He's only a little surprised that Ignis doesn't... seem to put up that much of a fuss when he scolds him. It's such a laughable situation, Noctis almost has the urge to chuckle, shaking his head. Seemingly dire situation aside, he's thankful he wasn't going to fight him on it.
"Well... Good. Sit tight, alright?" With that, the prince moves about for the medical supplies, sorting through the box summoned in a crystalline flicker, tugging free a few rolls and adhesive bandages. The wounds weren't so deep they'd need to dig into their stash of curatives, but... they still needed to be looked at and cleaned up. And since Ignis had gotten the majority of his injuries from his recklessness... it felt only fair that he should help fix the damage.
There's a silence that spans between them, nothing strained or tense, but comfortable as he works. He doesn't have as extensive a knowledge as Ignis himself or Gladio, but he knows enough to pass for basic knowledge - and he hadn't snapped at him or corrected his practice so far, so... Noctis counts it as a win.
Each time he brushes against a too raw area, he winces in sympathy, darkened brows knitting together with a mumbled apology let free as he shakes his head and finishes up. Not a moment too soon, and already, he's looking less banged up than he had earlier.
Leaning back with a bit of pride, he beams back lightly at the other with a snort.
"There you go, Specs. Good as new." Kind of. "Just take it easy next time, okay?"
Sitting back now, the brevity of it falls on lean shoulders, and with a sigh, the smile falling away, Noctis reaches up to rub at the back of his neck, ruffling through messy raven locks with a grumble of guilt. A somber mood falls over him, and keeping eyes averted, he rests his forearms along the tops of his knees, wringing his hands together as he tries to push the words free.
Takes him too long, but he manages, and with it his sights flicker upwards to meet his friends, more serious than he was used to being.
"Just... No more... jumping in to take hits for me. Got it? You're not worth anything less than me just because of my stupid title."

Family: Father, King Raminas B'Nargin Dalmasca; mother (deceased); seven brothers including twins Eclipsis and Ignis (written by @revenantxprince); one sister, Ashelia. (His family may be alive or dead depending on timeline and verse.)

