Happy #MellyMonday
This week's weekly commission blog will take you my next commission done by IssyCake on Twitter
Tumblr media
This commission is absolutely gorgeous. Issy shows so much attention to detail with the use of color to create a nice lighting effect. This is especially prevalent on her face and parts of her head wings. And while it is very simple in style, the background color really brings out Melia her. I also like the little sparkles added to give motion to the commission.
Tumblr media
Here is the original sketch for the commission. Not much has changed, but there is one big difference here compared to the final. And that is her hair positioning. There wasn't much life put into her hair, which is what I wanted to focus on with this commission. The final's hair has so much more depth and life put into it. I love it so much more!!! 😍😍😍
Tumblr media
As far as I am aware, Issy isn't on Tumblr. If you happen to be on Twitter, definitely consider giving her a follow as she does very nice art. Her commissions are currently open and her prices and TOS are in her pinned post. I hope you guys can check her out.
That's it for this post. Next week will be my first Melia commission for 2022. I hope you guys are enjoying these every Melly Monday!

I’ve drawn Melia in the past but never in her Queen outfit so I figured I’d ought to rectify that for #mellymonday. I hope you enjoy her!

Melia in her black dress.
I'm so glad this outfit wasn't just a plot thing and its a legitimate outfit choice of her own, because it looks stunning on her.

It's time for another Melia commission blog. This time, it is from Soph. Aka @tornadoarts. Check it out!
Tumblr media
I really like Tornadoart's drawings before I commissioned her. I mean, that goes for a lot of artists that I commissioned. But Soph always had this pastel/watercolor feel to her art, and it really made her very unique from other artists I commissioned.
As per usual, she had her commission slots up June of last year, and I wanted to see if I can put a slot in for myself. Of course, the request was made and we went on our merry way.
Tumblr media
There is really not much of anything that is different from the wip to the finished version. But it is interesting looking back on this one as not having a nighttime sky to it.
Going onto the art itself, I love the flair Soph gave to Melia here, especially. Especially when it comes to color theory where Melia and the background are portrayed with cooler coolers. I really love the purple and the purplish redish colors she used to make Melia and her hair shown off. It's just so nice! The pose is great, and the face is charming as well.
The night background is especially nice because of how it contrasts from backgrounds I commissioned in the past. All having to do with the time of day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The night version of the background I think looks especially pretty. And I didn't really even ask for that in the commission. I just only asked for a simple background. And the gorgeous stars and fog in the background are done at such a stylish way. Only Soph can very much pull off.
Tumblr media
Soph doesn't have commissions open that often these days. Maybe like once or twice a year now. I hope you do get to commission her one of these days, because her art is very special indeed.
Welp, that's it for today. Next week I will be talking about my last Long Hair Melia commission that I will do for a while. Which I will also be the beginning of a one month hiatus from making blogs. I will talk about it more in my next blog, but look forward to that. See you all then and have a great day!

Time for another commission blog. This time it is Hero Melia from @chascobyart . Please enjoy this exclusive Tumblr version of the art.
Tumblr media
I've talked about Chascoby before, but I think he really improved on his craft in the past year. And this Melia and background is no different. It is amazing!
It started when he had commissions opened up back in September, which is when I wanted some of the artists I previously commissioned to draw Hero Melia (this is when the floodgates started opening up last year). I asked him for a Hero Melia, and agreed. He was especially excited to do her right away because he just finished Xenoblade 3 not too long before he opened commissions.
Tumblr media
I asked Chasco to do a full-body complex color with a dynamic pose. Adding her wings with her floating in the air similar to one of her idle animations in Xenoblade 3. As well as have her at the garden on top of Keves Castle. I originally wanted her on the bedroom balcony, but Chasco said it was a bit too crowded for what he wanted to do. Which I was fine with because I wanted to give him a lot if freedom with the commission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His sketch and lineart are just fantastic as usual. And when you especially look at the lineart on Melia's face, you can tell how well it was sculpted there.
Tumblr media
This Melia is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Her face and body structure is great. I loved how he colored in Melia's boots and the wings gorgously. Whenever I look at this Melia again, I just remember the amazing feeling I felt when I saw her face when she is battle ready.
Tumblr media
Chascoby rarely takes commissions these days, but still has made plenty of great art lately. I highly recommend checking out if you can.
Anyways, thanks everyone again for reading this blog all the way to the end. Tune in next week where we show Hero Melia with a cute expression on her face. See you then!

