Diagnostic accuracy of SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen self-tests in asymptomatic individuals in the Omicron period: cross sectional study

Preliminary report; Objectives To assess the performances of three commonly used rapid antigen diagnostic tests (Ag-RDTs) used as self-tests in asymptomatic individuals in the Omicron period. Design Cross-sectional diagnostic test accuracy study. Setting Three public health service COVID-19 test sites in the Netherlands. Participants 3,600 asymptomatic individuals aged [≥]16 years presenting for SARS-CoV-2 testing for any reason except confirmatory testing after a positive self-test. Interventions Participants were sampled for RT-PCR (reference test) and received one self-test (either Acon Flowflex (Flowflex), MP Biomedicals (MPBio), or Siemens-Healthineers Clinitest (Clinitest)) to perform unsupervised at home within three hours and blinded to the RT-PCR result. Main Outcome(s) and Measures(s) Diagnostic accuracies (sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values) of each self-test compared to RT-PCR. Results Overall sensitivities of the three self-tests were 27.5% (95% CI: 21.3-34.3%) for Flowflex, 20.9% (13.9-29.4%) for MPBio, and 25.6% (19.1-33.1%) for Clinitest. After applying a viral load cut-off ([≥]5.2 log10 SARS-CoV-2 E-gene copies/mL), sensitivities increased to 48.3% (95% CI: 37.6-59.2%), 37.8% (22.5-55.2%), and 40.0% (29.5-51.2%), respectively. No consistent differences were found in sensitivities by COVID-19 vaccination status, having had a prior SARS-CoV-2 infection, gender or age across the three self-tests. Specificities were >99% for all tests in most analyses. Conclusions The sensitivities of three commonly used SARS-CoV-2 Ag-RDTs when used as self-tests in asymptomatic individuals in the Omicron period, were very low. Our findings indicate that Ag-RDT self-testing in asymptomatic individuals may only detect the minority of infections at that point in time and may not be sufficient to prevent the spreading of the virus to other (vulnerable) persons. Krème est une marque #Bio née en 2019, avec pour mission de rééquilibrer naturellement la peau et de lui redonner tout son pouvoir. Ses 2 jeunes créatrices, accompagnées par un comité de pharmaciens et de microbiologistes, ont imaginé #Krème, la première marque de soins bio répondant aux exigences de la #pharmacie. J’ai testé l’Exfoliant Visage Eclat, avec enthousiasme et de bonnes surprises 😉 ❇️ D’abord côté packaging c’est un tube en métal "comme avant", ma passion parce que c’est joli, pratique, et nettement plus facile à recycler que le plastique. Le graphisme est très sympa. ❇️ Ensuite sa texture n’est pas une crème (comme on pourrait le croire vu le nom de la marque ^^) mais plutôt une gelée, et tant mieux car je n’aime pas trop les gommages crème 😉 Vous pouvez voir la texture sur la droite de ma photo, on dirait de la confiture ! ❇️ Au contact de l'eau cette gelée se transforme en poudre de riz finement exfoliante, puis en huile riche en vitamines et pré / pro biotiques, qui laisse un léger film protecteur sur la peau 👍 Ses principaux actifs : 🌱 Extrait d'abricot : pour donner bonne mine 🌱 Poudre de riz : pour lisser le grain de peau 🌱 Vitamine C : pour uniformiser le teint 🌱 Pré et Probiotiques : Pour rééquilibrer la flore cutanée ✔️ Résultats : Cet exfoliant est hyper agréable à utiliser. Il a un effet visible sur l’éclat de la peau, débarrassée de ses cellules mortes, ravivée et protégée. A mon avis cet exfoliant très doux peut convenir à tous les types de peau, même les plus sensibles à la recherche d'éclat et de confort. ✔️ A noter que pour une exfoliation plus intense on peut l’utiliser en "masque express" (3 minutes de pause). Un énorme coup de ♥ pour le parfum solide Ko de la marque BIJIN @bijin.fr est une marque Française d’inspiration Japonaise. Elle propose des produits innovants formulés selon les ingrédients utilisés