Sooooo... i wanted to stick this little rambly thing at the bottom of the redraw but it would have made it look UGLY so im doing this separately... just wanna talk about the whole thing and What Not.

TLDR: its been a slash positive ride thats been worth it to try "something new" every year and my favorite piece out of all of them is the 9th. also for the curious heres the comparison of the 5th anni piece to the recent one (2018 -> 2023)

anyway. personal post time.

oh where to begin *rocks on my rocking chair* i guess it would be with the 5th anniversary piece...at the time it had been a long while since i did lineless art and i thought it would be cool to try it again for that one so i did by redrawing an old piece from 2014... that was the first "finished piece" i made of Them. i think i even made it into a wallpaper for myself lmao. anyway after i posted it i was like "aw man i should draw something every year until the 10th" but i thought yeah right. im going to forget next year like the idiot i am. but i Some How managed to do one every year... th worms got me... i honestly didnt think id make it all the way to the 10th but i did!! AND WITHOUT MISSING A DAY EXCEPT FOR THE 7TH WHERE I WAS A WEEK LATE???? UNREAL especially when fun fact! every year i had no idea what i wanted to do! all i knew for sure is that i wanted each piece to be out of my comfot zone to push me to do something a little different. unfortunately the subjects tm where always the same so it feels a little. samey. but these are my celebratory posts I GET TO ONLY POST ABOUT THE OTP SUPER BLORBOS OF ALL TIME

the 6th anniversary was a redraw of that one scene. you know the one. the helicopter one. fucking hate that scene btw it actually causes me psychic damage i cant watch with the audio or ill scream. but it is my favorite scene of mine despite all the horrors it causes <3 and i wanted to redraw it as if it was a cartoon... like i had taken screencaps from the lcu cartoon in my head. i still remember the backgrounds being such a pain in the ass. honestly id like to go back and redo this one one day too or do something similar to the concept because its a fun one that i always saw done growing up and i wanted to try it myself.

for the 7th anniversary you can see the turn.. no more humans... return to lego... i was getting a little more confident in drawing them in the lego form so i did another redraw this time with the ending!! honestly i still like this one and how it looks even with how late it was but i wanted to test my confidence and do a real True and Finished piece with COLORED LINES and EVERYTHING!!!!! im glad i ended up taking the turn because for the LONGEST TIME i wanted to try and draw them as lego so bad because all i did was draw them as humans and its funny because now its the exact opposite. glad this piece was kinda the solidification in my head that yeah okay im a bit better at drawing the stylized lego toy now i can keep drawing them like this without feeling like im going to want to delete this in 2 weeks.

the 8th anniversary one is so weird. somewhere toward the beginning of the year it got into my head that i wanted to do a comic of them but time/school would have gotten in the way so i ended up opting for a page. another redraw of the ending scene which honestly out of all of them this is my least favorite one and its solely because its all so off. i def could have formated it better so the background shot doesnt take up the entire fucking page but then again im not a comic guy and this was my first time so the layout was bound to look HORRID but this is something id like to come back to ive had the idea of making like a genuine short comic about them since FOREVER and now that im a bit more experienced (lying) i would like to make one day!!!! just gotta stop getting caught up in my scripts!! and going in circles!! Because im obviously not a writer and i keep getting first-hand embarrassment from these!! but ill get over it one day lol.

OH THE 9TH ANNIVERSARY PIECE MY BELOVED. ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIECES ACTUALLY i love this stupid thing so much you have no idea.i know its re-using lineless but i just loved the idea of what it would look like lineless AND IT CAME OUT SO PERFECT I LOVE IT SO MUCH obv it needs a few touch-ups so the main issues dont stand out to me but god. i love this piece so much. idk what came out of me to make this but its so good ill never get over it. and the little lego them as a cake topper ITS JUST SO CUTE I DONT HAVE MUCH TO SAY OTHER THAN I LOVE THIS SO MUCH SORRY

finally. the 10th anniversary piece. oh my god. okay. i need everyone to understand this. i had woken up with this fucking Unbearable pounding headache that was trying to kill me. my body the entire day wanted me to stop and lie down, but last night i was already done with a good chunk of it and all i had to do that day was finish some lines and the coloring?? i literally don't remember all i remember is my body actively trying to shut down and force me to stop and sleep which i took a nap? didnt help. so i said fuck it im finishing this. i was. an entire goddamn corpse arched over my laptop. i was so delirious the entire time its a fucking miracle it even came out as good as it did but honestly. i still hate how it fucking looks. like you can TELL when i gave up (the shading) and it sticks out like a sore fucking thumb to me and it pisses me off because i knew i could have done so much better if i wasnt being stricken down by gods hand and his every attempt to get me to rest. idk like im generally proud ot it, with this one i wanted to go out with a bang tm so i tried to draw every important and relevant character instead of ALL of them like I was originally planning LMAO but ah well. maybe one day when im faster at drawing. this one i defiantly wanna go back and touch up but i everytime i open the file i can see 40 more things wrong with it and it drives me nuts. so ill just have to wait for when im ready. i guess.

