Hello again, Tyria (NA)! Back again is lavender pride Malyck and his trans pride wolf. Only this year, I dyed more mounts!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think turnout was a little lower this year, at least on my end/map (idk what I set my model limit to last year), but that didn't mean it was any less of a party!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually didn't see too many cosplays on Day 1, either. Doesn't mean they weren't there, though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some other familiar faces I saw again included @ependadrawsguildwars2, @pulledrosepetals, @commanderyes, @commander-titania, and... whoa, Laranity!? And some devs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had a great time hanging out with my friends!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@commanderyes @commander-titania @dalennaugw @hawkepockets @antariies @dasozelotvonnebenan @dreamersterrace @aleyannadenton
Unfortunately, because my chronic illness has decided it hates Tyria Pride specifically, I had to dip out before the end of the parade and missed the huge screenshot session with everyone in a big, nice group. Day 2 was better, though!
Tumblr media
Happy Pride, my friends! We'll meet again, someday.

I'm in the mood to ramble about some of my OCs. Here are four of my Nightmare Courtiers: Deturavil, Lanisera, Kehydin, and Vyranaveld
(Long wall of text below~)
First is Deturavil, the Duke of Hounds. Deturavil is a kennel master and raised many loyal Nightmare hounds within the Court. He chose to join the Court, mainly cus he was following Lanisera. Deturavil oversees all the Court in Brisban WIldlands and was the one responsible for forming the alliance with the Separatists and Inquest there. In my story, Ebon Knight Cariaddar is one of his personal Knights who represented the Court. Deturavil eventually left the Court when most of his Courtiers deserted and went with the Toxic Alliance. He now travels around Tyria with his four main hounds: Murra, Vukedas, Irensi, and Vilek. I based Deturavil after the Devil's Trumpet flower (a datura huehue~)
Next is Lanisera. She's a Duchess who looked up to and followed Faolain at the start of the Court. Lani specialized in scouting and recruiting potential Courtiers. She acts as a mentor in the Grove and seeks out Dreamers who aren't satisfied with life in the Grove and are striving for more. She has converted Dreamers into Courtiers without force, as that is her main goal. She detests the use of Nightmare conversion pods, as (in my story) they tend to really, really derange the minds of Sylvari. She was even more opposed to the use of the conversion pods when her prodigy was put into one in order to save his life. Lani follows Faolain to the jungle and nearly got turned into a Mordrem. After the events of HoT, she allies herself with Duchess Chrysanthea and the two slowly rebuild whatever can be salvaged of the Court. I based Lanisera on the marigold flower
Now, Kehydin. He was a Warden and he once had an older podtwin by the name of Iredyne. They were both stationed at the Hamlet of Annwen and used to patrol the Wychmire Swamp to weed out Courtiers and cut down Trolls. However, one day they went to Brisban Wildlands to negotiate the release of captured Dreamers, and they got ambushed by Inquest. Kehydin's podtwin was presumed killed, and Kehydin returned to the Grove, seeking the Pale Tree for some guidance or answer as to why these events happened. He didn't get an answer from the Pale Tree, so he joined the Court to search for the one who sold out his patrol to the Inquest. Kehydin gets kinda messed up cus of his 'Dearheart' Vy, who messes up his mind and makes him lost in old reveries. He goes with the Court to the jungle and gets turned Mordrem against his will. His fate is unknown at this time I didn't base Kehydin on any plant. He was kinda made on the spot.
And lastly, Vyranaveld. Vy was a very kind and soft mender who Lani picked up and trained. He was her prodigy and she wanted to coax him into the Nightmare slowly, but some events happened and he was put into a conversion pod. He came out as an unhinged sadomasochist. He became the Count of Pains and oversaw the Brokenhope Court in Sparkfly Fen. He was Kehydin's 'Dearheart' in which he manipulates and messes with his mind every chance he gets. Along with messing with anyone else's mind when they're in his proximity. Vy stayed loyal to his mentor, Lanisera. Up until they went to the jungle and the Elder Dragon awakened. He didn't hesitate to embrace the dragon and became a Legendary Mordrem. He eventually gets put down by Commander Roaj, Aurenthir, and Malyck. I based Vyranaveld on (specifically red) wildflowers

