IGGY ART/DOODLE DUMP💚🐍✨

Hi all!! It’s been a minute :D PLEASE bear with me I have so much I wanna say😭 Here’s a bunch of a traditional doodles I’ve whipped up recently, I also added an aggie piece I did of Iggy :3

BUT FIRST PSA, i had a name change on here! I was previously “koopaling-enthusiast” (in case some of my followers are confused😭),, i changed my insta account to the same username as my current too (wackiwhimsi) :3 … I wanted a change to include my sona’s name (who hopefully in the coming months i can finally post on here🥳)

ALSO ALSO GUHHH,,, AS U CAN SEE IGGY IS MY HYPERFIX NOW,!,!!!! U_U i just can’t stop drawing him man!! as a fellow silly person, i must do my due diligence in drawing the silly as well :D (he rlly does live in my brain though,, a rent free tenant SMH…. But i don’t have it in my heart to kick him out mannn!!!! Cx) OH HES ALSO MY MAIN IN MK8 NOW SO THATS BEEN PRETTY FUN TOO!!! :3

If i’m being 100% transparent, I’ve also kinda been going through it recently in terms of my art…sometimes I feel like I’m not improving at the rate I want to be :c But!!! Recently i’ve also been hearing extremely kind, supportive words from friends/supporters, and that’s what’s been keeping me going☺️ gave me a huge confidence boost. yall know who you are!!! <3 The support means SO MUCHHH more to me than you could ever imagine. Koopaling luvrs unite!!!

Also!!! I’ve getting more art supplies recently, experimenting with acrylic paint markers, prismacolors, copics, and so much more. Excited for how this can help me translate all of the other countless koopaling visions i have in my brain at the moment (and boy do I have A LOT😅)…. Hm, I also find that I’m more creative when I’m drawing in my backyard/when I’m outside so that’s what I’ve been doing :)

“The Inquisitor And Her Commander”

As some of you may have noticed, I am a huge fan of the Dragon Age games, especially Dragon Age Inquisition. Last year, I had planned on drawing all the main [playable] characters up until Dragon Age Day (which took place on December 4th), but I just didn’t have time to draw more than three characters (the Inquisitor, Solas, & Varric…please check them out in my gallery) due to being busy with work and other things. I’ll eventually draw the other characters when I gather more motivation to do so.

For now, please enjoy this piece. I hope everybody likes this. I worked very hard on this artwork. It took longer than usual to create, due to all the small details, the poses, & the armour. (Armour is not easy to draw for me!) For those of you who are DAI fans, you may recognize the flowers: Crystal Grace on the bottom and Andraste’s Grace on the top. I know Andraste’s Grace is not in DAI, but I thought it would be pretty to add to the artwork (since it technically exists in the Thedas world).

My OC Inquisitor is named Bryony Trevelyan. She is actually my 2nd Inquisitor character, the first one having been an elf (which I may draw someday). I had been playing DAI for the 3rd time, a few months ago, as a male character (since I wanted him to be in a romance with Dorian, so yes, my male Inquisitor is gay), but I stopped for a bit since I am playing Skyrim at the moment (with updates & mods). Anyway, back on the main subject: I drew Inquisitor Bryony Trevelyan in the Armor of the Dragon Hunter outfit (from the Jaws of Hakkon DLC), which I had altered the colours by tinting it with Veil Quartz. I based her crown from concept art for DAI. So much armour in the game! Which I love, especially since the DA games don’t give female characters the stereotypical skimpy outfits…I love that I get to make my female characters wear bad-ass armour.

Cullen Rutherford is such an adorable and slightly awkward character around my Inquisitor. I knew I had to romance him right away, because his looks are the type of man I am attracted to in real life. (I’m not going to lie…in the game, he’s hot for a video game character. Ha ha!) I’ve always enjoyed the flirting in the DA games when it comes to the relationships. The best scene was right before their first kiss, when Cullen got interrupted by a member of the Inquisition, and then got mad about it. Ha ha. I liked when my Inquisitor asked Cullen, “The day you kissed me on the battlements…how long had you wanted to do that?” And Cullen replied (with a laugh), “Longer that I should admit.” Awwwww.

