A Poem for Mama

Inspired by and sparked from a poet I was listening to on @wanpoetry on YouTube. His Mother's Day Poem touched me and finally got me to get my emotion for my own Momma and get me to lessen the pressure for something I've been trying to day for 10+ years since becoming by a poet which is write my mom a Mother's Day Poem.

So here's to you Mom.

I'm keeping it unedited for the raw and pure emotion of it where I wrote it all in the YouTube chat box and couldn't post it cause it was too long lol. Love you Mom!

Thank you Mom for giving me the strength of 10 million men to smile through the tears and the years of mistreatedness Thank you Mom for repeating this time capsuoed love that every time I'm hurt I keep digging up bcuz ur love I cannot get enough. ur love no one could match even if they even have a whole box of. Thank you Mom for being the light in the sky. When daytime looks like night. Thank you Mom for teaching me how to fight. Not with my fists. Because a physical fight can never attest to the mental shizz. Thank you Mom for checking my emotions even when I'm oceans and potions away. Thank you Mom for even though I have pain every day! You still check on me to make sure I'm okay. Thank you Mom for going to Wingstop and dealing with a demon girl named Angel. Thank you Mom for even though we argue you still have never closed the door on me that takes true Love. so Thank you Mom for teaching me manners, answers, dealing with my crabby emotions like I'm a zodiac cancer. Thank you Mom for being yiu. no matter what you do and what we go through let's always build this relationship on the foundation of Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw and the many more ancestors that are buried because true love comes from deep within. So thank you Mom for planting that LOVE SEED deeply in.

Montblanc Carrera

I found this Montblanc Carrera from the 1970s at the Penshow in Nuremberg yesterday.

When my obsession with fountain pens started about half a year ago, my mom remembered that she got this pen as a present from her aunt, and she used it during most of her time in school. We started looking for it because it really meant a lot to her and still had to be somewhere, but even after turning the whole house upside down, we just couldn't find it. Eventually, she decided to look on ebay if there was another one she could get for nostalgia, but the people there want ridiculous prices for this fountain pen (€120+) so that wasn't really an option. When I saw it at the Penshow in Nuremberg yesterday, and it wasn't completely overpriced, I knew I had to get it for her. The seller even lowered his price twice (I didn't even haggle or something), and I got it for a really fair price (and less than half of what we would have had to spend on ebay.)

Today, I gave it to her as a mother's day gift, and she was soo happy about it. It still writes like new, which is crazy considering this pen is 40-50 years old. Who knows what happened to her pen. Now that I've bought her another one it's probably gonna turn up again in a random drawer or somewhere (that's usually how this goes :D)

“Sometimes you need carbcats and surprise packages. But are they a surprise if you’re the one who ordered them?”

Probably not actually, not unless the package is very late and you forget it even existed. I actually had been waiting for this package from @celesse shop the Sugar Bunny Shop because one of the items (the recipe cards) are for my mother for Mother’s Day. My mom had taken up baking during Covid and I’ve always known that she modifies recipes she finds online.

Primarily because most recipes are too sweet for my family’s palate. I happened to have noticed one day when I was over that she had re-written one of the recipes on the back of a scrap piece of paper. So I hope she will get use out of these recipe cards. If nothing else, she will think they’re really cute. My mom does like cats (though does not own a cat herself, Sherlock the cat is her grandbaby) and one of the first things she ever baked was the melon bun, though my family calls them pineapple buns. However, like melon buns, they are not made with pineapples nor do they taste like pineapples. 

For myself, I bought two nyanpan plushies which are now going to be permanently on the desk. Hopefully Sherlock won’t mind sharing desk space with plush carbcats. Originally I was going to keep them in the packaging because I love the nutritional label, but the package wasn’t as clean/clear as I thought it would be.

So instead, I scrapbooked it into my bullet journal, along with the thank you card the package came with. The card wouldn’t quite fit, so I cut out the image of the two cute nyanpans so I could glue it into the journal. I got impatient on the second sentence so the writing isn’t as neat as the first sentence, but that’s fine. I used a fine tip for this because I knew I wasn’t going to have a lot of room to write so I wasn’t going to use a brush pen for this.

Looking at the two nyanpans on top of each other, I’m honestly surprised that they fit into the mailbox even though I know they can be squished pretty easily.
