Twilight Fancasts of Main Cast + Opinions

This is mostly based on my last Twilight fancast post I made, which was just Bella, Edward and Jacob. I've decided to think of more actors to add in the mix, might have to make separate posts for all the characters, though.

Bailey Bass as Bella Swan

Jun Shison as Edward Cullen

1. If bro can play a kitsune in a human's body I'm pretty sure he can pull off Edward. We just need to know if Jun Shison speaks English.

2. Also, Edward needs to be an evil dick just because of vampire reasons. He needs to be mysterious and in a good way, not the way the movies portrayed him awkwardly.

Dakota Beavers as Jacob Black

Don't make him cut his hair, and he needs to be Native American.

Also, get rid of the whole imprinting thing if they're just going to make it gross.

Julia Rehwald as Alice Cullen

I read short hair and small frame, and I thought of her.

Evan Rachel Wood as Rosalie Hale

I found out she was around 16 when playing Tracy from Thirteen, which might make this fancast iffy since I'm using her teenage self for the gif, considering the other actors I fancasted are 18+. But I remember watching the film and thinking that she looked like she would make a great Rosalie, which is ironic since Nikki Reed also starred in Thirteen. I know she's quite old, but I think we should find a look-a-like that looks like her younger self.

Tanner Buchanan as Jasper Hale

1. I was trying to find handsome but creepy blond actors. Wasn't really able to find any, so bare with this. I think Tanner could manage being mysterious and creepy.

Chosen Jacobs as Emmett Cullen

1. I remember reading some human version fanfics of the main characters, and in some of them Emmett would be Bella's older - and sometimes twin - brother. With that in mind, if Bella's black/mixed, then Emmett is too because why not?

Antony Star as Carlisle Cullen

1. I think Carlisle's human body should be older, and thus also be played by an older actor. I know Antony Star doesn't have those same vibes that Carlisle does, but he does give off a stern exterior when playing Homelander in some scenes, and I wanna see that is Carlisle.

Emmy Rossum as Esme Cullen

1. I don't know what to think of Esme other than the fact that I know that she's taller than Bella and randomly gave some info that she lost her baby very soon. I figured she was older when she was turned, just like I envisioned for Carlisle, but somewhat looks very young (I mean, a person is still young even if they're in their thirties).

Wood Harris as Charlie Swan

1. I'm looking for old head vibes. Man from the old hip hop vibes. "Guy that listens to Tupac regularly" vibes.

2. Also, let Charlie be a temporary supernatural hunter that protects Forks.

Zahn McClarnon as Billy Black

Chace Crawford as James

James is described to be very plain looking, despite the fact that he had the vampirism that was supposed to make him look more appealing, so I was thinking about The Deep whilst reading the book.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Laurent

I think Edi Gathegi really stood out as Laurent, more dark skinned villains please.

2. Since Laurent is hinted to come from thanks to his accent I decided to pick an actor that is from New Orleans. I don't know why, I just decided to. Maybe I memorised some kind of misinformation about there being French speakers, I don't know.

3. If they really do make a Twilight remake and they toss Laurent to the side I'm actually gonna be so mad, because Laurent's appearance was promising, and then they chose James' boring arse.

Sophie Skelton as Victoria

I loved Rachelle Lefevre's performance as Victoria, so I want that same vibe of "seemingly innocent but clearly has a hidden agenda/motive". I know it's been a while since she's been in any films (from what I know), but I think she can pull it off. Since Laurent is hinted to be French I think it would be great that they let her be British when playing Victoria. (There's no they, but play along.)

hey bestie i'm finally here with that essay about jacob fighting for bella's humanity w/o being a love interest bc the potential that has! he's set up to be the perfect avenue for it! he's the warmth and sun that she loved from arizona; he's the community and family she could be deeply enmeshed in w/ charlie and billy; he's a childhood friend who grew up (which bella's going to lose the potential to do if she becomes a vampire! and she's going to forget that past!); he's someone who fixes up old damaged cars instead of having perfect ones, and they aren't the *same* but they're still good...he's literally thematically everything best abt being human that bella will lose, AND examples of the negatives she sees in humanity, (all the times she thinks abt how the wolves are fragile in comparison to the vampires)...and it would just be SO fascinating to see that played out w/out the romance. it would honestly be even more powerful! bc baked into smeyer's worldbuilding is that vampires prioritize their romantic partners above everything else and having jacob be the true contrast to that where he's a platonic connection that bella genuinely values equally and she has to think abt how becoming a vampire would cut her off from the potential of connections like that!!! i am thinking so many thoughts

