One of my favourite, and sort of secret, places in Rome is the incredible Palazzo Colonna. The great hall was completed in 1700 to celebrate the victory of the Christian fleet over the Turks at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571.📸: @michaelthecanadian

A view to the stage of the Margravial Opera House in #Bayreuth, #Germany completed in 1750. The recreation of a typical painted wood set is on the stage creating a cool 3D effect. You can see the detail in the second picture. In 2012, the opera house was inscribed in the #unescoworldheritage List, for obvious reasons 😂 Big thanks to @bayreuthtourismus for bringing me to visit! #Repost @michaelthecanadian #operahouse #beautifuldestinations #heritagesite #unescoheritage #unescoheritagesite #unescosite #beautifulplaces #travelgram #mapofeurope #ig_travel #aroundtheworld #mytinyatlas #beautifulmatters #unescoworldheritage #patrimoniounesco #exploringeurope #europeantravel #historicalbuildings #baroqueopera https://www.instagram.com/p/CeT2EBgOZGH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Don’t be fooled though, it’s completely made only of wood!

📌Following the example of some colleagues as @tomagarnier or @michaelthecanadian , starting today, I will post some unpublished pictures about the last 6 years before I start the next adventure. Don’t worry, I will continue posting some photos of @patrimnacional , but merging with my archive. This new big serie will dive on shared topics in all European Royal and Aristocratic residences: textures, room types, curious furniture...do you want to travel through the time with me? - 📌”La Galerie de Bal” in the Château de Compiègne. Photographed in 2015. It was built between 1810-13 under Napoleon I by Dubois, Redouté, Girodet and Taunay. During the Second Empire it was used as a Dining Room during the Court “Séries”.
