2. Something you'd really ike to do/see/a place to visit

I’d love to go to Australia. When I was in the 5th grade, in 2000, the Olympics were in Sydney, so we did a whole unit at school on Australia. Then that fall, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen starred in their iconic film Our Lips Are Sealed, and my fate was sealed. I would be Australia obsessed forevermore.

3. Your most cherished childhood memory

Spending time at our ice shack with my family. Nothing beat hot dogs on the wood stove, playing go fish, Scrabble and Yahtzee, skating on the frozen lake, and if we were really lucky, having a sleepover there. There’s nothing like going to bed in your chilly sleeping bag, then waking up so hot and sweaty from the wood fire that you have to run outside for a few minutes to cook down at 3am. There’s no way to describe how small you feel on an endless, snow covered lake, with nothing for miles and miles, and the sky completely filled with stars above you.

(I’ve got the white pyjamas in the first photo and the pigtails in the second!)

Just stumbled across an old post from you that said you could info dump about the Olsen twins for hours-would you mind sharing what you know? I’ve always been so curious about them

As a heads up though, I don't necessarily mean a detailed description of their lives bc this is my late 90s to early 2000s info dump of my favourite things about them

My firST favourite vid of them was this music video which I watched in 2003 on Yahoo but I can't find that one anymore so here's a 2006 youtube upload

The natural pipeline from there went to reading ALL of their 90s-early 2000s books.

And the first movie series of theirs I got into was You're Invited To Mary-Kate and Ashley's Sleepover Party and all the other iconic movies (worthy of a different post)

After that I started watching their show So Little Time and I can remember going to my friends house and watching new episodes on their rabbit-ear TV.

Bahhaha, I even has MK&A purses, pants, shirts, and then even their later shit that wasn't flood-pants and babydoll tops that looked like this

Essentially them being my emo inspiration about 5 years before I was mychem emo lmao . Also listened to MK&A's music first ooPS

As for their personal lives- its pretty rough. Triggering in an ED sort of way. Not something I think would be healthy to elaborate on.

But yeah! Literally I have seen ALL of their movies, read ALL of their books and now no one talks abt them, I literally have a special interest in a lost era

anyone remember the sleepover party mary-kate and ashley movie? like the “you’re invited to” movies…?well, in the sleepover party one, there’s a song the kids sing about pizza. like it’s literally called “gimme pizza” 😂 (anyone who’s seen it knows what i’m talking about and you know how catchy it is. it’s kinda hard to forget that song lol)

so anyway, because my brain is the way it is, i think about that song randomly from time to time. but when i do, my brain will sometimes change the lyrics to whatever i’m craving at that time 😅 and currently, i’m (not surprisingly) craving cuddles lol. so in my head i keep thinking/singing, “i want cuddles! c-u-d-d-l-e-s! gimme cuddles!” 😂 just over and over again lol.

Friday Night Sleepovers #4: Gimme Pizza On this Friday night, Luciana Vega, Leslie Pollard (Rewigged TM #39), Mia St. Clair, and Jess McConnell wanted to pull it off like Mary Kate and Ashley by having making a P-I-Z-Z-A. They scrounged the refrigerator and pantry to get supplies and worked together to build a pizza (to look like a work of art like the Mona Lisa). The end result was picture perfect. They all enjoyed a slice of the pizza.

I also wanted to include an extra image of the string lights I put on the to of the bed. I got them at the Dollar Tree if you would like to get the same ones. Keep in mind they do not include batteries, so you will have to find some to on your own to get them to light up.

when i was a kid i watched a bunch of those mary kate and ashley vhs movies and let me tell you nothing on earth is an earworm like those songs were. i haven’t seen those vids in probably 15+ years i remember practically no details i only vaguely remember some themes. you know what i do remember? the song about pulling an all-nighter. that’s how i know there was a sleepover one.

#we're pullin pullin pullin an all nighter till the sun comes marching through...#those last few words might be wrong. but i remember the tune #because periodically it will play in my head just like two or three lines #over a decade this has been happening #good idea generator #sometimes i think looking up the song and remembering all of it would free me #but that also could make it worse because what if it is really catchy and now my brain just plays it with more clarity and for longer
