how long could we be a sad song? until we were too far gone to bring back to life? i gave you all my best me's, my endless empathy. and all I did was bleed as I tried to be the bravest soldier. fighting in only your army. frontlines, don't you ignore me. i'm the best thing at this party. and I wouldn't marry me either. a pathological people pleaser. who only wanted you to see her

You're Losing Me is undoubtedly a breakup song but I think part of what makes it so relatable and lets so many people connect with it is that it applies to anything that you're slowly getting disillusioned with and want out of.
If you're exhausted by a workplace that doesn't value you, starting to see through a dream that you glamorized without ever thinking about if it was meant for you at all, moving on from a friendship that wasn't beneficial to you, and so many other situations, YLM fits almost perfectly, like:
"I'm getting tired even for a phoenix, Always risin' from the ashes, Mendin' all her gashes, You might just have dealt the final blow"
"And all I did was bleed as I tried to be the bravest soldier"
"And the air is thick with loss and indecision"
Just like love comes in many different forms, so does loss, and YLM is a raw, screaming description of them all.
