I think about it a lot but there's something really really beautiful about the Minecraft soundtrack.
You're in this world where you can do whatever you want, but instead of having adventure music or rpg tunes you get these.. beautiful notes of pianos and all sorts of music that just fills my soul. I've been listening to it for over a decade, and C418 has been my top Spotify artist for 3 years, but I still don't get tired of it.
Volumes Alpha and Beta are examples of genuinely perfect video game osts that bring me unending peace to the point where I went through a period of being unable to sleep unless it was playing.
It's absolutely fantastic and the knowledge that there's a third album out there that just can't be released harms me on a spiritual level.
I've wept over not being able to hear it a few times.
When it comes down to it, Minecraft's original soundtrack coupled with the original gameplay around the Xbox 360/Ps3 edition time period is one of my greatest sources of nostalgia.
This music, and game, has changed my life for the better and I don't see it get enough praise.

It’s a shifting library but better! All the books here are written by shifters. There’s different sections for world building, storytimes, quizzes, fanfics (of other ppls DRs), tips & methods, nsfw storytimes (adults only plz), philosophy related to shifting, and discussions about shifting (idk why I didn’t just merge discussions with philosophy..). Don’t be surprised if some or most of the shifters here aren’t human! I scripted that all non malevont beings that shift can come here; this does also mean that the books are automatically translated into the language you understand best. Oh and the authors aren’t always going to be human.
Love and Deepspace DR
My script for this one is pretty much complete, but I really want to know more about MC’s evol before shifting here 😭
Mental Health DR
I won’t talk about this DR at all on TikTok or on here (sorry) bc it’s super personal and I don’t want to seem like a damn baby 😭😭. I’m actually kind of scared of men irl, plus I didn’t have the best high school experience in my DR. My goal with this DR is to practice talking to people and get over my fear of men. This DR is my first ever DR; my original intent with shifting is to help get over my fear of men + people in general, especially taller people
Waiting Room
My waiting room is essentially an isekai manhwa mansion 😭😭 I scripted that there’s a serving cart with one of those 3 tiered afternoon snack things + milk tea, the milk tea has special properties that calm me down immediately when I drink it. My goal is to use the smell of the tea to know that I’ve shifted, and to drink the tea so I don’t fuck myself over and shift back to my OR 😭😭

i know i already posted this but, i finished and the ending is important.
so the first paragraph is biography. second is the good things hes already done and the third is what he can do better...i hope im not judge by what i finished with.
Wilbur Soot is an english musician and Minecraft Youtuber/Streamer. Popular for his part in the “Dream smp” and his position in the indie rock band “Lovejoy”, With 1,622,433 Followers and 1,212,540 monthly listeners on spotify. But before that, he had his own channel of music, was a former member of a channel called “Soot House”, and is the creator of the infamous “Editor Wilbur ARG”. It was Wilbur's presence as Lead editor and Co-Founder in 2017 in the comedy channel “Soot House” that began his rise to fame. His music career started in 2018, writing comedy songs, his first EP in 2019 being 13 minutes (four tracks/songs) long called “Maybe I was Boring”.
The most impactful thing(s) Wilbur has done, would be in my opinion, His release of “Your City Gave Me Asthma” and supporting and creating several Fundraisers for multiple occasions and events. The main Fundraisers would be Stand Up To Cancer, The Sarcoma Foundation of America, and The WilburSoot Pride Fundraiser. These fundraisers are now over, having been able to successfully raise and distribute the money to those in need. “Jubilee Line” from the album “Your City Gave Me Asthma” is about all the pollution in the London underground transit system and how many take their lives and are ignored by the many commuters. He said in a Twitch stream once, “after experiencing people take their lives on the London underground only to receive disgruntled groans by commuters who will now be late for whatever it is they’re going to, one becomes quite jaded to the human condition in general. I guess this last line was me putting blame on the city rather than those commuters or the poor people who committed suicide.”
For things he can do better, is just be himself. I feel like he has provided enough and to want more from someone like himself, it would be selfish. He already makes so many people smile, his music makes so many people happy, he’s donated to so many causes, why would we ask for more? We know nothing of how fame affects him, of how he feels… and by not asking more, we are respecting him. Grade me what you may, but I stand by what I believe.