so we all know that other sylvari exist outside of the ones in central tyria, as it was all but confirmed with the all-but forgotten malyck in the sylvari personal story. Which, opens the door for some fun new species of sylvari -  far-north sylvari who develop pine like features and grow very tall. desert sylvari with actual cactus features and who grow broad and spikey. and  and like underwater sylvari.
Can you imagine the Commander, exploring the ocean like whats been teased so far and instead of finding like a new monster or villain, its just this rapidly expanding society of mermaid sylvari.
anemone sylvari. kelp sylvari. coral sylvari. glowy tails of coral. whole underwater societies complete with QUAGGAN!
theres also the whole side of like, understanding how far modremoths reach was. can you imagine norn trying to like reclaim their lost lands from Jormag and instead stumble upon Winter Mordrem. which is arguably unrealistic, since modremoth was the jungle dragon but like. evolution b weird like that.

My Guild Wars 2 headcanon concepts before the canon story rolls anything out:
Please reply with your headcanons/theories, I love reading them!
The Pale Tree/Sylvari
The Pale Tree never recovers, it's been 10 years and there has not been one update on her health, and SotO makes no mention of her recovery either, only Sylvari lost for purpose.
The newborn Sylvari have been severed from the Dream, they awake like Malyck, with no memories or connection to their people like Sylvari should. After years of trying to understand why and re-establish their connection, the Sylvari have to face facts: the Pale Tree is dying.
These new Sylvari, that I've dubbed the "Voiceless", are the last generation of Sylvari. So soon after their appearance in Tyria, the Sylvari are looking at the last of their kind.
But are they?
The Commander find Malyck, and go on a search for other trees like the Pale Tree, that maybe their connection to the Dream is lost, but it doesn't have to spell the end of their race. During this search, it's explored just how broken the Sylvari are - the nightmare court in shambles, the Soundless mostly either dead or disappeared, and just the Sylvari themselves completely directionless.
Jade Tech and the Inquest
Following the borders opening, Tyria, Elona, Ascalon and every race begin to indulge and become aware of jade tech as it gets introduced to the foreign market. Even after the Dragon's End disaster and Soo-Won's death, following the discovery of the ley-line, Jade tech continues to grow in demand as Tyria grows eager to become more technologically advanced.
The asura, arrogant sons-a-biches they are, aren't enjoying competition with another business, not used to having to share a playing field in Tyria. While the smarter of them are eager to adapt to the times and become a healthy competition to jade tech, the Inquest, armed with their usual amorality and a lot of funding, decide the only acceptable option is to drive the tech back to Cantha, and sabotage the Jade Crisis efforts being made.
The Commander and co. had heard of the inquest making waves again, particularly of them sabotaging ships and bugging the tech so it came off as faulty and unreliable, but it all finally kicks off into a power struggle of tech giants when the Emporess Ihn gets assassinated in Divinity's Reach after Queen Jenna wished to speak with her about modernizing the city further with Jade Tech and establishing more trade connections.
Initially the Inquest are the ones at fault but more Asura begin to buy into their propaganda, even ripples in the arcane council's the Inquest are still a recognized college and are allowed to make their waves in Rata Sum.
And Tyria sees a tech war for the ages, eventually leading to nuclear fallout in parts of Cantha and Tyria.
Give me my Asura expac dammit. They've not gotten enough attention.
More to come when I can be bothered to type it out.