Happy New Year everyone and Happy #MellyMonday
Time for a New Years commission blog. This time it is Queen Melia from @adricarra-art
Tumblr media
How I found Adri was interesting. She is one of the artists who was recommended by a friend who also commissions her a lot at the time. So, I wanted to do my part and wanted to do one last commission to end off the amazing year in 2022. Luckily, she had commissions open. I was able to give her what I wanted. And that was that.
Before I show the wips, I want to share a spoiler for Xenoblade 3. If you see this and haven't finished the game yet, I recommend skipping to the first wip further down.
The art takes place in the post credits scene where we are back in Noah's world celebrating the coming of a new year before the two worlds collided with each other. Doves are flying, people are celebrating, fireworks are going off. But we never see Melia at the castle the town was at... I wanted it to be a reality.
Tumblr media
So initially, the frame of the art looked like this. However, I wanted the frame to include a bit of the sky as well because I thought that was an important part to the scene in general. However, Adri said that she couldn't fit the sky because of the perspective. I still persisted though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It wasn't until she moved the frame a bit more, and it actually made a huge difference to the frame itself. It was really interesting how much artists want to keep their framing in the background while keeping the focus solely on the subject.
So, idk about you guys, but I think this is the best background I have ever commissioned. Like, not just Melia herself. But the people lining the streets. The colors coming from he fireworks and reflecting off of the white doves and even on the water as well. It just looks incredibly lively with the people celebrating in front of our queen. And I love it so much!
Tumblr media
Adri is currently accepting commissions. Even though there is a waitlist, she is very fast with her art commissions, so I recommend checking her out.
Welp, that's it for today everyone. Happy New Year again and thanks for reading all the way to the end. Next time, we will go back to our normal schedule with Melia doing a very iconic pose in the Xenoblade community. See you all then!

Time for another commission blog. It is a very prideful one indeed. And that is FC Melia holding a demipansexual flag. Done by @jokarioart
Tumblr media
There is a lot to go into the art itself, but it has an interesting backstory that goes along with this art. Half a decade ago @sir-teatei-moonlight made a headcannon about Melia's sexual orientation:
Tumblr media
In it, Teatei says that Melia is a demipansexual. A demipansexual is defined as a sexual orientation for people who would only be attracted to any gender as long as a lot of trust is built among their partner. So Melia can be attracted to anyone of any gender or sexual orientation, but unless she is given a positive sexual experience by those people, she is not attracted to anyone not assuming she has crushes or whatnot.
At the time, I found this to be a great way to describe Melia in general from the way she displays attraction in XC1. Only really having a crush on Shulk, only getting rejected, then wanting to become like Fiora right when the game ends. Not only that, Teatei explains in his blog that Melia has been sexually aroused several times without noticing. Something common with asexuals, but demipansexuals also experience that phenomenon as well.
You can read more about demipansexuality elsewhere because it is a really interesting sexuality to get into coming from a pan-curious person myself.
Tumblr media
Here is the flag of demipansexuality. Basically, the colors (pink=female, yellow=non-binary, blue=male according to sexuality wiki) representing the everyone coming from the pansexual flag and the black triangle representing the asexual part (not wanting sex unless having full trust in the partner to have one).
Upon really liking the headcannon, pride month came up around the time Adri was opening up commissions again. I hit her up with the idea, and here we are. First pride month Melia commission (this won't be the last one from her).
Talking about the art itself, Adri did such a sweet job with the sassy pose she gave Melia and her holding up a stick flag. It really shows the positivity of the LGBTQ+ community and how they portray fanart. Adri is transfemme after all, so she had the freedom to do it.
Tumblr media
In fact, I gave her permission to make a trans version of the art for free as well (I wasn't a part of this commission). Adri headcannons Melia as transfemme and I definitely can get by it! Anything for the trans community is welcome around me, especially. Or any of the LGBTQ+ community for that matter. 😊
Tumblr media
Adri is on Tumblr and also has a Patreon as well. She is taking commissions, but she isn't advertising them right now. I highly recommend checking out her work as she continues to improve her art with each art piece. Love you Adri!
That is the commission blog. Next week, I will discuss the Van Gogh of my Melia commissions. See you then!