I also liked the part in the Winter Palace, when all these people were flirting with Cullen, and one asked him, “Are you married, Commander?” And Cullen replied, “Not yet, but I am…already taken.” Double awwww, because a loyal man is so dreamy. :3 I actually had Bryony & Cullen get married in the last DLC. :3 They adopt a Mabari (dog), too!

I love DAI too much. :D It’s such a fun game with the most gorgeous graphics (especially on the Xbox Series X).

Drawn with Sakura Pigma Micron pens, then coloured in with a mixture of Copic Markers & Ohuhu Markers. I used Koi Watercolours for the background. White accents done with both a gel pen and white watercolour. Gold acrylic was used for the Inquisition Symbol & the lines, which the scanner absolutely murders...the gold is such a pretty, shimmery metallic in real life. The light green around my art was done in Photoshop Elements.

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even): Left is easiest, Right is in the middle, and forward is the hardest of those three for me.

3. What ideas come from when you were little: I was fascinated by G/T from like. 3 years old. I blame Super Mario Land 2 LMAO

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw: Handheld, perspective, monsters/creatures, and massive scale

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself: Uhhh probably about 50/50? A lot of things I draw are spoilers, shitposts, and other study art I don't bother sharing.

6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it): Not that I can think of? My art doesn't get analyzed super often. I think people think I study anime more than I do.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate: Charcoal, watercolors, sculpture, oil pastels, acrylic, copic markers

8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in: Originally I was going to make an AMV with my two characters, Nonny and Felicia, to the song 'shut up and dance with me'. These two aren't active OCs anymore, and the project was WAY too ambitious for my skill level 9 years ago lmao.

9. What are your file name conventions: 1: Name of song I listened to on loop while drawing. 2: An inside joke. 3: Literal rep of what's on the canvas like 'Hema doodles Aug 2023'.

10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw: Body suits, capes, scarves

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what: TONS. My fave lyrical music, videogame soundtracks, sometimes just ambiance if I'm overwhelmed. Usually tho it's the same song on loop till I get the inspired piece out of my system.

12. Easiest part of body to draw: Eyes!

13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing: A lot of NSFW artists who I won't list here LMAO. I don't go to that school, but their art skills are top-notch.

14. Any favorite motifs: Mirrors, doppelgangers, leaving 1 eye absent for emotional effect, feathers/wings, falling, sinking into water, eyes, dark palettes with bright accents/light sources, glowing eyes, flowing hair, size difference/scale, fucked up version of self vs real version

15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth): Starbucks, home, parks if I'm feelin spicy, anywhere I take my tablet for the day.

16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing: A lot of my niche/kink stuff tends to get pretty dredge-y for me. I may be good at it, but it's not where my passion lies. That's in animation, fantasy, dramatic stuff, storytelling, etc.

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what: Water or Snapple for the drink, milk if it's bedtime so I can settle down, and then usually the snacks are just whatever my lunch is for the day since we don't have a table.

18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken: Not many! Less than $100 I'd say. I'm very careful with my supplies, and I don't believe I've ever broken a tablet. The worst I've done was I busted 1 or 2 cheap tablet pens with stupidity.

19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.): Definitely nature. Tree trunks and swirls therein, flowers, grass.

20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy: Humans! Not that it's an 'everyone' thing, I just run in some furry circles where human artists are a rarity. Eyes, too. Some people find expressions rly hard.

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways: Uhhh man damn, I don't follow a lot of art styles that aren't something I took inspo from? But I guess Wolf Walkers is my biggest one.

22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any: Sooometimes I stretch, but I don't do it nearly often enough.

23. Do you use different layer modes: Yep! My most common ones are Multiply, Glow Dodge, Add, Add Glow, Overlay, Pin Light, and Color.

