The Puli is a very old breed, introduced to Hungary from Siberia in the 9th century AD where they became invaluable herding dogs. The corded coats are hairlike in nature, similar to a Poodle’s. In fact, they are ancestors of the modern Poodle, although the Puli was never meant for water sport. Instead, the thick fibrous coats were meant to protect the Puli from wolves who would attack their flocks. They look similar to the larger, white-furred Komondor and in fact work in tandem with them, guarding the livestock at night while the more visible herder is resting.

talking to people is such a dangerous game, because my sense of what is normal and appropriate is wildly off, so I’m triple checking everything that leaves my mouth like “could this be interpreted negatively? what are the potential consequences?” which means when something finally does come out it’s delayed and stilted and artificial.
you might think that given all that, I’d be better received if I just spoke freely, BUT IF THAT SAFETY FILTER COMES OFF! ohh god, the consequences!
@thebibliosphere I hope your most recent medical intervention goes smoothly, safely, and shows you and your doctors a clear path forward to help you feel better soon.
doberman --- DOBERMAN (it’s the same but in slovenian dober means good, so they are good boys)
samoyed --- SAMOJED (mesojed: carnivorous, rastlinojed: herbivorous, samojed: someone who feeds on themselves... do whatever you want with this information)
