Floating and Flames

This is a little fic i wrote for the amazing @reginaldcopperbottom because they are amazing and deserve everything good. no seriously go give them all your support right fucking now otherwise i can and will take your spine privileges.

Sylvester Wesley, Ricardo Rich and Veronica Johanna belong to @reginaldcopperbottom (again go give them all the support NOW)

"Dude I just came up with something AMAZING for the play coming up!-"

Veronica's grip on the needle tightened and her body stiffened up. Oh no, the dumbasses are on it again.

"Ooooo? Hotsauce sequel?"

She sighed hard, the memory of the hot sauce incident was still haunting her a bit. The toilets...Oh god, the toilets were never the same.

"We'll need a phoenix for the blessing screen, so what if we-"

Here it comes, the shared brain cell is gonna prove its uselessness once again.

"-set the phoenix costume on fire and use a rope to glide over the stage!"

What.

The fabric she was working on impacted the floor.

She knows Sylvester is dumb as a brick as well but he can't be dumb enough to accept this! She's gotta have at least a little faith in their leader-

"Dude that is THE BEST IDEA I'VE EVER HEARD! I'll get the lighter RIGHT AWAY!"

"No, get the flamethrower we stole from those crown people! We gotta make this first try as perfect as possible!"

Before she knew it her footsteps were echoing throughout the halls of their base. Of course, Sylvester would agree with that idiotic idea! Those two barely share a brain cell. Her brown-eyed stare bounced between the various rooms in search of a familiar red cylinder that would help her prevent this oncoming disaster.

Her gaze finally landed on the beautiful red fire extinguisher and her hand closed around its black handle. Now she just needed to get to those buffons before they set themselves and their entire base on fire. And that was easier said than done. Sylvester and Ricardo were surprisingly fast when it came to dreadful ideas. She couldn't even stop them fast enough during the hot sauce incident and she was standing barely 2 meters away from them!

The doors to the auditorium burst open as Veronica entered the room.

"Okay, Sylv! I'm ready!"

"Okay buddy, give it your best shot!"

The sight before her was something that was gonna haunt her for...a few hours probably. Ricardo dangling god knows how many meters up in the air with a plain rope, Sylvester standing with the flamethrower on a wrangling ladder very close by, and the beautiful phoenix costume they worked so hard on sitting tightly around Ricardo himself.

"ACTION!"

As Sylvester's call echoed around the auditorium both the sound of the flamethrower lighting up and Veronica's speedy footsteps rose up as well, along with a pretty impressive bird imitation from Ricardo. Her grip tightened around the emergency ladder and before she knew it she had climbed up and blasted the burning phoenix with the fire extinguisher. The foam coated everything in white.

"Vero?!" Ricardo called.

As the fire shot out its last puff of smoke, clear air entered into Veronicas' lungs. That was way to close for comfort.

"What the hell Veronica? We were testing out a cool new idea-"

The pupils in her brown eyes narrowed harshly, her gaze fixed on Sylvester.

"O-Oh uh...Nevermind" he stated nervously.

After untangling Ricardo from the almost snapped rope and getting them both safely to the ground Veronica raised an eyebrow, expecting some kind of answer.

"You see Vero, I had this really cool idea and we decided to try it out, no harm in that right?"

"Yeah, it wasn't like we were gonna get hurt, we are professionals!"

The look Veronica gave them told them everything.
