some sketches about the masquerade/cinderella au

if you want to read the context of each one you can do so below!

1. EXPOSURE TRAUMA Walking through the halls of the oyster mansion wouldn't be so difficult for bp if it weren't for the portraits of lord oyster that she finds along the way. The little flashbacks she had are not enough to know who he was to her and why she freezes when she sees him.

2. when bp finds her pearl, she is suddenly overwhelmed by her emotions. she feels like a part of her is finally coming back to her, but not entirely whole. Because it is not in her natural form, the pearl does not react to it at all and does not receive the response she wants. so she has to run away with it

3. caviar is the only one that recognizes bp for obvious reasons. From the beginning he suspects the reason for his presence so he tries to get in his way thinking that he is looking to attack the republic. bp cannot arouse suspicion or the attention of others so she has to resign herself to humoring him until caviar decides to let her go

4. caviar's costume redesign lol It wasn't fair that only bp had a nice costume!! It's pretty simple but imagine caviar in red and with a corset (the last one is my favorite for now)

Hiya, and don't worry the Masquerade/Masq AU is still around in my list of work to do. At the moment I have so many ideas and plans that just need to be polished up, and I have about 9 or more big illustrations coming your way with the whole cast :3. It's just taking a hot second to finish up (-w- ;)

Anyway,*slides sneak peaks* here's a glimpse/portion on one of the big illustrations on the works.

Masquerade Masks

I have almost forgotten one of most important things in a masquerade—the masks!

Every masquerade includes the mask as a must. It is one of the things in the AU that makes the event more beautiful and mysterious. In this AU, the masquerade shall be animal-themed (not too much) similar to The Arcana.

(This is an example of what I mean)

In Discord, the masks of both the cast and some of the Summoners have been listed down. The animal-themed masks cannot duplicate in any way. Here are the following:

For what? You may ask, mostly because it's my personal fantasy to read this conversation in the very voices of the two men we're hopelessly devoted to. if you understand me. the same is the following:

“You’re very clever, aren’t you? I can read you like a book now. You thought I was young, and easily swayed, that you could make me love you, and I would throw over my country—my duty for you—!”

“Thats not the way to look at it, Catheryne.”

“You weren’t so wise afterall! Because you’ve lost you hear me?! Lost! You’ve guessed wrong in our little duel of wits! You forgot how close hate is to love!”

“You don’t know what you’re saying Catheryne.”

“You never loved me—! You knew that I loved you, and you used that!”

“Catheryne stop talking like a child—we’re playing for countries now!”

“Yes we are, aren’t we!”

“This is a gun in my hand, Rudolph… i’d advice you to be careful what you say.”

“Well… rather melodramatic, aren’t you..? Tell me, will I be the 7th notch on the gun or the 8th?… haha…. d’you mind if I smoke?”

“…Smoke?!”

“…I always smoke at the theatre. Somehow it enhances the performance.”

“You can do anything you please, Rudolph, but you have very little time to do it in.”

“…You mean you’re actually going to kill me..?”

“Do you think I wanted to love you…?! Knowing where ya came from and what your mission was?! Don’t you suppose that every hour that we were together I was just thinking ‘Shes just pretending’?!”

“I wasn’t!!! I loved you!!!”

“And I loved you so much I let you pretend… because you brought something to my days I couldn’t stand the thought of losing…Listen to your heart Catheryne. Feel it pounding.”

“Your time is up.”

“Then my last words… I love you Catheryne.”

“You’re determined to die with a lie on your lips?!”

Dangerously yours was a radio show from the mis 1940's with 16 episodes (You can only find 13) each one 30 minutes long, everything was published (?) By Vicks. 'masquerade' is the first one. I had to steal the transcript from a comment in s Youtube video. For the younger generations, this one is that infamous sample in "cigarrettes out of the window" by TV girl. Do You know about anything like this in the fandom? Also an analysis is coming in another ask. I wish this finds you on excellent conditions.

my first au born of nostalgia(?

context: black pearl begins to have small flashbacks about what happened with lord oyster and her pearl, so she decides to go in search of it, assuming that it could give her an answer from sea fairy. her only chance is at a masquerade organized by the oyster house, where she meets again with the only cookie in the party who knows of her existence.