BACKGROUND:
Caelen was the sixth son born to King Raminas of House Dalmasca, a prince and one of Dynast blood simply because of that fact. By the time he was born, his eldest three brothers had already perished in the war. Plague and war took the other two older brothers, leaving Caelen, his little twin brothers, and his baby sister Ashelia as the only surviving siblings.
Caelen was very badly emotionally affected by both the plague and the war. Having lost almost all his brothers and his mother to illness and falling in battle, he was terrified of the day when he would be told to do his duty and defend Dalmasca in battle as well. He found some comfort in Basch, who was always encouraging and willing to help Caelen hone his fighting skills, but others, such as his father as Vossler, were less encouraging. They reminded Caelen of all those who fell before him, and of how he could not let them down. As a prince and next in line for the throne, he ought to be brave and represent Dalmasca on the front lines alongside Nabradia.
Basch tried to tell Raminas that Caelen's heart was not in it. He was not a soldier, and even more so, he was not someone comfortable will killing. Raminas simply said with a heavy heart, "He will learn, for we all must. Such is the way of war." But instead of learning, Caelen fell into a deep depression after his first taste of battle. Basch had done his best to stay near him and protect him, but Caelen had been traumatized by the death and suffering he witnessed. He fell ill, and Basch thought he would follow in the footsteps of his mother, dying of a heart that could take no more of war and death, until one day Caelen miraculously... felt better.
He seemed calmer, he smiled more, and he was not dwelling on the oppressive weight of his duties as prince or the horrors of war. When asked what had changed, he said he owed his improvement to a friend who had told him everything was going to be alright. Basch sent a letter to Raminas, begging the king to allow Caelen to return to Rabanastre because he was not well. This "friend" could only be seen and heard by Caelen, and Basch assumed the young man had cracked from trauma and pressure. But before Caelen could be sent back home... he disappeared.
During a particularly harrowing battle, Basch lost sight of the young prince. And in that moment, he was gone. Not dead, gone. Although he meticulously checked the dead for Caelen's body, it was never found. It was as if he had vanished completely. Assumed dead, a funeral was held in Rabanastre without a body in the coffin, and one more failure for which he felt deep guilt was heaped upon Basch's ever-growing pile.
What had actually happened, was that Caelen was mistakenly picked up by Archadian forces as one of their own injured. Once he was in Archadia, Caelen fled into the anonymity and poverty of Old Archades to start life over again, away from the throne he didn't want and the war he didn't believe in. It would have been terrifying, to begin again in an enemy land, but of course... he did have his friend with him to help...
Everyone had thought Caelen crazy, but he really was seeing and hearing someone who was willing to stand by him - or float, rather - and help him through life's trials. "Fear not, Son of Dalmasca. Soft and kind your life was destined to be. Alone, you are not. Abandoned, never shall you be. Listen well, and heed the words of one who would see you thrive," this being had said. And, never having met an Occuria before, Caelen had no idea the creature, called Munoh, even was one. That was something they revealed later, after a bond had been formed over many months.
Caelen felt safe, cared for, liberated, and most importantly, he wasn't alone. Munoh helped him to survive in Old Archades, and Prince Caelen B'Nargin Dalmasca remained dead. Cael Skjult, blacksmith and leatherworker, now lived a humble life among people who were struggling but mostly good natured. It wasn't an easy life, but it wasn't that of a prince or a soldier, which were things he'd never wanted.
Fun Facts:
In the alias Caelen chooses for himself when he lives in Archadia, his last name of "Skjult" is Norwegian for "hidden." I'm using that language as a proxy for Landisian, which Basch taught Caelen some of.
He is affectionately known as the "Muttering Blacksmith of Old Archades" for the way he constantly talks to himself. Of course he's speaking to Munoh, but nobody knows that and he doesn't really care to tell anyone.
To further conceal his identity in Archadia, Caelen dyes his hair with things like hemp and coffee to make it appear to be dirty blonde instead of the trademark grayish/pale blonde of those of Dynast blood.
Potential Starter Ideas:
Your muse could meet Caelen in Archadia, either before the events of the game or during. If your muse is a native Archadian and/or if they are in a position of power, finding out his true identity might be something of value or a piece to play in negotiations or otherwise in the war.
Your muse could meet him in Dalmasca before the events of the game and before he went off to war and disappeared into Archadia.
Your muse might have to go talk to Caelen after an encounter with Munoh, or if they learn of an Occuria helping a hume and want to try to convince Caelen to help them with something.
There is always the MCU verse, heh.

// Alright. It was inevitable, but hey, I finally decided to make it official.
Ignis is getting moved back to my multi ( @tenebriism ), which, by extension, means Charlotte is going with him. I've not been consistently active over here in what feels like years, and there's no point in keeping Ignis -- a beloved character of mine, always and forever -- secluded to this borderline abandoned blog.
Whether ships carry over, I'll leave that to y'all. I already have a few I KNOW will carry over ( Ignis' developments with Cidney’s Zack Fair, Rissa's Gladio and Gilmore, and Charlotte's, as well ), and maybe a few others, depending on if we are still mutuals.
EDIT: And, for those I was already mutuals with, threads will get carried over. :)
Hopefully, he can get the love from me that he deserves on my multi. No hard feelings if you choose not to follow, I know multi muse blogs are not everyone's cup of tea. 💚 If this is goodbye, then thank you for sticking with me all these years on this blog and letting Ignis flourish. What’s your favorite trope to write? Do you write fights/battlefields threads? What kind of romantic ships do you like? Toxic or fluff?

