hot man to order me a drink…” she trailed off, focusing her gaze away from Nico and back to the bar staff.
“What do you want?” he said, already pulling out his wallet.
A bartender came over to their section, dropping off a cold beer in front of Nico while offering all sorts of apologies for the wait time. He waved the waiter ramblings off, and instead looked towards Blake for her order.
“A vodka cran,” she told the bartender, “double shot”
Nico had handed over the cash.
After some more harmless flirting, Nico led Blake back to the team’s table where she was greeted by everyone.
“Nice outfit,” one of the boys piped up, eyes trailing down Blakes body. she was wearing some jeans and a tight corset top that pushed her boobs up just right…
“Don’t talk to my sister,” Jack huffed, swatting the guy in the chest.
At Jack's words, your eyes immediately turned to catch Nico’s who was already staring at you. He looked torn, and before you could make any sort of move to question him he was shuffling chairs and sitting as far away from Jack as was possible.
All night, Blake had been trying to catch Nico’s attention from down the table. He barely glanced in her direction for the rest of the night, and now she was afraid that when he did she’d start to cry. She felt so pathetic as the other guy's attention fell to her chest, reminding her that the guy she was trying to get wanted nothing to do with her at this moment.
“I'm going to get another drink,” Blake said as she swirled the ice around in her cup. Jack nodded at her, and then she was walking towards the bar by herself.
Blake let the bartender make her “something special”, and she sat at the bar watching him pour a shit ton of juice and gin into her cup.
“Hey, you new here?” Some guy, blond and skinny sat in one of the many available seats next to Blake.
“uh no i’m not. Is that your opening line?” she huffed, giving the bartender a tip when she finally came back with her drink. Yes, Blake was being rude to the guy but she wanted nothing more than to be alone. Something that was impossible to happen in a bar at 1am.
“Uh, can I have this dance?” The guy tried to correct himself, and Blake cringed as a mix of two songs from 2010 blared through the bars speakers.
“No you cant-” Blake said, just as her head turned just enough for her to see a girl approach Nico. she couldn’t make out what they were saying, just that he was smiling in the same way he was earlier.
“Actually,” Blake corrected herself, and the blond guy turned to his group of friends as if to say “i told you so, girls cant resist my charm…”
the girl touched Nicos arm… “I’ll dance with you!” Blake forced a smile onto her face, turning back to the bar one last time to take a large swig out of her drink.
The blond guy grabbed her hand, and with a deep breath Blake let herself be dragged onto the dance floor which was coincidentally right beside the table filled with her brother's friends.
The blond guy, who still didn't have a name, spun Blake around so that her back was against his front. she tried to lean back into him, but it all felt so wrong.
The guy guided her hips, and her face heated up in shame as her brother's teammates started turning their attention towards her.
Blake turned herself back around, now facing the guy who brought her to dance. they swayed together for a few more minutes, and as soon as the next song finished Blake was immediately bidding her goodbyes.
She rushed over to the table, ignoring the blond guy's shouts for her snap. she grabbed her purse from her brother's chair. “Can we please leave Jack,” she practically yelled in his ear.
he turned to his sister with a look of concern in his eyes. “Did he do something..?” he said, gesturing to the guy from earlier who was now retreating back to his group of friends.
Blake shook her head. “I think i’m getting a headache,”
Jack stood up then, waving to his teammates as he bid them all goodbyes.
Nico had tried to catch Blakes eyes, but she refused to look in his direction.
By the time she and Jack got out to the car, she could feel tears of frustration threatening to fall. She had to keep her head glued to the window so as to not raise any suspicions with Jack, who was well… oblivious to all things that weren't in his direct line of sight.
“Thanks for driving me home!” her words were rushed as she scrambled out of his car. “I’ll call you in the morning!”
When her apartment door slammed shut behind her, Blake broke out into quiet sobs. She just wanted the mood from seeing Nico at the bar to continue for the rest of the night. It seemed that despite how hard she tried, nothing would ever come out of whatever she and Nico had going on.