24. Do your references include stock images: Absolutely! Reference is important.

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by: Not much! Most of my inspirations are pretty clear-cut and strong. Avatar, SU, Disney, Dreamworks, FMA, some Warner Brothers' movies, etc.

26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended: God, so, the G/T gif of mine that makes the rounds a lot? The one where VT finds someone small and it's their POV and he helps them and puts them in his shirt pocket??? Most people were completely normal about that post. But then there's one chuckle-head who was calling it pocket-vore, and I wanted to scream. I even chastised them like 'hey uh, no. That's not what this is.' and they argued back with 'well it's up to the eye of the beholder more than your opinion.' and I was like 'UH NO. I MADE THIS. MY OPINION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR WEIRD ONE???' I've also RAAARELY had people call my characters underaged when they're all well over 21, so those are always gross/wild LMAO.

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with: Sometimes! I usually do an anatomy study, brush stroke warm-ups, or just doodle something personal first.

28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines): I think Multi Animator Projects [MAPS] would count here! I was part of Starclan's Chosen, Change Your Mind [Brambleclaw], Levitating, Family of Me [fallenleaves], Goosebumps Warriors MAP, Pay No Mind MEP, LA Devotee [never finished], White Rabbit, and Fear Garden! 29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically: Not much! Pretty much everything I love inspires me artistically. I guess some anime styles?

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated: Pretty much any of my animations. But I only feel that way cuz they take THE MOST dedication and work time. Also kiiiinda my writing? But a lot of people have trouble getting people to respond to literature, so.

╰ * ꒰⠀⠀⠀⠀froy gutierrez. twenty-four. cis man. he/him.⠀⠀⠀⠀꒱ hold your f*** horses ! bastien herrera has just been spotted walking into revolution headquarters. they are best known for being the bassist in sleepy city riot and have been signed with the label for three months. they share a lot of interesting things about life in the music industry on their social media, so make sure you don’t forget to follow them at @BAUHAU5. fans know them for being overexcitable but i swear they’ve got an attentive side as well. maybe that explains why they’re always associated with copic marker doodles on dusty sneakers, coffeeshop receipts folded into origami frogs, waking up at noon and having ice cream for lunch. stan twitter even voted them most likely to respond to texts with only emojis or blurry selfies. we’ll see how they live up to that reputation.

bastien doesn’t come from a particularly musical background. growing up, he was really more of an artsy kid — the kind with paint-stained fingertips and crosshatch doodles in his notebooks; who hung out at art supply stores after school and bought pens and watercolours just because they were pretty. he picked up a bass for the first time in middle school and learned to sing for a girl he had a crush on, and he only continued with it on account of his more musically-inclined childhood friends deciding to start a lil band in high school. and while these days he does love making music and being with his bandmates more than anything, bastien has a sort of lingering impostor syndrome about it — like he’s only here because his friends are the talented ones, and he’s just lucky enough to come along for the ride. the source of that feeling probably comes from the fact that he couldn’t hack it at art school. it was always his passion, and getting into a good college out of state for it, despite his somewhat poor grades, was a dream come true — but three semesters in, he just… couldn’t do it anymore. classes were hard. fitting in was hard. being away from home was hard. the stress and anxiety led to him dropping out before the end of his first year, after which he just… went home. drifted around. babysat his younger siblings. worked a bunch of part-time jobs (including as a barista, a climbing gym attendant, a waiter, a flyer distributor and a stationery shop clerk). for all his insecurities, however, bastien’s always projected a soft sort of confidence: bright like sunshine and just as warm, incurably friendly and openly affectionate. while he does still have some “bummer feelings” (as he puts it) about being a college dropout, it’s easy for him to put it aside most days, especially if he has other things to focus on. most of the time, that’s the people around him — bastien’s an extrovert who feels most comfortable when he’s surrounded by his favourite human beings, and he tends to follow them around with all the eager adoration of an energetic puppy. so when his childhood friends eventually filtered on back home from their respective post-high school plans, he jumped at the opportunity to bring them all together again. and when the idea of starting up the band again began floating around, he didn’t really have any reservations. pursuing it seriously hadn’t really been the goal, then — it was just something fun for them all to do; go to open mics and play a few gigs as a fun thing to do together, just like when they were kids. he ended up taking it so much more seriously this time around, though. maybe it was because he didn’t want to feel like the weak link. or maybe it was because he hadn’t realised how much he still needed a creative outlet after he’d started setting art aside. but the bass — and the band — quickly became a prominent part of his life in the three years that soon came and went. …and when those three years culminated in a signed record deal with revolution? well, just maybe, it felt like a second chance for him to do this whole ‘growing up’ thing right.

