As a Confidence Stylist measurements help me dress my Clients in a way that suits their body and goals. The arbitrary vanity sizing in womenswear makes measurements all the more important to me but I know that sizing can feel crushing to you. You’re more powerful than any number. Switching from being a trainee to working on his designs gave Seokwoo considerable mental whiplash, the pincushion tied around his wrist as he stood in front of the familiar model and blinking to remind himself what he was meant to do. It was a little later than everyone else was there in the building, but there was something calming about having less noise and chatter going on around him that Seokwoo liked. A smile rising on his lips as he met Dongmin’s gaze. They’d worked together before, when Seokwoo was still the CEO of Interstellar. Now, he was simply a designer, he was an employee, he was paid a regular pay check and not in control of everything. They wanted him to quickly fit the clothing to Dongmin’s size for a shoot, then that was what he was going to do. Even when he thought they’d picked the design he liked the least out of everything he’d showed them.

“Thanks for meeting me a bit later than planned, my other job went on longer than I expected,” Seokwoo offered the younger, it was sincere; even if saying ‘other job’ hardly constituted being a trainee at an entertainment company. His hands already moving, reaching out to adjust the jacket that he’d put together, fixing up the collar and straightening out the fabric. The size was obviously a little too wide on Dongmin’s frame and he was mentally taking in the fabric where he thought it might be needed. His eyes crinkled as he glanced from the casual boyfriend styled clothing for the winter line--jacket, shirt, jeans--and up to Dongmin. “So how have you been? Have you been working a lot? You must be busy with the Seoul Fashion Week coming up?” He found conversation easy, eyes darting from where his hands were trying to get the jacket to come in together at his front and back again to Dongmin’s face.

Measuring Up

I know one of my personal struggles is the scale. There was a time where I was so obsessed with the scale that I would go on it 4 times a day, which is unhealthy. So one thing I have really pushed for is taking measurements. Seeing inches shed off your body is a lot better than watching the scale fluxuate. As they say, muscle weighs more than fat. So I take my measurements at the beginning of every month and weigh myself once a week, usually every Sunday morning So my diet has been overall shitty pretty much for the last month. But I have maintained my weight of 173. But I measured today and in the last month I took 1/2in off each leg, 1in off each thigh, 1in off my waist, and 1/2in off my hips. It shows I added 1in to my stomach, but I think im a bit bloated from the ice cream last night. And it shows I added 1/2in to my chest. Idk how that happened, but im not complaining!
