Can the Canon RF 135mm Reproduce the Magic the Old Lens Did?
One can only dream, right?
We’re streaming daily on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, and Spotify! If we take a moment to consider some of Canon’s best lenses, lots of films will cite the Canon 135mm f2 L. No matter how far behind it was on resolving their sensors, that lens was magic. It was very difficult to take a bad photo with that lens. Arguably other, third-party options leaped ahead of it.…

Meeting with Avenio - The Request
Avenio Naemig spoke in a timbre of habitual calm, though it was clear from the notes of warmth in it that he was pleased, "Ah, Jancis.  I've finally found you."  The man smiled as she turned, and was for perhaps one of the few times she has seen him, not bedecked head to toe in steel encasing.  His dusty travel clothes appeared well-worn, but not uncared for, "Are you well?" Jancis Milburga looked up from her pondering, shoes clapping lightly on the stonework that wasn't overgrown. Her eyes took in all of Avenio, the surprise and then welcome smile growing as she reached hsi face. "Sir Avenio. Althyk's Joy." She repeats his words quietly 'finally found' and steps closer. "I was taking a walk. I. I am well. Safe. Busy I have been busy. It is good to see you." She tried to see if there were changes beyond the armor. "Muffin is well." Avenio Naemig offered her a quick grin as she approached, and her comment ellicited a soft but genuine chuckle, "How comforting.  I've been... busy, as well.  Not exactly 'safe', but... well, that would be boring."  He gave a surly little shrug and an apologetic smirk, "But I've been well, besides.  And as always confounded by the nature of men." Avenio Naemig: "If you hadn't guessed, I had indeed come to find you.  I knew you frequented the area, but couldn't find any property listings.  I'm afraid I may be in need of your aid again." Jancis Milburga slid her hands up her arms to cross them lightly, "There are more good-natured than not. Quietier and harder to notice. Some boring is nice." She stressed -boring- with a smile before her brow furrowed, "In need of. What is it?" Against she checked over him with her gaze in a nurse-like curiousity. Jancis Milburga: "Does anything hurt? Would you like to sit somewhere and talk? There are many benches about. Or somewhere specific." You give Avenio Naemig a big hug. Jancis Milburga slid her hands up her arms to cross them lightly, "There are more good-natured than not. Or somewhere specific."
Avenio Naemig couldn't help but chuckle again as she seemed suddenly worried for his immediate health.  He made a soothing motion with one gloved hand, patting the air placatingly, "I'm in fine fettle as ever, slake your worry, my friend.  There are some things I must tell you, and a choice you must make.  But, aye, perhaps somewhere quiet to sit would be welcome.  Do you.... live nearby?  There's also a nice view of the water down there, yes?" Jancis Milburga looks westward. "I do. I have stayed in the house there for many moons. When I am not traveling and being boring." She took up the term as a fond joke. "You can see the water well from the edge there, almost like the ocean. Come let me show you." Her hand reached out and brushes over the top of his before leading the way.
Avenio Naemig followed her out over the bridge, where a light mist could be felt on the breeze, and stopped.  He gazed out over the water, his pale azure gaze tinging grey compared to the casual wrath of the nearby falls.  The man looked unchanged for the most part, his demeanor resolute and stoic as always.  Though he carried no visible weapon, he walked - as always - with the confident step of a mercenary unafraid to trod where he pleased. He took in a long breath, casting a gaze over his shoulder. Avenio Naemig: "There is much I should tell you, since I value your friendship.  I hate to come only when I need your aid, but trust is something I find in hard supply, these days."  He hesitated only briefly before beginning again, "Do you remember a few moons ago, the ... seedy business that started out in Mor Dhona?  How much of that nightmare do you remember?" Jancis Milburga looked out on the waterfall that at first was loud, the sound becoming more familiar until it was a soft noise in the background that gave its own kind of surrounding quiet. A quiet that could not travel far. "I remember." She started, slowly reflecting back.
Jancis Milburga: "I remember a city. With tall buildings and stone streets. There were illusions that wanted revenge. Dark magicks. You were wounded. We were split up. I. A courtyard. A church." Jancis Milburga brings her hand up to her face, feeling her own breath as she pulled up the fractured memories of the subconscious world. "You were wounded and protective. The others. Many others. We followed through a narrow alley. There was something important. Thaliak..."
