Christopher Mathias at HuffPost:
A coalition of 185 social justice and religious groups published an open letter Monday expressing support for the campus protest encampments sweeping the country in opposition to Israel’s siege of Gaza, and calling on university administrators to end the brutal crackdowns of the student-led demonstrations. “We commend the students who are exercising their right to protest peacefully despite an overwhelming atmosphere of pressure, intimidation and retaliation, to raise awareness about Israel’s assault on Gaza — with U.S. weapons and funding,” the letter states. “These students have come forth with clear demands that their universities divest from corporations profiting from Israeli occupation, and demanding safe environments for Palestinians across their campuses. ” Groups that signed the letter include Gen-Z for Change, Working Families Party, IfNotNow Movement, Young Democrats of America Black Caucus, Movement for Black Lives, Sunrise Movement, MPower Change, Jewish Voice for Peace, Palestine Legal, and the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Some 900 students have been arrested during anti-war encampments and demonstrations at American universities in the last 10 days, per a tally from Al Jazeera — a tumultuous period that mirrors volatile demonstrations against the Vietnam War in 1968, when police arrested at least 700 students. The open letter Monday represents one of the largest shows of support among progressive groups for the burgeoning student protests, and makes clear the divide between establishment Democratic figures and social justice groups when it comes to U.S. support for Israel. President Joe Biden has refused so far to condition the sale of weapons to Israel. “Our communities have been horrified to see the militarized and violent response to students protesting an ongoing genocide funded and supported by our government, and our coalition of organizations join millions of our members across the country in standing in solidarity with the students’ efforts in support of the people of Gaza,” Yasmine Taeb, one of the main organizers of the letter, told HuffPost. Taeb is a human rights lawyer and political director at MPower Change, a Muslim social justice group.
“Instead of attacking young people mobilizing for Palestinian human rights, President Biden needs to listen to the majority of Americans who have been calling on him to stop funding and supporting the atrocities committed against the people of Gaza,” Taeb said.
[...] Israel has killed over 33,000 Palestinians since Oct. 7, when the Gaza-based militant group Hamas launched an attack in which nearly 1,200 Israelis were killed. In January, the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel’s siege of Gaza — which has displaced 85% of the population and put the occupied territory on the cusp of famine — left Palestinians at risk of experiencing a genocide. Last week, health officials in Gaza said medics had discovered mass graves at hospitals raided by Israeli troops. “We join [the students] in calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire and an end to the U.S. government’s and institutions’ role in the ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza,” Monday’s letter states. “As we stand in solidarity with the students protesting in encampments across the country, we reaffirm our commitment to amplifying their voices, condemn the university administration officials’ violent response to their activism, and demand that universities remove the presence of police and other militarized forces from their campuses,” it continues.
[...] Meanwhile, Republican Party officials and right-wing media figures have accused the demonstrations of antisemitism, falsely equating criticism of Israel with bigotry towards Jews. Although there have been scattered reports of actual antisemitic incidents at or near the encampments, many were not perpetrated by students but by interlopers. Many of the student protesters across the country are Jewish. Far-right agitators, including Christian nationalist activists, have also targeted the encampments, with MAGA pastor Sean Feucht leading hundreds of Christian and Jewish Zionists on a march around the Columbia campus on Thursday. The rally ended with pro-Israel demonstrators yelling through the gate at pro-Palestinian Columbia students. “Go back to Gaza!” they screamed.
More than 185 groups, including IfNotNow, Jewish Voice For Peace, MPower Change, and Working Families Party, signed a letter in support of the campus protests against Israel Apartheid State's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Hello stupid. You should have known better than to run to me when you thought that your "grand dad" wanted to pound on you...again. You don't run to me. I'm crazy, only stupid you doesn't know that. Don't you think that your Dad would prefer that you take the risk of being hit again rather than running away and making your Dad look incompetent, negligent, ignorant, an imbecilic failure, an ineffectual drug addict and dare I say look STUPID too. Don't make your Dad look bad. You know, we know, everyone knows, even the Sheriff knows that Doug won't hit you again, not in a million years, because your Dad is so powerful and only has to speak once and everyone, even your god bows down and listens. Your Dad's a real hero. So man up stupid; and don't run to me.
I'm crazy.
Everyone knows that.
Everyone but you.
Because your stupid.