Heyo! So I'll answer the question about the Carrd first. I actually made it myself. I've used a few templates and paid for one early on that I learned how to use the website from. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Digital Communications, and I love designing things like that. It's cathartic and honestly really relaxing to just sit around and let it happen.
What is your favorite trope to write?
I adore the whole " strong character breaking " trope. So many games portray these characters, especially the title characters like Noctis or Clive, as people who can just keep on trucking through some god awful experiences. I'll use Noctis as an example, since 16 is still really new. You get to see him in the movie " Kingsglaive " telling Drautos to keep his father safe. While he will never learn this, Drautos is the one that kills his father, forcing the crown on his head and setting things in motion. We get to see Noctis break a little early on when Cor tells him about his father and Gladio's being dead, and then nothing since then.
The train to Cartanica is not something I consider canon in it's normal iteration, because of poor writing. Yes, Gladio is allowed to be upset and push Noctis a bit. Their strategist is now blind and Lunafreya is dead. From Gladio's perspective, Noctis shut down for seemingly no reason. Meanwhile, Noctis is fighting with the fact that all of this happened because of him.
Ignis is blind because he defended him from Ardyn, or in the more likely explanation given to him, to save his king's life. Lunafreya is dead partially because she was killing herself by healing those infected by the Scourge, and because Ardyn is a dick. Add this to finally getting the ring that they've been hunting down, and guess what?
The thing spends every waking moment whispering to him about how pleased they are to be with him, begging him to put it on, to fufill his destiny, to become one with the kings before him. He's allowed to be despondent.
All this is to say that the title characters tend to be unbreakable, and I like giving them depth and seeing them in ruins.
Do you write fights/battlefields threads?
I do! Not as often as I used to, but I was a moderator for Pledged Prelude and Crystatherum when they were active groups. We had lots of action based events and I helped in writing our Festival of the Hunt event. Besides that, I often find that I want to write out what may have happened in certain fights for my characters.
For example, my single Octopath Traveler muse - Therion. He's 5'3" and all of maybe 100lbs. With wind magic being a thing in Octopath, that poor boy would get thrown around a lot, nevermind that he's considered one of the front line fighters for the game. He's fast and strikes hard, but given his physique and skills, it would be incredibly easy to throw him off a cliff. I've written a few drabbles for asks based on combat situations for him and for Noctis.
What kind of romantic ships do you like? Toxic or fluff?
All kinds. The blog tends to run more on M/M ships because I am a lady and I write exclusively men it seems, but I am open for just about anything. Twilight Link has a ship with @txnichtgut's OC that I adore, Clive has a ship with @cidolfvs' Cid that is far more chaotic than I expected, and Therion has a ship with @asterisque's Alfyn because grumpy boy needs some sunshine.
Each have things in them that I absolutely crave, ranging from conflict to absolutely disgusting fluff and smut on occasion, and I wouldn't ask for anything else.
As for a preference on toxic or fluffy ships, I would have to say that I prefer fluff if only because I haven't had a ship that was truly toxic. Conflict driven and not always easy, absolutely.
Diabolos, my FFXIV character and the Voidsent/Summon from the series, has had a hell of a couple of ships, and is actually my primary poly muse. Dia fights with his spouses more often than not, and with him nigh constantly being used as a weapon for extra content in the game, that doesn't seem to be ending any time soon.
There was one ship I had with a friend that is near and dear to me who is actually writing out the story for our muses that was borderline toxic though. My Final Fantasy VIII OC and her iteration of Cerberus @ettriscapita ( @claireverie is her 'active' blog ) were fun to write!