Avenio Naemig nodded once, pausing before going on.  Like that night, the past continued to find a way to re-assert itself.  "Aye, that's The Landing, alright.  Or what was left of it, in my mind.  An impressive recollection of detail, in particular.  Well, it exists.  Or... some cruel joke in its place.  Before the Calamity, it was a town.  My hometown: Nauphica's Landing.  Just a tiny quarry village on the borders of Gyr Albania.  Then war came, and with it ruin." Avenio Naemig: "I was only eighteen at the end of the Era.  When Bahamut chewed the earth, my village was destroyed.  Partially directly due to my own actions."  the highlander sighed, but went on, "The ensuing changes to the land made the village unaccessible by foot.  That, and the all-but-extinguished population ensured the city never even survived long enough to be mapped on the Garleans' rebuilding efforts." Jancis Milburga repeats "Nauphica's Landing" and looks over to listen to more than the words. She looked in disagreement to his assertion of fault, but dared not interrupt. "Then something of it remains beyond memories? And plagues you with darkness?" Avenio Naemig turned to her briefly, his cerulean eyes glazed over with memory passing before them, "Verily.  Thus it remained for years: a shell, existing only in parts and what you were forced to experience.  Up until recently.  I've found that a man who wants my head has set up shop there.  In what cannot be more than cruel fate, he's used the shell of the ruins to create a base of operations, smuggling any number of ilicit contraband from drugs to slaves and everything in between." Avenio Naemig turned his gaze away with frustration, clear distaste for the den of dishonesty, "With the help of some friends, I've already shut down several of these little... 'shops' he has going.  And it would seem I've now several reasons to return and settle The Landing to its grave once and for all." Jancis Milburga frowns deeply at the news of a 'shop'. She immediately agreed. "And dismantle this last base of pain. No matter where he places it, though it sounds he has done so intentionally to provoke you. It will fall the same as the one that took Caen. And I want you to be able to go to this place and see peace there. Some closure where graves grow grass and feed on new life." Jancis Milburga: "Where is it? I can gather supplies. I. I cannot scout it alone. I made promises to be more careful for the time being. But I can come with you and be at your back." Avenio Naemig turned again to look at her with a careful look of touched shock, "You know so little of the detail, yet you offer so willingly.  Aye, I could use your help.  The reconnaisance has been performed, and I've done a lot of preparation, which has led to... the actual infiltration."  He paused as his stony gaze softened, and he stared at her with an almost apologetic amount of worry behind his cerulean stare, "I agonized for a long time about asking you to come, for I knew you would not hesitate. Avenio Naemig: "But apart from the danger, I find there is no one else I'd rather have at my back in the thickest of things.  And perhaps having you there might dissuade me from taking stupid risks." Jancis Milburga: "I do not understand why that would make you wait. I know and trust you." Her focus stayed on him, watching the emotion on his face. "Though I do want to hear the details and be prepared. Avenio." She didn't give him a title, "You are far from stupid. There is hope you keep kindled for others. Gladly I return what you have given me to you." Jancis Milburga asks, "What do you wish to see this Landing as?" Avenio Naemig exhaled in relief and nodded to her, one hand working it's way to rub at the back of his neck as he replied, "Dead and buried, as it should be.  It shall live on it me, its only survivor.  But all else needs to end.  I have a plan in place to stop it.  With the help of some adventurers and the local law enforcement, we're to attack in two places at once.  The first, a small team will sneak within during the opportune time find as many of the leadership as possible." Avenio Naemig: "Second, the bulk of our forces and the Yellowjackets will assail the tunnels that have been constructed beneath the town which are being used to smuggle goods south of the Shroud.  They'll also be there to cut off any escape of our targets."
