More Barcus because he’s my little king. I also went into the character creator and made Lithe! Wish there were more long braid options, but alas I am on PS5, not PC, so no mods.

Also sorry the line is a little different from the prompt. I wrote this from memory during a slow point at work today, so I didn’t remember it exactly right. 🤣

"How could you ever doubt that I love you?" Lithe demanded.

Barcus gave a wry snort. "Is that supposed to be a joke?"

"Do I look like I'm fucking laughing?" She crossed her arms over her chest and fixed the gnome with a look that had frequently sent even Astarion looking for somewhere else to cause trouble. Barcus however, held his ground admirably.

"Well, let's just see, shall we?" he tilted his chin up in defiance. "You're a beautiful elven woman who murders evil-doers for fun, and I'm, what? A useless little gnome who can't take two steps without being kidnapped and isn't even worth enough to his own oldest friend to keep around."

"Wulbren. Is. A. Cunt." Lithe punctuated each word by tapping the knife-edge of one hand into the palm of the other. "Elistraee's divine merciful tits, you're so caught up with him you can't even see your own worth!"

"Maybe he's right!" Barcus cried, throwing his hands up.

"Maybe doves will fly out of my ass," came the sarcastic retort, at which Barcus scoffed. "I mean it, you're wonderful! You're clever and funny and brave--"

"Ha!" the smaller man puffed himself up. "Brave! You're the one chasing down mad cultists and stabbing at giant monsters, or whatever it is you do. I just..." he gestured helplessly toward the little workbench he’d set up on the corner of the inn. "Sit here and…tinker."

Lithe sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. She could argue with him until the sun went down and came back up again, but he was as stubborn as she was. The elf took a deep breath and slung her bow off her shoulder, knocking an arrow in almost the same motion. The gnome's eyes widened a bit and he took a step back.

"See that spider on the wall over there?" she pointed.

Barcus squinted. There was a tiny dark blob on a plank across the room, just above Rolan’s head. "Sort of."

Without taking her eyes off of him, Lithe pulled and shot her arrow. Barcus followed the arrow's flight and watched it sink deep into the wall with a dull thunk. The dark blob was now a little blobbier. Several people screamed, including Rolan, between whose horns the arrow had arced perfectly. Jaheira rose from where she’d hit the deck and shouted “Stop shooting arrows in my inn!”

Lithe ignored her. “Dead center. You can check if you’d like.”

"I wouldn't like," the gnome shook his head and began to wonder if picking a fight with such a terrifying woman had been such a clever idea.

"Barcus," she said evenly as she holstered her bow again, the inn’s occupants glaring at her and muttering. "I was born and raised to fight the worst this world has to offer and then some. I've trained for this kind of thing for a hundred years. Literally one hundred. Going after monsters is what I DO. That's not bravery, that's a Wednesday."

"I don't think you're making the point you think you're making."

Lithe held deceptively small hands out imploringly. "You're an artificer. Your area of expertise is libraries and workshops, not beasties and wilderness. But you took off into the unknown anyway, for the sake of your friend. You survived goblins and ghouls and slave labor at the hands of duergar and drow and crossed through the Shadowlands, all because you love someone so much you can't bear the thought of them facing such dangers alone. Barcus, that is so very brave I can't even stand it. Very brave, and very stupid, but it's an admirable kind of stupid."

Barcus crossed his arms over his chest and leveled an exasperated look at her. "Have you often been told you're terrible at declarations of love?"

"Quite often."

He sighed. He rubbed a hand down his face and sighed again. Lithe waited patiently.

“I absolutely hate it when you do this, but..." With world-weary reluctance, he lifted his arms. Lithe squealed and snatched him up into a bone-breaking hug, snuggling into the crook of his neck. Barcus tried not to squirm too much and let himself enjoy the way her breasts smushed against his torso. "You're a good girl," he muttered fondly, stroking her soft, herbal-scented hair. He very much enjoyed the little laugh and slight shiver that coursed through her, and tucked that interesting bit of information away for later.

"I'm not a girl, I'm a lady," she insisted playfully as she set him back down.

"A woman maybe, but certainly not a lady," Barcus grumbled, making a great show of straightening his clothes out. She may have been a proper adult at 110, but he was a good thirty years her senior. Not an unreasonable difference when one lived to be four hundred or more, but at least enough to tease someone about.