Last Movie/TV: The Wilds. one of those cancelled lesbian shows. unfortunate. it's not as good as Yellowjackets though. i think they spend too much time on everyone's backstories but they're honestly not that complex like half of season 1 is leah having a breakdown over that guy and they want to be like leah is an obsessive person but they only show the one thing like. her other obsessions are so much more interesting i don't care about mr pedophile writer guy i literally do not care. let her go insane she deserves it for being bisexual. the last movie is possibly blue beetle which was alright for an airplane movie, wish i could pause it though. why tf is it a channel? who put live channels on planes? who did that? you deserve SUFFERING. also, while i was writing this i realized i actually later watched the new percy jackson episode with my sister so that actually but i don't remember anything from the books and unfortunately the show is clearly directed towards the same age range as the original series and it's like. good for what it is but selfishly i wish it was cooler for me specifically. rick riordan is cool though

Current Obsession: i think my depression is currently bad enough to prevent me from a single obsession currently. i searched the wilds on tumblr a couple times but it's like 90% people complaining about canceled wlw shows bc tumblr search is unusable. i wouldn't call it anything close to an obsession though, it just happens to be what i'm currently binging. most recently though - poppy seed pets. also rewatched a couple community episodes. such a good show my god. wish alison brie was asian. also i have been thinking about tattoos a lot. specifically my new one which was my first. got with friends. very cute (: further i am going to be so abnormal about the boys s4. i don't have a kin list but i'm starting one rn putting jordan li at the top. minecraft character bdoubleo100 second. king from the owl house third. not for size reason we just both get disrespected. taking recommendations for additions that aren't a random small animal you saw on instagram - please keep in mind that i am 7'4" in real life and extremely intimidating. i am also considering adding nora from the wilds (autistic) and abed community (autistic) and todd sanchez bojack horseman (aspec but actually we're not that similar. i think i am just thinking about him. what a lad.) and perhaps. asian lesbian from scream queens because i too think chanel no. 3 is hot. actually every character from community except pierce is relateable. also generally any character that is "bad" representation of a minority group and knows it but i haven't seen much of that kind of character. they should make more of them for the bitches like me who are simultaneously whitewashed and a stereotype

