Early build of my "secret" DJ-related Godot project. Play around with the tracks of his HW2 minigame without having to worry about disappointing him...or, toggle DJ mode and have him mix the tracks for you. (Roughly every 8 seconds he'll switch one of the tracks, though if the RNG rerolls the same thing twice it'll appear unchanged.)
Future improvements:
Get the visualizer working (still need to make the art for it and figure out which tracks map to which art)
Figure out the hidden fifth track from the last level. I haven't been able to find the audio for these tracks or any info on what they do for the song, other than making another set of icons appear in the visualizer
Less randomization--Right now it's True Random, meaning he can reroll the same track change multiple times in a row (making it appear as if he's not switching the track) or just...straight up turn off all the tracks. (The most I've gotten him to turn off is 3 but in theory if RNG rolls right he could just turn them all off.)
Better art (better buttons for the tracks, fixing up some wonkiness on a few of the assets, giving DJ back his eyeliner, etc)
DJ's pose changes depending on if music is playing/stopped and whether or not DJ mode is on
Animations (DJ himself, the dance floor, his archway)
Different versions of the control panel--one closer to the one in the game, and the other closer to what's currently there, a bit easier to see/operate in a point-and-click computer app
Possibly add a slight fade/transition effect since some of the track switches are jarring. I think this is just how some of the tracks are since they weren't really meant to be seamless since the player would be manually switching them.
Mobile (probably just android, sorry iphone users)/web compatibility???

Tumblr media
Q&A:
How do you sign up/access sites that require JP address and phone number? A: I sign up to Tenso and use the address and number they provide. Most JP sites I've used accepts the address and phone number Tenso provides. None of the sites I've mentioned above require any sort of code to be sent to your Tenso phone number
How do you pay for the services that require JP bank accounts? A: I do not have any jp bank account and have only used my local (asean) bank account. I just pick a card and pray it's accepted by the payment site
Which site do you recommend the most for international fans? A: CL. Other than the fact that the contents are subbed, it is also the platform where you can openly post in other languages (not Japanese) whether in replies or live chats. I really encourage getting the Premium subscription to show LDH how international fans are supporting them.
What is the difference between Official Fan Club contents VS mobile sites? A: Mobile sites main contents are blog posts that are updated by members themselves so the contents mainly focus on individual members (good for people who are only fans of specific members of a group). Mobile site contents are also less formal (pictures/videos are not edited professionally). FC are mainly group-centered contents and the quantities are not as many as those that are posted in mobile sites. But no same contents are posted in both site. ※ Personal note: Mobile sites is worth your money more compared to FC
Tumblr media
END. Thank for checking this out and feel free to hit me up if you have any questions regarding these services/sites as I've had a chance to use most of them
(e.g: I can answer questions such as how to sign up to site A, what kind of contents members A, B, C post in their blog or how regularly they post blogs, or which VPN do I use when using site A or B. Unfortunately I can't help with any question regarding payment)
Let's try to support our boys where we can :)

i hope this isn't weird to ask, but I've been taking a bunch of pictures in Splatoon and I kinda want to start editing them, but I currently only have an android phone and no computer, do you have any editing apps you'd recommend? Also any tutorials on how to use them (I have like, very very minor experience in stuff like Photoshop but not much else)
hmmm well i also started out just with my phone so you should be fine!
i don't think my process was the most optimized, but i'll share it anyway.
(this is going to be under a read more since it ended up being long)
I used ibis paint x when i started out, which is a free drawing app available on pretty much every mobile device. It may take some getting used to all the buttons on there(it took me a while to learn) but i would think you could find a tutorial online for the basic functions of everything. The way i learned was by just messing with every button to see what they did and figuring it out slowly from that.
And here are the steps as to how i edited:
take the image you want to make transparent(if you don't want to make your own transparents yet mine are free to use and there are official transparent renders of certain characters as well that you can easily find on inkipedia)
just import it into your new drawing
take the eraser tool and manually erase the background.