Since RP is becoming less and less scary ive been considering Maelgwyn AUs that dont include major story characters and one that also doesnt include being an Elonian Sylvari.
I'll start with the second one because, I've thought about it less, since the game encourages non-pale tree sylvari through Malyck's existence.
I'll keep the abnormally large part of his design because it contributes to his own expierence with himself. (?) His stature, coloration, and generally creature-like traits contribute to his selfhate and how much he despises being seen as a monster. Which is his primary motivation for why he Does That One Thing that starts his journey. Being seen as a monster is why he becomes a bounty hunter. So if he's not in elona, what if bandit syndicate leader? Except, these ones are grey morals and tend to help out those in need by picking targets who have excess and will for sure be fine after the attack. People who can EASILY replace lost shipments. Thats an easy enough replacement for the desert beast thing.
undercooked tho because im pretty sure no one would be tooo mad about a Single Elonian sylvari. My main answer for Maelgwyn's desert tree not being involved is usually, the tree never recovers. He's the only one that's awakened, and rather than healing slowly and stabilizing, the tree dies a few weeks after he wakes.
The first AU is much more interesting to me because Maelgwyn starts pretty grey morals BUT. If he never meets Trahearne,,,,,,,, he gets worse. Because Trahearne is also a grey morals guy but after being pact marshal for so long his morals have shifted to be a lighter shade, which rubs off on Maelgwyn. But if he never meets and stays with Trahearne then his friends would likely be fellow bounty hunters and contacts in the trade syndicates that get along with The Desert Beast and i think thatd make him much more willing to do shit like say. Raid a syndicate hideout with his buddies for nicer drinks and such. The syndicate doesnt LIKE him ANYWAY, and they ARE too close to his turf SO is it rEEEAAALLY THAAT BAAAD. cmon man. its JUST for some better alcohol and theyre only gonna do it once. or twice. when they feel like it. its not like the bandits need the stuff anyway????????
and shit like that. If he never meets Trahearne he also doesnt heal. Not as much anyway. Because falling for your fucking client/charge was a FLUKE and NOT THE PLAN. Maelgwyn was still very much not ready to actually love someone again but thats what he THOUGHT he was. He stumbled across the right person, and fell in love with someone safe and understanding enough, who loved him BACK enough, to see through his difficult tendencies. So his self hate, self doubt, fear, and just. ALL of his mental health issues around falling in love and being vulnerable with other people sticks around. Because he never got a chance to organically unlearn any of it. Because he IS NOT gonna be the one who goes looking for love.
Absolutely not, you tell this man you love him four months into a casual romantic relationship, he is having a secret panic attack and ghosting.
If he falls in love with YOU and realizes it. Bye. Ghosting.
He's so not okay xd
He's okay with friends, for the most part, but chances are, you're still not getting through to his honest self. Everyone gets The Desert Beast. If you get to see Maelgwyn you are a LUCKY bastard, this man masks and hides his real self SO MUCH.

Late posting, but here's some pics from Pride! \o/ I had a lot of fun with friends, & spotting cosplayers, & riding the turtle chair through the march.
in that 1st pic; you'll see one of my friends cosplaying as "Madeline of Celeste". He had switched between Madeline & a Devil May Cry character through the march. I also will always love "Ace Rights Wizard", "Pan Rights Paladin", "Bi Rights Berserker", etc. Also spotted "Malyck of the Lost", that was fun! Anyway, I stop gushing now. o/

warning: tybalt slander :) and some complaining about the (lack of) other mentors content. major spoiler for LWs3 (head of the snake episode), maybe some minor spoils for PS/IBS
uh unpopular opinion but i think it would have been better if demmi saw her mother when she was dying instead of tybalt. even though we didnt know her mother when we first meet demmi (in whispers storyline), she is wearing her mother's necklace which indicates significance of the object.
"but not everyone played whispers story how would they know about the necklace?"
well not everyone played whispers story and yet we get tybalt ALL THE TIME. weapon/armor stats? tybalt. demmi fucking dies? tybalt. 10 years later an event where a random charr cook mentions apples? of course there is a tybalt reference!
"it's only 3 times! you must really hate tybalt!"
it's not like i hate tybalt. i think he is a nice character, i really do! he was my very first mentor, too, so there is a special place for him among the blorbos from my games. but you know. idk about other countries, but in mine we have a saying "co za dużo to niezdrowo" which could be roughly translated to "too much is unhealthy". because tybalt is the mentor which gets the most content from the fanbase and is the only mentor to get attention in-game, he really lost the charm he originally had (just my opinion, not a fact).
i think we deserve sieran and forgal content. I was really disappointed when Forgal wasn't mentioned in IBS despite there being grounds for it. I MEAN IT'S NOT LIKE HIS FATHER WAS THE LAST OX SHAMAN YOU KNOW. And Sieran? I couldn't think of anything, so I checked the wiki and wow, there really is NOTHING! Well, it we don't count the Magister Field Journal - an accessory item that is SPECULATED to have belonged to her (based on a vague description).
i really really REALLY want to message anet and ask if they remember about sieran and forgal.
and as a sylvari main, i'd also like to ask where the fuck malyck is and if when the fern hound jackal skin will be released.