Jancis Milburga closed her eyes periodically, echoing silently his words to commit to memory. "You plan to be part of the first group? You mentioned trafficking before. How many there are unwilling or doing so under duress?" Avenio Naemig nodded, "I do, aye.  And my friend Berrod will be heading the latter team,"  he frowned at her latter quesiton, and shrugged gravely, "Unknown.  Dozens?  If not more.  Aye, some are there on payroll, some are indentured servants.  Others are in shackles.  Both willing and unwilling.  The depravity knows no bounds."  the man grimaced, "I should like to shield you from witnessing such horrors, were I not in such dire need of your help." Jancis Milburga looks a bit surprised and happy to hear Berrod's name, her expression fond and thoughtful at the mention of Armstrong. "That is why you hesitate. Little wonder that is what I remember most from that. That tangible dream. Ever protective." She looks at her hand again a moment. "I am sorry there are such horror. If you want me to help you focus, I will make it through the horror and you will be there to bolster me through it. I can even mend some of it. It will not all be loss." Jancis Milburga: "Be other survivors and reassurance that this man who. Who is a man no longer but a monster will not bring more. Not more to you. To anyone. Mostly not to you. Plants will grow and animals will graze." Avenio Naemig nodded again, his expression grateful, "Having you there would be a comfort.  And you're not to 'Dendo's "tastes" so he won't try to sully you with that... that -way- of his."  The man shuddered, but decided not to elaborate.  Given what she knew already, perhaps that was best, "And thank you.  There will be a chance to do much good that night besides the closure I'll get." Jancis Milburga lifted her hand to Avenio's sleeve at the shudder, her fingers silent on the fabric from the lack of callouses the healer maintained somehow. She squeezed supportively and waited, but no more came of this Dendo. "Much good." She repeated in agreement, accepting her ignorance as a boon to him. "The armor. And your hair. That has changed."
Avenio Naemig looked up again, startled briefly.  He grinned sheepishly, and raised a hand to run through the shaggy, shorn locks at the back of his head, "Ah, you noticed?  It had gotten too long, I think.  Easier to fight like this anyway."  He flashed her a quick grin, "The armour I still have.  It rests at home tonight.  It was Berrod who helped me realize I didn't need to wear it every day.  I have to admit my joints have thanked him." Jancis Milburga smiles in the respite of other weighing news that brought him. "I have trained with some. Thaliak only knows how people wear it as another skin. Can barely lift my feet and hands after a bell with it. I can see why Sir Armstrong would prefer without. He is a tactile man. If you see him again soon, please give him a fond greeting from me. Everytime I think of him, I smile. And it is good to see you, regardless of why." Jancis Milburga: "Thank you for finding me."
Avenio Naemig chuckled softly once more, and nodded, "I shall.  Don't let him fool you with his sour moods - he's really just a softie.  It was nice to see you again, Jancis.  I shall send word when I have a date for our incursion, yes?" Jancis Milburga: "Yes. Yes and I will be ready. Avenio, be safe. Even before that date. You can carry armor and others and protect everyone who has gotten close to you, let yourself be protected as well." Avenio Naemig offered a small, final smirk, and then nodded, "Verily.  Be well, Jancis.  I shall endeavor to stay in touch, I promise."  With that, the man gave a polite bow and headed up the walkway at an even, unhurried gait. Jancis Milburga waved, watching his departure.

De’bayle Debacle: Moving Beds
"This simply means that we will always be returning to one another, no matter how long we are separated for."