If needed: try to redraw any parts that are missing/were obscured by other things in the image(such as items in the foreground or word bubbles if it's a manga panel). this was sort of easy for me to start to get a basic hold of since i draw already. If you don't feel confident with this, just choose an image where the character is fully visible.
In a new layer(underneath the character one), add your background.
In a new layer(above the character one) add any particle affects or the like.
You're finished!
You can also draw extra decorations (like hearts and stars) manually with the brush tool! Make sure it's on a separate layer so as not to permanently affect anything else if you decide you don't like it!
I also think canva may have a mobile app version? I have a paid version of it through someone else that i use on the website version, and i can give a tutorial for how i work in that as well. I don't know how the free version compares, but it should be pretty similar?
In canva i do the following:
select the 500x500 logo option if you want to make an icon, or another size if you want something else.
Press uploads, then upload your picture.
once you have the image you want on your canvas, click on it and select "edit photo"
choose "bg remover" and let it do its thing.
once its done loading, if there are any errors click on bg remover again and fix them with the erase and restore options.
Add a background and extra details and there you go!
I find the last step to be a lot easier in canva since it comes preloaded with a ton of options as long as you know what to look for!
Also note: i DON'T like canvas bg remover tool. it is inaccurate and kinda dumb so i would just do the transparents manually through ibis if i was you. i just dont have any other option rn. If you choose to do the transparents in ibis make sure you click "save image as transparent png" when you are downloading it so you can upload it to canva.
As for how i choose what to do and all that, i can try to explain some things that work for me.
lets use this image of dedf1sh for example:
Tumblr media
lets say i wanted to make an icon with this. what wuld i use for backgrounds and such?
for starters: colors. Take a color that's already on the characters design/associated with them and then look for things that match that color scheme.
so some examples of that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some other things to use would be things associated with the character. so for dedf1sh it would be subways, djs, music, the 80s aesthetic of octo expansion, sanitization, etc.
so here's how i would incorporate things like that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but just a character and a image can (sometimes) be boring to me, so i like to add extra things as well.
theres always my tried and true: the white shape
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can use any shape and any color really, i just default to white squares a lot since i think it looks clean. variations like a neon affect can also be a fun way spruce things up a bit!
borders of all kinds also work well to add some more stuff:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and extra little shapes like hearts and stars can be fun!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and things like glitch effects, blurs, monochrome/other color filters, etc can can also make things interesting:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
put all of this together with a theme and you can make some other cool things! stuff like seasons, colors, aesthetics, pride flags, and more can all be fun themes to make things around and thats how i end up with icons like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can also make things that aren't icons (obviously) but i don't have as much experience with that.. i would just say to try and make sure things feel balanced when working with a bigger canvas? don't have everything cluttered up in one area. and be aware of the sizings of what you are using. you don't want things to end up being too small.
here some examples of other stuff ive done outside the 500 x 500 ratio:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and thats all i can think of to say right now!
i would work first on familiarizing yourself with whatever you choose to work in, and i would look at other people's work to get inspiration as well!
and if anyone else has any suggestions for better/more efficient ways to do any of this feel free to add on! this is just my personal process, and im sure everyone uses something different. so try new things and find what works for you!
(also i am not proofreading all this if there are problmes someone let me know)
(also also if anyone, especially the person who sent the ask, has any questions feel free to ask)
Happy creating and if you ever feel like sharing feel free to tag me!

i need music apps to be more customizable. every attempt spotify makes to just spoon feed it’s users new music based on some algorithmic formula (dj, daily playlists, discover weekly) it just ends up creating a positive feedback loop so you only get recommended the same thing all the time. i like a wide array of genres, why can’t i pick which ones i want to see in my discover weekly? why can’t i pick a genre for each of my daily playlists instead of it just grouping the same random artists together?
not to mention the UI is getting more and more confusing to the point it’s losing functionality?
- replacing the heart with an add to playlist button is dumb, if i add something to a playlist before liking it it still marks it as checked the same way, so i forget to like it. then when i go to an artist and just want to hear the songs i LIKE, (the literal only good use of this feature) then they won’t appear. so what is the point??