"Don't make me do this" for whoever it'd hurt most from :3c
@mystery-salad
I wrote this and then COMPLETELY forgot. to actually post it. Wow @ me, good lord al;sdjf. But here it is now; have a fic for ya! :3 (And thanks a bunch for the ask!!)
Warnings: HoT spoilers, nightmares
There’s someone in front of Kerra.
She’s in a dark room. Vines curl up towards the ceiling, slowly moving from side to side. Mist swirls around her and the stranger—no. She looks closer. The stranger is the mist, their body fluid, their face changing.
It’s Tiachren first, with his sword and his thorns and his shield. Canach next, eyes glowing, like the mockery of him in Mordremoth’s mind. Nisha, taller than xe should be—a Mordrem Guard, brokenly laughing.
The figure becomes Rel. Then Caithe. Then Laranthir. Then Malyck. Mordremoth’s voice booms out above the continuing laughter, loud and demanding.
KILL THEM.
She’s holding Caladbolg, she realizes—still broken, the jagged blade inexplicably shining like broken glass. She begins to move forward, slow but steady, against her will.
I won’t do this, she tries to say, but her voice won’t come.
OBEY.
Stop. No. I won’t, never, never, never, NEVER.
I AM THIS WORLD. YOU WILL OBEY. KILL THEM.
She’s directly in front of the person, now.
It’s Trahearne, wrapped in vines, gaze pleading and tired and lost.
You’re alive, you’re alive, I saved you, this isn’t real, stop it, stop it, stop—
He opens his mouth, and his voice and Mordremoth’s speak in unison: “KILL ME.”
No. No. Don’t make me do this.
Her arms rise, taking Caladbolg with them.
I won’t, I won’t, no, no, no—
“—NO!”
Kerra’s eyes fly open just before the sword plunges down, her chest heaving. It takes her a moment to get her bearings.
She’s alone, in her tent, in the too-warm air of Ember Bay—well, almost alone. The blankets rustle, the cot shifts, and Poppy’s face looms over Kerra’s.
<Awake,> the smokescale says through their bond, tapping Kerra irritably with her tail. <Scared. Threat? Fight?>
<Dream,> Kerra replies, reaching out to scratch Poppy under the chin. The smokescale lets out her trademark chitter-purr, leaning into Kerra’s shaky hand. <Dream. Safe. Sorry.>
“Commander?” a quiet voice calls from outside, and Kerra jumps, swearing under her breath. Poppy growls. “It’s Ulaa. Are you all right? Do you require assistance?”
“No,” Kerra says, her voice raspy. She pauses, coughing to clear her throat. “No,” she repeats. “Thank you for checking on me, Ulaa. I apologize if I woke you up.”
Ulaa huffs, her weary amusement and relief palpable. “You’ve done more to keep this expedition intact than anyone. A disrupted sleep cycle won’t cause permanent damage.”
“Thanks anyway,” Kerra says. “Good night, Ulaa.”
“‘Night, Commander,” the researcher replies, her footsteps retreating.
Kerra exhales heavily, her heartbeat finally slowing a little. Poppy’s growls stop, and she curls up against Kerra’s side.
<Sorry,> Kerra says again.
<No sorry,> Poppy mutters grumpily. <Sleep. Silly plant.>
Kerra laughs quietly, letting her eyes fall closed. When sleep finally does return to her, it’s alongside happier memories, far away from fear and jungles and dragons.