you're so right about Jacob being the perfect avenue to explore Bella's doubt about vampirism! the warmth & family & community & LOVE & acceptance & nostalgia she loves about humanity is all embodied in Jacob's character & in their relationship. she likes hand-me-downs & homemade gifts! she likes acts of service! she likes reckless stunts that remind her of her own fragility & weakness! she likes warm sodas & spaghetti dinners! she likes being reminded that she belongs somewhere! & THIS IS JACOB <3

the fact that their relationship isn't utilized to this end (or any end, really) is my biggest problem with Eclipse. Bella drops little hints in the narrative that she's nervous about becoming a vampire. there are so many opportunities— e.g. when Rose tells her story— for her to reflect on what she's giving up.

in the end, she doesn't sum up the argument in a compelling way & doesn't make her choice in a believable way.

in part because the event that kicks off her grand realization that she's not ready (AKA THE CONFLICT OF HER ENTIRE SERIES ARC) is ...graduation

big life event as a catalyst seems to make sense. but how relevant is it to her narrative? & once it's brought up, we don't we see her digging into why she's nervous. what about saying goodbye makes her not ready? what about getting what she wants terrifies her? what does she need to sort through? what plans does she need to make? we're left to wonder what's running through Bella's mind re: the biggest decision of the series...in a first person narrative. no!!!

Jacob, who embodies all these ideals of her humanity, should be the one to push her to this realization. the climax of her internal conflict should be focused around him: losing him physically/emotionally (or both), & everything he represents. there is so much weight that her relationship with Jacob adds to her choice if she's allowed to love him and Edward unconditionally! as a romantic interest, all Jacob's doing is pushing her away.

(& that's why this whole fucking triangle makes no sense. he loves her so much he remembers her from early childhood. he loves her so much he'll sit there for months & pick up her broken pieces. he loves her so much he'll spend every moment just doing silly little hobbies together. he loves her so much he wants to fight for her humanity "until her heart stops beating" AND EVEN AFTER. but he doesn't love her enough to respect her choices or opinions? he doesn't love her enough to know that by being an asshole, he's pushing her closer to death? imo this is where we see stephie's grubby hands moving pieces. Jacob loves her more than he's in love with her.)

& so, because the "i'm not ready" realization is tied to something Bella doesn't give a shit about, the realization that she is ready is equally empty

what makes her decide she's ready to become a vampire is GUILT & FEAR & ANGUISH. she's "ready" to become a vampire because she feels weak & useless. worse, this realization is not touched on as the event (the training sesh) unfolds. she has this realization OFF-PAGE & then shows up to Edward's proposal like "yeah i'm ready to become a vampire but first i wanna fuck :)"

& we're supposed to buy that? girl, you resolved nothing internally. you didn't show us what changed for you. you're making this decision out of fear instead of out of love. & we're supposed to believe this is what little miss "thoughtful & responsible" wants???

it's such a blatant disregard to all the growth she went through & the relationships she developed. you can't just turn Jacob in a fucking asshole & turn the choice into a non-choice & call it day. Jacob deserves better, Bella deserves better, & the readers deserve better!!

MAKE 👏 EVERYONE 👏 SUFFER👏👏👏

I understand filmmakers wanting to be all “authentic” but they fail to understand the difference between a gory action & violent film like a fictional Sci-fi versus that same depiction of real people and their predecessors’ traumas & deaths. For me, It’s crazy watching slavery films because I can’t help but feel uncomfortable. Then I wonder is this style of storytelling working to help with the understanding of what our ancestors went through OR is this solely for entertainment purposes or to “reminisce” about the old days? Then…I just think of all the non-indigenous communities &/or non-black & brown communities who watch this & take pleasure in seeing these women get assaulted & the men & children killed.

