Double KO - Resurrecting the Galaxy Hole
@phelous‘s Bootleg zones awoke an interest in me for Masters of the Universe Knockoffs, particularly those associated with the “Galaxy Hole”, all the figures derived from Sungold’s Play-Alike Line, Galaxy Warriors.
I’m also looking to expand my 3d printing offerings to include more non-Transformers related items. So this seems like a good place to start. The plan is to produce replacement heads and accessories for a number of figure formats, formats under consideration are:
Mega Construx 2″ Building Figures
Spy Monkey Creations’ Battle Tribes 3″ Glyos-Compatible Figs
3 3/4″- 4″ Bossfight Studios Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S.
5.5″ Figures of several kinds, Funko Savage World, etc.
6″ MOTU Classics
With formats being made available as I’m able to test and confirm the joint connections. Above are some of the early sculpts, starting with the Turly Gang (Primus & Sekundos version 1s, with “Tertius” and “Quartus” new designs, with Quartus (not-Leo) being based on the blue-clad Turly from the shield-stickers) and Galaxy Warriors Spikes, Baltard, Anubi and Sahak.
First head formats that will go live will probably be Mega Construx and Battle Tribes, as I’ll be getting those test prints first. As to accessories, those are already available! (Mega Construx/Lego versions shown below)
If you’re a 5.5″ collector or customizer, I’d be very interested to hear your feedback, particularly in regard to what kind of base figures are best to build replacement parts around and what kind of parts/accesories you need.
And everyone is welcome to reblog with your favorite MOTU-style knockoffs, bootlegs, and “plays with” toys.
