I didn't expect that you and Commandant Simon were planning something to celebrate my "activation day".
Since my body was made by the Ascendants by piecing together the remains of other Constructs, my memory's a bit foggy and I can't remember the exact date I was reconstructed. But when I was filling out my data, the staff said I could pick any date I'd like to celebrate as my birthday instead, so that's what I registered on the form.
So I was honestly surprised that you remembered and even wished me a happy birthday, even though the information I filled in wasn't exactly correct.
Honestly, this was something I should've told you back at the Gray Raven's lounge, but I couldn't say anything at the time.
I didn't realize until now but, because I've gotten so used to just surviving that I've grown accustomed to forgetting about things like birthdays, whether it be my own or others. If you hadn't reminded me, I would've most likely forgotten about it again.
So thank you; for not only remembering this special day, but also for your joy at the birthdate of this sinner.
Does this mean that I've gotten closer to and accepted by you, even just a little bit?
According to the customs of travelling merchants and traders, I should've given you something as a token of my gratitude.
But after picking out my gifts for Commandant Simon, Captain Paloma, and Lillian, I realized I knew practically nothing about you nor what you liked, so I didn't know what to get you.
Though I know there's nothing wrong with gifting someone that's of inherent value, my predecessors have always said that friendship without mutual benefactory is delicate and flawed.
Owing debts to each other is sometimes necessary between people. Good friends will bicker, fight, and then make up afterwards, repeating this cycle again and again. Only with this can we truly let our guards down and become real friends.
But I'm no longer a drifting trader. I wish to stay here, so I won't consider this as a one-time thing.
Can I see you again sometime soon?
I wish to know more about you; not from other people, but from you directly.
And when that time comes, I'll definitely prepare a much better gift for you then-- the gift known as friendship.
Of course, if you'd like to have that moment alone instead, then you can disregard this notebook or even this drawing of a starry sky.
The main reason why I drew it is because I still remember what you said that day.
Additionally: Having said that, I feel a bit embarrassed having given you a couple of useless drawings, so I went out and bought at least a few multivitamin candies since Comnandant Simon said that commandants often use these as diet supplements.
You've been working a lot lately, so it's important to not forget about regularly taking your medicine. Please don't push yourself too hard.

i keep seeing people getting a little confused about the titles and terms used in rotbb so i thought id make a quick little guide on the more common titles and pre/suffixes used in the novel/manhwa
for minor context, members of a sect may take on the names that denote which generation they come from within the sect (current mount hua consists of, in order from eldest to youngest, the hyun line, the un line, the baek line, and the chung line, though the true generational naming convention would have typically been chung > myung > hyun > un > baek, which would then repeat in a cycle) however taking on a generational name isnt necessarily required/enforced (ex. yu iseol, yoon jong, jo gul, etc do not take on generational names)
in his previous life, because chung myung was raised in the sect since infancy, he took on the chung generational name as his ‘birth’ name, as the chung line was the generation he was raised in. when he reenters mount hua post resurrection, he becomes a third class disciple, aka the current era chung disciples
TITLES
jangmun: sect leader, jangmun'in is used when speaking directly to the sect leader (ex. hyun jong, chung mun)
sasuk: senior martial brother, used by disciples of a different rank to senior disciples of higher ranking (ex. the chung disciples referring to the baek disciples, the baek/chung disciples referring to the un disciples)
sajil: junior martial brother, used by disciples of a different rank to junior disciples of a lower ranking (ex. the un disciples referring to the baek/chung disciples, the baek disciples referring to the chung disciples)
sasukjo: great martial uncle, used by disciples referring to the line above sasuk
sajo: martial grandparent/ancestor
sason: martial grandchild/descendant
sahyung: senior martial brother, used by disciples within the same rank to disciples who entered the sect earlier than them (aka chung myung referring to the elder chung disciples, chung disciples referring to yoon jong)
sajae: junior martial brother, used by disciples within the same rank to disciples who entered the sect after them (ex. the chung disciples referring to the chung disciples)
sajeo: senior martial sister, same as sahyung but used for women
sago: senior martial sister, same as sasuk but used for women (ex. tang soso referring to yu iseol)
samae: junior martial sister, same as sajae but used for women (ex. baek cheon referring to yu iseol)
dojang: disciple (ex. older characters use this to refer to chung myung/disciples of a sect)
hyung: meaning older brother, used by males when referring to their older brother or to an older male colleague one is friendly with
hyeonja-bae: referring to the hyun generation
unja-bae: referring to the un generation
baekja-bae: referring to the baek generation
cheongja-bae: referring to the chung generation
maehwa geomjon: plum blossom sword saint
hwasan shinryong: mount huas divine dragon
amjon/amzone: dark saint
maknae: used to refer to the youngest person in a group of people
PRE/SUFFIXES
-ah: a suffix that denotes casual familiarity typically used for those who are younger than the speaker or are of the same social standing, used at the end of a name if the name ends in a consonant (ex. hyun jong calls chung myung ‘chung myung'ah’)
-ya: a suffix that denotes casual familiarity typically used for those who are younger than the speaker or are of the same social standing, used at the end of a name if the name ends in a vowel (ex. chung myung calls tang bo ‘tang bo'ya’)
-nim: a respectful suffix that essentially means mr/mrs/miss
dosa: meaning taoist (ex. tang bo typically refers to chung myung as hyung nim/dosa hyung/dosa hyung nim)
-jon: a title given to martial artists who have mastered their respective martial arts perfectly, the most honourable title a warrior could get, translated to as ‘saint’ in the novel or 'supreme' in the manhwa (ex. plum blossom sword saint, dark saint)
please keep in mind however im not fluent in korean nor am i fully familiar w these terms of address and am using my knowledge of chinese honorifics and titles as they follow a similar formula.. if ive mislabeled something or used an unfaithful/misleading description, or if you just have more to add that i havent listed, please lmk!