- why can’t i add songs directly from the playlists i’ve made already on mobile? why do i have to add songs one by one ???? i feel like the above mentioned feature is trying to get users to use playlists more, but this counteracts that so again???? what is the point??
- why is the plus sign on the right side for every single playlist except discover weekly? where it moves to the left and the right side becomes a negative sign to banish it? why get users accustomed to a certain layout but change it and have it literally affect the songs they would most want to keep lol. it’s not the end of the world it’s just absolutely baffling why they would design it this way.
- why when you click on a song in the queue does it skip and delete every single song before it instead of just playing that song right away and keeping the queue in tact??
i know these are such privileged problems lol but i’m just mad about it. why can’t you make a usable app that you’re making ppl pay10 dollars a month for 😭😭

Remixing Expectations: Queer representation and gender euphoria in D4DJ Groovy Mix
Tumblr media
It seems like every season there’s a new mixed media project promoting a tie-in idol/music group with an app and an anime to jump start or adapt the story. As a self-described resident of what the masses call Idol Hell, I’ve sampled and enjoyed a couple of them. Often, however, these games have a tendency to fall into the same established, familiar patterns in terms of the story points, the character arcs, and how they speak vaguely about whatever the gimmick is. There is one recent series, however, that manages to go against this sparkly mobile game grain.
While it started out as another franchise building off of the foundation that Bushiroad’s BanG Dream built, D4DJ has managed to craft its own identity by pushing the boundaries of what is expected from a mixed media music franchise—particularly in how it integrates canonical queerness and themes of gender identity within the text, D4DJ manages to go places that very few franchises in its peer group manage to do. This makes it stand out as one of the most inclusive, earnest, and affirming music franchises that I’ve experienced.
D4DJ is a mixed media project started by Bushiroad that follows the adventures of various DJ units. The series was launched with an anime, D4DJ First Mix, in 2020, and as is commonplace across mixed-media properties of this type, the voice actresses also serve as pseudo-idols who represent their DJ units IRL.
While it has a large cast, the franchise’s story centers around Aimoto Rinku, a high schooler who returns to Japan after living abroad and gets inspired to start a unit of her own, dragging friends she meets along the way into her dream. While the anime is charming in its own right, what I want to focus on within this piece is the mobile game D4DJ Groovy Mix and how it pushes the envelope and raises the bar for what to expect from these franchises.
Read it at Anime Feminist!

Seriously though if you are tired of Spotify and have a fondness for radio and not having to pick your own music (sometimes picking anything is too hard, igi) you should start listening to somaFM. It’s ad-free + listener supported internet radio, with like, real human DJ’s and music directors and not just a fucking algorithm.
They’ve been explicitly refusing outside investors since he ‘90s and while there may not be a station for everyone there’s definitely a station for every tumblrina. I’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of their stations for the last couple weeks, and it’s way faster than picking something out of my library or spotify recommendations. If you haven’t given independent ad-free radio a shot; because you hate car radio stations; please do yourself a favor and listen to a station or two.
They’ve got mobile apps for android and iphone, as well as compatibility for smart speaker systems if you’re into those, for whatever reason. Their streams can be linked to most desktop players too, if you’re interested in playing it through your preferred media manager.