bilingual, and fluent in both spanish and english. not the best speller in either, though. expect errors even in work emails or public social media posts.

bad at texting in general tbh. typing out full words?? worrying about spelling and punctuation?? nah bruh. you’re getting a string of barely comprehensible emojis or a badly-cropped selfie of him giving you a thumbs up.

big on bouldering. it’s his preferred physical activity, and one of his favourite methods to burn off steam or distract himself when overly stressed or restless.

speaking of — he very much has a tendency to get restless. he’s a fidgety sort, always bouncing a leg or fiddling with something on his hands. try to hold one limb down and a different one starts vibrating.

oldest of five kids, and so despite his carefree, almost careless disposition, he does also have a bit of a “big brother” vibe. protective. playful. an instinctive caregiver, and a lot more diligent/gentle about it than you might think.

he got himself his first apartment after sleepy city riot signed with revolution records, though he still visits his parents’ home often. known for having a “plant of the week” because he likes the idea of houseplants but can’t seem to keep them alive.

not the tallest boy at 5’8”, but his build and confident oddball charm have a tendency to make people assume he’s bigger than he is when they first see him in photos.

despite having set art aside on the professional scale, bastien still can’t quite separate himself from it. he doodles all the time (on napkins, on music sheets, on his shoes). his bass guitar is heavily sticker-bombed. he folds origami animals and then sneaks them in his friends’ pockets. he hasn’t felt brave enough to touch a canvas in years, but he’ll always have a lil bit of an artsy streak.

has a driver’s license, but has historically preferred to take public transport or to bike (he has a fixie he pretty much rides everywhere). the band’s growing fame and recognition hasn’t yet been an issue for him in this.

according to social media and the opinion of the general public, baz is a massive himbo. between the golden retriever energy and the obvious lack of academic interest, it’s not a hard label to stick on him. and sure, he may not be the sharpest knife in the… place where you keep the knives, and he may be beefier than your average bass player on account of the climbing, and he’s goofy and overexcitable and clumsy with words, but… hm. there was supposed to be a point in here somewhere.

far-sighted, so he has reading glasses (that he doesn’t often use, because he doesn’t often read…). the font size on his phone is also comically big because he has to hold it over a foot away to see anything on it.

friends. his bandmates obviously fall under this category, first and foremost, but baz is a naturally friendly person who seeks out the company of others, and so friends (or at the very least, people he considers to be his friends; their own opinions may vary) come easy to him. he's a highly affectionate and expressive sort, if a bit flighty, and is very likely to claim someone he met two seconds ago is his new favourite person.

celebrity crush. another person in the industry, possibly of greater fame, that bastien is just head-over-heels starstruck for. maybe they're a fellow bassist, or maybe they're part of a genre so far removed from scr's yet he can't help but swoon over them anyway. he's very likely to be drawn to people with incredible presence, both on-stage and off, and will display his usual over-the-top energy with an extra dose of fumbling over his words and his footing around them.

sibling-like relationship. gimme that sweet sweet sibling dynamic!! baz, as the eldest in a family of five kids, has spent a great deal of time being a responsible big brother when needed, and would happily adopt that role with others. that said, i think it could also be really sweet if he found someone that likes to treat him like their younger brother, and exasperatedly puts up with him being playful and childish while still being a lil endeared and protective toward him. bickering optional, but adored.