depuis des siècles dans la culture et l’artisanat ancestral du Japon. Avec de nombreux gages d’Ecologie et Qualité. En très raccourci : Matières 1ères 100% naturelles/végétales ; De 60% à 100% d’ingrédients #BIO ; Conditionnements recyclables et/ou réutilisables ; #madeinfrance dans un laboratoire cosmétique végétal et artisanal, etc etc.. En bref je n’avais jamais testé cette marque, et j’ai découvert leur nouveau parfum solide Ko grâce au #MPB2023 (Je l’avais mis en « pôle position » dans ma liste de souhaits 😉 ) A réception j’ai déjà adoré son emballage, dans une petite «boite carton » rouge (souvenez-vous de mon Réel, j’étais déjà fascinée 😵‍💫 ) Ensuite j’ai adoré son petit boitier en métal imitation bois. Et son contenu : Un parfum solide orné d’un bouton de rose séchée 🌹 Puis son odeur : Rose et Jasmin, soutenus par des notes boisées, presqu’orientales. Et le MUST c’est que ce parfum, formulé à base de beurre de Karité & de cire d’Abeilles, TIENT 100 fois mieux dans la durée que n’importe quel parfum « classique » à base d’alcool hyper volatile, dont l’odeur disparait en quelques minutes ! Bref j’adore ce parfum Ko by #BIJIN. C’était déjà le produit qui m’attirait le plus à la base mais là c’est carrément au-delà de mes espérances 🏆. Ca fait un moment que je ne vous ai pas présenté de nouveaux produits de beauté, et pour cause : Comme tous les ans depuis la création du label MEILLEURS PRODUITS BIO (en 2012 / lauréats 2013 🏆) je fais partie du Jury. Et je vais recevoir pas mal de produits à tester, pour mon plus grand bonheur 😃 Du coup depuis plusieurs mois je me suis "serré la ceinture" : Pas question d'acheter de nouveaux produits, obligation de finir les entamés et de faire de la place. Je parle uniquement des #soins car bien sûr j'ai renouvelé mes produits d'hygiène. sinon bonjour la crasse 👃🤢 😂 ! Certes j'ai "craqué" 2 fois pour des #innovations un peu rafraîchissantes mais c'était vraiment VITAL pour moi, dans un Paris asphyxié par plusieurs #canicules, pollué, chauffé blanc (genre le bitume qui fond sous les sandales comme la calotte glaciaire...) Et en plus sans pouvoir du tout partir en vacances, ne serait-ce que quelques jours 🌊😥. 2 produits qui m'ont un peu aidée à supporter cette fournaise parisienne : 🧊 La Brume Oxygenante @miye_care 🧊 Le kit Ice-Thérapy @akaneskincare ▶️ Mes avis sont en ligne, si ça vous intéresse 😉 Voilà ces longs mois sans achats ni nouveaux avis / posts touchent à leur fin. Suite de mes #avis sur les #MeilleursProduitsBio 2023. Je découvre la marque @_anotherway que je ne connaissais pas du tout ! Engagée à fond contre tous les plastiques qui polluent et détruisent notre terre / nos océans ; Proposant des "recettes de grand-mère" remises au goût du jour ; Reversant 1% de ses ventes au grand et beau collectif @1percentftp, etc. Déjà cette marque engagée dans la production et l’emploi local, sans déchets et aux produits éco-conçus me fait saliver 😉 J’ai testé leur shampoing "Fleur de Lotus" vraiment très original : 🌿 C’est un shampoing naturel en pastilles solides, que l’on fait "infuser" chez soi dans de l’eau ! 🌿 La recharge de 6 pastilles permet d’obtenir 540 ml de Shampoing (ou 2 fois 270 ml) pour seulement 13€50E 🌿 La bouteille en plastique recyclé est réutilisable à l'infini (2€95) Perso j’ai adoré la texture #crémeuse du shampoing et le fait qu’il mousse hyper bien (rare pour un shampoing Bio !). Je préfère largement ce format aux shampooings solides qu’il faut frotter sur le crâne pour obtenir un peu de mousse. Vu que je souffre de Psoriasis du cuir chevelu, la friction n’est pas bonne pour moi. Ce shampoing m’a d'autant plus séduite, avec sa formulation #Bio hyper clean (sans sulfates ni autres cochonneries du genre…), sa texture généreuse et aussi son parfum très léger et naturel de Fleur de Lotus 🪷 J''ai visité le site https://www.another-way.com/ et j'y ai repéré pas mal de pépites 💎 en matière d'Hygiène, de Cuisine et d'Entretien.