Words, and pictures : Eksovichea Tito Hak
Nostalgic for the Pacemaker? Well this is one instance where stuff has actually gotten way better since, only most people didn't actually notice, or knew of the origin context to appreciate it. I remember one time how Pioneer fanboys used to talk smack on Tonium's 'Pacemaker' DJ device all the time, saying that it will never replace professional CDJ's. To which I thought, 'no shit', but that wasn't the point of the Pacemaker DJ device. What the Pacemaker device essentially did, was take the dedicated two turntable metaphor DJ setup, and condense it into a pocket sized device that pretty much allowed you to create fully professional sounding DJ sets, anywhere, and anytime. It had a battery that allowed it to run for 3 hours without mains power ( the average length of a DJ set), that allowed you to potentially bang out a fully professional sounding DJ set using it, but despite what the pocket sized DJ device could do, those that feared it would constantly say it was 'nothing but a toy' that will never replace CDJ's. It was never meant to, but if the kids wanted badly enough to party, they would simply use what ever means they had that allowed them to knock out professional sounding DJ sets, just like back in the day when someone thought using vinyl turntable to beat match records together to create a seamless DJ set was a good idea, although the technics turntables weren't actually specifically designed for that purpose, but Tonium's Pacemaker DJ device is. Back in the day when raves, house parties, and illegal warehouse parties were happening, DJ's could have only dreamed of something like the Pacemaker DJ device, since there's no heavy records to carry where it's 120GB was ample to store thousands of records worth of tunes, and there were no heavy vinyl turntables to carry/transport either, meaning that it your illegal shin dig got busted, you could be out of there in no time with your pocket sized DJ device. It had built in stereo headphone monitors that were independent of the stereo line outputs too. Admittedly it did take somewhat of a learning curve to become accustomed to it, but most enthusiastic users would have been able to bang out a professional sounding DJ set on it within the hour of having hands on with it, and sure, it was a little more fiddly to use that a CDJ, or vinyl turntables, which for those that went out, and ordered one as a pre-release device was something that wasn't an issue, and/or they didn't really give a crap about if you were one of those enthused people that actually bought one back then. Sure, it was never going to replace CDJ's, but like I sad, that wasn't the point.
Eventually Tonium's Pacemaker DJ device was then officially, and exclusively brought to the Blackberry Playbook, for the Pacemaker DJ project to finally come to close in its final form on the final Blackberry OS device before they completely switched to running Android on Blackberry devices instead. (I nearly forgot that the Pacemaker DJ app saw its final place exclusively on the IPad).
Since then though, it seems Pioneer have made an official free mobile DJ app for both Android, and iOS (that doesn't require a paid subscription to use!) that is essentially close to what the final form of what the Pacemaker DJ device should have become, where the software and interface is now highly optimised to a pocket sized phablet device that everyone (nearly everyone) owns. It's also possible to use Pioneer's WeDJ app with an external DJ controller too, which I'm guessing Pioneer would more than likely hope you would use one of their Pioneer DJ controllers with.

view instagram story highlights anonymously
Tumblr media
Instagram Story Highlights are a feature on the Instagram platform that allows users to curate and showcase their past stories in a more permanent and organized manner. While regular Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours, story highlights remain on a user's profile for as long as they choose, making them accessible to their followers and others who visit their profile.
The desire to view Instagram story highlights anonymously arises from a variety of reasons, such as curiosity or the wish to view someone's content without alerting them or revealing your identity. However, it's crucial to understand that Instagram, like many social media platforms, places a high value on user privacy and has established policies to protect it.
Here are the steps to view Instagram story highlights while respecting privacy and Instagram's policies:
Open Instagram: Start by launching the Instagram app on your mobile device.
Search for the User: Use the search feature to find the Instagram profile of the person whose story highlights you want to see. You can search by their username or full name.
Visit the Profile: Once you've located the user's profile, tap on their profile picture or username to access their profile page. To view Instagram highlights, you can view from the page of the dj downloader website.
Access Highlights: If the user has created story highlights, you'll see circular icons with their profile picture and titles or categories displayed above their regular posts. These icons are typically located below their bio section.
Choose a Highlight: Tap on the highlight that interests you. Each highlight represents a collection of related stories.
View the Stories: The selected story highlight will play, and you can tap through the individual stories within that highlight.
While the above steps allow you to view story highlights in a respectful and compliant manner, it's important to address a few additional aspects:
1. Respect for Privacy: Always respect the user's privacy and content. Avoid attempting to use third-party tools or methods to view stories anonymously. Instagram's policies prohibit such activities and may result in the suspension or restriction of your Instagram account.
2. Ethical Use: It's essential to use Instagram in an ethical manner. Being honest and transparent in your interactions with others on the platform contributes to a positive online community.