can i just say though. the improvement is crazy. it always catches me off guard because tbh i uh. dont like my own art. im getting better at not fucking hating it because i can pinpoint everything wrong with it but whenever i see the side by sides it always surprises me. i always dont think im improving but then i see it and its like wow i really am getting better! i still suck at 3000 things but im getting better! and its overall just a nice thing to see after having drawn them for as long as i have... the power of the worms is strong and has ruined my brain...... speaking of i know ive said a few times that i fucking hate certain pieces, not just LCU related ones but almost anything i post, but if you love them and are able to look at them with a twinkle in your eye then thank you. genuinely. i honestly love looking over the tags of people exploding and saying nice things. it warms my cold little heart and im glad there are people out there that genuinely love some of the things what i do! even if its just fanart and its just their blorbo. thank you for sticking around even tho all i do is draw my otp super blorbos :'^) this game means the world to me and im glad like more than 2 people wanna spread it around.

to wrap back around to the anniversary stuff and speaking of big love to the people out there THE FREAKING EPIC ZINE i was just a small thing but it came out amazing even for how small it was thank you to the contributors and thank you to everyone whos downloaded it!! its still getting the occasional and i love getting the notif in my email about it. i love that there are still people out there who wanna see it and all the hard work everyone put into it to celebrate the games 10th just thank you again i really does mean alot to me ALSO IF YOU HAVENT CHECKED IT OUT PLEASE DO IT IS 100% WORK YOUR TIME AND ITS DIGITAL WITH PRINT AT HOME STICKERS AND YOU CAN KEEP IT AND LOOK AT IT FOREVER

uh to end this off....would I like to do this again..... I mean I kinda am? by that i mean ill do the big numbers (15, 20, 25, 30, 40, etc) till the day i freaking die!!!! but yeah no countdown stuff ever again!!!!! sorry :^( it was super fun to do though!!!! and im glad i did it that piece is the conclusion to the whole thing but that doesnt mean ill stop drawing them. duh. theyre my characters now! but heres to many more anniversaries and to hopefully another game! or to just see them again in any other lego media! or even better... a mischaracterized cameo in ninjago!

OK I need to try to get out this out real quick because it's been circling my head since last night (this morning 4am lmao) but I am thinking about the potential for conflict in Halstarion, when taking their differing relationships/views of authority into account.

TL;DR!!!!! I am only midway through Act 2!!!!!!!!!!

Like, on the one hand we have Astarion, who really wants power over others. He seeks out powerful people to seduce and manipulate for his own self-preservation, yes, but he wants to be the one wielding power so fucking bad- that conversation at the beginning of Act 2, where he tries to convince the PC that taking over the Absolute cult and using their tadpoles to control a literal army of cultists is the best plan of action. IIRC he's the only companion with basically no reservations about embracing tadpole powers and WANTS you to share spare tadpoles with him.

Meanwhile you have Halsin who is in a very powerful- and respected!- position where he has tons of influence over a great many people- and he neither asked for it, sought it out, nor is he particularly happy about all of the responsibility. I don't have screencaps of it like I thought, I HAVE SCREENCAPS AFTER ALL: he has all that dialogue about how he hates having to deal with other people's problems, and most importantly, Halsin tells the PC not to trust people who seek out positions of authority:

if his mentor hadn't died suddenly at a moment where there was no choice but to step up as a leader, I feel like he'd probably have shied away from taking on such a mantle.

