Mikimoto... you're beautiful!
I've been in the pageant community for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a country where pageants are the prime event of the year and we celebrate pur queens like they're truly royalty.
Winning a pageant in my country, is like winning the lottery, is getting a better life. I had cousins who participated in Miss Universe Puerto Rico. One of them finishing third finalist to the eventually Miss Universe 1993, Dayanara Torres.
It's part of our culture.
Back in 2011, I met a bunch of pageant lovers like. One from Puerto Rico one from Venezuela and one from Costa Rica. We've been together ever since. Through thick and thin, even in distance, we have been together, growing together.
Every year, we would watch the pageant and chat either through Skype, OovoO, Zoom, Teams, and we would always discuss every pageant available.
We promised ourselves that we were all going to get together, and go to this upcoming Miss Universe in New Orleans, Louisiana, since it might be the last Miss Universe in the United States for a while; but life had other plans and we couldn't make the trip. But my friend made sure to elevate the experience and gift all of us a crown.
I guess which one I got?
I GOT THE MIKIMOTO!
She knows how much I LOVE this crown. She knows that, for me, it's the most ethereal of all of them. If you're a pageant fan, you know how hard is to get this one particularly in good quality and let alone get it delivered in one piece because of how delicate it is.
I truly have no words. This made my night but also made me question myself as well: Why I haven't collect them all?
And that became one of the many missions I want to complete this year.
