I know you are tired of being reminded of the whole mess that’s been going on. I had no idea what was going on until foxyanon told me cause I asked. The shock that went through me when I was reading ems post. I was decent friends with bel and interacted a lot with her. Had no idea how vile those bloggers are, just damn right disgusting and rude. But I told em as well that I have nothing to do with what’s her face. I’m always here for you! This fandom needs some serious work done and rethinking. I’m screaming the biggest f you to her! I love your content even though I don’t say anything much. You’re wonderful and deserve better! 💗💗

Thank you for reaching out, and treating me like a human being. It is more than I currently deserve. I will place the rest of my response beneath a cut, as it will be quite long and I'd like to give people the option to scroll past, as they are doubtless tired of all of this, and rightly so.

Yes, the behaviour of that group is despicable, but I cannot downplay the gravity of my own in that.

I had a longstanding block with two users (I am not going to use their online nicknames, I do not deserve to), arcielee and sylasthegrim, I said disgusting things about both of them - the screenshots of my messages regarding them both on the post you have doubtless all seen are real (so is the final screenshot where I mention an anon I had received telling me to die in my sleep, the rest of the screenshots in that post have been falsified, doctored or snipped heavily out of context to make them appear hateful - the doctoring has been confirmed by two individuals well versed in Photoshop)

I hold my hands up and apologise to both those people, and the people that have seen those messages and been harmed by them. They are inexcusable, indefensible and were guided by a false belief that those two people were being hateful in turn about me, and actively going out of their way to harm and spite me. I am unsure what Bel thought she had to gain by exacerbating the animosity between me and Em and those two women, regardless, we should have done the mature thing and reached out directly to them. I will say, that I have never once sent anonymous hatred to either person. The extent of my vitriol was confined to that group chat.

Bel also used slurs in the group chat (I would like to point out that myself, Em and Fae did not). I won't repeat what these were. I do not want those ugly words on my page. They made me uncomfortable and I called her out any time she used one in particular, but she always laughed off my discomfort and carried on anyway. She is mixed race, I am white, in my mind it is not my place as a white person to tell an ethnic minority what is racism and what isn't. There are enough white voices shouting down others in online spaces. I know better now. I should not let my own discomfort silence me. I will call out hatred, bigotry and discrimination in every instance that I see it. My past inaction is embarrassing, it's offensive and I am devastated by the hurt I have caused to others. I am so deeply sorry.

I didn't speak up for a long time, because I have seen what these people are like when they have a grudge against someone. It's frightening, I was a coward. Yet despite staying silent on all of it, I have been doxxed just the same. I suppose perhaps that's karmic retribution?

I appreciate that people have felt my response has been lacking, however, I was out of the country, away from home, from the 14th until the 22nd, with only my phone at my disposal and with the expectation from my husband that I would enjoy the vacation we were on, and not be online dealing with all of this.

I would like the opportunity to atone for my behaviour, to make amends. Currently, I feel I am not going to be given the opportunity to do that, and understandably so. Emotions are high, people are raw from what they have learned and they do not feel comfortable being around me.

Seeing the screenshots of the people in their group passing around my personal photos and saying incredibly vile things about my appearance triggered a lapse with the eating disorder that I am in active recovery for. I then had another a few days later. I need to take some time away to get myself well, as the fear and anxiety of all of this is taking its toll. I also need the space to deal with the legal action I will be exploring with regards to Chris having doxxed me. I am not running away. I simply need to get myself into a space where I am stable enough to handle all of this, be accountable, and take responsibility without my own emotions diminishing other people's.

I know people hate me right now, but it pales in comparison to how much I hate myself. I am so very sorry for allowing this to happen.

Not to be BG3 critical on main again and this may have been said before but man. cannot be more clear about my disappointment with how the entire Emerald Grove situation is handled particularly in relation to the goblins. I hate hate HATE how parts of the fandom and honestly even the game presents siding with the Tieflings as undeniably good & just (Which is true for the record! the Tieflings must live and be in peace) and siding with the goblins as undeniably evil & genocidal because like...... it doesn't take critical thinking to figure out that there are plenty of people in this world who are as genocidal against goblins as Kagha is against the Tieflings LOL . the way they're treated and referred to as creatures, vermin, pests, etc. is presented with such disdain and malice that you'd think even Larian themselves just??? really hate these fantasy goblins and want them to die I guess???? Not to mention the game gives the player so many opportunities to share in this boiling and obscene hatred for them like. Even if they side w the goblins theyre given opportunities later to kill some of them BRUTALLY in like four different ways with only ONE option to spare them at Moonrise. And this is after Ketheric slaughters one right before ur eyes like 😭😭

I get that the goblins at the camp are terrible and under the influence of a Cult and want to spill the blood of tieflings and druids alike largely because of that and raiding the grove is a despicable thing to do but cmon man..... I just need Larian to never touch upon fantasy racism Ever Again bc they really do not know what they're doing fhgjbfkg I'm still in Act 2 so maybe there are instances of goblins being treated with some compassion and respect but as of right now this whole thing stinks and is written with such WEAKNESS