Let's Get One Thing Straight
Concerning the above, I must mention that you set this fire with children present not because you didn't know any better, but because you just didn't care, no concern at all that the smoke might be bad for young lungs, no skin off your ass. You did it blinded at the encouragement of Brent Vitale to harass, to hurt, to threaten others. Your intent was bad and your complete lack of any concern for your own children's safety made it easy to do.
I do imagine, yes I do, that in your, Brent's and your friends perverted mindset, that somehow your actions weren't your responsibility. They were. You and no one but you set the fires with you children in them and you did so to harass, hurt and threaten, with again no regard for a child's health. You own that like a child abuser that's proud to be one.
The County was aware of all this and the situation with myself and Marshall Reddick. Was it a plan, intent, the aim of the County to help a child abuser like you or did they 99% just want to help get rid of me and Linda (Linda and I are were a package deal). Likely, I'd bet they just wanted to get rid of us rather than be solely motivated to assist shit like you.

In dramatic developments, police officers at Washington University have arrested the leader of a Hamas terror cell: 73-year-old Jewish presidential candidate Jill Stein.
The arrest of Stein is considered to be the most significant moment in the war on terror since the killing of Osama Bin Laden in 2011. You will be relieved to hear many members of Stein’s Islamist cell were taken down, including her campaign manager, deputy campaign manager, and one hundred university students who had been chanting the Jihadist slogan “ceasefire now!”
Israel has advised US authorities to deny the terrorists access to lawyers and shackle them until their limbs have to be amputated. It has also advised that if any protesters remain on campus, the best strategy is to send in bulldozers to bury them alive, in self-defence, of course. Israel has thanked the US for diverting attention from the mass graves that have been found in Gaza.
It was feared that if Americans were aware that mass graves containing around 700 bodies had been found around hospitals in Gaza, they might break free from the MSM hypnosis and develop empathy for Palestinians. Thankfully, they now have a bigger crisis to focus on - teary Zionists who claim they feel “unsafe” in Missouri.

Terror leader Stein was captured at Washington University where she had outrageously tried to de-escalate tensions by making a speech and pleading with police officers to calm the fuck down. It was clearly impossible for onlookers who didn’t need to be there to calm down because Hamas terrorists were scaring everyone by sitting on the ground, eating snacks. This meant police were forced to act.
Officers heroically rushed into the picnic and started grabbing people wielding half-eaten sandwiches and bottles of water. Among the people they shoved around, until she was arrested, was Jill Stein. A police officer showed remarkable restraint by not shooting Stein with his assault rifle, instead repeatedly shoving his bicycle into the 73-year-old woman’s face, which is a perfectly legitimate crowd control tactic.
Police later confirmed Stein was arrested due to serious concerns she was providing political opposition to the uniparty. Her arrest should help ensure America’s presidential choices are the guy who supports a woke genocide and the guy who supports an anti-woke genocide.
Stein claims to be the leader of the Green Party, but this can’t be true because it is illegal for US politicians to not take bribes from AIPAC. As part of the swearing in process, members of Congress and the Senate hold up a Bible and say the words “Israel has a right to defend itself” three times without blinking. If they fail to do this, they are chained and lowered into a pit of lava. Recordings of their screams are periodically played to politicians to remind them to stay in line.
As a precautionary measure, the CIA has declared the Green Party is Hamas, just like the United Nations and TikTok, and anyone who supports the Greens will be sent to Guantanamo Bay. Stein had already been censored on social media because the CIA labelled her a Russian operative because she objected to their obsession with starting wars. Remember, Russia is bad because it crushes dissent and jails political opposition. Thankfully, the good guys have been doing everything they can to ensure Stein is silenced, but even they didn’t reckon on her joining Hamas.
Any Jewish person who opposes genocide is Hamas because Jews are only allowed to have one set of opinions. If they diverge from the group think, they are “self-hating Jews” and therefore fair game for the police state. It’s good to know the war on terror is keeping Americans safe from wrong think x
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article said the arrest of Stein took place at Washington state. However, Washington University is not in Washington state, just like Washington DC is not in Washington state. The university is in Missouri (I think) and the city is at the opposite end of the country. This is one of the many reasons why the US is the most rational country on earth x

