Due to Morten's passion for Orchids he has two named after him: the "Masdevallia Morten Harket" and the "Liparis Harketii" named in his honour by an a-ha fan and German scientist, Dorothee Killman.
”When I was about 14 I read a novel about an upper class English lady who painted watercolours of orchids. I had never heard of them before. But even the word, orchid, hit quite a deep, resonant chord in me. That was very strange, because I had never seen one. They’re in all the supermarkets now but they were rare in the 1970s. On tour I would always go off scouting for orchids, to avoid people… climbing trees in tropical regions. They are the most highly developed plants. Their needs are very basic, they break down organic material and leave the soil for other plants. I read everything I could find and I still have hundreds of the names still in my head.”

it’s such a well written fic but unfortunately unfinished at the moment!! speaking of jumin already married fics, i read urs and it was SO GOOD (bc it wasn’t sarah and also ms other woman seemed much much cooler). but now like theoretically i wholeheartedly believe u could not keep jumin away from mc that long anyways, they’re like magnets?!

Mediocalcar decoratum, yes that is an orchid!

Macodes sanderiana 'Gold Dust'
Not pictured, the 6 orchids I purchased not in bloom, plus peacock selaginella, Alsobia dianthiflora, and Episcia 'Emerald Velvet '. I am extremely pleased!

idk if i shared either but ive had numerous orchid dreams almost all of my pleasant or memorable dreams involve orchids. one was me in these imposibly tall trees discovering and identifying completely new miniature orchids and collecting specimens. i remember after coming down from these trees with these spendid tiny tiny orchids i was handed a tiny masdevallia by a friend who i dont know who they were but they were my friend. and i forgot the rest but i woke up feeling magical and so happy