I have a question for Genshin side of tumblr, especially the multilinguals and translators because I am on board with Alhaitham and Kaveh them being platonic or romantic but it just hit me after seeing user & artist eannagram bring it up on Twitter
Alhaitham says he has a house and even threatens to kick out Kaveh out- yet in all the English translations they use the word “roommates”. Kaveh is literally an architect so even if the place is small, it makes no sense for them to share a room based off their dynamic. And even if it was a dorm or apartment, roommates is still the incorrect phrase because housemates, dorm mates, & flat mates would all be a more accurate translations
Are they genuinely gay coded and this is how the EN team is getting the CN censorship across without explicitly saying it or is it a mistranslation and the EN team accidentally implied they’re a couple?

Has anyone done an in-depth analysis of the train bros’ Japanese dialogue? Or in any other language for that matter?
Idk, they have pretty distinct speech patterns in English (I’ve talked about Emmet’s in particular already, sorta) and I want to see how that kind of speech was translated into different languages

@contest-chu Lucina, I have a couple of choices for you to look through, whenever you have a minute.
First up is Pyre the vulpix- he's a little headstrong, but he's very bold and outgoing! He does like battling, but he's never been in a contest, so you two would have to work out a routine from scratch. He's certainly not afraid to stand up for himself, or for his trainer.
Next up we have Chomps the Mawile- she's a little shy, but she's very sweet and loves cuddles. She does love playing with fabrics, so she might like costumes for contests! Chomps might take a little while to warm up, but with love (and treats!) she'll be cuddling in your lap in no time.
Third up is Playdough the sandshrew. He came to us with the name, I swear. He's pretty calm and even-tempered, and is happy to work with just about anyone. He especially likes digging in the sand and hiding treats in there!
Fourth is Cotton Candy the galarian ponyta! He can be a little bit of a diva at times, but he's been very good with kids. His parents were actually contest pokemon, but he hasn't been in one himself. Cotton Candy loves his mane and tail being brushed, and people paying attention to him, but he's also been very patient with people who need it.
Last up is Ciabatta the fidough, who is a very sweet girl. She doesn't have any experience in battling or contests, but she's very enthusiastic! She likes nothing better than just hanging out with her people, in whatever form that may take. She'd be more than happy to battle, do contests, or just sit on your lap!
I'll get the paperwork set up for you-take your time and think about it, there's no rush. If you have any questions about care or feeding of any of them, just let me know, ok?

<The video shows a smartly dressed reporter approaching Piers, who is cuddling with Proteus and several Hydregion that have been drawn to the dark type leader.
"Care to make a comment on your boyfriend's outburst."
The woman practically shoves the microphone in Pier's face.
Piers attempts to wave off the reporter with a "no thank you." hes a wreck, running eyeliner and all that jazz, clearly stressing about the whole situation.
"Just a few questions and we'll be out of your hair." She pushes the mic further into his face. Proteus is starting to bristle, and the hydrageon are getting restless growling a bit.
Piers growls a little as well. "I said. No. Please. leave me alone."
Theres venom to his words, as if he could quite literally strike at any moment
The lady is NOT taking a hint and touches his face with the mic, tapping him a few times.
He fucking loses it. He bites the microphone and claws at the lady's arm, his untrimmed nails drawing a few beads of her blood.
He yanks the mic out of her hand and throws it to the floor, all the while screaming strings of profanities and threats at her. Tears flow freely down his face as he. pretty much loses All of his shit.
The woman starts backing up as the pokemon around piers begin to pick up on his rage and they start growling. While piers is yelling "s Oydych chi'n cyffwrdd â mi eto yn sâl ffycin lladd chi!" A dragon-pulse from one of the enraged hydregon goes flying past the camera. "Rydych chi'n ddiwerth! ffycin ddiwerth!! hes allan yna fuck yn gwybod ble a'r cyfan y gallwch ei wneud yw shit o gwmpas, gwneud rhywbeth gwerth chweil cyn i mi adael y bwystfil hwn yn rhydd ar chi." Piers continues to scream as Protues pushes himself to his feet growling. At this moment the video cuts to them running with a small pack of angry dieno on their heels.>

Also the Official NA Account got the Stamp's name wrong, so I corrected it in my post when I uploaded it.
It's a Nouveau, not a Neo like they posted. The stickers on the weapon as well as the translation of JP's post confirmed it to be a Nouveau. (ヒュー -> Hyū or Hugh/Hue as it comes up in Google Translate)