So like... where does that put Astarion in his eyes, when it becomes apparent Astarion is desperately power-hungry in a way that goes far beyond protecting himself. This is a man who has suffered 200 years of horrific indignities, and has come out of it wanting to be powerful enough everyone else will be crushed under HIS heel- that he'll never be below someone again. I'm not sure it's very clear in the game if these opinions of his are ever apparent to anyone beyond the PC, but just thinking of Halsin realizing Astarion's intentions with his tadpole powers... the cult-leader aspirations, the ascension aspirations. How wary would Halsin be, how much would he actively try to reach out and steer Astarion away from the paths he's clawing his way down. Does he see him as an immature man who was far too young (for an elf) before his life was ripped away, and hasn't been shown any real alternatives, after centuries of living at the bottom rung of a violently-enforced hierarchy. How frustrated would he be by Astarion's incredibly unpleasant self-defense mechanisms and how he lashes out in the ugliest, cruelest ways possible. Would Astarion bristle like a rabid cat if Halsin tried to talk him into considering other ways of survival, push away what he sees as patronizing meddling from someone who thinks he's soooooo much better than everyone else because of his age and his esteemed goody-two-shoes reputation. How much friction would this generate in their relationship!!!!

Add in Astarion ever learning about Halsin's own history of being held captive and used for sex by horrific abusers, and the fact Halsin seems so much more stable and put together and /happy/ with life, and all of Astarion's ugly bitterness and resentment being projected out at Halsin for THAT... Like would he think Halsin's concern is mockery, assuming insults and judgment for how pathetic and messed-up he is in every word.

where am I going with this, I don't know, I actually started writing this post 4 hours ago and now I'm home and finishing it. I think they should have some very unpleasant arguments and frustrate and trigger the hell out of each other and then kiss about it.

ok took the tots to sulani and took 0 pics of them however mazarine did get to chat up a milf for awhile but she never called me back </3 And she is a milf because she has three children i remember giving her makeover for my save file

GOT A KITTEN!!! did you know toddlers can pick up kittens because i did NOT and oh my god. its really cute

bess sterling would not leave mazarine the fuck alone so i invited her over to start a fight but all max wanted to do was play with her and it was kindof sweet so instead mazarine asked her on a date LMAO

umm twins aged up just in time to watch a horror movie for halloween and ignacio wouldnt put down his favorite toy (corn with googly eyes) and then max got so scared she cried. but she still said horror is her favorite genre of movie. they actually had a whole birthday party in the park and it was fun and cute but i didnt take any pictures because oh my god parties are a nightmare to handle

went out to eat to celebrate mazarine reaching the top level in the scientist career yipppeeee except it took one million years for them to figure out how booths work and then bess didnt get her meal and they went home at 4am awesome game pack no notes. also the lighting inside was so ugly so sorry

went to mt komorebi where max met nanami and they built a snowman together yaaaay already plannign ahead her and max might date but who knows i think gen 2 is super noncommittal LOL oh also while they were there ignacio went snowboarding and fell off and knocked out his first tooth so congrats ignacio

and finally :-) ignacio was feeling embarrassed about his school prank to release hundreds of gerbils in the hallways going wrong. SAD.. ok thats it thankyou for coming on this journey with me

hi sky i just wanna ask what ps version you use and other softwares / apps to make gifs. i am planning on starting giffing here and you are always so fast on making them and they're all so gorgeous. also do you have any tips for begginer gif maker? thank you!

omg, new gifmaker is born aaaaa!!! I'm using photoshop cs6 right now. the latest version of photoshop is very slow and especially when i use topaz );

my first tip is: dont do anything like i did in the beginning lmao my first mistake is thinking that I would learn to make gifs by myself. and you can see my first gifs here on my blog and its every thing so ugly and horrible lmao. first thing is to try to look for many tutorials and see which way you want to make gifs. I make gifs using screencaps but you can do it another way. check out this tag on my blog you will make some tutorials. look for tutorials on how to make gifs and how to make colourings. and in the beginning I recommend you to keep doing basic colouring and when you have time play around in photoshop. and also I dont recommend using psd if you dont know how to use photoshop. to use a psd you have to know what to add and delete from there to make your gif look nice. and of course most important, always try to download high quality 1080p/1080i videos. a high quality video will always make your gif look 1191810 more pretty. like me, i havent bought a bluray player yet but i bought the digital code version of mem21. but i'm making gifs from bluray files and no longer from my digital code because i love perfect bluray quality😭 my english is not good for me to help you more but i hope that with these basic things i can help you a little too. 🥺

BTS During April Fools

So I know this post is late, I'm still doing it! But they are SO funny and cute during this day. I wanted to share, for those who might not have seen them all, all the cute pranks they've pulled on ARMY over the years. 💜

2014

They changed their profile picture MULTIPLE TIMES from multiple members lol

Jin went first changing it to his dog, with the accompanying tweet here and here. Then Hobi took over, posting his own photo and the tweets to go with it here and here. To which Jimin replied with his own tweet and a ninja turtle attack selca asking why jhope hyung was taking over Twitter. Lmao Jin changed the photo to himself, then a photo of Yoongi as a drawing. Then Tae took over, changed the photo to one of himself as well as tweeted a baby photo of himself where he shared he was secretly actually a prince in hiding. As well another tweet about being the leader now. Jimin then took over, changed the photo to himself and tweeted another selca saying Tae is dominating the twitter.