So I recently binged the Twilight movies with my sibling because we were both sick and wanted something to watch that wouldn't tax our brains to much, and we wanted to understand the pop culture surrounding it. (For reference, the day I am writing this is on the twentieth of the fourth month 2023.) I want to rewrite the whole thing as less problematic, and the first thing I wanna tackle is the misrepresentation of the Quileute Tribe.

I am not a native American, nor do I have a native American friend, so if anyone who reads this who is a native American and has issues with my idea's or criticisms please let me know.

I wouldn't include the indigenous people from a place of wanting to fetishize native Americans or any other group of people not of European descent, or for the kick that modern producers seem to get when labeling themselves as woke. It's purely because they were in the original Twilight books and I think there is something valuable in that.

The first solution I had was to completely scrape the ethnicity of the werewolves and just have it be random people like vampires are just random people. They could all just live on a settlement or something like that. But that idea just didn't sit right with me, for the reason listed above.

The second solution I had was to just make up tribe, but that just seemed insulting and I immediately dropped the idea and kicked myself in the face for even considering it.

The third idea that I had was to have Jacob and his family be indigenous and the rest of the pack just be a bunch of randos, and the whole werewolf thing having nothing to do with the Quileute Tribe. He and his family would just be native americans, not strings attached.

Twlight Headcanons + Fancasts

After years of only seeing the movies I'm finally reading the book. First one only. The reason why I'm not acknowledging the other books is because I heard Stephanie Meyer purposefully made Jacob unlikable so that the readers would vouch for Edward more.

Bailey Bass as Bella Swan

She's mix raised: I started reading Bella as black because of how much of myself I saw as her and as the chapters went on her skin became darker.

She's autistic: Edward is her special interest and it doesn't help that she has trouble regulating her emotions. She definitely got them from Charlie.

She has aphantasia: The inability to imagine things. She still has thoughts, she just can't imagine. Not the reason why she's a shield though. The reason I think this is because I've come across many memes saying there's nothing going on in her head.

Renee is an abusive parent: She moved in with Charlie in an effort to get away from Renee. She's willing to suffer bad weather if it means no longer being parentified. What's worse is that Bella wasn't even looking after any children, she was looking after her own mother.

Jin Akanishi as Edward Cullen

He's 1/4 Japanese on his mother's side: I was trying my best not to imagine Robert Pattinson and the result ended up with me imagining Yoon Ji-hoo from Boys Over Flower (Korean ver). So yes, Edward is Asian.

He's a monster: I actually like the idea of Edward being quite evil, because let's face it he is in canon, but he prefers being a poser. He's evil in that typical vampire way where their humanity is almost gone.

Thinks Bella is cute when she's angry: Enjoys banter with Bella, so long as it's not misplaced.

Dakota Beavers as Jacob Black

He and Bella can relate: With the difference being that Billy isn't abusive.

Wolf: There's a spiritual side to it as well. Jacob isn't very in tune with his spiritual side, but he does occasionally try to communicate with his ancestors.

Little brother figure: Bro is 15 there's no way he's ending up with Bella. I think the conflict between him and Edward should lean onto Edward being dangerous with Jacob being protective rather than most of being relationship wise. Things between Jacob and Bella should always be platonic.

The following info is from Tamsin Pickeral’s book 'The Horse: 3000 Years of the Horse in Art’, p. 243.

Miller accompanied the Scottish soldier Sir William Drummond Stewart on his expedition across the American West in 1837. The followed the route that was later known as the Oregon Trail through what is now Nebraska and along the Green River in Wyoming. During the trip Miller sketched and painted the unfolding culture before him, such as fur trappers and Native Americans, especially the Shoshone, known to many white settlers as the Snake Indians.

Twilight gets a remake set in 202x, they cast some popular actors who are ten years older than the characters and play them like every romantic drama MCs ever, it includes everything that's popular now, or has been like a year ago, clothing trends, tiktok whatevers, bad political references and the wanna-be "wokeness", all that terrible remake stuff. On Oct. 27, Native artist and activist Jacob Johns posted an update to his social media about his recovery after being shot in the chest at a rally last month in New Mexico, but his recovery may create some challenges.

Within less than a month, Johns is supposed to be the lead organizer of a delegation that is going to Dubai for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). However, given the state of his injuries and recovery, Ferguson said that they are not sure if he will be able to travel.