"I can punt you just as easily as I did Wulbren," she reminded him with a sweet smile as she turned to wander back out into the common area of the inn. Several nosy heads disappeared from around the corners and one person had the audacity to actually whistle innocently. Apparently her show with the arrow had drawn the patrons’ attention to their little drama. Barcus shook his head.

"Lithe, wait..." he called before he could think better of it. She paused and turned with a mild look of surprise and curiousity. "I...I care about you, too. Really, I do,” he promised earnestly. “I just need a little time, I think."

Lithe smiled sadly at him and continued on her way. Too late Barcus realized time was one thing she definitely didn’t have.

Spoiler for those who have not played baldur’s gate 3 or haven’t finished playing everything yet for Astarion. Idk if things happen with each companion’s story regardless of who you romance (I’m thinking like Otome games when you pick someone and everyone else’s story falls to the background )

So tiktok got me in a rabbit hole that is romancing Astarion from Baldur’s gate. And I’m gobbling up as much fanfiction as I can on tumblr and ao3. It’s so crazy bc I can’t play this on my laptop it’s a simple school laptop I’ve had for a few years so I doubt I could. And I think I seen something about it being playable on ps5 and I don’t have it like that. Took a long minute just to get a switch. So what I’m saying is it’s crazy how obsessed I am over a game I can’t play. So I’ve been watching cutscenes and edits and reading fic. As much as I would love to add by doing my own fics I don’t feel confident with my limited information about the world of the game in general so I rather share an idea I have an idea for a fic instead.

So I’ve been hearing about ascended vs non ascended Astarion and I think the general consensus is it’s better in the long run not to especially with how he treats the player(or tav??) and how vastly different than preascension or if you never ascend him. So hear me out. Time travel.

Like Tav ascends Astarion and they realize when it’s too late that it’s was a wrong idea. He turns tav into a spawn and he promises never to control them as he was before. But he’s high on power and let’s say tav realizes this isn’t the same man they fell for they may want out or they don’t jump to agree to do things he’s wanting them to do. Then he does the unthinkable and forces tav to do something they don’t want to, it doesn’t have to be r*pe (I prefer it not to) it could be he forces tav to kill someone or bring him pray (bringing that abuse with his old master full circle). Or maybe he’s feeling himself as a powerful and attractive vampire he can have anyone, why ‘settle’ for tav? What if takes another ‘consort’ and tav is betrayed. This is the thanks they get after helping him ascend?

So tav could somehow end up dead, maybe the new consort murdered them with their guard down, maybe in despair they step into the sun. They don’t want eternal life if they can’t be his only. They don’t want forever with a man they don’t recognize. They wished they can do things differently. Or (like some transmigration theme manwha) they go to bed crying and hurt thinking ‘if only I stopped him, this isn’t the Astarion I knew’ and they’re filled with regret. Or they can even stumble across a magic item (again idk what kinda magic or what’s possible in this universe I’ve only seen random cutscenes on tiktok). Anyway tav wakes up back in time. Back from before it can be right before the ritual or ideally it can be further back. Tav is shocked, confused they just died/went to sleep after getting the worst betrayal of their life. How can they be back with all their companions and Astarion and they have to make different choices with him to be able to guide him off the path of darkness that will come with ascending. The back in time thing is literally the same as when you restart a save file bc you wanted to see the outcome of your choices before committing to them. Only in this story tav gets one shot of course. So it’s like tav goes back in time and they choose if they want to romance him all over (depending on how far tav goes back) or just save him and never look back (but like of course tav stays bc this is the Astarion they love and remembers so by the end they’re so happy when they get all that sweet stuff with non ascended Astarion. Rather if he or anyone else other than tav finds out about the time jump is up to you, the writer. Maybe he gets random moments of dejavu and perhaps when the outcome changes he’s a bit confused. Maybe right before shit hits the fan he has a nightmare about the old timeline I could see that being how he remembers. And like the guilt (bc by this point he’s in love with tav) like how could this have happened? He cause so much pain to the one he loves. And like maybe he chooses himself not to do the ritual rather than others trying to stop him. That’s a fun idea to toy with too. But I think tav being stressed about making the choices all over us fun too.

Anyway someone please write this. Or if someone has and you’ve seen it link me tag me whatever I gotta read.