Ooooh boy, today, this week, the past few months, the last several years…. It’s not been peak y’all. Not peak at all.
But. BUT. I have listens…. Check it -
This album was everything back in my 20s. The closest friend who in turn ended up introducing me to Chris brought this into my life… let’s just stay today has been a musical journey while it poured rain and ‘tunda’ on middle tennessee… we haven’t had rain in so long, the grass is dying, my flowers despite watering 2 x a day are struggling, my saplings have needed daily drippage, it’s been DRY, also, no matter what the weather channel says, it’s been > 100 for 3 weeks, with ‘feels like’ 110 and higher - so I’m not complaining, I just didn’t go on a hike.
We made cherry turnovers, butterfly art, and owned Minecraft -
We have a burn ban. We have brown foliage. We have humidity of > 70%. Welcome to the dirty, dirty south 🤘
Before I’m interrupted. Here’s the nitty gritty -
I did hit that extra 20, I assume the scale was predicting the future. Before I get neggy here, I just want to add, this has been what it is. I am not negative with myself. I’m not mad. I can’t deny a little disappointed that I gained 20 of the 70 I lost back, it wasn’t the 70 though, and I’m still down to clown. Workouts are non existent aside from some stollen made up mat time of my own for maybe 20 minutes, a mile or 2 walk at work on the days I’m there, sometimes weights, more likely not. I’ve continued 16/8 fasting and have extended to a couple 48 hour fasts and it really does do wonders for my hectic mind. I only push for it if I’m not hungry, and it’s not a FULL fast because I will have my collagen and kombucha. It is just, something I’m trying to maintain and not be detrimental to my mental here and now - it’s not like we don’t have a heap of other bs on our heads.
Mom.
Her ct showed positive movement of her tumors. - I didn’t realize that was plural until recently, so while we are ahead at this point, the war is waging. And I say that not to be over dramatic, it’s just, I have to not be mopped with small wins and no victory, and it’s been a rollercoaster, and I’m swamped with just, grief. It’s grief, sitting with our necks on a chopping block, waiting for it to drop, and no one tells you this. That every visit is an anxiety laden heart attack. That each treatment and lab draw is a potential harbinger, and it’s fucking a Hoover to my soul, it’s an emotional leech on my folks, it’s exhausting. We tally ho of course, and I have this intense guilt for my feelings when it’s happening around me and not TO ME, it’s epically hard though. It’s hard. All of it.
Dad.
He’s hitting the ground running. His treatments for the myeloma have been great. The oncologists have gotten together and they can do Oral hormone therapy for his relapsed prostate cancer, then switch to pills for his multiple myeloma in the coming months as well. Positive on that front.
The summer programs with Jamis have been a hit. He has had a blast playing with cousins, doing ‘science’ and he is thrilled for legos this coming week. Best decision ever - also, not having to deal with the day to day dramedy that is my in-laws feels like we’ve had a damn colonic - the total crap of their instability and inconsistency is GONE, and hubs not having the day in and out with them has boosted his mood so far it’s stratospheric at this point. It’s as if I’m married to another man. His parents baggage was so heavy, not having them insert themselves 20 times a day for diet, questions about shows to watch, bathing suits, sun block, random ‘he doesn’t want to do x’ it’s been a breeze y’all. Easy breezy beautiful cover girl over here with excommunicado in-laws.
My SIL and bro are out the outskirts too as they’ve contracted Covid again, for the third time. Even though it’s apparently not real and a conspiracy. Just made the 4th easier. With the burn ban, we did paper lanterns that burn out in the atmosphere and are biodegradable-
The rest is history. We are all chugging along. Work has been so incredible. My current working with team has been elevated, and turns out I WILL be getting what I previously had; work from home day, procedure day, and position increase to lead NP. So, I followed my gut, and it worked out. Honestly that restored some of my distrust in humanity and Karma. Always a good thing.

My Spotify Wrapped is only a major upset bc Chris Remo was my number one artist :/ Like I honestly expected another year of Wintory with the number of times that I’ve listened to Road of Trials (which didn’t even show up on my top five songs), but I suppose I listen to the Firewatch OST enough? Also the only reason F’yoso Aj’o or however it’s spelled was in my top five was because I listened to it so much to work on the arrangement. Which I’m not even planning to submit honestly. Persona 5 as a top album? Makes sense. The Crane Wives as a top artist? Sure (though I also listened to a lot of... no. I’ll do my annual music post in a few weeks to set the record straight myself). C418 as a top artist? Fine (Minecraft music is calming, alright!). Austin Wintory was in my top 5, but he was third :/ Honestly if anyone else they listed was at the top other than Chris Remo (but not C418 oh my god) I think I would’ve been okay.
I-- okay. It’s not that Chris Remo is a poor composer, obviously, I enjoy listening to his music (while doing other things mostly). It’s just that he’s not even my favorite of the people I’ve listened to this year. Just a wee disappointing. And anyway, WHO IS LISTENING TO THAT MAN MORE THAN ME??? Of his 158k listeners, I was only in the top 0.05%???? My photo-friend was in the top 0.005% of Red Velvet listeners (his listening time for just them was over 2/3 of my total listening time :/) WITH FIVE AND A HALF MILLION LISTENERS (it does make sense, I don’t think I ever saw that man listen to any other artist thing whole year whenever i felt like spotify-snooping).
Somehow I managed to not have any classes on the first day of next semester. That’s new. My schedule blocks make me look like I’m a humanities major.
Anyway there’s a lot to do tonight uhm (finishing two more applications, exam tomorrow, discussion board, peer reviews to do). UGH. I rested over break but at what cost. And then two of my recommenders still haven’t submitted their recs for the ones due tomorrow. Now, I am very aware of how academics like to work. They toe the line of acceptable timing. My current PI has admitted to editing conference presentations minutes before he has to go. But boy howdy does it make me nervous (in all fairness, I haven’t submitted the application yet, so like I get it).
Today I’m thankful once again for one-class days. I’m thankful for the conversation I got to have today with a fellow senior anthropology major. Chatting is nice :)