(Denz De'bayle) *As the pair had begun working on their room in the Spangledance, Denz's ideas and plans continued expanding and growing larger. Sometimes he was caught muttering over his breath, "If we were at the house, we could..." and so on. Sitting outside the Spangledance, Denz sat with his hands locked and pressed against his mouth, lost in his thoughts about the pair's future.* (Jancis Milburga) Jancis was returning home late. The evening has past and now it was true night. She was dressed warmly and hadn't come back the previous night, giving Denz all the space to move about furniture and ponder. When she finally arrived back at the Beds she found enough energy to speed up her pace to reach the stone arch she admired each time for surviving the elements and time. But there was an even better sight outside. (Jancis Milburga) "Denz Love!" (Denz De'bayle) *Denz's ears perked up, his hands dropping, one of them landing upon a wooden cup flanking his side on the bench. He smiles, standing politely for the hyur.* "My love." (Jancis Milburga) Her feet picked up more, petals that had landed on the ground now picked up in the wake of the hyur closing the distance to her elezen, laughing and wrapping her arms about his waist. "You are here." She squeezed him tightly. "It is so nice to see you." (Jancis Milburga) "Did my box arrive?" (Jancis Milburga) "Did all the snow melt away? Some of it was still snow when I managed to bottle it." (Denz De'bayle) *He grunted lightly as she embraced him, his arms falling over her arms carefully.* "Wait, that was snow?" *He looked at the cup next to him.* "I thought you sent me water to drink." (Jancis Milburga) "Oh! Forgive me!" Guilt immediately came over her face, shocked and disappointed at herself for forgetting about his injuries. Her hands loosened, now instead tender and caring, checking for the spots she hurt. (Denz De'bayle) *He shakes his head.* "It's alright, it's alright, my love." *His fingers wrap carefully around her wrists.* "Are you alright, Jancis?" (Jancis Milburga) "Well I thought it would be fun to drink once it melted. It was such a pretty snow." She doesn't fight his grasp, her eyes still lingering as if they could mend bruises away. "Did you like it? I am well enough. I. I might have not realized how long it took to gather enough snow to fill a bottle." (Denz De'bayle) *He smiles, failing to let go of her wrists as he nodded.* "I did, Jancis. Do you see snow and think of me?" *His tone was curious, raising an eyebrow.* (Jancis Milburga) Jancis' eyes went wide, hands loose and curling, unable to hide the soft blush that was coming to her face. "Need not just be snow." She tilted her head, unable to avoid it. "I thought you would like the taste. Lady Gaelle gave me the idea." (Jancis Milburga) "Well she was speaking of wine. And you like water. And then it started snowing." (Denz De'bayle) *He let out a small laugh at her reaction, bowing his head to follow her own head turn.* "I cannot say I often have eaten snow or drank it's remnants. But thank you, Jancis. 'Twas thoughtful." *Still he held onto her wrists.* "Where were you coming back from, if I might ask?" *He lowers himself to the bench, only then realizing he was still gripping Jancis' hands let go of them, one hand sliding down her glove to wrap around her fingers.* (Jancis Milburga) She had to take a step forward before Denz released her, a smile renewing on her face as she focused on his hand a moment, squeezing his fingers. "So nice to see you." Her voice was very soft at that. "Foundation. I went to the Northern Reaches to check in about paperwork. I do not think I went at the right time, though. All so complicated to become official. I should have asked. Carina has papers for me, but I thought it would be helpful. But I did find some pastries and walk about." (Jancis Milburga) "And then the snow. Plus I wanted to see what other reagents were there for Killian. I asked him for a task, but he only asked me how I was feeling. So I was trying to prepare after seeing his infirmary. It is very white." (Jancis Milburga) Jancis comments a bit more, "I forgot how unnatural it was when we were staying there. Still nice though. Bed is still there." (Denz De'bayle) *Denz furrowed his eyebrows.* "Paperwork? I would not think you'd need to go to Ishgard regarding such." *He smiles lightly at her remembrance, tilting his head slightly.* "It is." *He set his mouth in thought.* "Have you the time to sit with me?"