Gonna talk about this but make a like no spoiler area

God I absolutely love the game at the start loosing my shit over marco and his entire story line was so sweet and tragic and being able to get more inside his mind (quite literally) was so cool

Honestly the only thing I didn’t like about the game was killing off the villains, as far as I remember the main confirmed kill was Scorpion I hope not vulture. But even if Kraven did kill him it felt a lil cheap, and old man dying of spinal cancer even for Kraven it would of felt like an unworthy or even unfair fight.

Venom and Harry’s story line amazing loved it along with all the other symbiots and seeing lizard was 👍👍👍

I did love and hate the boss mechanics, like fighting the same boss over and over again was really fun but got a bit boring.

And seeing Otto at the end made me loose my mind I really do hope in the next game we a moment with Otto and Peter in similar fashion to Miles and Lee that just pure hatred from what they took away from them. And hopefully fingers crossed we see the green goblin in the next game. And ofc a Peek inside ottos journal.

As much as I’d love to see all the six together again keeping some of them in the dark does add to mystery and makes it all the more exciting when they appear.

I have yet to finish all the side missions just the main story so I could very easily be missing details or other lil bits but over all yes I loved it so much it was heartbreaking it was exciting full of action and I would play it all day

ok, after spending like, my entire week of vacations playing dragon's dogma 2 (56 hours thus far and still plenty more to go--wanna explore the whole map before heading to the final boss!), as a new fan i gotta say i fucking love it.

the initial reviews and receptions were wildly exaggerated, at least in my opinion. i've never even seen the microtransactions nor have i seen the need to do them. yes it’s shitty that these even exist in the first place and yes capcom should be criticized for apparently making them mandatory but…idk the way people were talking about it made it seem like you’d be forced to use them because getting those items would be harder to get in-game. also i'm playing the ps5 version so i never saw any performance issues. my only gripe is that the fast travel kind of sucks in this game, i've been careful with my ferrystones and i just finally got my fourth portcrystal lol so traveling to the volcanic island or whatever should be much easier now that i can place another portcrystal there. but yeah i do wish there was a way to instantly transport back to a town and not have to like, constantly run back and forth between places. but whatever, it hasn't been THAT big of a deal except in like just a handful of quests. but yeah, if people stopped playing it or didn't pick it up just because of the microtransactions, then that's really a shame because they're missing out on an awesome game.

i had spent like 90% of my playthrough playing as a fighter because i'm not much of a mage/sorcerer person, and i tried the mystic spear but i couldn't get the hang of it so i just switched back lol. i then tried the archer one but immediately ran into a drake before i actually got the hang of fighting with the bow and got my ass promptly handed to me, so i got intimidated and switched back to warrior again :'v and i'm kind of sad i did because i recently switched once again to archer and man, i've been having a lot of fun! taking down large monsters has been way easier/faster while i let my thief and warrior go at it up close, i was even handling a drake much better before it ran away (it went into vernworth so fighting there was kind of awkward)... but yeah, been enjoying the archer class a lot more now, so idk maybe once i master it i'll try the magick archer one too :)

anyway!! i'm sure i'll have more thoughts once i'm done with the game, but i never expected to absolutely love this game and have it absorb my free time so much. i never played eldin ring because it sort of intimidated me and i thought this game would too, but man i'm so glad i picked it up and chose to spend most of my vacation playing it. exploring every inch of the map has been such a blast and i'm going to be sad once i finally do beat the final boss, ALTHOUGH i've heard that there's like, postgame quests??? so those should be fun! and honestly i won't be opposed to doing a new game+ run lol if the ending doesn't suck then dare i say that this game will sneak into being on the list of my favorite games ever. what a fantastic game, i didn't think i was going to enjoy yet another open world game, but here we are.

so I am finally playing this game.

AND BRO? YOU GET TO PLAY AS "VENOM" WHEN IT TAKES OVER HARRY AGAIN? this is literally the best thing ever. I know it's a villain but DAMN gimme the CARNAGE I am thoroughly enjoying this shit, I love this thing it's a damn beast.

what can I say, I love the destruction. heroes are great and all but gimme THAT SHIT. maybe I love the bad guys so much because real life I'm a giant sensitive marshmallow. clearly, the fake life needs to be the opposite.