mutual confidant. baz prefers to be the light-hearted one in any given social circle, but it'd be nice (and intimately valued) if he had someone he wasn't afraid to be sincere and vulnerable and real with that goes both ways.

publicity stunt. fake relationships/feuds/whatever that's meant to be mutually beneficial in some way?? baz isn't very good at keeping up a front though, and if the dynamic between him and the person is very different in the public eye than it is out of it, things will either fall apart or lines will get blurred real quick.

misc. fellow bass players he can trade tips with (or just fawn over and admire); maybe a mentor of some kind (in the industry, in life afksdl); exes (on good or bad terms, the latter with the caveat that baz actively tries way too hard to make it be on good terms regardless); friends with benefits (he likes flirting and casual hook-ups but prefers it to be with people whose company he knows he enjoys beyond sex); people he's known since he was younger?

Backgrounds which I have drawn before are the worst.

You know, when you've spent a long time drawing forest scenery mostly on autopilot, just the meditative process of scribbling trees and bushes and other natural shapes, and you try to make it look natural and it's honestly pretty satisfying...

And then you draw another panel and you realize it has the same view of that forest from the same or close to same angle, and you got to draw the same forest again, but this time not as a stream of thought scribbling but referencing all the trees and bushes and other natural shapes and try to make it look like it's the same background forest. How many branches did that random tree in the back have? How many and where did you draw the spots on that birch over there? You really wanted to draw those mushrooms there, but now there's a character in an awkward place kinda in front of them, so how you gonna do them now? Good luck.

Like man, I wish I had copy+paste.

Also shading the darker characters. I love you, Surama and Morri, but maaaaaaan, they eat their way through so many pencil tips. (I am planning on changing the way I shade the comic to include Copic markers, but I'm waiting for the next book/chapter break so it won't be too visually jarring in case the effect ends up being too visible. Unfortunately I'm, like, in the middle of vook 5, so it's gonna take so dang many pages to get there. Bawww.) Shading in general takes forever and is kinda mind numbingly boring.

For fun things... Well, the characters are fun. Specially when they emote or interact, and make funny faces, those are fun. Specially specially Niavel, she got the chance to enter the comic late enough that I knew what kinds of character designs were the most fun, so I had the chance to specifically engineer her to be as fun to draw as I was capable of making (round, fluffy and requiring minimal amount of shading.)

It's "Mrs Madame" (not that it's important but as what you are asking me is part of a school work, it's better being precise 😳). Also, I'm French, English is not my native language, so feel free to fix any grammar/spelling mistake in my answers if you need to, no problem. I know how my "Frenglish" can be traumatizing sometimes 🙃

1- What inspires you to take different Marvel characters and put them into different settings, timelines, and costumes?

This is quite a difficult question even if it seems simple. 😶 I would say that I love taking the characters I love and make them "jump" out of their usual environment ( = from canon) in order to re-imagine their story to my tastes. It's a bit like in the show What if: what if the Avengers where characters from an Heroic Fantasy story ? What if the Avengers had a restaurant and were in charge of the menu ? What if the Avengers pose for Couture brands ? I find the process of reinterpreting canon very interesting.

If you talk more precisely about one my latest series, The Order of the Avengers, I could add that being French played a part somehow: it's in my culture, it's what is surrounding me, so it's normal I'm going to be sensitive to European medieval environments. For instance, I live about 30-40 minutes from the Cluny Museum - National Museum of the Middle Ages (Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge), the place where you can find The Lady and The Unicorn tapestries.

Anyway, reinterpreting characters, blending universes that should never have collided (The Avengers and European Medieval/Heroic Fantasy lore, The Avengers and baseball, etc...) is not only interesting, it's also a lot of fun and it also makes you, as an illustrator, push your limits and go out of your comfort zone. It stimulates your creativity and it gives you the possibility to mix several of your passions in one projects: the Avengers and food, the Avengers and Heroic fantasy, the Avengers and...whatever will inspire you this month. 😁Not to mention that drawing the Iron Man suit, Bucky's arm or Captain America's shield is already complicated but when you work on alternative universes, it makes you study so many different things/items/textures that's it's very rewarding in the end.