2015

They changed their Fancafe layout to BTS as girls as well as changed their Twitter layout again a ton lol

BigHit Entertainment official Twitter even joined in, with pretending everyone was secret agents, changed their layout and posted photos

Some of the Twitter layout changes included Baby Jimin, as well as Jimin Mon doll takeover, and Tae Designer, along with a challenge from Tae Designer part 2, of which Jimin responded to, asking Tae to please teach him his ways. Lol. Then there was the general prank tweets too. RM tweeted that he accidentally cut off his tongue and can no longer rap due to spicy food. Jin tweeted that he was a webtoon writer who shared a name with BTS Jin. Hobi tweeted a selca, saying "I'm Ugly... April Fools." Lol

2016

We have ONCE AGAIN gone through MULTIPLE profile switch ups on Twitter from many members. Lmao including Sope, Jin, Laserman, TibetMon, Jhorse and Busan Boys.

We had Sope make their official Twitter debut. Lmao with an announcement tweet. And follow up tweet of them lip syncing to HOMME. Which was then followed up by Jikook switching it up and making it the Busan boys Twitter instead. Where they posted these selcas together. Followed up by teasing Sope by posting their own singing video together to HOMME. (Okay vocals 😭). Jin and RM switched it to the Alpaca and Tibetan respectively, only to then also spam the timeline with each animal in various ways. Like so many tweets. Lol Ill just link one of each 🤣 Jins here and Joons here. Tae is the one who took over to change it to JHorse, and he also posted along with it a video of horses saying "with Master V." Hobi then also posted a Screencap of Tae texting him about it, saying that "on Twitter, I tried using aeygo on you hyung." Lol cute.

2017

They changed their twitter profiles twice this year. First was JinMin who changed their bio to "No its not. Yes, it's right" and pictures of them matching. And then Tae changed it later to photos of himself and their bio to "music is my life" too. Lol

The tweets that go with it too. Lmao Jin tweeting out the photos of JinMin matching. Jimin the day before had tweeted out other photos of them in the same matching outfits after their concert, so I'm including those selcas too because they are so cute. Tae tweeted out the photos he used for his layout as well, with the caption "I'm tipsy." Lol

2018

Again, the insane changing of the profile pictures war took place. Lmao Lee Hyun, PDogg and Bang PD did not escape this year either 🤣

The tweets accompanying this madness are here too. Lmao Lee Hyun being tweeted here and here. Pdogg getting his own tweet too here. Bang PD got his first tweet here. And then they started using his photos to play rock paper scissors lmfao. Which are scissors here and paper here. Someone's apology tweet to Bang PD and blaming the whole thing on Jin. Lmao This was then followed up by regular prank tweets too. From Suga, who tweeted a photo of a Sugarcane field and said "I miss my hometown." Lol and the absolute most iconic prank from Jimin, who tweeted out a link to a news article about how NamJin have been confirmed dating for a year now. His tweet said "BTS Jin ❤ BTS RM they have been in a relationship for one year already. # JIMIN # Hyungs_ILoveYouGuys" lmaooooo if you followed the link it took you to a fake website for April fools. Lmao the link doesn't work anymore though, sorry. 😂 Jin replied to it too. Lmao "because I'm so mad at Jimin. I'll do a acrostic poem about Bang Sihyuk" lol and his Poem was posted.