Time for another commission blog. This Melia is from Mel, aka @formthethird. Here she is!
Tumblr media
Mel has such a nice style for her art. She uses bright colors and pretty unique body formations whenever she does full-body art. The way she draws eyes and faces especially sets her apart from other artists. I find that to be pretty cute in my opinion.
The commission process was quite simple. I hit her up in her DMs, asked for another Full-body Long Hair Melia, sent the payment through Ko-Fi and here we are.
Tumblr media
Really, not much has changed from the initial sketch/lineart to the actual drawing itself. What is interesting about this sketch is that it includes shadows that almost look like water smudges. It's a really creative way on where to place the lighting/shadows in the actual drawing. I also noticed the slightly different pose in the top left corner of the sketch.
As for the art itself, it was absolutely stunning. The way she is posed and the grass she is posing on almost reminds me of the Goodsmile Melia figure that released last year. It may just be the look of the grass though...
Tumblr media
I actually think this is one of Mel's best work. The look of the art, combined with the pose and the nice purple and green gradient for the background, just makes it so appealing to look at.
Tumblr media
Mel unfortunately isn't super active on the internet, nor does she take commissions much these days. She's still posting art on both Twitter and Tumblr though, which is very nice to see. I also recommend checking out her print shop too!
Tumblr media
Well everyone, all good things must come to an end sometime. Well... not really. I'm going to take a brief hiatus for a few weeks on commission blogs. I think it would mostly help me be more creative with my writing and talk about my Melia commissions better. In the meantime, please check out the rest of the commission blogs if you haven't. I would really appreciate that! Thanks everyone who have been reading these! 🙏🙏🙏
Oh, and I'll do something on here for my birthday in a week and a half. Stay tuned!

Happy #MellyMonday again!
Time for another art commission blog. The next Melia on the list is from Chascoby_Art on Twitter
Tumblr media
I've always loved Chasocoby's art. Mainly because of how he draws faces and comes up with excellent poses for his character art. I love Melia's expression on here. She looks surprised as she looks at the viewer. I love the posture of his hands as well. The shading on the hair looks very good, too. What more can you say about it that is phenominal?
Tumblr media
And the best part about this is, I think this maybe one of Chascoby's favorite commissions he has done. I can tell he got very excited when he shared the initial pose with me.
Tumblr media
After I said yes, he really went ham with it. No changes needed to be made at all. It turned out to be very solid. He was so happy with it in fact that he made a nude version of the Melia which you can find on his Patreon (Will not share here for obvious reasons)
https://www.patreon.com/chascoby/posts
Here is his Patreon page if you want to search for it. It should still be on there, you just have to search with the "Melia" keyword. And you will find it.
Actually... you know what. Here is a preview 😁
Tumblr media
Anyways, I hope you app are still enjoying these. I share love doing these every Monday. Next week, it is Chibi Long Hair Melia 😁😁