Worldbuilding
So thanks to the recent trend in media, verses have become increasingly crossover friendly. As such please find below a handy set of references as to how crossovers could potentially work sorted by fandom
Final Fantasy XIV
(Thancred, ???)
XIV has the beautifully designed plotpoint known as the Interdimensional rift, so for XIV muses it's somewhat ridiculously easy to use the rift as an excuse for muses to meet and interact without prior knowledge. The rift also lends to threads in which the muses need to work their way towards civility. After all, its not that unreasonable to be hostile or untrusting of someone who quite literally appeared from nowhere with little to no experience of the language.
Final Fantasy XV
(Ignis, Nyx)
Ah Nyx and Iggy, they too have a method of spreading out into the multiverse via one of the Mun's absolute favour tropes. Gods that just can't help but meddle. XV has the Crystal of Light and the 6 Astral dieties who like to tear people from the flow of time, and quite often punish them under the guise of offering power and favours. This particular plot device can lead anywhere from open hostility to silent weariness, especially in the case of Nyx.
FATE
(Archer, Lancer, Shirou, Ritsuka)
FATE being FATE, it has not one, not two, but three plot divices for multiverse traversal. For Archer and Lancer this method is the Throne of Heroes, allowing for some knowledge of wherever it decides to throw them. For Shirou, the method of appearing in different universes would be considered an aspect of magic known as Kaleidoscope, which comes with the neat trick of being warned not to do anything that can change the course of history. Lastly, Ritsuka's method of ending up in different timelines is LAPLACE, which is the direct opposite of Shirou's form of multiverse travel. LAPLACE's directive is the purpose known as preserving history as recorded, which tends to lead to the assumption of hostility near immediately.
Final Fantasy VII(R)
(Cloud Strife)
For all my.... issues with aspects of the remake. I absolutely adore the usage of timespace tears as a plot-device. These selfsame tears are great for setting up alternate histories or futures, even for driving the idea of magic where there is none or technology more primative or advanced than Cloud or vice versa would be used to.

Seriously, where do I even start with all your blogs? Yes, Even though you only sent me this on one, I'm going to talk about all of them.
Strength-of-heart/Adversity-born: First blog I met you on (on WillfulWayfarer). I knew you as a Terra twin before anything else. I love interacting with other Terra's because usually people who share my muse can see why I love him so much. Then I mentioned my 'Hearted Lingering Will' Verse to you (which was made for interacting with twins at first) and you helped to flesh him out to the Will we know and love today. Seriously, I don't think I would have him in this form if it weren't for us talking about it.
Besides Will and occasionally Cloud, I must admit that I don't interact with your Terra much, but I love him nonetheless.
Terranort and Arret also have a few RPs here and there that I like and I'm still interested in poking Ansem.
Reverent-Dreamer: I can't count how many time's we've talked to each other about how much we love Terra and Riku, especially the mentor/student like relationship they have, despite Terra not having taught him much.
Not only are they that, but our Terra and Riku are just, brothers. They share a deep bond that we've shown in our RPs with the two of them together. They are hands down my favorite platonic relationship in all of Kingdom Hearts.
Lionfated: Where do I even start with your Leon? Well for one thing, I think we both got each other heavily into Strifehart. I actually didn't ship it beforehand, but now I can't not ship it, not after we've RPed it together. After the Scars thread, I don't think I can go back to not shipping Strifehart.
They're just so perfect for each other. They're alike enough to understand each other, but different enough to be surprised by each other. They've both lost people in their lives so they're hesitant to trust, but once they do, they love each other hard. They heal each other. They're each other's lights in the darkness.
This is hands down my favorite blog of yours and probably the one that we have the most RPs on. I just love your Leon to bits and pieces. He's just so uniquely yours, down to the idea that he has a coffee addiction, just like you. XD
Don't even get me started on The Fatal Midnight Fall. It's probably my favorite of the Strifehart AUs. To think that it started with a night of us chatting back and forward to each other and trying to figure out the pieces of this puzzle and how they fit in place. We know how it ends, but that's a secret. I can't wait till we get to the good bits in that RP.
Moon-Hollowed: Not much I can say about Isa, except that I can tell that you've thought a lot about him. I've only just begun interacting with him, but I do want his relationship with Terra to develop. There's a lot of barriers to get there and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Nights-Fear: The blog of yours that I know the least about, but recently I started poking your FFXV muses on Mako (with my Ignis) and I have been enjoying what we've got so far! I don't know many of the other fandoms you've got on there, but I'm glad you're having fun!
Lucian, you are truly one of the best friends I've made here on Tumblr and I'm truly happy to have known you! Your art is amazing and you put so much thought into the characters that you do pick up! Thank you so much for being my friend <3 ))

