#Maylor55: fifty-five years of the best brothers brothering and bickering like an old married couple, can’t live with him can’t live without him, pair of bandmates ever to band.
Sliding Doors: After the 90s Gwynneth Paltrow movie. It’s such a random coincidence that Les Brown saw Brian’s notice advertising for a drummer and mentioned it to Roger. What if he hadn’t seen the notice? What if he hadn’t mentioned it to Roger? Would the fates still have aligned to bring them together? Or would an astrophysicist and a dentist once have sat randomly side by side in the stands at Live Aid and felt a strange frisson?

My work for @55yearsofmaylor
A bit of context:
Roger comes from Cornwall, the land of Arthurian legend and mischievous pixies, and Brian has always been sceptical of this.
Until 1970, when he opens his eyes, he doesn't know where he is. A minute ago, he was standing backstage at the gig that Roger's mother had prepared in Cornwall, arguing with him over a few drum beats that he thought Roger had played incorrectly. And now he woke up, with moss-covered stone walls and plants all around him. And suddenly a message appeared before his eyes: a picture. Appearing in the picture is Roger in ancient clothes, looking older than the Roger Brian had just argued with. Below there are words encrusted in gold: "He was chosen to become The Once and Future Drummer".
Roger gets better every day, gradually becoming the master of drumming. From that day on, during their 55 years together, Brian never had to question Roger's qualifications again.

Brian did not want to wake up.
He was having such a good dream— one of his favorites, in fact. He’d not had it for a while and now here it was, far more vivid than he ever could recall.
It almost always started the same way: he was in bed, sound asleep, gradually waking up to caresses. As he struggled to wake, he could feel the sweep of light, teasing fingertips down the side his face, his throat—almost not there—and, upon his brow, the lightest kiss.

Fifty-five years!
We don’t have an exact date for when Brian and Roger met, only that it was very soon after Roger moved to London at the end of September 1968. Within a few weeks of that, Roger joined Tim and Brian’s band Smile, and Brian and Roger met Freddie.
This was fifty-five years ago this year!
I am not the kind of person who organises fests but we have to celebrate -

I am not a fest organiser but we should definitely have some weekends where those hashtags give us a chance to celebrate the London of 1968 and the stars aligning to bring three kindred souls together in its student bedsits.