The Beatles Red and Blue albums are the 2023 remixed and expanded versions, not the 2010 remasters with practically the exact same packaging.
The Bad 25 case has been jammed since I got it in 2019, so despite it having a bonus disc inside, I've only ever been able to use the first disc. Yeah, that's nice.
I do have the slipcover on Echoes in a drawer, but not on the case because the case is kind of busted and can't fit it.
The tiny replacement case is for Running with Scissors by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
I don't actually have Rio or Surf's Up (at least not the discs anymore) but I'm using them as replacement cases for the Snow White 2001 cases, since that case wasn't in great shape. Prepare to see something like that a lot.
The Tangled DVD case has disc 1 of the Atlantis DVD due to a bad disc holder in that case (disc 2 isn't too bad though)
The copy of Iron Man on the third shelf was one I bought from a record store in 2020 that somehow didn't have the bonus Blu-Ray, but instead a DVD copy, and for some reason I didn't think to get a refund (it was the same visit actually when I got Echoes and its bad case).
I put the discs for the Steven Universe box set in those four clear cases due to how bad the sleeves were. However, I also keep the original Season 1 DVD there (which I got a couple years earlier in 2018) because the identical S1 discs in that specific box set might have been particularly ruined. (Now do you see why I want disc sleeves in box sets banned?)
I do have Angry Birds Toons S2, Vol. 1 on DVD, but due to, wait for it, another bad case, I have the disc in the Lion King 2011 Blu-Ray case, which conveniently was missing the DVD. (Same story actually for Finding Dory as I moved my Kirby's Dream Collection case into there from a bad GameStop case, although nowadays at least it's backed up through USB Loader GX.)
The Star Trek Compendium steelbook version on the 2nd shelf (which was also from that visit to that record store that I swear was way better than I'm making it out to be) was such a nightmare packaging-wise that I just ordered the case version of it.
The version of Star Trek Beyond I have is the Target 2-disc Blu-Ray, with the DVD thrown into the Snow White 2001 case.
The Cartoon Saloon box set's weird disc holders were bad (especially for Song of the Sea, which had to spend a few days after Christmas '21 in an empty Wii U case) so I have those 4 discs in a plain case.
The Arrested Development S1 DVD I bought in 2023 had a broken disc spindle, so the 3 discs are spread across an empty Minecraft Xbox case, a LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens PS4 case, and the actual case.
I also have a VERY old DVD of Batman (1989) via a Wii copy of LEGI Batman: The Videogame.
Ftr, I still haven't mentioned that I'll probably need replacement cases, for varying reasons, for Encanto, A Bug's Life, every 2018-present Pixar movie with 2 Blu-Ray discs, MCU Phase 3b (and 3a if I ever get that in 4K), Holy Grail Extraordinarily Deluxe edition, SpongeBob 100 Episodes, and especially del Toro's Pinocchio.
Tl;dr: my tastes might be a bit limited and weird and apparently making a reliable case is 100 times harder than you think. Viva La Disque!