2019

Jin took over and changed the profiles to himself and a lobster. Sope later took over themselves again too

Their accompanying tweets, from Jin, greeting hello with a pun on prawn. And from Sope, Korea's Number 1 Singers, Sope. And you cant forget the iconic Sope Vlive where they announced their breakup/disbandment as a prank on ARMY lol and Joon congratulating them on their breakup 😭🤣

2021

Hobi pranked us on Weverse saying he died his hair, but was caught fairly quickly by ARMY finding the original old photos/videos he had cropped lol

2022

Hobi pranked us again on Weverse this year. Saying he was leaving for the airport when he wasn't going until the next day. Lol Jimin changed the Twitter layout to make it his own twt and Tae changed it after him to make it his. Jin, Jimin and RM changed their Instagram bios/profiles as well too. Lol

320 bits I wanna talk about

Iieda looks like he’s doing the *inhale* before the BOI IF YOU DON’T- meme. Something along the lines of “BOI IF YOU DON’T GET YOUR ASS BACK TO UA-” kind of thing lol.

He holding something in definitely. Maybe charging up for an attack? Idk but he sure seems concentrated

Actually, Iieda seems kinda considering. Maybe he’s weighing up if he should join in the fight, as if he’s asking “Will I have to fight Midoriya, if it comes down to it? Or can the others handle this?” Something tells me he doesn’t want to have to weigh in on the fight. Maybe tear into Izuku verbally, but fight? No I don’t think he wants to do that

But also, I find it interesting that that black panel of text is under him and then it cuts to Bakugou yelling at Izuku. I mean, it could very well be Bakugou thinking that, but if that’s so, then why is Iieda the first person we see?

So, I think it’s Iieda thinking that. Tensions are rising, it seems. I’m expecting his turn to be full of a lot of emotion, or at least trying to get across to Izuku that he feels betrayed but mostly just wants Izuku to come back home.

I don’t really know what’ll happen with Iieda exactly, but I’m totally interested to see what happens

I know Bakugou has problems with his emotions and words and stuff, but I also think here he’s trying to anger Izuku in order to get him to fight back, maybe so he’s more angry than flexible in a fight, so the end result would be Izuku getting too angry to predict anything and eventually tripping up, and that’s when 1A could capture him.

The one thing to remember about Izuku is that allowing him to think is going to be the opponent’s downfall. We saw in the Kacchan VS Deku 2 fight that Bakugou knew this and so kept attacking as much as possible so Izuku wouldn’t have time to think. Which worked, because Izuku is great at analysis, so making his “Win” attitude [getting competitive therefore putting more energy into attacking than strategy] come out over his “Save” attitude [you’re my friend and I want to help you] is kind of a weakness of his. That’s kind of one of the reasons he lost that fight.

Then again, maybe Izuku has improved since then? I don’t really know but I think enough time has passed for him to have maybe improved more on that so idk we’ll see

I know it’s like the only moment Izuku and Ojiro shared, with the sports festival thing, but it’s still really sweet that Ojiro sees that Izuku stood up for him

This is kind of a chilling and pretty scene though. The rain falling above Izuku and him looking down with these piercing green eyes likely being the only light between them. Good stuff.

Satou! Aha I like how he’s pulling all the stops, such as “I WON’T LET YOU BORROW MY INGREDIENTS FOR ERI!”

Also let’s appreciate that Satou caught Ojiro and Jirou and managed to land on a freaking traffic light. The balance on this kid! Very well done

Does Shouji have some kind of support-item?? Or could he always do the stretchy thing?? Or I guess maybe he’s just stretching his arms out like branches [like he usually does] and using them as more like a capture weapon rather than his usual stuff. I don’t think we’ve ever seen him use his heteromorph body and quirk for anything other than the 5 senses, though I could be wrong

Also Shouji remembering what Izuku said at the training camp, I’m so glad! Shouji always seems like the kind to be so protective over his friends, so I’m glad he remembered that. Then again, Izuku did compare them to freaking ALL MIGHT, but if the nice analytical kid in your class who knows your limits and strengths says you could basically beat A GOD, then that’s definitely one for the memory scrapbook lmao

“It’s nice and dark here, Dark Shadow.” Who said that?? Kami or Izuku?? I just have this mental image of Izuku being shrouded in darkness and trying to keep his eyes open from falling asleep haha

Tokoyami remembering that from all the way back then!! It makes me think that not only have Bakugou and Izuku been watching each other, but that Izuku has always had everybody’s eyes on him! Which is true, he’s inspired everyone! It goes both ways; Izuku loving his friends, and them loving him back :’)

This kind of segment, with a mask falling, a space in-between and a reveal, reminds me of Compress’ reveal :) In that, the person is hiding their identity and then when the mask comes off, they reveal who they truly are underneath

While Izuku is of course determined to go after AFO and is quite the fearsome powerhouse, I really think when he takes off that mask, he’s showing who he really is underneath - a scared little boy who just wants everyone to be happy

JESUS, SHOUTO REALLY IMPROVED HIS QUIRK HUH!! LOOK AT IT, IT’S EVEN HIGHER THAN THE SKYSCRAPERS!!