2- When you do create art, what materials do you use? Is all your art digital or do you use markers, paint, pencils, etc...?

What I draw is 95% digital art. I'm saying "95%" because sometimes, rarely, I go back to traditional art as you can see it here and here. I use digital art much more because, for me, it's more convenient: I can bring my iPad everywhere, I don't have to bring a sketchbook and my pencil in my bag, I don't have stacks of papers with sketches all over the house like 5-6 years ago. When I need to sketch, I just open Procreate and that's it.

To answer your question more precisely, I use Photoshop CS6 and a Xp-pen 15.6” tablet. I work on a computer running on Windows 10. I also have an iPad Pro (the one on which I use Procreate). When it comes to my old artworks, I also used Painter 12 but I don’t have the app on my new computer anymore and Procreate does the job very well so I really don’t need Painter 12 anymore.

As far as traditional artworks are concerned, I use mainly Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils as you can see it here.

You honestly just happened to be in the right place at the wrong time. You were lost, a bit confused and trying your best to get around town. You didn't think you'd be anywhere near a villain attack.

Your friend recognized the two instantly as a black hair man walked up to you.

"Hey, this one is cute."

"You really think I care about that?"

"No, but they're at least fun to look at."

The grey haired villain turned to look at you in annoyance and was pleasantly suprised.

Your face wasn't upsetting at all, he never thinks that about people but he actually found you really pretty. It's not like he's never seen a black person before, he just think's you're unique.

You thought the same about him. Even in this situation, his unbothered attitude was strangely, cute?

Dabi definitely clowned him for actually finding someone attractive.

After the initial shock of everything, you quickly grabbed everything you needed for class through the rubble and ran with your friend.

"Huh, they really stole all that shit huh? Must be really into stationary."

"There was an ID on their lanyard, they're a student."

"I didn't realize you were looking."

He said nothing but frowned with a grumble before moving on.

He acted as if it was nothing but quickly got all your information.

Kept tabs on your classes, where you were going, who you were with.

He creepy bruh.

You got a text from a strange number that cut straight to the chase.

"I saw you steal half the store worth in cold press paper and copics. Thought that was hot."

"Hello?????"

"I was with that ugly staple dude."

"Oh. Ain't you a villain?"

"I might be. You gonna block me or?"

"No, I respect the hustle. It's just not mine."

"Hmm, cool."

"So am I supposed to ignore how you got my number."

"Remember when you asked if I were a villain?"

"You're rude, anyway,,,"

It was awhile before you actually met him again in person. He settled for texting you and playing games since theres not too many place you can go to with someone as notorious as him.

Buys you games to play with him, if you ain't got a particular console expect it in the mail tomorrow.

Same with supplies. Charcoal? Done. Markers? It's yours. Paint? He's a little confused as to why you need that expensive ass Gouache, regardless, he's getting it for you.

When you guys do meet again he seems grouchy and upset, but really he has no idea how to communicate with you. He's not a dating person, or a person person so he didn't want to scare you off with his usual attitude and activities.

Dabi laughs at you two walking in. "Bruh she's too pretty for you, let the girl go."

"She came on her own actually"

"Oh you didn't have to kidnap this one?"

He rolls his eyes and looks at you "I've never kidnapped anyone, well, not for this purpose at least."

You laughed at his slightly nervous look, "like I said, I respect the hustle."

The league got used to seeing you around, you weren't necessarily part of the club but you helped with whatever you could and they appreciate your presence. (Plus you calm down your rude ass man so that's a plus)

He's also awkward, and a tad brash, but he means well. It's hard for him to say loving words, so sometimes his compliments come out weird.

"Why do you smell like that?"

"Uh? It's just this shea butter mix I-."

"Oh, well it smells okay."

"Okay..."

He'll act like affection is acid on his skin but with you he realizes he's quite touch starved. He won't initiate it, but if you start he won't stop you.