*
When Blake was 15, she had dated this guy who had lived a few doors down from her. The relationship didn’t last long, but sometimes Blake liked to think about the boy who broke her heart. Usually at night, usually when she was upset, and usually when she had nothing better to do than upset herself with her own life's events.
He had been nice at first, someone Jack had talked to a few times when he was out playing street hockey. She couldn't remember if Ryder had ever joined Jack and her brothers games, but that didn’t matter much anyway.
What mattered was Blake overhearing him tell his group of friends that the only reason he was dating her was because she was going to compete in the olympics.
“she’s like, the perfect girlfriend to have,” he had said to his friends. “i never have to see her, she's a champion, and like, I can make out with her and shit whenever i want,”
The last part hurt the most. Ryder was the first guy she had ever kissed and really been with. She didn’t have time to have boyfriends that weren’t always at the rink or the gym. Her seeking out Ryder and being with him was her own little act of deviance.
Now that she’d gone to enough therapy sessions though, she was sure that the reason she wasn’t upset that he was with her because of her titles was because she wanted to be with herself because of her titles. When she was younger, she was solely defined by her medals. Therefore, it came to no surprise to Blake that her relationships would be defined by her achievements too.
Anyway, that didn’t stop her crying to her older brother about the whole thing.
She had bursted through Quinn’s door, tears silently streaming down her face as she fell face first onto his bed. He had brushed her hair from her face, asking her what was wrong.
“He’s using me,” she had said, and Quinn looked upset enough for the both of them.
“He’s such a fucking asshole,” he had said, looking at his younger sister with so much pity. “He doesn’t deserve somebody like you,”
At the time, Blake wasn’t sure what “somebody like you,” had meant. All her life she was defined by her skills, her body, her wins and loses… she wished figure skating and relationships didn’t have to be so difficult.
She hadn’t seen Ryder again after that. She had made no effort to go and see him, and Blake could’ve sworn she saw him slowly sneaking back inside his house whenever her brothers would go outdoors.
Now at 20, Blake lays in her bed and reminisces on all the shitty parts of her life with a new lens. She remembers Ryder and how he had used her, her coach and how she forced Blake to compete through injuries, and then her mind turned to Nico. who hadn't necessarily done anything to hurt Blake but his lack of action made her feel pathetic.
How is it that a man can flirt with you at a bar, make you believe for weeks that he truly likes you, and then refuse to make eye contact with you later?
Blake’s head spun like one of those spins she used to practice. She had thought of calling Quinn but then what? She had already told him how convinced she was that Nico had liked her. It would just be embarrassing now to have to tell him that now she wasn’t so sure.
So, Blake did what she did best, wallowed in her own self-pity until she eventually drifted off into sleep.
*
A few days later Nico came knocking on Blakes door. She wasn’t surprised to see him, but she had already decided that she shouldn’t talk to him anymore.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to come over anymore,” she had told him. She hadn’t let him step through the threshold of her apartment, and she hadn’t changed her mind under his soft gaze.
“But… Blake?”
“Nico, I'm really busy right now. There's a lot of stuff that i’m going through and I cant handle-”
“You can’t handle hanging out with me?” he had said, voice quiet.
Blake had to look away from his pointed gaze, wanting nothing more than to just confess her feelings. But if Nico did like her like she thought he did, then his reaction to what Jack had said at the bar a few nights ago just proved to her that a relationship just wouldn't work out. And so, as Blake always does, she prioritised what she thought would end up working in the long run. Instead of pushing through pain to win medals, she was pushing through her feelings for Nico to protect her heart.
“I’m sorry,” she had whispered to him, gaze falling to the floor when he finally walked away from her.
*
Nico had thought that he was doing the right thing. Sure, he had let things go too far when he started flirting with Blake at the bar. But come on, she was so gorgeous, and she was exactly the kind of person that he wanted to be with. Forget “kind of person”, Nico thought. She was literally the only person he wanted to see or talk to.
