Mao Mao Secret Halloween Event
Hey, Mao Mao fans!
I'm very excited to announce that I'll be hosting the first ever Mao Mao Secret Halloween event!
What's Secret Halloween, you ask? It's like Secret Santa, but with a spooky theme instead. You will be exchanging gifts to one another anonymously!
Of course, there are very important rules attached to this. PLEASE read this whole thing before submitting your wishlist in the comments, and please reblog if you wish! The more the merrier!
1. This is the most important thing: Do not tell ANYONE who you're making a gift for. Nobody is supposed to know until your submission is complete and posted! If you have any personal issues with who you get, please message me.
2. You need to fill out the wishlist COMPLETELY in order to be registered into the entry list. Please provide details and links to character references, specific poses, etc. Whatever will help the artist/writer understand what you want!
3. You cannot make changes to your wishlist once the entries close, which will be September 28th. Message me if you need to change something before then.
4. If you are going to enter this event, PLEASE be mindful that you need to have your entry submitted before or on October 31st. If you know you're going to be busy on the day of Halloween, which is highly possible, please upload it beforehand.
5. Put in as much effort into your gift as you can! Everyone's style and skill is different, but we can tell what's rushed and what isn't. DO NOT submit traced or stolen artwork. It cannot be drawn over official artwork, either. If you are a writer, please try to write at LEAST 500 words! Nobody wants only a paragraph of their request, it needs to have effort as well.
6. Everybody will be paired at random, but artists and writers will be in their own categories. That way, an artist will give and receive artwork, while a writer will give and receive a oneshot/short story. I do this because it seems the most fair to participants. If you have any complaints about the gift you receive, please message me privately.
7. PLEASE tag me in your entry so I know you did it! And of course, tag the person you're giving the gift to so they can see their request and know who they got their gift from!
8. OCs are allowed, as well as pairings ( Canon/Canon or OC/Canon ). But two things to keep in mind: It all must be Halloween related, so please don't try to make it all about romance. Also, if you use an OC, please describe them as much as you can, so the receiver can capture their personality.
9. Have fun and treat everyone with respect! Also, please be aware that this is my first time hosting an event like this, and I'm only one person with college and other real life events occurring at the same time. If I make any mistakes, please correct me. If you're still confused about how any of this works, feel free to message me and I'll do my best to answer any of your questions.

Here’s my Mao Mao Secret Halloween submission! (Event hosted by @maomaosmother !) I was paired with ✨ @marshmelon09 !✨I hope you enjoy this piece, it was a lot of fun and also gave me a lil practice. Franken-Pinky is a little gremlin and he popped out of the bushes and scared the shit out of the hero trio. Either he has no concept of death or no fear of death. Maybe both.

Hello all,
I want to talk ( hopefully one last time ) about the Secret Halloween event.
I know a few of you haven't gotten your requests yet, and I understand being frustrated about it. But I want you to know I'm doing my best to get them to you as soon as possible.
I'm checking in frequently with those who haven't finished and I've been asking about it. To those of you who aren't finished, I'm not mad, I promise. I just am hoping for them to be done as soon as you can get them finished. As the host of the event, the frustration gets thrown onto me.
I don't want anybody thinking they're going to get screwed over. I know what that's like, and so I don't want to stop focusing on it until every single request has been done. I promise I'm not gonna forget anyone.
I want to also thank those that have stepped in to help me when some people have dropped out of the event. I really hope that won't happen in the Secret Santa event.
Thank you for being so patient and I hope you understand.

Just one more update for my Secret Halloween participants!
I've already had a few people say they need more time, so if you don't get your request before tonight, don't worry! I won't be letting anyone go through this event empty handed. Everyone will get theirs!
Also, I've had two people drop out of this event and I've luckily found others to help out. But to make sure this doesn't happen again, PLEASE think about your time and health before you sign up for my Secret Santa event. Those are very important.
I'll be opening sign ups tonight, there will be a separate post about it ( like the Halloween one ). And make sure to read ALL the rules and guidelines!

Hey everyone! Just an announcement to my Secret Halloween participants real quick:
You are allowed to upload your entries at ANY time this month! You don't have to wait until specifically October 31st. I've been getting that question frequently so I thought I'd address it ;
I'll also be posting about the start of a Mao Mao Secret Santa event on November 1st, so stay tuned for that as well!
I hope that the Secret Halloween event is going well for all of you and most importantly, I hope you're having fun!

Hey, Mao Mao Secret Halloween Participants!
October 31st is in 2 days, and there's still a good handful of you that haven't finished or contacted me about needing more time ;
Don't be afraid to tell me that you need more time to complete your gift! We can work it out. But I just need to make sure everyone gets their gift so it's completely fair.
Mao Mao Secret Santa sign ups start Friday, so if you want to join that, I'd definitely recommend finishing your Halloween ones first.