3. Evolving Policies: Instagram's guidelines and features may change over time. It's crucial to stay informed about these changes and adapt your usage accordingly.
4. User Consent: Remember that the content shared on Instagram is subject to the user's consent. If someone has chosen to make their story highlights public, they have willingly shared that content with a broader audience.
In conclusion, while there may be a desire to view Instagram story highlights anonymously, it's important to do so in a way that respects the platform's policies and the privacy of other users. Following the steps outlined above allows you to view highlights in a compliant and respectful manner, contributing to a positive and ethical online experience for all users.

Difference between ShoutCast and AzuraCast Hosting
Shoutcast and AzuraCast are both platforms for internet radio stations, but they have some key differences.
Shoutcast is a streaming media server software developed by Nullsoft, and it is best known for its ability to stream MP3 audio. It's been widely used for online radio stations, and its protocol is proprietary, which means that only specific software and clients can connect to it.
AzuraCast, on the other hand, is a self-hosted, all-in-one web-based platform that builds on top of the open-source Icecast server. It's built on top of the Icecast streaming media server, and allows users to easily manage and stream their own radio station from a single web interface. AzuraCast supports a variety of audio formats, including MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, etc and also has more advanced features like scheduling, playlists, and automated DJ functionality.
In terms of hosting, Shoutcast requires users to have a separate server to run the software on, while AzuraCast can be hosted on a variety of servers, including shared hosting, VPS, or dedicated servers.
AzuraCast provides a more user-friendly, full-featured, and all-in-one platform for internet radio stations, while Shoutcast focuses on providing a powerful and efficient streaming server software.
Conclusion
AzuraCast is a solid platform for internet radio stations, it offers a range of advanced features such as a user-friendly web-based interface, advanced scheduling, automated DJ functionality, multi-server support, detailed reporting, and mobile app support. It also supports a variety of audio formats and can also stream video.
It also has some benefits like it is open-source and allows for more transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in the development process, integrated with popular media players and third-party services, and easy to customise.
However, it's worth noting that AzuraCast is a self-hosted platform, which means that users will need to have a server to run it on, and will be responsible for maintaining the server and troubleshooting any issues that arise. It also has a high learning curve for new users.
In summary, AzuraCast provides a more user-friendly, full-featured, and all-in-one platform for internet radio stations, and is a solid choice for those who are looking for a user-friendly, flexible, and feature-rich platform for internet radio stations but it's important to weigh the cons and the specific needs before making a decision.

VPN for SirusXM abroad
Title: Unlocking SiriusXM Abroad: The Essential Role of VPNs
Accessing SiriusXM while abroad can be a challenge due to geographical restrictions. However, with the right tool, like a Virtual Private Network (VPN), listeners can enjoy their favorite SiriusXM content from anywhere in the world.
A VPN works by encrypting your internet connection and routing it through a server in a different location. This makes it appear as though you are browsing from that server's location, bypassing any geo-blocks that would normally prevent access to SiriusXM and other region-locked content.
Here's how to use a VPN to listen to SiriusXM abroad:
Choose a Reliable VPN Provider: Select a VPN service that offers servers in the United States, where SiriusXM is based. Look for providers with strong encryption, a no-log policy, and fast connection speeds to ensure a smooth streaming experience.
Install and Configure the VPN: Once you've chosen a VPN provider, download and install their application on your device. Follow the instructions to set up the VPN and connect to a server located in the US.
Access SiriusXM: With the VPN active and connected to a US server, visit the SiriusXM website or use the mobile app to log in to your account. You should now have unrestricted access to SiriusXM's extensive library of music, talk shows, sports, and more.
Enjoy Unlimited Entertainment: Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, a VPN allows you to stay connected to your favorite SiriusXM channels wherever you go. Catch up on the latest news, listen to live concerts, or enjoy exclusive interviews with your favorite artists, all without missing a beat.
In conclusion, a VPN is an invaluable tool for unlocking SiriusXM abroad. By masking your location and encrypting your connection, it provides a secure and reliable way to access premium content from anywhere in the world. So next time you're traveling overseas, don't forget to pack your VPN and keep the music playing wherever you roam.