He thought that maybe he was taking advantage of her in some way. after he had started stopping by her house and visiting, and they had become friends… Jack had started telling him stories of Blakes abusive childhood. He couldn't even imagine growing up in a sport so toxic. And then of course there was her career ending injury, which is the reason behind them even starting to hang out.
Blake Hughes was vulnerable, she was hurt and she was upset, and Nico wasn’t sure if love was even something she was looking for right now. He felt like he was stepping over some sort of invisible line, and that if Blake didn’t reciprocate his feelings, she wouldn't want to talk to him anymore.
But he was proven to be right regardless, because Blake wasn’t talking to him and he had no idea why.

The devil’s holiday event was lackluster. Jack had caught the eye of some pretty brunette and so he was off flirting and doing god-knows what. She had hoped that by now that Jack would stop insisting she came to these kinds of events and outings. But Blake guessed watching Titanic every night for the last week counted as a setback in her recovery journey.
She swirled the drink in her cup, watching mindlessly as couples mingled and talked amongst themselves. This was just getting depressing.
As the night continued nothing changed. She sat in her spot by the bar, conversing with the bartenders with as limited a vocabulary as possible. If her mother were here, she would definitely be scolding Blake for being rude.
“You okay?” one of the girlfriends had asked Blake as they waited at the bar for another drink. Blake had nodded respectively, and when that didn’t appease the girl she sighed.
“Boy troubles, you know?” she laughed, hoping that the awkwardness would be too much and that the girl would take the hint and leave.
“Hit me,” she had said instead, and so that’s how Blake spent the next 45 minutes explaining to Jesper Bratts girlfriend all the ways in which an anonymous man had shown feelings for her.
“I mean, it really sounds like he likes you. you know how men are, maybe you should make the first move?” the blonde had replied.
“But there’s a lot at stake here… this guy is.. Well,”
“Standing over there?” Bratts girlfriend said, pointing to Nico Hischier. He looked gorgeous, and if Blake wasn’t so shocked that she had guessed correctly she probably would have melted to a puddle on the floor.
Blake fumbled with what to say, opening and closing her mouth pathetically as her gaze moved from Nico to the girl perched in front of her.
“You guys aren’t very subtle, Blake” she said, patting the girl on the shoulder before launching into strategies in which Blake could “get her man”.
After the talk and another drink, Blake was ready to pour out all of her feelings to Nico because when she really thought about it, could life get anymore awful? she was already never going to be able to figure skate again, and she and Nico weren’t talking… nothing could possibly be worse than this.
Wrong.
In the 35 minutes it took for Bratts girlfriend to convince Blake to confess her feelings to Nico, he had moved on. Like, literally moved on from the group of guys he was talking to and onto a far too attractive blonde.
Life was actually cruel.
Like they always do, Blake and Nico caught eyes, and before he could make a move to come talk to her she was pushing past people to get towards the exit. She’d text Jack that she left when she was far, far, away from this cursed event.
*
Blake had just taken off her heels and pulled the backs of her earrings off when loud knocks echoed off her front door.
“Jack, I literally told you I was going home. I’m fine!” she stressed, yanking open the door without really looking at who was standing outside.
“It’s not Jack,” Nico’s voice was soft. Blake paused where she was standing, slowly turning so that she was face to face with the man of the last few weeks… Nico.
He looked even better up close. His beard was shaven, tie a little loose. He was her weakness if that kind of thing even mattered anymore.
“Nico,” she had breathed out, like she hadn’t imagined a single possibility in which he could be standing right in front of her. The weeks had seemed that long. Like there was no possibility that he’d still be waiting for her.
“Blake,” he sighed, walking into the apartment and shutting the door softly behind him.
“I really like you, you know that right?” she admitted. “Like, every time I'm with you I feel so calm and yet so overwhelmed with the idea that you were made for me?”