For starters, thank you so much for all you’ve said honestly, I am glad to see your opinion pop up on my feed you are a godsend. But following that, some people really need to step back and look at some stuff. There’s a lot of could’ve, would’ve, and should’ves when it comes to Birdie and Ollie, yes, but they are and have been struggling. It’s obvious they’re shocked and freaked out, learning that their daughter(who they’ve been trying to protect and love dearly) was used in a way they never wanted AND she’s 112, AND her friends are all ganging up on them. Like, this is horrifying news for any parent, and something you would never want to hear. They’re not condescending, they’re not villains, they’re learning about everything at the same time everyone else is. And nobody can look at that for some reason? To the point of choosing a lying, obviously malevolent assassin?? What??? And on top of that, the Hellions reactions and actions I think are based on them projecting stuff onto Birdie and Ollie rather than thinking everything through. We don’t know the full story and we honestly might never because every time we get somewhere it’s denied and stopped. Birdie and Ollie aren’t the best parents in the world, there were still things they’ve done even while attempting to help their daughter that when sour, and sure, they don’t deserve medals but they do deserve the chance to give an explanation. And they certainly don’t deserve being a whole bunch of young adults’ outlets for their parental trauma(as someone who has a lot of parental trauma I’m not trying to downplay it in the slightest, it is very damaging and painful). Unless it turns out they’re despicable and are somehow going to pull a Yu and they’ve been lying and scheming this whole time, there’s no reason for them to be treated the way they are by the Hellions or the fandom. It’s idk how to describe it, off? especially when, instead of constantly interrogating them, we should be letting them sit down with their daughter and speak, talk, cry together, work together, I feel like in some ways Fearne(THEIR CHILD)’s feelings are being pushed aside somehow in favor of antagonizing them. Anyways that was a horribly long and messy tangent that probably derailed so thank you so much for your time, I just really needed to speak about it cause it was infuriating.

everything you said!!! birdie and ollie are not perfect parents by any stretch of the imagination and could have and should had done more (although after the revelation of their memory modifications,,, even that seems out of their reach), and they do not deserve the hatred and vitriol that has been directed at them for three consecutive episodes by bell's hells and the fandom.

But sure, villainize the gnc bisexual because Lizard boy is soooo sympathetic, I mean he almost let Magnus die and wouldn't help until his boyfriend begged on the verge of tears, and he never indicated that Magnus did something wrong besides exist. look man I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a racial issue 🤷 Lorenzo's a sp*niard, he was born during the siglo de oro, all his wealth comes from colonization. his whole life was made on the backs of native latin american ppls, and as soon as he was old enough to be painted (lmao) he was taught that he was special, that he had the divine right to exploit poc, that he was superior than them simply for being a sp*niard, that he deserved their labor, and resources, and the gold that came from their lands

(DISCLAIMER: i am well aware that Javier Muñoz, Lorenzo's actor, is latino. but Lorenzo is a sp*niard, as he told Alec himself when he was at his house, Just like he told him that he was born during the siglo de oro - literally "the century of gold", aka the height of latin american colonization. so Lorenzo, the character, is a white colonizer, whose wealth derives DIRECTLY from the exploitation of poc, and that's a canon fact that the writers made a point to show us)

yet he says that Magnus was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, when he clearly was filthy rich without having had to work a day in his life. because Magnus is better than him. Magnus achieved what he never could, he was not just a powerful warlock, not even just the High Warlock of Brooklyn, he was a leader. he got everything that Lorenzo was taught was his right, his heritage, and he's a part of the very people's Lorenzo was always taught he did a favor to use and exploit - sure, he's not latino, but SE Asian isn't much better in his eyes, and Magnus was literally born on the other side of colonization. he was the one being exploited, and used, and looked down on, and he got everywhere Lorenzo didn't.

his mind can barely compute it. he can only think of one explanation - it's because he's the son of a Prince of Hell. he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. his life was so easy. it's unfair. he doesn't deserve it. everything he has, his title, his house, his knowledge, his prestige - it should be Lorenzo's.

it's very telling that he said he wanted to reduce Magnus to nothing. he already had a mansion, but he demanded Magnus' loft in exchange for his magic - after forcing him to come to Lorenzo by abusing his power to make sure Magnus couldnt get help. he wanted to take away all that he had, because he was always taught that it should belong to him. he had no qualms about letting Magnus literally die, of making sure Magnus would die since he was the only one who could give him medical assistance, because he was taught his life shouldn't matter. hes willing to go so far over petty, ridiculous jealousy because his white, colonizer upbringing made him believe that any poc owed all they had to him. he's a petty pathetic racist 🤷 thats the only explanation i can think of for him to be not only this jealous, but willing to go this far over it. he's done so many despicable things it makes my stomach churn just to think about them

That’s a Wrap!

It’s been nearly 7 months since the idea of a consent themed fest was born from a discussion in the Drarry Squad discord. It’s been said before, but it bears repeating: when we the mods first began planning the fest in earnest we discussed how 5 ficlets would be a success (and that’s with two of us writing!).

After just over 6 weeks of posting, the HD Consent Fest AO3 collection hosts:

-55 different writers and artists, including 11 who identified themselves as writing in a fest for the first time

-56 submissions

-50 fics

- > 800,915 words (words embedded in comics and graphic novels not counted); average word count = 16018

-6 beautiful works of visual art, including 2 comics and a graphic novel

And these stats don’t even account for all the HYPE that followers of the fest shared—keeping the fest buzzing on AO3, tumblr, and discord via recs, chat, comments, kudos, likes, and reblogs.

Needless to say, mates, we are chuffed. You have done more than blow away our wildest hopes; you have strapped them to a rocket and shot the rock into outer space.

To everyone who submitted fic or art or both, we are staggered, humbled, and beyond grateful for all of the thought, energy, time, love, and sweat you poured into your submissions.
