When you mix colored droplets in corn syrup, they seem to blend together. But if you reverse the mixing direction, they go back to their original state. This is because of a type of smooth flow called “Stokes flow”.

Getting acquainted with new art supplies is always a good idea. Test colors, mix them, try them on different surfaces. For homework in #saillustration2 we had some #watercolorwarmupexercises We had to create #colorwheels - one #warmcolors and the other #coolcolors I was supposed to do this for another class, but skipped it because I was too excited to create, so I made sure I actually did it this time and I did learn a lot about #mixingcolors and using tube paints vs. pan paints. We also did some techniques. What is your favorite color to add into the mix when you paint? For me it’s pink. I use many variations of it stand alone but this color is truly surprising when mixed with other colors. Take yellow green for instance, just a touch of pink turns it into a lovely olive, or olive green to a sunny shade if brown.
