Haven't posted here in a while, but I made these MegaMan Battle Network acrylic standees with a grid base so you can move them around. Got MegaMan, Mettaur, and some other viruses. I'm planning to make more through my Kickstarter - so if you're interested in one, check it out! Or share this post around!
I've been playing the battle network legacy collection because I've real fond memories of MMBN3 as a kid and I had never played any of the previous or subsequent titles before.
having now played through the first two games and being on 3 again (white version), I feel like there's a huge gap in quality. one and two have incredibly confusing maps, some of the puzzles are just "walk along the invisible stage until you find the invisible pathway" or "walk between three areas repeatedly for two hours", with very weak story beats if there are any at all aside from the main plot.
MMBN3 has some of the most emotional sub plots, and they're all connected to the main plot, none of the fetch quests feel too demanding time wise because they're usually not too far apart distance wise or you can usually use shortcuts to get where you want to go. I've fucking cried several times playing this children's game and I'm not even finished with it yet!
I have high hopes for the rest of the series, but I'm nervous about MMBN4 because I've not seen great things about it, and coming off of the absolute gut wrencher that is 3 will be a tough act to follow...
we'll see what the future holds, and in the meantime, I'll be making a NetBattler's character for funsies and see if I can convince some folks to play the fan made ttrpg with me.
Japanese videogame developers (or rather, the people writing stories for those videogames) did a lot of... let's call it "daring" things, all just in time for the September 11th attacks.
Sonic Team/SEGA made Sonic Adventure 2, where Sonic blows shit up in a military base and Eggman pisses on the moon *AHEM* Sorry... He destroys half of the moon on live TV.
Capcom made (and Nintendo released) the 1st Mega Man Battle Network title, where an alternate version of Dr Wily founds and leads what is pretty much a PG-rated cyber-terrorist organisation. A few months later, the 2nd game has some WWW wannabes doing the same, but this time, at least one bad guy is killed by his own boss for his failure and another bad guy literally tries to hijack a plane (I know Battle Network 2 came out after 9/11, but I'm including it here anyway since its development probably started shortly before the attack).
And Hideo Kojima and Konami made Metal Gear Solid 2, where... Well, I don't feel like describing the entire plot of the game here.
Everyone talks about how Kojima was on some f***ing drugs and became a prophet, but I feel like something was going on in the minds of everyone in the Japanese videogame industry since at least the last few months of 2000.
New year new lets play lets start the year off with a new megaman battle network lets play with mmbn2, we beated WWW and now get to enjoy our summer with summer fun filled with camping, beach and even some terrorism and world saving adventure.
Battle network 2 is so funny. No mega chips means you can run 5 fucking fullcust *. fullcust is only 8mb capacity so you can make it your default chip basically no matter how many Regular Memory Ups you've found. Stack that with one of the most insane program advances in any battle network game (gater) and like. You can build insane super fast instant win folders.
Gospel going off about how insane the supernavi is and you just have to go
We unlocked Roll.EXE!! Roll.EXE Standees are available as an add-on to any reward - backers of the highest two tiers will receive one for FREE! There's also brand new stretch goal to reach, so check out the campaign and share it around!
So...after a whole decade for the first time ever I finally 100% Battle Network 2, granted I still have the PAs to go but the game is pretty much complete.
Feels pretty satisfying to complete the library and obtain Hub Style legitimally, great game.