Jubilee Line: Mental Health in a Polluted Society
TW: Discussion of mental health and suicide.
When I started my on-site classes I moved from a small rural commune to the big city and went from a house with a green garden and fresh air to a small flat with a dirty balcony and so much pollution that it was tiring to walk to the supermarket. It was hard, no doubt, to lose some of that childlike wonder for the big city. To see that behind all the brightness and the people there is a lot of noise, a lot of grime, and a lot of pessimism.
One afternoon, while travelling on the tube, the carriage comes to a sudden halt. The emergency lights are the only thing illuminating all of us inside as the driver informs us that there was an emergency power cut because someone was on the tracks. I had heard of this happening in Santiago, but I thought it was an isolated event and something that would worry everyone. Instead, I find that it’s a disturbingly common event and that most of the people in the carriage couldn’t care less. With complaints that they would be late for something or snorts of frustration, the fact that someone ended their life on the very tracks we were travelling on seemed no more than an inconvenience.
Mental health is a tricky issue to tackle in Chile. According to the Chilean Security Association and the UC Centre, one in ten Chileans is undergoing some form of mental health treatment. Against that, we are the fourth country in Latin America with the highest suicide rate; and it is something we see every day, from the blue tents in the Costanera Center to situations in the tube like the one described above.
And what about the rates during the COVID pandemic? The quarantine and stressful situation put pressure on even the most resilient, and amidst all this mess of anxiety and panic attacks came an album that not only perfectly encapsulated the essence of capital cities and their pessimism, but also how they deal with mental health issues.
“Your City Gave Me Asthma” (YCGMA) is the debut album - though he had earlier songs like “I’m Love With an E-Girl” and “Internet Ruined Me” - by Wilbur Soot, an English Twitch streamer who had lately gained popularity with a Minecraft series and his interactions with other streamers on the platform.
Wilbur, up to this point, had devoted himself to satirical songs mocking stereotypes on the internet. And while his audience already had suspicions that the man was dealing with mental health issues, this album confirmed it and in the process related his views on romantic relationships, his deep hatred of London and its pollution, and suicides.
Although the whole album is a marvel - Soot may not have the voice of an angel, but his skill with the acoustic guitar and the casualness with which he sings give his songs a real feel - this time I will focus on the first song on the album: “Jubilee Line”.
“Jubilee Line” is named after a line on the London Underground and is a critique of the city’s pollution and the problem with suicides in the city. Soot explains that during his time in London, he developed a chronic cough that evolved into signs of initial asthma from the smog; a situation that would give the album its name. Along with this, people’s indifference and annoyance at suicide on the underground lines surprised him.
“Jubilee Line, I’ve said about before, is just a song about how, like, when you’re in London and anywhere that uses a big mass transit public transportation system. There’s um, there’s quite a big suicide problem. […] So, the London underground thing is, like, the third highest, uh, cause of suicide. I think it’s after Golden Gate Bridge and like, the forest in Japan at the foot of Mount Fiji. […] So "Jubilee Line” is about how- when someone does take their life on the underground and on the tube network, it’s like almost the only response that commuters and random people will give is, [annoyed groan]. Like, it’s crazy to me. That feels so disconnected from humanity. Disconnect from the human experience that when you find out that someone can’t go on any longer, the only response these people have waiting for their train on the platform is, “Ugh! I’m gonna be late.” […] That hit me in London.“

This is reflected in the song’s lyrics. Verses like ”Wasting your time/You’re wasting mine" speak to this notion that the act of suicide on the tracks is a waste of everyone’s time; “Shout at the wall/‘Cause the walls don’t fucking love you” is about the suicidal person’s cry for help, but even the walls don’t seem to take pity; “There’s a reason/That London puts barriers on the tube line” criticising London’s decision to put barriers on tube lines that only open when the carriage arrives as a solution to stop suicides instead of improving the mental health of the population; and “There’s a reason they fail” referring to these barriers and how they sometimes fail and so people still manage to throw themselves on the railway, giving a melancholic and frustrating ending to the song.
This kind of situation is not confined to London. Santiago suffers the same problems, though perhaps not on the same scale, and made the same decisions. Line 6 of the Santiago underground has barriers on the platform, and the stairs of the Costanera Center have glass barriers, and yet tragedies occur in these places.
Soot makes an incredible commentary on mental health and the negligence of authorities and society, but it doesn’t stop there. Other songs on the album touch on his hypochondriac diagnosis, his disastrous love relationships, and the melancholy of leaving a city that, although it damaged him, was his place of residence for years. It is an incredible piece of music that I invite you to listen to and reflect on the current situation of mental health in the country.
Furthermore, this album has an important value to me because Soot would later explain that he no longer felt represented by most of the songs on YCGMA (except Saline Solution) and that this album was now the property of his fans. That we could interpret the songs however we wanted, and he was happy to know that his lyrics had resonated with so many people.
It is a comfort to walk through the streets of Santiago with this album playing in my headphones and to know that out there there are more people living in polluted, pessimistic cities with worrying mortality rates, but that we all notice these problems and try to improve them day by day. And that maybe one day, just like Wilbur Soot did, I can move to a city that doesn’t give me asthma.