(Jancis Milburga) Her answer came in stepping back around his leg, hand still with his, and sank down onto the bench. "Forgive me. I could have asked you. The idea came to me and I thought it worth trying. Plus then I could get pastries. And get lost for awhile." (Denz De'bayle) *The young knight bows his head.* "Nothing to apologize for, Jancis. While we are bonded, it does not mean we must needs be attached at the hip at all bells of the sun." *He holds up his left hand, indicating the ring on it.* "This simply means that we will always be returning to one another, no matter how long we are separated for." (Jancis Milburga) "Always be returning." She echoed in agreement, smiling. "Then I can take advantage of it now. What would you suggest I do next?" Her smiled stayed, looking over him and his shirt, looking to the end of his ears, then to his hand. (Denz De'bayle) *Denz leaned his head onto the top of hers, his cheek against her crown as he sighed.* "I could not say, my love. The hour is late, so all plans of adventure and danger will have to wait until tomorrow." *Exhaling some, he lifted his head and looked back at her.* "Lest you had a plan?" (Jancis Milburga) "..." There was the barest shaking of her head. There wasn't a vocal response for a minute while Jancis simply soaked up his presence. "No, not much of a plan. Figure out how I can serve your house. Our House?" She gave it more emphasis, guessing the proper way to say it. (Jancis Milburga) "I am to aid Killian, but he seems so worried and was quite exhausted last I saw him. So I am guessing and thought more supplies would be useful, regardless." (Denz De'bayle) *He tilts his head.* "That is what you want? To work more closely with the House?" *He crossed his free arm under his other elbow, his face musing for a moment.* "Should they not be at your command? -You- are my Viscountess. Dresses of every color and fabric, a pair of shoes for every day of the turn. Commanding your knights and vassals to entertain you..." (Jancis Milburga) "Yes. Yes, I do. You have been suffering. And nearly punishing yourself for not being closer to your family. I cannot hinder that." The hyur was missing the grin in her hair. "Is that what I am? Naught called me that before. I should be looking at fabrics? The Jewel, then? Surely the weaver guild will have a better idea. Cobblers there, too." (Denz De'bayle) *Denz decides to roll with it, his grin still upon his lips.* "And how shall they entertain you? Duels? Jousting? We could order some jesters to make you laugh." (Denz De'bayle) "And those who come from miles around will be graced with the most beautiful smile they have ever bore witness to." (Jancis Milburga) "That does not sound very useful at all." This joke was setting in with the hyur as she took the words more at face value, eyes glancing up at his neck. "I. I do enjoy stories and music. Would that not be for everyone? Wait..." She pulled away from Denz to finally see his face, gasping softly as she pieced together his ruse. The fur-lined poncho hood was pulled over Jancis' head to blur the sight of her face. (Denz De'bayle) *He lets out a laugh at her gasp, rocking a bit as she hides her face.* "Hahah, is that not the way of nobility, my love? To enjoy and have others watch your enjoyment?" *His voice was tinged with a bit of sarcasm.* "Surely such escapades would be useful." *With a sighing laugh, he shook his head, gently picking at the hood to reveal her face again.* "You are more than useful, and truly a welcome sight to -our- House. Seeing them more will be better than always seeing them in passing holidays, - (Denz De'bayle) -- or worse, when we but need healing." *He leans into her.* "Though none are as lucky as I to see you as much as I do." (Jancis Milburga) There was no attempt to hinder the sight of her flustered face, eyes meeting his and softening. "Our House." She repeats quietly. "How curious. Is how I felt when I sat down here. Lucky." Her eyes squinted in a smile. "I do not want you to be in passing to them. Nor do I think I can be this sort of noble you describe." (Jancis Milburga) "I am going to need a lot of guidance from you to earn what you call me." (Jancis Milburga) "Called me, I mean." (Denz De'bayle) *Denz removes his free hand, holding it up in a dismissive wave.* "Nor would we ask such of you, Jancis. If nothing else, Carina or Astrelle might be able to teach you some form of.... of being a noblewoman?" *He shrugs.* "Carina would be best, I believe. She did not come nobility but took to it rather well in the last year." (Denz De'bayle) "I don't believe she's done anything to ever be considered a bad noble."
