Once upon a time in the vibrant city of Neonopolis, there stood a sleek nightstand named Luna. Luna was no ordinary piece of furniture; she possessed a magical ability to come to life at night, embarking on thrilling adventures across the neon-lit streets.

On this particular night, Luna decided to don a pair of crisp white socks and her favorite blue and white Nike walking shoes. With each step she took, a faint glow emanated from her shoes, leaving a trail of light in her wake as she ventured out into the bustling city.

I went to a couple concerts here, when this space was Jillian’s. It was a great spot for small shows, plus the bands always talked about bowling when they performed there lol. I walked Neonopolis early in the morning, when no one was around, and was jolted back in time about 10 years when I saw those posters on the wall; we lined up there before the shows. Nostalgia can hit you pretty hard, when it wants. February 2018

402 Fremont was built in the 40s and was first home to Corey’s Fine Foods restaurant. The sign for Chief Hotel Court seen in the photo was a temporary installation of the Neon Museum. In 2012, Val and I thought we’d visit Fremont Street once more. By this time, there had been a new addition to the area....a big multi-screen movie theater and lots of little shops. The area was known as Neonopolis. The really great part was the collection of old neon signs, some of them relics of their lives in front of hotels that were on The Strip in years gone by. Other than the signs, the whole area just seemed rather sad, a bit tacky and more of a tourist trap than ever before. The area under the canopy was full of carts and kiosks and a zip-line and pushy people. We never had the inclination to go back.