Adoption of Zai technology for soil fertility management: evidence from Upper East region, Ghana
Abstract
Zai is a conventional soil rehabilitation management practice where organic matter is buried in a small pit to help restore fertility and conserve water in the soil. However, adoption of this environmentally-friendly technology is low. This study makes two key contributions. First, it identifies the determinants of adoption and intensity of adoption of Zai technology for soil fertility management. Second, it performs diagnostic tests to show that Cragg’s double-hurdle as compared to the Heckman and the standard Tobit regression models is the best econometric approach to identify factors influencing farmers’ decision to adopt and the extent of adoption of the Zai in the Upper East region, Ghana. Results from the Cragg’s double-hurdle model revealed that different set of variables affect the probability and the intensity of adoption of Zai technology. The paper concludes that farm households should be encouraged to engage in non-farm economic activities to complement their farm income and enhance the purchase of productive farm inputs. Moreover, farm-level policies oriented towards increasing access to agricultural extension services, credit facilities, and the facilitation of farmer groups are essential to improving the adoption of farm innovations such as the Zai technology.
1 Introduction
The World population is projected to be more than 9 billion by 2050, which is expected to increase the global food demand by 70% between 2005 and 2050 (Nazziwa-Nviiri et al. 2017). Most of these increases are expected to come from developing countries of which Ghana is no exception (United Nations 2011; Alexandratos and Bruinsma 2012). This situation would put upward pressure on agricultural land which is limited by the law of diminishing marginal returns. Hence, identifying, promoting and adoption of sustainable farm technologies are crucial to increase food supply and to address the challenges of environmental degradation. Simtowe et al. (2011) indicated that the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies remains the route through which developing nations could combat poverty and attain food security.

There is one person who says that he knows for certain the the Ball's nosepicker knew of who was setting those fires. That's criminal; it would result in revocation of any license to practice law and negate any rental agreement. Especially a rental agreement initiated where a valid agreement already existed.
The nosepicker was also used to assist the judge in avoiding any topic of illegality by the owners or Travis and Jennifer concerning negligence towards sanitation of one of the Ball's property and the scam used by Brighalli and DeCere to fabricate false fines and fees.
The current tenant has no legal lease.

According to Laura, Doug did beat the boys. The day the boys were dropped off, you made the mistake of dropping them off with only Doug at home. They didn't want to be alone with Doug. You made a mistake. They were terrified of Doug. I was working on my cars and both boys ran over to me. It was obvious that the boys were terrified of Doug, who again, according to Laura had hit them.
So, following this, you invaded the space behind our home: fires, firecrackers, shouting obscenities and peering in our bedroom windows. This behavior of yours, of threatening, and harassing and terrorizing both of us, began immediately after your mistake of dropping off the two boys alone with Doug, causing them to run away to nearest person they could find. But this was not the reason that you began to harass us. You had entered into an agreement with Travis DeCere and Jennifer Umanzor to harass us free of worry that Marshall Reddick or Law Enforcement would interfere with your behavior. And that is why your children would be better off without you.
I believe justice would be burning Marshall Reddick to the ground, with Travis and Jennifer locked in the building.
You do know people who like to do this sort of thing.

We applaud changes that have been made for early-career researchers, with more women and historically excluded scholars entering research-training institutions now than ever before. But too often, we lose out on investments made by government funders and institutions in early-career researchers because the system was not built to increase the diversity of leaders as they move up the career ladder.
For 25 years, women have made up more than 40% of the medical student body in the United States, but less than 20% of department chairs in academic medicine. Without a major policy shift to accelerate the rate of diversification among leaders in the country, it will take 50 years for academic medicine to reach gender parity1. That’s way too long.
We must address this with urgency, as women’s perspectives and leadership are key in developing new therapies and improving representation in clinical trials. We need more role models for trainees and junior faculty. All of this leads to pipeline retention and more innovative discovery.

