A part of Milah never felt like she quite deserved Todd after having left his oldest brother.

She didn’t crave pineapple with him (though Killian had bought her one just to see, and she actually enjoyed it). She went through a cycle of cravings. Sometimes it was pickles and eggs (but not pickled eggs), sometimes it was a bowl of strawberries, tomatoes, and cheese, sometimes salted meats, and through it all she ate more citrusy fruits and boiled mackrel in a week than she usually did in a month.

There were a few months where she’d been convinced he was going to be a girl.

A part of her was relieved when he wasn’t because she didn’t know how to handle girls.

(A part of her was wistful about it though, but only as a passing thought.)

When deciding on tattoos, she’d briefly considered a fox of flames emerging from a bonfire, but she wanted her boys to have their own brand on her skin.

Olivia grabbed her box and she scooted out her closet. She took in a deep breath and ventured out of her room and went to Todd’s bedroom. She clutched her box close to her chest as she knocked on his door.

1. Tattoo

As with many pirates, Milah has a couple tattoos. Unlike many pirates, she drew them herself. Each one means something to her. Todd’s existence is painted on her skin as well in the form of a small fox kit dancing along her inner forearm. When she rotates her wrist she is tickled at how the tattoo looks like it’s wiggling happily about.

2. Guilt and Fear

While pregnant with him Milah spent many restless nights trying to squash away her fears, her biggest being that she would fail this one as she had her first. More than once she fell asleep crying while whispering ‘I’ll do better by you promise, promise, promise.’ She spent many years in the Underworld wondering if she had.

3. The Underworld

Milah very much did Not Like that her son traveled with everyone else to the Underworld. Despite this, she was beyond grateful she was able to see him again, hoping that her hands fussing over him were welcome rather than an annoyance. She saw the shadows in his eyes and wanted to destroy whoever put them there but hugged him close instead and tried to make up for centuries of not being able to say ‘I love you’ to him. (She was very touched by the hair beads, not needing to be told what they were for.)

4. Cursed in Storybrooke

Despite being a nurse who primarily took care of children she did not think that she did well with them. She understood their actions in a clinical way but a part of her was always convinced it was her fault when they cried. So she tried to avoid them as much as she could outside of her job. Then she met Nicholas and while she still didn’t know what to do she actually wanted to. She wanted to feed him, to decorate the spare bedroom in her tiny house the way he would like, to keep him safe from the people and environment that would hurt him. It probably should have bothered her that she didn’t know why she wanted all of this, but it didn’t.

1) In the Dark and Cursed in Storybrooke universe, she tries hard to hide from him the extent of how much she’s changed over the past few centuries, especially during the time between the ‘heart crush’ and her becoming the dark one. She doesn’t think there’s much of his mother left in her.

2) When on the Jolly Roger, she tried to teach Todd to draw. She would pull him in her lap when he was small enough and would spend a few minutes trying to teach him different techniques. Then she would leave him to his art while she worked on hers. (She’d done the same with Baelfire.)

Olivia is pretty close to Slightly. She loves him just as she loves Henry and would do anything for him. 

He’s one of the few that can pull her out of a bad mood. He usually tells her a funny story or just pokes her until she’s feeling better about whatever is bothering her. 

She’s stolen from him a few times and he’s caught her doing it. The first time she had to explain about her kleptomania. He understood and after that he didn’t get too upset about but she still feels awful whenever she has to bring something back to him after having it store away from a long time. 

Olivia has convinced him to teach her how to sail and she’s eager to get out onto the ocean.