Nico didn’t have a chance to react before Blake continued saying her thoughts out loud. “Whenever I'm near you I get butterflies and I've never felt that way about anyone before. You're, youre so different to anyone I've ever known. And I know that you're Jack's captain and that I'm his sister and that could make things really awkward for you but I really don't care! Because I like you and Jack’s just going to have to get over that when the time comes,”
“I bought your jersey! I don't even own my twins jersey!” she continued, pulling out her phone from her small shoulder bag. She flicked it open, pulling up her duolingo streak. “And Duolingo! I have Duolingo to try and learn Swiss German!”
“Nico, if you don't feel the same way that's fine. I'm so sorry for thinking there was something between us,” Blake began apologizing, dropping the phone to her side as she started to calm down from the shocks of the evening.
“I have a notes app filled with all of your favourite things,” he interrupted Blakes ramblings.
“When I'm missing you, I make two portions of my dinner and bring some over to you as an excuse to see you. When Jack told me I didn’t have to come over to visit with you anymore, I was upset. My first thought was that I really liked you and that I didn't want whatever we have going on to end,”
“you liked me?” Blake spoke, her timid voice breaking through Nico’s speech.
“I still like you,” he responded, and not a second later was Blake’s purse falling to the ground as her hands wound themselves around Nico’s neck.
He grabbed her by her waist, fingers dancing over the small of her back as he brought her into a passionate kiss.
By the time they realized what they were doing, Blake was backing Nico into her room. “Are you sure?” he whispered, breaking away from their heated make out session to rest his forehead against hers.
“I need you,” she was basically whimpering, but Nico paid that no attention as he slowly started sliding the straps of her dress down her shoulders.
“You're gorgeous,” he whispered, trailing kisses from her lips all the way down to her cleavage.
Blake moaned, gripping onto Nicos hair as the both of them sunk down onto her plush bed.
*
In the morning, Blake woke up to her and Nico cuddling. Blake ran her hands lightly through his hair, all of last night's events rushing back to her with pleasure.
Nico groaned when he finally came to, head moving against Blakes shoulder as he tried to shield himself from the light that was shining through her curtains. He placed a few soft kisses onto her shoulder before snuggling closer to her.
She set one of her legs over his, and then allowed him to pull her as close to him as possible.
They would discuss the nature of their relationship later. but now, all the two cared about was spending as much time with one another as possible before life got in the way. They went back to sleep peacefully, knowing that they don't have to pretend anymore.

The ends of Nico's hair softly tickle the back of your shoulder, his head dipping to kiss your skin, teasing out a quiet sigh. His touch is featherlight until he reaches the bottom of your neck, where he playfully nips your weakest point and soothes the sting with his tongue. Here, your perfume smelt the strongest, a concoction that always had a hint of honey and vanilla to it, leaving him intoxicated. He ignores the ache in his chest, trying to coax it away with memories of the now, and kisses the same spot once more, before pulling away.
He takes a second to trail his eyes down your back as you push up to rest on your elbows, your head turning to face him in the dark. Your lips were swollen, with faint indents on your bottom lip from where he had sunk his teeth and nipped at it all night. Traces of your lipstick were smudged at the corners, and Nico swore he could see the slightest hint of a smile that he might miss if he looked away.
No, he definitely wasn't ready to acknowledge the part of him telling him he'd miss this come the next morning when you inevitably crawled out of his bed. The part that was trying to remind him that you were no longer his, that this was just something you needed before you went on with the rest of your life.
Not when you looked like that.
Beneath the thin sheet, his hand skims the small of your back, his thumb brushing against the dip in the column of your spine. "Still haven't changed your mind?" He asks, spoiling the silence that had settled between you. He knew your answer would be no but he had decided there was no harm in him asking.
You flip over, his hand never leaving you, his large palm coming to rest on your stomach. Only moments ago, he had been pressing it down, grunting above you as he made a show of telling you he could feel himself bulging against you. Heat floods your cheeks and you squeeze your thighs together, trying to forget anything he said or did tonight was going to be difficult.
Searching for your other hand, your fingers trace the ring, the diamond pear-shaped and obnoxiously large. It felt heavier than normal like all the guilt of tonight had gathered there. You should've left it in your car, stashed it away in the glove box and treated it like some dirty secret you were embarrassed about. And yet doing that felt worse to you than laying naked next to your old lover.