(Jancis Milburga) Jancis' eyes watched the shrug, not looking overly enthused in a rare display. "I will do what I can, Denz Love." Brow furrowed, she gave the knight a more hopeful look. "How are you feeling? Was there a reason you were sitting here?" (Denz De'bayle) *He nods, one of his hands running along his chest as if to check and see if certain wounds or bruises still hurt.* "I am done healing, though I am reminded once more why simply assaulting Garlemald is still not an option for Eorzea." *He waves his hand again.* "No reason, just thinking. More than I need to surely." *He looks down at her hand, mouth twisting silently in thought.* (Jancis Milburga) "Thaliak would want such bounty to be shared." She offers softly, head tilting to try and match his angle. (Denz De'bayle) *His eyebrows furrow, though his tone doesn't seem to match what appears to be a look of concern.* "Do you... does the, ah bed... feel right to you, Jancis?" (Jancis Milburga) The healer pursed her lips thoughtfully, "It is different. You feel right and that is what I focus on. I am unsure I would sleep on it without you by my side." Her eyes meet his again, "The floor is comforting because I can feel someone else approaching, but I have not felt the need in moons. I just feel your presence." (Denz De'bayle) *He smiles, if somewhat unsure.* "Do you feel any improvement in your body from being on a mattress instead of the floor?" *He raises and drops their interlinked hands.* "I was worried about that, and then also other... things we'd need in the room. The more I move around and look at the room, the less I see a fitting space for our child, lest we tore down much of what that room's purpose was." (Jancis Milburga) "You got it for me." Awed and humility came into her voice about the bed, her free hand came up to Denz's jaw, brushing at his hair. "What do we need, my husband?" (Denz De'bayle) *He nods carefully.* "I did. And for our child. But there is more than a bed that they will need. They will need their own, a night or two. We may wish walls between ourselves and our child, if to but save our ears should begin crying. We need more shelving, places to keep clothing..." *He grimaces.* "I know I am forgetting more. Carina would be helpful to speak to." (Denz De'bayle) *He sets his mouth.* "I still haven't told anyone else about you, my love. Have you?" (Jancis Milburga) "I told Chachanji when visiting. The night I wrote you about staying with him. Barengar knows." She thought a moment, "Killian and Carina might have told others, so I am not sure who else." (Jancis Milburga) "You should ask her what is needed. I had not thought to do more than figure it out as it came. The children's room. A bed. The basin. But your thoughts look so worried. I do not mean to not prepare. I. I thought I was by doing more at the Vigil." (Denz De'bayle) *He turned more towards her.* "You are, Jancis. And I would not ask to take that away from you. It's just that with a child on the way and our lack of space I..." *He looked down at his free hand.* "I started thinking about other options. Other places to live." (Jancis Milburga) Jancis' gaze went up to the window behind them, repeating "lack of space" quietly. Lips together, her eyes went back to look at him, her free hand reaching over to squeeze at the hand that held hers. "You are my home, Denz. Our home?" She sounded curious, referring to herself as multiple people for a strange moment. That was new. "What did you think of?" (Denz De'bayle) *Denz's eyebrows rose in surprise at her rather agreeable receptiveness to the idea of moving where they lived. He excepted more.* "I... Hm." *Composing himself more, he leaned back on the bench, staring ahead in thought for a moment before beginning to speak.* "Somewhere safe. Warm. Around those we trust. While I had originally thought of our house in Coerthas, 'twould be much repair 'ere it was ever usable. As for our manor in Ishgard, it is technically not ours, though much of the -- (Denz De'bayle) -- furnishings for a large family still remain." *He looked sidelong at the hyur.* "This left me with giving much thought to the Vigil, as it is where our family lives, where we could have the most security and comfort. Those there know how to raise a child, and it already plays host to one." *He furrowed his eyebrows.* "I know the Vigil can sometimes be seen as a place of war and combat, but 'tis also a home to almost all of my family." (Jancis Milburga) Her eyes watched him as much as she listened, taking in the reasons, echoing a couple of them quietly to herself. Her eyes went back to the familiar building, standing to see it better. There was a long pause, her lips set together, buckling in the purse as she thought. "I cannot cause you more grief by making you feel distant to your family."