“The burden placed on you... it doesn’t allow for tears, right?” He sounds so sassy here.

Kind of like saying “Oh you look upset. But that’s weird, I thought Heroes weren’t supposed to cry.” Lol it really shows here how pissed Shouto is at Izuku

But then he relents from that snark and is like “Hey, come on, we’ll share this burden. I’m not letting you go it alone, remember that we’re all here.” :’)

I love when Shouto is sassy and passive aggressive but I also love it when he shows that soft side of him

Okay, this is something I really love.

Tsuyu didn’t join the Bakugou Rescue Squad because “they would be just like Villains breaking the rules”

But here she is, learning from that regret of hers and coming right back to make sure Izuku isn’t the one struggling. She wants to be a part of this rescue squad and pick up where she left off :)

Tsuyu has always struggled with her regrets. It was shown after Kamino when she cried, but for me, I only realised this fully during the Joint Arc when she had her regrets about not making better decisions and not being quick enough [I think that was it].

“I won’t cry in such a flurry” reminds me of “I want to live a life without regret” and so that’s what she’s saying here. This won’t be another regret of hers. She wants to do her best to save her friend

“When scared, you’re allowed to tremble when it’s tough, you’re allowed to shed tears. That’s how you become a Hero like in the comics.”

I feel like that quote piggybacks off of Shouto’s “Heroes cry too”, in that, this is now 1A comforting Izuku. This is them fully coming up to him and telling him that they can help, and that he’s allowed to feel sad about his situation. Shouto’s quote was the teaser, while this entire chapter [and the rest that come to follow] is the main course.

And this is exactly who Tsuyu is. Reassuring, comforting, someone dependable. It says a lot that she’s come from not going to help in Kamino, confessing her feelings and crying about it, then coming back in a similar situation and offering her help - that she’s not willing to just let an opportunity go to better herself. I think I remember reading a few posts on her crying after Kamino and saying it was “performative” or that she just “wanted attention” or smthg like that, but I think she’s really just quite an honest person, and here she is making a great show of how she won’t let something like her guilt slow her down from being the hero she wants to be.

[A part of me feels like this is also a little more evidence with the whole People Not Caring About Bakugou’s Feelings Of Helplessness but like. I digress. It kinda counts but at the same time, it’s not what is going on at the moment.]

Seeing everyone try to reassure Izuku was lovely, and I can’t wait for the rest. I’ve seen a lot of people waiting more for Bakugou’s portion of the battle [AND YEAH DUDE ME TOO] but I really feel like Bakugou’s won’t come until like 2 chapters later or something.

Cause, if this chapter is anything to go by, we’ll probably get through Mina, Mineta, Kirishima, Hagakure and Aoyama next chapter, and then we’ll move onto the “more important” conflicts which will be Iieda and Uraraka, and if their segments are chocked with tension drama and tears, then Bakugou will have a whole chapter to himself hopefully.

Which means we’ll probably have to wait 2 more chapters until we get that sweet, sweet Bakugou chapter :( I hope I’m wrong and it comes sooner than predicted but whatever

I know for some people, that’s all they want, but personally I love these little bits that reflect on the background characters. As someone who isn’t really obsessed with the background characters but also likes them enough to appreciate their development/the little moments they have, I gotta say I really liked this :)

How do you write long multi-chapter fics without losing steam or motivation?

Hey guys!

Been a while since I made a post answering all the FAQ’s in my inbox, and this is the one I get the most, so here goes my answer/advice:

▽ structure and continuity

(and i still struggle with this lmao its an uphill climb)

1) outline or map out your story path. if it drags and you find yourself getting BORED with your writing or where the story is going, its time to stop, step back, and evaluate.

completely write out the storyline in short-hand nonsense as fast as possible, because its for you only, so go back to fill in the details later. if you want to see what MY outlines look like...... -embarassmentttttt-

if you’ve read that story, you can probably recognize this scene was an entire chapter, but it was 5 nonsense sentences in my outline.