The Advisor to the Heir Apparent should not be one to moan and groan, even when his head ails him beyond reason, and his chest feels as if it may collapse in on itself. When the call to work beckons him, he answers, even when he appears as if he has one foot in the grave and the other, soon, to join it.
--- and, perhaps he should not be tidying up the prince's quarters in so poorly a state, but it is on the list of urgent and prioritized tasks, for the day, and thus, cannot simply be ignored. Except . . . at some point amidst making Noctis' bed, he had seated himself atop it, for a spell, with the intent to rest for but a moment . . .
Only to eventually drift off, right atop the comforter, shoes and socks and spectacles still on.

Soon as the words leave him, he already regrets it. The pang of guilt, bitter and acrid, crawls up his throat with a vice like grip, and holding his breath, lips pressed together as he tried to brave the tension threatening to crush him beneath it, Noctis holds his tongue.
A sharp exhale is released through his nose, irritated, mixed gaze torn away to glare petty daggers at the ground below. He was so sick of it. The self-sacrificing - the constant reminders of his title and how much he mattered just that bit more compared to the others. He hated it with a burning passion. And after experiencing so much loss already, the wounds festered with rot and left him hostile at the thought of losing anyone else.
He'd had Luna there... and she'd died because of him. Like hell he was letting anyone else die for him when he wasn't worth the blood shed because of some stupid prophecy.
He quells the anger, the indignation that bubbles like lava beneath his skin, and manages to drag his sights back up to peer back at the royal retainer. At his friend. At Ignis. The sight of the shades covering scarred skin, eyes that seen no longer - it clawed at him and left him feeling nothing but remorse that things had taken such a turn. Grief is quick to pour over his heated feelings, and with tense shoulders, Noctis crosses his arms defensively atop his chest as he presses his lips together.
He didn't want.. Ignis to feel like he was useless. He wasn't - fact of the matter was, with so much happening so soon, the odds amping up as quick as they had - Noctis was barely able to keep himself from getting harmed even with all his abilities and extra help. He didn't want to lose anyone else.
So... at least on that front, he knows they have common ground.
And just like that - all his anger at the unfairness of the situation, all the fear - it bleeds out of him like blood from a cut. He's tired. He knows they are too. And... he just can't find it in himself to cling to it when things were already in shambles as is. Ignis meant well. Always would. With a heavy swallow, Noctis sighs.
"I know. I know..." He breaks the stare. "I... owe you guys for everything. I just don't... I've lost a lot of people already. We all have, yeah, but, right now - you guys are all I have left. Duty - whatever we're even still doing here, it should matter to me but it doesn't. Not if the cost is losing my friends in the process."
He was selfish.
A trait he hated at times but was able to ignore for the most part. But right now, temper tantrum be fucking damned, he was at his limit. He'd do his duty, he'd bring the Crystal back and do what he could on his end, but anything else coming to strike at him would undoubtedly leave him shattered.

3. On what platform did you start RPing?
Technically MSN but I was a kid and I didn't know that it was roleplaying, I thought it was just making up stories and sending them back and forth. Officially, I want to say like Bulbagarden, probably.
9. Did you have muse you tried to play, but ended up dropping for various reasons?
Ignis from Final Fantasy XV was interesting at first but after a point I found it kind of tiring to write him as he's always sort of the straight man of the group and is often reacting to shenanigans rather than engaging in them and there wasn't much potential to delve into a sillier and comedic side of him and by that point, I was kind of just over writing muses similar to myself - I wanted to challenge myself and write a muse very different from myself so that's partially why I picked Ryuji.
17. What was your first muse?
A male OC for a group roleplay ages ago, back in like 2012, I think.
38. What's the best inspiration for your muse?
I guess I've always been fortunate in that I don't need to go back and play Persona 5 to kickstart some muse, I find a lot of inspiration in just day to day life, like thinking of how it's getting warmer here and how spring has started makes me want to do spring threads with Ryuji. If I go to the pool, it makes me want to write more swimming threads with him.