SiriusXM geo-blocking workaround
SiriusXM is a popular audio streaming service known for its wide range of music, talk shows, sports coverage, and more. However, many users encounter limitations due to geo-blocking restrictions that prevent access to certain content based on their location. Geo-blocking is typically implemented to comply with licensing restrictions and copyright agreements, but it can be frustrating for users who want to enjoy their favorite SiriusXM programming from anywhere in the world.
Fortunately, there are workarounds that can help users bypass these geo-blocking restrictions and access SiriusXM content regardless of their location. One effective method is to use a virtual private network (VPN). A VPN allows users to mask their IP address and appear as though they are accessing the internet from a different location. By connecting to a VPN server in a country where SiriusXM is accessible, users can trick the service into thinking they are located in an approved region, thus bypassing geo-blocking restrictions.
Another option for circumventing geo-blocking on SiriusXM is to use a proxy server. Proxy servers act as intermediaries between a user's device and the internet, allowing users to route their internet traffic through a server in a different location. By connecting to a proxy server in a region where SiriusXM is available, users can access the service as if they were located in that specific area.
It's important to note that while these methods may help users bypass geo-blocking restrictions on SiriusXM, they may violate the service's terms of use. Users should proceed with caution and be aware of the potential risks involved in circumventing geo-blocking measures.
Listening to SiriusXM outside US
Listening to SiriusXM Outside the US: How to Tune In
SiriusXM is a popular satellite radio service known for its diverse range of music, talk shows, news, and sports coverage. However, if you're outside the United States, accessing SiriusXM can be a bit tricky due to geo-restrictions. Fortunately, there are ways to tune in to SiriusXM even if you're not within its primary broadcasting range.
One option is to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service. A VPN can mask your IP address and make it appear as though you're connecting from within the US, allowing you to access SiriusXM's online streaming platform. Simply choose a VPN provider with servers in the US, connect to one of those servers, and then visit the SiriusXM website or use their app to start listening.
Another option is to use a satellite radio receiver that's compatible with SiriusXM. While this method may require a bit more investment upfront, it can provide a reliable way to access SiriusXM's content from anywhere in the world. Look for satellite radio receivers that support international usage and subscribe to SiriusXM's service to start enjoying their programming.
Additionally, some streaming platforms and internet radio services offer channels that rebroadcast SiriusXM's content. While these channels may not offer the full range of SiriusXM programming, they can still provide access to some of its most popular shows and stations.
In conclusion, while accessing SiriusXM outside the US may require some workaround, it's certainly possible with the right tools and services. Whether you choose to use a VPN, a satellite radio receiver, or alternative streaming platforms, you can still enjoy SiriusXM's content from virtually anywhere in the world.
VPN compatibility with SiriusXM
SiriusXM is a popular American satellite radio service, offering a wide range of music, news, sports, and entertainment channels to its subscribers. Many individuals who value their online privacy and security choose to use Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to encrypt their internet connection and ensure their anonymity while browsing the web. However, when it comes to using VPNs with SiriusXM, there are some compatibility considerations to keep in mind.
Some VPN providers may block access to streaming services like SiriusXM due to licensing restrictions or terms of service. Therefore, it is essential to choose a VPN service that explicitly supports streaming music platforms such as SiriusXM. Before subscribing to a VPN, make sure to check if the provider has servers optimized for streaming and if they specifically mention compatibility with SiriusXM.
Another factor to consider is the location of the VPN server. SiriusXM content is often geo-restricted, meaning that certain channels or shows may only be available in specific regions. By connecting to a VPN server in a location where the desired SiriusXM content is accessible, users can bypass these restrictions and enjoy their favorite music and programs from anywhere in the world.
Overall, VPN compatibility with SiriusXM is possible, but it requires choosing the right VPN provider and server location to ensure seamless streaming experience. By doing some research and selecting a VPN service that meets the necessary criteria, users can enjoy the benefits of both online privacy and access to their favorite SiriusXM content without any limitations.
