Forgive me for I don’t know what I gain
Alone in this garden of pain
Enchantment has but one truth:
I weep to have what I fear to lose
Nightwish, Gethsemane
So many older bands have two versions. Usually there's a falling out which leads to a rights split and parallel bands are born. It's not exactly like that in this case.
Anyway, they can call it 'Wishnight'
Don't know how to feel about Tarja and Marko performing together
I love their rekindled friendship, healing smiles and it is obvious this reconnecting was a big thing for Marko.
However
Can't help but feel like it is just a tiny bit of a sleazy move to perform Nw songs when neither of them want to be in the actual band. Yes they perform only a few old songs together and it is their music too but I just can't shake the feeling that it is to sell tickets with the old bands name.
Also it seems Marko's departure wasn't as amicable as portrayed and that only adds up to the bad feeling I have.
When I heard about the shared tour between them I hoped and wished they'd have the guts to not sing single Nw track (which Phantom and the Opera is not) and rely on their very own solo material.
Now we end up with the actual band and then this...weird cover act of old members.