This Self-Heating Concrete Melts Snow – No Power Needed
How do you get the snow off the sidewalk in front of your house? Our apartment building has a snow-duty schedule for the winter, and let me just say I’d often wished the sidewalk would just clear itself. A team of material scientists at Drexel University in Philadelphia just made my dream come true. They’ve invented self-heating concrete that warms up on its own when temperatures drop below zero. It’s basically magic, except it’s physics. Let’s have a look.
In Reykjavik they heat sidewalks with hot water from geothermal sources. But people in more boring countries don’t have that luxury. So we salt and sand and sweep and swear and now we could be using this concrete. This new magic concrete is infused with a type of paraffin that absorbs energy when temperatures are above 5 degrees Celsius and then gradually releases this energy when temperatures drop to zero and below. It’s what’s called a phase change material that releases energy when it turns from a liquid to a solid.
They embedded the paraffin into the concrete with two different methods. One is to just mix the stuff into the concrete as a fluid, the other one is to use microcapsules and mix those into the concrete. They then, well poured the concrete in several slabs and put them out in the Philadelphia winter. You can see the result here for yourself. In this time-lapse video from some cold Philadelphia nights, you see the concrete with the microcapsules on the left and the one with the fluid mixed in in the middle. You can clearly see how the self-heating concrete accumulates less snow and also that that the fluid-mix works better than the microcapsules. In their paper they write that the warming effect works 6 to 8 hours or so and down to minus 5 or minus ten degrees, depending on exactly what type of phase change material they use. It’s designed to kick in when night temperatures drop below zero and actually a very practical range. It could cope with up to 2 inches of snow which is more than we get most winters, so sign me up. Of course there’s the question what putting the liquid into the concrete does to the durability of the material. Well, I guess more work is needed, but the researchers think that overall, it will benefit the material. Because one of the major reasons for cracks in concrete and street covers is that water gets in, freezes, expands and then creates cracks. Pouring salt or other chemicals onto streets degrades the materials further and can also damage the environment. Self-heating concrete might therefore not just save us the work of removing the snow but in the long run also be more durable and more cost efficient.
Sounds good. But what about this phase changing material, that is some sort of paraffine. These types of phase change materials are produced from fossil fuels, tend to be expensive and if the stuff leaks into the ground that’s not all that great for the environment. Then again, some labs are working on bio-compatible alternatives from animal fats or plants and maybe these could become used in the future. This self-heating concrete is just one example of a “smart material”. There are many more in the works. The defining feature of smart materials is that they have a custom-designed response to their environment. According to a recent report by Globe Newswire, the global market for smart materials will grow over 7 percent by 2030. I think it’s one of most underreported trends in science. A simple example of a smart material that has been around for a while fluids that change viscosity in response to magnetic fields. These are now often used as dampers in which the dampening strength can be controlled by an electromagnet. There are also materials that change colour in response to temperatures. Several companies are now putting them to use for example to track whether a food item or medicine has been consistently stored at low temperatures.
At Stevens University in New Jersey, materials scientists are creating self-healing concrete. It contains polymer fibres that, when the material develops a crack, spill into the crack and pull it back together.
Then there are smart paints like this recent invention by a group from the University of Vienna. It’s white paint that sheds off dirt when light falls onto it. And along the way it cleans the air too.
To be fair many of these smart material ideas are far away from hitting the consumer market. Maybe some of them turn out to be not robust or durable enough. But there’s a lot of promise in this research area. I think we underestimate the relevance of material science because let’s be honest it sounds kind of boring. But there’s a reason scientists classify prehistory by materials: the stone age, the bronze age, the ion age. It’s because the ability to use certain materials made such a huge difference to people’s lives.
Smart materials aren’t going to change our life in a snap, but they’ll be a quiet revolution that will make our entire living environment more responsive and efficient. It won’t be long, and our walls will be more intelligent than we are.
