Today my doctor said “hey I left you a gift, but you have to look at your stethoscope.” I smile and looked in my drawer and pulled out my stethoscope. My smile got bigger and I said “thank you!” When I first started my MA job in 2009 with him he had a bear on his stethoscope and I asked him about it. He told me that he uses it now to decide which ear it goes to and it’s a good distraction to tell people to look at the bear. He will retire this year. His date is already set for May. With everything going on now, it makes me wonder if he will leave earlier. I hope not, but we cannot see our well patients because most of them are high risk so they have to stay home. The office is having to break up into 2 different groups and we are either to help out at another office or we will be off for a day. It’s a weird change, but one that has to take place.