Melly Monday Commission Blog Post #8
Happy #MellyMonday,
Time for another commission blog post. Now I have to apologize from what I said last week about this week being about my most expensive blog post. I was wrong. It is next week. For now, I will talk about the pre-cursor to that commission with is done by @octobrushido and her version of Long Hair Melia.
Tumblr media
I've commissioned Eva a few times in the past and she is always so chill to talk to and chat with. It was there that I got recommended by a friend who has commissioned Eva a few times for me to try her out. Her prices were very cheap ($30 at the time for a full body, $40 for a background), and it went from there. I hit her up, and got the usual commission.
Tumblr media
Here is the sketch portion. I wanted to make a few changes to the artwork. For one, I wanted Melia to be positioned to the right more to see Alcomoth a bit better because that is important to show in a piece like this. Which led to the caveat of Gran Dell being a bit obscured in the final image which I didn't mind (the next commission will show a better look a both Alcomoth and Gran Dell). Eva then raised Alcomoth above the trees more to get a better view of the decayed capital. Eva also made Melia's eyes look toward us and not ahead of her.
Tumblr media
Here is the colored lineart wip. Which looks absolutely fantastic. Eva normally doesn't do backgrounds all that well, but I really get a surrealist vibe just from this wip alone. Even putting in the shading and everything.
Anyways, going into the final itself, it is unbelievably fantastic. She really put as much detail in the texture of the bridge, trees, even far away objects like the fog from Gran Dell and Alcomoth's light reflections. I'm just so glad she gave so much attention to Melia's design and the background especially. And $40 at the time? She can never get away with that nowadays. I also loved how she did Melia's hair here. Just the perfect length that I wanted. 👌👌
Tumblr media
Eva isn't on Tumblr much even though she has an account on there. I recommend finding her on Twitter and Discord. She opens commissions pretty regularly, but her prices have gone up quite a bit after my commission posted a year ago. But I still recommend checking her art out. She does amazing stuff, and still improving until this day.
Anyways, NEXT Monday I will talk about one of my most expensive commissions from last year. I hope you will like the story that I have to tell for this one! Thanks again for continuing to like and repost these blogs. I am getting closer to 100 followers, which it would be super amazing if I can reach that soon!

Happy #MellyMonday again!
Time for the weekly Monday blog. Where I share the process of the making of my Melia commissions. This next one comes from @deebyfeeby. IT'S CHIBI MELIA!!
Tumblr media
Now you all know the hype of Xenoblade 3 daily updates after Xenoblade 3's second trailer came out and showed us a whole bunch of things? Including the battle system and heroes and stuff? Well, what came along with it is the main characters turned chibified!
Tumblr media
What spawned from this is multitudes of fanart depicting OCs and other Xenoblade characters in a chibi form. They were all so cute! (Image below is from one of my Xenoblade update videos)
Tumblr media
youtube
In short, Xeno fans ate it all up. I'm glad the XC3 chibis we got were included in the actual game as a way to choose classes.
This singlehandedly made a lot of artists become inspired to do commissions based off of the chibi style. One such artist is Pheobe. Who is one of my good friends and a great artist on top of it all. As soon as the Xenoblade JP Twitter account posted the first chibis we saw, Pheobe found a great opportunity to capilize on this. And that is to open up XC3 styled chibi Ko-Fi commissions for 15 euros each at the time. First come, first served.
Tumblr media
That's when I immediately made the Ko-Fi offer in the second batch she was doing at the time. It was affordable, and I really only wanted FC Long Hair Melia anyways. So I went with it. Low and behold, she was done with it literally the day of. It was awesome!
I then made the post on my main account and it did very well. Amassing over 900 likes. At the time, this was my most liked post, and I was very happy about this, and the work Pheobe put into it.
Tumblr media
I was so happy with it in fact, that I edited the background to have Gran Dell from Future Connected in there, and a pink circular border and made it my pfp on Twitter for a few months and currently my Discord server's pfp.
Tumblr media
Until this day, this is one of my favorite XC3 styled chibis made by an artist. And I'm not being biased in this. FC Melia's design has a lot to it. And being able to put it off in a miniature styled form I would give high respect to.
I currently use the chibi as an emote for my Discord server. But not quite as spammable as the Enni emote. It works for what it can do.
Tumblr media
Pheobe still does Xenoblade Chibi commissions. I highly recommend commissioning her one when they open up again. They are very affordable and they are just nice to have as a pfp.
She also does animated Xenoblade Style chibis for 10 euros extra. And guess what I did????
Tumblr media
That's right. SHE IS ANIMATED NOW!!!!
I did this a lot later after she opened these up late last year, but it is well worth it to have. All because you can add a whole bunch of things that are related to her class. Like you can customize the class symbol, if she is the an attacker, defender, or healer. What she excels at (the SDBS thing). And the name of the class with mine being "Imperial Triarch". Which fits her role well with what happens at the end of Future Connected. As the ruler of her people that she so desperately deserved.
Anyways, everyone. That is it for the Melly Monday commission blog. Please look forward to next week were I talk about an artist's first commission. And it happened to be Melia! Look forward to it. 😁😁😁
