Merch Tier Revived!

As of this month, I've officially revived the Vexteria tier on Patreon and Ream as a Merch tier :D

I've been thinking about it for like a year and I've finally figured out a way to do it without breaking my brain (or the bank) and handling overseas postage.

While there are other bonuses in this tier, I've finally figured out how to get around overwhelming postage costs with twice-yearly drops of merch to those who subscribe for 4 consecutive months in the Evan & Vexteria tier within that period.

This is what shipped out to followers in the second half of 2023!

x 2 notebooks (lined) + postcards (with recycled paper envelopes) + vinyl stickers + a signed personalised individual letter. In this first instance, I am also the artist of this merch.

Here's me preparing everything :D

Each merch shipment will be different items and different themes - sometimes fanart, sometimes quotes, or focuses on different stories. The items can individually change too. It might be journals, more varied stickers, other forms of stationary, enamel pins, and more.

What do you get in this tier?

In this tier you get access to everything. All the early access, the merch, you get credits in all future books (which, with publishing hopefully kicking off in 2024 means seeing your name in print a fair bit!), and see any other extras I choose to share.

Why 4 consecutive months to be eligible for that 6 month drop?

To cover overseas shipping costs, which start at $20, and to also cover the raw cost of the merchandise, and also still be able to make an income off Patreon or Ream in this tier.

I like the look of an older merch bundle, can I get that instead?

Only if there's stock left over for that! And you can't get both at the same time, so if I can make a bundle based off past merchandise for you, it will be in lieu of the current bundle.

How is it shipped? How long does it take?

It's all shipped super safely. Before I worked as a writer, I worked as an artist selling fragile traditional art pieces. I've shipped over 500 worldwide. Your merch comes in a water resistant plastic sleeve that is sealed and very durable, and that goes into a thick envelope that has bubble wrap incorporated into it to make sure everything arrives safe and sound, even in inclement weather.

Because I'm shipping from Australia, items can take 2-6 weeks to arrive.

Could you ever send merch more often?

Not at the current price/s of this tier! Many overseas / non-US writers don't actually offer merch drops like this at all, and offer digital items, or only do Print-on-Demand which means nothing can be as personalised as writing you a letter of gratitude and celebration of your awesomeness.

Doing it this way means I can put a personal touch in there, and bundle everything, and know that everything's shipping safely with materials I really trust. :) It also means I can inspect every single item personally to make sure it's up to my standards before it goes to you!

Sea Princesses Refresh now complete!

After two months of work, the second and third stages of the Sea Princesses Refresh, namely the v2 versions of the book transcripts and translations along with the v3 versions of the cartoon reviews and v2 versions of the book reviews (though admittedly, not many changes were made for the latter) are now complete.

The v2 book transcripts and translations have superseded the previous v1 versions on Google Docs. In addition, clean versions of the transcripts and translations (without the page numbers and/or footnotes) are available in PDF and ebook formats as well. The PDFs and ebooks for the literacy series books are compiled due to their lengths, while PDF and ebook versions of the short stories (albeit without images) are also available.

While working on the v2 transcripts, I also took a look at the Kindle releases to see what was different between them and the physical books. There are some grammatical changes here and there, plus the ending of the intro to the fourth book is slightly different (which I’ll include at the end of this post). For the most part, the transcripts are based on the raw scans, but I have put in footnotes for the chapters with different titles or split contents in the Kindle releases.

The previous version of the cartoon reviews contained some information and statistics on the English voice actors and character appearances. Those have been separated for the v3 version. When the cartoon reviews were first published on Tumblr in 2019, some information was edited or omitted to make it easier to understand for non-Australians living in current year, but with the v3 reviews, nothing has been omitted for Tumblr. The book reviews have also been published in PDF format along with a list of character appearances in each book.

In case anyone missed it, the English, Brazilian Portuguese and Castilian Spanish versions of the cartoon series episodes are also available as well. The Brazilian Portuguese episodes were made available last December along with a refreshed cut of the English episodes taken directly from the Amazon raws instead of the videos from the Mr Bean and Friends channel.

Hello! I first discovered your art through the Sam piece you did for Dreaming in Digital (it's honest to god one of my all-time favorite pieces of fanart). I absolute adore your artwork & would love to purchase more (I have your TFR sticker) but I don't buy Cas or Dean pieces unless they're part of a TFW set & I have no interest in d/c artwork rn, even if they're absolutely gorgeous. I was just wondering if you have plans to add any of your other non-commission Sam pieces to your shop?

I have one portrait of Sam planned as part of a TFW 2.0 series, but nothing more than that, and before you get too excited, it’s been sitting in my drafts for a year or more.

I don’t draw Sam a lot and I never really have. I don’t see that changing in the future, but you never know. That being said, that commission from @ltleflrt is probably my favorite Sam portraits that I’ve done, so thank you for bringing him to life, Carrie!

In case you missed them, I also have this one and this one, as well as a few other very old colored pencil portraits from a lifetime ago, but there aren’t prints of these available anywhere.

So the short answer is if there’s a piece you really want added to Redbubble, feel free to message me and I’m sure I can throw him up there. That goes for any other art too. If there are pieces people want, I’m usually happy to add them.