Nico grunts at your side, pulling you back to reality, "I'll take your silence as a no."
"I don't know..." your voice trails off, a sigh filling the silence that followed.
You tear your fingers away from your ring and roll over to face him, the warmth in his eyes, almost black in the darkness of his bedroom, reaching out to touch you. His hand slides along your ribs and you look down in time to see him squeezing your side. The perfect little touches. That was something Simon was missing. He thought gifts (large, obnoxiously expensive gifts) were the way to make you feel better. But Nico knew what parts of you to touch, and how to touch to you, to make you feel better.
"It's all planned, Nico, everything," you tell him, holding onto his arm, "the bridesmaid dresses, the church, the flowers, where we'll go for our honeymoon; all decided by someone else."
Your throat thickens, making it hard for you to speak, and small tears sting your eyes. The only part of you anyone will see in this wedding will be you walking down the aisle in a dress you didn't even get to pick. 'A Button doesn't plan their wedding,' you could hear Claudia's words ringing in your head, those black beady eyes glaring at you as you shut your eyes.
"And they all keep telling me how he's perfect, that I've got myself a good one. But..." a tear slips down the bridge of your nose and he quickly swipes it away "...the closer it gets, the more I keep wondering if I might be making a mistake. I love Simon, but I don't know if I love him enough to marry him."
He frowns, the ache in his chest persisting the longer you talk. "And that's where I come in."
You throw your hands over your face and whimper. All of this was wrong. Coming to Nico when your insecurities over Simon and the wedding were eating you up was wrong. You knew that. But when you arrived at his apartment, the part of you that was telling you no had seemingly sprouted wings and flown off.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologise-"
"But I should," you interrupt him from behind your hands, "I should've gone to a bar and slept with the first guy to give me attention." You drop your hands, greeted only by a disapproving frown. "Not throw myself back into your life."
He hums before lifting your hand, pressing a quick kiss to the palm of your hand. It was enough of a distraction to give him enough time to slip the ring off your finger. "And I could've told you to leave," he counters, and you watch him reach across your body to put the ring on the bedside table, "that I didn't want to see you."
"But you didn't," you whisper, caged beneath his body, his forearm resting at your side and holding his weight up as he slots himself back between your thighs. You can't help but think about how right it feels to have him like this, and you don't feel guilty for thinking it.
He shakes his head. "No, I didn't."
He dips his head and you sigh, his breath warm as it hits your skin, his kisses soft as his mouth touches your neck. His tongue flicks out and trails against your sternum, moving lower to kiss over your breasts. Your body reacts, arching away from the bed, your head going dizzy as his hand moulds to the curve of your breast, his thumb rolling over your sensitive nipple.
"Nico," his name comes out breathy, and just loud enough for him to flick his eyes up to look at you.
"I'm glad you came to me," he tells you, kissing back up your neck, chasing your lips, "and didn't spend the night with some stranger." The kiss is soft and chaste, leaving you wanting more, but he pulls away. His eyes search yours for just a glimmer of hope. "I've missed you."
"I'm running out of time, Nico," you whimper, voice cracking and nuzzling your face into his palm as it cups your jaw.
Tomorrow you would leave for England, flying privately with Simon to his London apartment, and then travel north to his family's estate. From there, you had a week full of rehearsal dinners, photo opportunities, final dress fittings and then the big day. The whole week was planned out. It wouldn't surprise you if bathroom breaks were also part of that plan.
Come next week, you would no longer be Miss Y/L/N but Mrs Button instead. And you were yet to feel excited for any of it.
Nico kisses your cheek, the saltiness of your spilt tears lingering on his lips. If it was up to him, he'd ask for a second chance and deliver that ring personally to Simon himself.
He glances at the bedside table, the large diamond taunting him. The diamond should've been smaller and princess cut, not pear.