(Denz De'bayle) *Denz shook his head, standing up and looking down at her.* "You have never done so, Jancis. I choose to stand by you over them, and I wil l continue to." *He closes his eyes, inhaling slowly.* "'Tis a saddening thing to hear, to even say, but know that any grief in distance is deafened by your presence." *He opened them back up, stepping to the side to observe the building.* "This has been your home too, Jancis. I would not so easily ask you to cast that aside." *He gestures up an arm.* -- (Denz De'bayle) -- "If nothing else, it could become our place of sanctuary, should wherever we go prove to be too much." (Jancis Milburga) She doesn't look overly convinced at first. "I." She regards him a moment, eyes closed then looking at the building. "And yours. You slept downstairs by the fire. Found the bun. Chocobos clearly cherish you. Sanctuary?" (Jancis Milburga) "You. You kissed me here." (Denz De'bayle) *Denz nods, running a hand along her back.* "This is not me asking you to leave this place behind, or to forget about it. I am asking if you believe this is where we should be to raise our child." *He looked back up at the building.* "Tis a wonderful place. A-and these are just mere thoughts I've been delving into, Jancis." *He places his lips on her head.* "Please do not think I need an answer at this very moment." (Jancis Milburga) Jancis closed her eyes, focusing on him another moment, the blue threads in his tunic. "Not asking to leave behind." Her hand almost laid on the fabric before she hesitated on making him flinch again. "I do not want to only deafen the grief I initially cause. The best childhood I can-" She paused again, eyes truly considering Denz's words. What did she know about providing the extended childhood she wanted so much to give? Now worry filled the furrow on her face and she took a deep calming -- (Jancis Milburga) -- breath. "I can do that. I can think about it and answer you, Denz Love." (Denz De'bayle) *He smiled.* "Your thoughts mean the world to me Jancis." *His head left hers, hand tugging her towards the door.* "Tis best to sleep on deep thoughts. The untroubled ones, anyhow." (Jancis Milburga) Her eyes watched his hand a minute, following him inside as if second nature, musing on how familiar the steps were. "Even on the new bed? If we did, would it come with us?" (Denz De'bayle) *Denz's eyes lowered some in realization of what moving would mean. Composing himself, he nodded weakly.* "It... it would come with us, yes. All of it." (Jancis Milburga) "Maybe it will feel more right." She lifted her other hand to hold his in both of hers. "Where do you want to sleep tonight? For deep thoughts?" (Denz De'bayle) *He nods to the Spangledance.* "Whatever choice you make, I would make every night here as special as the next, my love. Bed or no." *His thumb rubbed the cloth of her glove.* "Deep thoughts can come from anywhere." (Jancis Milburga) "I meant within." She tries to clarify awkwardly, an apology quickly following it as she encouraged him to continue within. "You are my bed as much as my home, yes?" (Denz De'bayle) *He let out a light laugh, stepping back and gesturing his free arm outwards.* "You may decide that, Jancis. I have, after all, imposed a giant bed over where you used to sleep." (Jancis Milburga) Jancis echoed the laugh, the worry and new building thoughts ebbing a moment as she gazed up at him, taking the lead into the house. "It is not so imposing. It. It added to our bed. A new level of it. It simply grew." She stopped right after she went through the door, looking about. (Jancis Milburga) "I wish to sleep down there." She pointed to the stairs. (Denz De'bayle) *Denz nods, looking down the stairs.* "As you wish, my wife." *He looks towards their room.* "Shall I grab anything for us to rest with?" (Jancis Milburga) Her eyes immediately snap back up to Denz at the term. Softening a bit, she smiles, wrapping herself around the arm that held her hand in a hug. "Whatever you wish. A blanket? Think that is what you had your first night here. It is something familiar, and not. A good place to sleep and think with a clear mind." (Denz De'bayle) *He nods, before slowly pulling his arm away from her to go and gather a blanket. And some pillows. And clothes to sleep in, emerging out from the hall and having removed much of his own clothing.* (Jancis Milburga) She watched her elezen go until the door clothes, heading downstairs to look over the space. "Sanctuary." She repeated quietly. But it was quiet. Perhaps too much so. "Too simple?" She asked the room to no answer. Sitting down, she pried her boots and gloves off, making as if to camp, looking at the rug that paled compared to their bed. (Denz De'bayle) *Denz comes downstairs with his haul, gracelessly dropping the bounty next to Jancis and promptly falling to the floor beside her.*
(Jancis Milburga) "You wore yourself making a bed only suns ago." She crawled up next to him, checking the bruises he surely make vocal at his actions, hands doing their best to soothe them as she half went through -all- he brought, helping him change before changing herself. She stayed quiet, clearly thinking through it, though she had nothing but smiles for whenever Jancis looked upon him. A thoughtful loving smile. Finally settled and camped out, she curled up against his side with a soft "I love you." (Denz De'bayle) *Denz begrudgingly flipped about and made room for her to actually set up and see to him. Most of his wounds had indeed sealed, though some of the nastier ones still kept a reddened outline around them. Denz did not appear bothered by them though, more inclined to lay down and already begin drifting off with Jancis in his arms.* "I love you too, Jancis."
