The picture above immediately makes apparent what a truly stupid idea the Game Gear Micro is. I say that with no small amount of sadness: the Game Gear was the first console I ever owned, and I still have fond memories of it.

The Game Gear Micro looks like it’s been designed with one goal in mind: to overwrite those happy memories with ones abject rage as I squint at a screen so tiny I’ll barely be able to see Sonic, let alone the rings I’m trying to collect.

@RobotsPlayingGames 🤖💜🕹️ Talking more about the PlayStation Classic, here is how it looks. It's 45% smaller than the original PS1 so it's the same size of its controller. It comes with 2. I'm a big fan of official mini consoles. If I could I'd have all of them! My favorites are: Sega Mega Drive Mini and CoreGrafx Mini. They look good, games selection are great and work pretty well. Both show how much care were put in them. That's not the PSC case. It's probably the worse mini. Bad emulation, poor interface and a questionable games selection. Most games don't run at full speed. It's awful. It was $100, reviews were bad, many people cancelled pre-orders etc so it didn't sell well and its price dropped, getting to $15 and even $12. I got 2! The 2 original-style usb controllers alone are worth more than that. Everything changes if you mod it. PS1 games run better along with dozens retro systems. Playing old consoles on a modern TV with no adapters, special cables or accessories is great. I've been playing my GB, GB and GBA games on my TV and, although it's cool to play on original hardware (GC+GBP+GBI), everything plays better on my modded PSC. I've posted videos comparing both setups. Some good points: it looks awesome and cute, controllers feel like original ones, it's plug and play, digital with HDMI output. So yeah, I'd recommend it if you find it cheap, specially if you plan to mod it. Do you own a PSC or other Minis?