ANYWAYS the point is, this game is fire. I wish we could just play "venom" rampaging through New York and forget about Spider Man. Sorry SM I love you but... But also I freaking LOVE the new design for "the lizard" that is some crazy stuff, I wanna play as the lizard too.

Omg omg I started playing Balder Gate recently too and I’m loving it!

I had several friends in August who were clamouring for me to play it, so I got it as soon as it came out on PS5, and within days I was clamouring at even more friends to play it, so it's been a hilarious pay-it-forward situation 😂❤ Also, my dash is literally 50% Baldur's Gate posts that I'm filtering so I don't get spoiled and I can't wait to see all the art and memes everyone has been making LOL.

I too am hoping to write fic for the game!!! The world is so rich and THE COMPANIONS ARE SO SO FUN. As much as I adore the GAIA Gang, I've REALLY MISSED having companions who can actually travel with you and express opinions during quests and who can also have actual interactions between themselves that we can witness on-screen. It's filling in the Dragon Age-shaped hole in my heart so good 😭❤

As for romancing: SPOILER ALERT but since you asked😂😂 I'm currently fucking Astarion casually (HE'S SUCH A SHITHEAD [AFFECTIONATE]) but my end goal is to romance Halsin. HE'S AN 8-FOOT-TALL WALL OF GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS MAN AND I CAN'T WAIT TO CLIMB HIM. I have fondly labelled him as Bearfucker Halsin because of this infamous scene from the early release, which my friend showed me before I started playing the game or knew who anyone was, and when he appeared in my game I was like SDJKFGHDLFKGJH IT'S BEARFUCKER 😂😂😂

Just some information about me and this tumblr.

Hi, just refer to me as Bliss or Blissy. I’m a 26 year old cis female. I identify as demisexual and I am autistic with social anxiety. I can be a little awkward in conversations but I’m a good listener. I’m an introvert and always have been but I try to be friendly - but sorry if I’m socially awkward.

Your stuff is amazing, I love to see it. Creativity has never been my strong point, hence why I used to post only screenshots. However, I’m all for spreading positivity around here and the only way to improve is to keep trying.

Content on this tumblr will be safe for work, Dragon Ball is a series aimed at teens and I want to respect that. I just like seeing the more wholesome or funny side of things. Also, it’s just personal preference, as I know how quickly somethings can be taken out of context. I just want to have this be a safe place for everyone.

Also, I don’t mind ocs at all. Nor am I a crazy shipper who gate keeps or insists my way or no way. I like seeing other perspectives and I will always respect opinions. First of all, I'm Karlach. I have Karlach levels of game. So, I partially find this scene incredibly endearing and would 1000% absolutely have drug her away from camp as soon as she tried.... Whatever that was out. Party raging be damned. Who cares if they hear us?

That being said... Why do you only get this cute, bumbling confession if she knows you already agreed to meet up with someone? Lae'zel and Shadowheart's scenes both trigger automatically, Karlach's only triggers automatically if you're interested in another companion. Otherwise, you have to admit your crush on her.

Sure, okay, she can't actively touch you yet... but romance isn't just about sex. Shadowheart's first scene is pretty chaste too and she can touch people and is FAR from a saint.

Even if you argue that Karlach is lacking in confidence from her ten years spent in Avernus... Even if it's because she doubts you'd pick her over the other companions because she can't touch. It feels... gross. This feels very "polyamorous is bad but cheating is okay." Idk how else to articulate that thought in another way right now?

Neither Karlach or Shadowheart strike me as overtly monogamous. I could see them agreeing to be monogamous for a partner but they have literal dialogue in the game that contradicts itself. Karlach offers Tav or the origin characters the chance to see other people until her second upgrade. She has a fantasy in her origin run about a threesome with a woman and a man.

If you start romancing Shadowheart and then have a scene with Karlach, she immediately tells you that you seem happier. She wishes she was the source of your happiness but wishes you and Karlach the best... in this interaction, you can defend your stance on the matter and say, "I'm not a swan, I don't mate for life." Shadowheart still declines, stating that Karlach deserves to have you to herself.

Also Shadowheart, if you're romancing her and fuck Mizora: "I know I'm not dating a swan, I don't expect you to mate for life. But tell me next time and remember that I have needs as well." (Or something similar, I watched it on youtube out of curiosity.)