He's very demanding and not too understanding of anything school related. He the type to not understand that getting out of class at 3 doesn't mean you'll be at his door at 3:05.

Sometimes he'll just watch you work quietly. It may not seem like it means much, but it's a small way of showing that he cares. He still think college is ridiculous, but if it makes you happy he'll tolerate it.

Don't get it twisted tho, he's soft to you but he's not soft in general. Yes he's your boyfriend, your mass murderer boyfriend 😌.

No seriously, you're the exception, don't expect him to be too kind to anyone else lmao. It's just you.

Mixed media: Copic Markers, Himi Gouache, Prismacolor Colored Pencils, White Gel Pen, and Assorted Fine Liners

Full piece featuring my drow pirate captain Selwyn! Captain of the Banshee, Selwyn has quite the large quarters for him to rest in. Instead of a king sized bed though, he decided to have more room and a smaller place to sleep. Despite that however it is filled with lavish items that he either purchased or plundered. The captain is a kindhearted man, and this eventually leads him to persue a more honest line of work so he can stay and be with his beloved!

This piece took me about a week and was my first full background using only my new gouache set! It was so much fun and was inspired from a jack sparrow pin my bff got me! I had so much fun working with the new paint and it was such a good piece to try them out on ❤️❤️

"The Storyteller"

Here is the 3rd art piece for my “Countdown to Dragon Age Day” (which will be in December), where I plan on submitting artwork like this (for each playable character) every other Monday. If you could so kindly visit/view my previous Dragon Age fan arts, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, PLEASE let me know if you have done DA artwork as well, that way I can view it.

It's been a bit of a fun challenge to figure out what kind of background to create for each character. I am inspired by the DAI tarot artwork. Also, have you noticed I draw plants from DAI next to the names? With Inquisitor Bryony Trevelyan, it is Embrium. For Solas, it is Royal Elfroot. And for Varric, it is Dragonthorn!

I find Varric to be quite the intriguing character and he indeed brings comedic relief to the game (besides Iron Bull). I was so excited to see Varric the first time I played DAI, since I liked him in DA2. (I've played DAI twice!) His commentary is funny when using him in the battle party, especially the bantering between he and Cassandra:

Cassandra: How do you write as you do, Varric? I can never find the proper words.

Varric: You. Write. Really?

Cassandra: I've needed to describe events in reports. They always come off as...

Varric: Dry? Boring? Lifeless? Stale?

Cassandra: You... are an ass.

Varric: (Chuckling) Just... helping you find those words.

And one of the best between Varric & Iron Bull (which made me crack up):

Iron Bull: Hey, don't most dwarves have beards? Or at least mustaches or something?

Varric: I make up for it elsewhere.

And between Varric & Dorian:

Varric: I see you eyeing Bianca, Sparkler. Hands to yourself.

Dorian: I wouldn't worry, she's not my type.

Varric: Huh. And here I thought you're a man of refined taste.

Dorian: For fine wine and literature, Varric. Not for… whatever that contraption is.

Varric: Contraption!? Don't listen to him, sweetheart. His people are vilified for a reason.

Drawn with Sakura Pigma Micron pens, then coloured in with a mix of Copic Markers & Ohuhu Markers. White accents, crossbow bolts, & lines were done with a gel pen. The gold is Golden Paint acrylics, Font & glowing effect around the red lyrium was done in Photoshop Elements.

Gday guys!

I got a new set of copic markers in a range of skin colours (I think theres five or six markers in the pack) and you might have seen me use them on my ballgown girl a few days ago. I wanted to see what else they could do, so I decided to do a couple profiles.

First shot at it

I blew it (just a touch XD) overall the skin was too dark and I could no longer distinguish any clear facial features (not well anyways) so i had another go and...

A bit closer this time. It was going really well until I went to do the shading under the jawline, picked up the wrong pen by accident and did it WAY too dark XD (I seem to struggle with that a lot tbh - picking up pens or pencils that I didnt mean to lol)
