Eddie snapped bitterly from her chair. Even though her hands shook with the words, she was rather proud of how she manged to keep her voice in a solid tone and strength. She was getting good at this. Shame she was probably about to die right after developing this skill.

“Well if that don’t smell like teen spirit.” His voice creaked, the deep drop crackling along with the flame that surrounded him. He was never one for stake outs: never led to much and made him feel creepier then being a walking skeleton already did. But this one? Watching him? The sulfur lingering in the air between them had brought him a promising lead. Every step he took closer was highlighted by embers burning up the ground under him. The idle swing of his chain was a toss up between a threat and habit. Honestly, all he wanted was a word. “Just what are you kid? I could feel whatever it is you got going on under there all the way off the Route 87.”