2) if you can sit down for X hours and write out the outline from start to end (yes, end of the story) then you have a solid skeleton to polish up :D

3) don’t worry about chapter splitting just yet. get it all out first

▽ Marathon time

1) set aside time for yourself to write it out. Find time for it at least once a week or once a day if you can manage that! DON’T leave it sitting for 2+ weeks--unless that’s your creative process--and if it is, and you recognize you get stuck here, leaving the fic alone for more than 2 weeks = abandoning the fic?? then proceed to this step→

go back to it and read it over and over, right up until the point where you stopped, ask yourself questions about where the characters are going (refer to your outline)/ why the characters are doing X scene ...etc (is there tension? is this part boring? why have you stopped writing? tired? take a nap:)

2) know when to ignore (writing) advice. and i wish someone had told me this when i first started marathon fic-writing. advice is great but its not a cure-all and maybe you’re exhausted from trying everyone’s suggestions. literally you do you, but keep an open mind to learn along the way.

3) if you run into a problem, like wanting to change an ENTIRE scene that will affect the ending of your story, stop writing and go back to your outline. you’re wasting your own time this way. write to get to an ending.

4) know that there are formulas to long, captivating stories. its like a curve that goes up and down. (find a formula that works for you!) for me, it’s: scene start tension scene escalating tension resolve tension but then another conflict + 2 conflict + 1 romance = long 3 chapter scene :D scene resolving 1 conflict, romance + 3 yay! scene adding to conflicts and romance above tension resolution? another tension or romance resolve? which slowly helps taper to an end (which i still struggle with)

5) have fun! you’re exploring this character, this universe, don’t get too stuck up your own ass about stuff and let things go. if you finished a scene and re-read it, hate it, don’t give yourself crap about it. if you’re happy with it one day and unhappy with it another day, figure out why or just let it go. Your goal is to write as much as possible to finish your story to the outline you wrote. if you get hung up on the stuff in the middle, you’ll never reach the finish line.

▽ I’ve finished my multi-chapter my pile of crap. Now what?

1) don’t look at it, don’t even think about it. congratulate yourself and go to the beach :D get yourself a coffee and socially-distance-hang-out with your friends

2) 1 - 3 weeks later, re-read it ALL with fresh eyes. don’t tell your friends about it, don’t link it anywhere for feedback. it’s still ALL YOU right now.

3) re-read it round 1: edit it grammatically and for bulk. if you still hate that random interaction you added in, delete it entirely and set it aside. fix all grammar issues and add to more descriptions if some are lacking.

4) re-read it round 2: a week later with your own fresh eyes, make sure everything flows. did you say character X had a green shirt in ch 3 but in ch 4 they were wearing a blue shirt? fix that :O might be a genuine mistake, either you forgot or got up to leave your fic for 4 days and (forgot)

5) re-read again round 3: a week after that, read it again and find it for more errors, add more flow if some scenes have a choppy transition, and start to split it into chapters. Find natural breaks in your writing (or cliff hangers!) and cut them there. 6) recruit a friend! Ask someone you’re ok with baring your soul to and make them read your slightly less steaming pile of crap, which is now a polished turd. hopefully your friend will tell you it IS a polished turd and is OK for posting, or that you still mentioned green shirt character is wearing a blue shirt (again) in ch 56 and you missed it :P

7) post and run, or save it to re-read again 6 months later

i’ve been doing the post and run thing for a while if im medium-proud of my shiny turd, or if im really insecure about it, i’ll sit on it for even a YEAR before i even breathe about it. its not that i hate it, its that i feel it could be better and if i’m continuously writing during that time, I can go back to look at it with fresh(er) eyes.

▽ things to think about / stuff to ask yourself while writing:

- why am i tired (of this, of it?) know yourself and know your limits. if you’re tired (physically, of writing) learn to differentiate that from being mentally tired.

- who are you writing for? a friend’s bday gift fic? submission into Fanfic Award-Winning Novel Writers Club? A novel manuscript to Random House? Nanowrimo? your fandom rare-pair discord server? ....yourself?? and then figure out your motivations for the tone of your writing :D

- i suck at writing X (a violent action scene, smut, small-talk in elevator scene), so i’ll just skip it... no. if you think your story needs it, make your best attempt at writing it and then go back to edit it. you’ll be happy you pushed yourself to write it.

- i’ve never done X (been to a hotspring in Japan, gone hiking in extreme weather, gone on a blind date) how would i know what it feels like? Try your best to envision it or use the wonders of the internet to learn about it. Research is your best friend to express realism in your writing :D

aaaaaaaaaaaand that’s all i got for now :O