That's blatant using the same type of line in two completely and contradictory ways? And also her saying she's okay with you fucking other people but not actually?? She also still finds Karlach attractive and it's clearly mutual. My sapphic, polyamorous lizard brain does not compute any of this in a way that makes sense????

Please just let me be polyamorous on PS5 without mods. Because this is like the first thing I've seen for this game that doesn't sit right with me.

And it also kills me because Karlach is too sweet for that. She literally just said that she thinks there's actually someone soft behind Shadowheart's spiky exterior. Why would the sweetest girl in camp state a few seconds later that she wants to steal you away? 🤔

1. video games - been playing nintendo since I was a kid and I just bought myself a PS5 recently. I love playing games man, some of the best stories I’ve ever heard have come from video games

2. youtube - for obvious reasons. love watching dumb people (affectionate) on the internet. also making my smosh edits has been so much fun

3. writing - i love writing fanfic when I get inspired. I’ve had my Ao3 for like 6 years and it’s almost embarrassing how many I’ve written in that time, but it’s just really fun

40. Why yes, yes I very much do. Nowadays while I still ultimately align with DC overall, I have been recently gather more Marvel comics and can confidently place their cinematic universe over almost anything DC had more for theaters since at least 2012.

45. Kara. You just have to go with Kara on this one. She deserves every bit of praise and respect she gets even despite being more mainstream

50. Since I actually own the first game, I’ll say Injustice though I really wish to get Arkham Asylum and City one day cause those look fun. (Also maybe get a PS5 eventually for the two Spider-Man games but I digress lol)

Ok so i just played the final main mission of Horizon Forbidden West. And I have to say, I expected a lot more from it. I'm not going to tell any spoilers in this post.

I'm writing this at 4.30am... I must make this confession.

The ending felt bland and rushed.

In a way, the ending wasn't bad, it was just poorly executed. Most of the wonderful and exciting scenes were in cutscenes. Most of the mission was exactly what the whole game is 24/7 - climb, kill a couple of machines and climb some more. Listen to Erend complaining😂. Most of the time you don't engage in the actual battle. Sure, maybe it shows that aloy has finally learned to trust others and let others fight for her. But as a player I at least wish I could participate a bit more.

I love the battle with Eric. It was exciting. Something about that man makes me nervous. I guess you could even say he's quite scary. I'm a chill player just looking for a good time, so I played on the easiest possible difficulty level - story difficulty. Being level 50, the boss fight with Eric wasn't hard at all but I was super nervous the whole time. I was quite surprised you could actually hide from him and he'd start to search for you - he actually came after you if he heard or saw something. I spent some time just running away from him, hiding. I'm pretty sure I heard him whistle and saying things like "I can smell your fear". And that dude moved like the flash. Caught me by surprise.

However, the very last bossfight of the game did not please me. It was really stupidly planned, at least in my opinion. Besides, it was over in a minute. A couple of shots, then an explosion and it's game over.

All in all, I didn't feel like I was playing the final, great ending mission that Aloy and her friends prepared for the whole game. I felt like I was watching a video where I sometimes had to fight a little here and there. It wasn't terrible, I just expected more.

What I liked about the ending is how we can see Sylens pretty much changing as a person. I never liked him until the end. Maybe that's kind of the idea. Also, Regalla was such a great character in the end. There's also some lines from Aloy that I found quite interesting. Like "why didn't you just let me choose", she sounded a bit sad and maybe even regretful...

The end game was pretty bad to be honest. I was looking forward to talking to the allies and GAIA, but that was not possible. At least not the way I wanted. Aloy didn't really say much about the zeniths or the final battle. But well, that's just how it is. I'm glad forbidden west has something to call endgame, after all that didn't even exist in Zero Dawn.

I've heard the new dlc Burning Shores will be set after the main story, kinda making it endgame I guess. Unfortunately, I'm a PS4 player, so I can't play that. Well, at least I can think of it as Burning Shores waiting for me when I finally get my ps5. And it's confirmed Horizon will be getting a 3rd game, which is of course nice.

There probably isn't much else to say. I don't know if many people agree with me. But this is just my opinion. Also I just started replaying the whole series, starting from Zero Dawn. Truly amazing games, I love them both. Forbidden west might even be in my top 5 favorite games👀