"Go tomorrow, if that's what you want, but promise me you'll only marry him because you're certain it's what you want. Don't do it because someone has told you it's the right thing to do." He presses his thumb against your jaw and rubs the calloused pad softly against you, watching your eyes flutter shut, more tears escaping. "He might be Mr Perfect but that doesn't make him perfect for you."
You open one eye, trying revel in his soft touch. "And if I decide not to go?"
"Then you do what you did tonight," Nico answers, lowering to kiss you, "you come back to me."

birdie’s 300 celly
i legit love this so much
From the beginning, Jack was very clear with you about keeping your relationship a secret from your brother. You told him countless times that Nico was harmless, but Jack couldn’t be convinced.
Maybe Nico showed the boys a different side of him in practice and in game, but you knew him as your lovable older brother.
Until Jack had told you a few weeks into your relationship that you were off limits to him, you didn’t even know Nico talked about you to the team at all.
When he introduced you to Jack during family skate a few months back, you immediately took a liking to him.
He was funny and easy to talk to, although apprehensive to get too close to you because of Nico’s supposed “threats.”
Over the past few months, you’d gotten to know Jack better and started a secret relationship. A lot of the time, sneaking around was hot, and the thrill of potentially getting caught fueled your desire, but you were getting restless.
You hadn’t said it to each other, but you loved Jack. You were serious about him and you knew he felt serious about you. You felt guilty hiding something you loved so much from your brother, who you obviously loved the most and told almost everything to.
That led you to tonight. You, the WAGs, and the team were out celebrating at a bar after a big win.
With a mixture of alcohol and the restlessness previously mentioned, you were being a little bit riskier than usual.
“Jack,” you said, tugging on his sleeve. “Jack, pay attention to me.”
He turned his head, his eyes locking onto yours, his mouth parted. “I am, baby.”
Uh oh. Jack was drunk too, and he didn’t even notice when he let the word slip. Ignoring the looks on Luke’s and Dawson’s faces, you giggled, taking his hand and pulling it around your shoulders, pressing your body into his side.
“If you were,” you teased, dragging out the last word and interlocking your fingers with his. You made an effort to whisper, but it came out louder than you intended. “You’d know I wanna be in your bed right now.”
“Jesus,” Breathed out Jack shamelessly. “I’ll take you there right now, say the word, honey.”
Nico had made it to the table, and at this point in the conversation, he heard pretty much everything he shouldn’t have.
Luke eyed Nico’s shocked expression. “I need to excuse myself,” he said awkwardly, tapping Dawson’s shoulder, signaling him to follow him and leaving Nico alone with you and Jack.
Both of you remained oblivious to your brother, too wrapped up in each other and the alcohol. It wasn’t until he cleared his throat that you realized he was standing there.
You took your eyes off of Jack but didn’t step from him. “Oh, hi, Neeks. This is my boyfriend, Jack. Do you know him?”
Jack, on the other hand, sobered up pretty quickly when he saw Nico, and immediately dropped his arm from your shoulder.
“I know him, but I’m not really sure why you’re dating him,” Nico joked, sounding pretty unaffected.
“Are you mad?” Jack asked quickly, like a child asking a parent for forgiveness.
“Why would I be mad?” Nico asked.
Jack gestured to you, pointing back and forth between you like it was obvious. “‘Cause she’s off limits, according to you.”
“I only said that so nobody would bother her, but I don’t think you’re bothering her.” Nico shrugged, nonchalantly sipping his beer.
“Can I say something?” you interjected, raising your hand. “I totally knew you’d be cool with this because you’re the best brother ever.” You rounded the table and practically launched yourself onto Nico, completely disregarding the fact that he was holding a drink.
“Okay, time for you to go home,” Nico laughed, setting his spilt beer bottle on the table and patting your back. He glared at Jack from over your shoulder. “You’re not taking her, though. I don’t mind if you date her, just never talk to her like that in front of me and we won’t have a problem.”
Jack’s face burned red at the thought of the conversation that Nico overheard. “Sorry, Cap.”
Nico nodded, his glare replaced with a pleasant smile and he guided you to the bar’s exit, much to your dismay.