Name: Nafiona, Duchess of the Nightmare Court
Nafiona was birthed from her pod from the Pale Tree during the cycle of Night. She didn’t have a wyld hunt, instead her dream showing her the world as a dark and mysterious place. Her early years in the Grove were filled first with the traditional study of the tenants of Ventari’s tablet, but later turned to the dark arts of magic and necromancy. Her studies into the realms of the afterlife did not go unnoticed. Grand Duchess Faolain of the Nightmare Court took notice and had Nafiona brought before her. Faolain offered her a place in the Court, which Nafiona gladly accepted, finally being free from the Pale Tree and the words of Ventari. Nafiona served the court well, recruiting sylvari saplings to the Courts cause and using her cunning and ruthlessness to rise up through the ranks, finally being awarded the title of Duchess. She formed her own arm of the Court, setting out to cause mayhem and discourse in the growing sylvari population in Caledon Forest.
During Scarlet Briar’s campaign against Tyria, Nafiona and her group were assigned to Scarlet’s Toxic Alliance by Faolain. Nafiona protested the reassignment arguing that such a thing was beneath her station, but finally relented and stubbornly agreed. While stationed in Kessex Hills, her courtiers oversaw the krait that helped build Scarlet’s Tower of Nightmares in Viathan Lake. When the duchess finally figured out what Scarlet’s plan was for such a tower, she took it upon herself to harvest the poisonous spores for possible future use. When the Pact Commander, along with Marjory Delaqua and Kasmeer Meade, assaulted the tower, and the Lionguard and Pact forces routing the krait and Toxic Alliance, Scarlet Briar fled the area, abandoning the tower and the Alliance. Nafiona, along with a handful of courtiers, managed to escape capture.
After the fall of the Nightmare Tower, Nafiona retreated to a secluded area of the Tarnished Coast. She managed to procure the help of other members of the Court to help study and reengineer the spores from the giant toxic plant. She vowed revenge on Scarlet Briar for leaving her and her courtiers to the Lionguard. During this time, she rebuilt her part of the Nightmare Court, recruiting the sylvari Ordhram and his siter Orla. Ordhram was a sylvari of above average built, standing much taller than the average sylvari, with an increased musculature.
During the rise of Mordremoth, Nafiona was forced to move her courtiers to a location farther east, away from the Maguuma Jungle. The calls of the jungle dragon were much too strong, causing some of her group to head into the jungle. Ordhram had started to change as well, large sections of his skin growing tougher as his appearance started resembling the Mordrem Guard. It was at this time that the Priory scholar Thaddeus Sheeran who approached the duchess with the rumor that another seed, one like from which the Pale Tree had sprouted, may exist in Maguuma Jungle within the lair of the Jungle Dragon. The seed could be used to reunite the fractured Nightmare Court, which had splintered after the death of Grand Duchess Faolain. Nafiona commanded her courtiers make preparations for an excursion into the jungle once Mordremoth had fallen.
During this journey, she would have multiple meetings with Scarlet Briar, herself looking for the rumored seed. Nafiona’s group would find the seed, which had already been found by Scarlet Briar. After a small confrontation, Nafiona procured the seed and returned to Twilight Arbor in a bid to reunite the Court under her banner. Her plan would be cut short by an attack by Scarlet Briar and a group of allies. During the battle, the rogue sylvari Malyck would appear and steal the seed away. Nafiona, realizing the seed as well as the battle is lost, retreated.
She would take up residence in an upscale apartment in Divinity’s Reach along with Thaddeus, who she had become seemingly romantically involved with. He tells her about the branded crystal storing an “Aspect of Mordremoth” that had been captured and is now being stored in the depths of the Priory vaults. He informs her that the aspect contains a corrupted part of Scarlet’s mind, and if she were to free it, she could exact her revenge on Scarlet Briar and bend the Pale Tree to her will. She tells him to formulate plan to acquire the crystal.
Before Thaddeus could initiate the plan, he is sent to the kingdom of Elona to help gather and study artifacts from the lich king Palawa Joko’s kingdom. He finds an amulet containing desert sand imbued with residual necromantic magic from Joko himself. He finds the trinket was used to quickly awaken fallen troops on the battlefield but had limited uses. He sends the amulet back to Divinity’s Reach to Nafiona who begins studying the artifact extensively. She modifies the magic to allow her to resurrect the long deceased and uses the amulet to raise Priory Magister Sieran from the beach of Claw Island. She raises Pale Reaver Tegwen from the Alter of Tempests in Orr and raises Courtier Ordhram from the halls of Twilight Arbor, along with other fallen sylvari. Twisting them to Nightmare’s will, Nafiona sets them out to acquire the branded crystal from the priory vaults. After a protracted operation, the crystal is brought before her. She takes it to a secluded ruin in the Shiverpeak mountains, where she removes the wards and cracks the crystal, freeing the Aspect from its prison. Nafiona very quickly realizes the being within is much too powerful to control. The Aspect grants her freedom, but warps her courtiers into branded forms of the Mordrem Guard. The Aspect then tranforms before her into a dragon form that resembles a mixture of Mordremoth and Kralkatorrik. It then commands Nafiona to bring Scarlet Briar before it.
Nafiona and her group depart the ruins in a bid to capture Scarlet, but sadly fail. Her courtiers are killed and Nafiona is forced to flee. She is currently slowly rebuilding her group of courtiers and only time will tell what her next plans are.

for the writing prompts, have ❝  i can’t help but think there’s got to be something out there for me,  somewhere.  just some place where i actually feel like i belong.  ❞ for whoever it fits! :) @kerra-and-company
i pondered really strongly.... and decided to write malyck and naomh rosalus belongs to @salad-tales, set during late season 2, Jungle Scion AU
All he felt was loss. Distance. He couldn’t place it, what that was. Where it came from. But… Most surely, if he felt it, that meant he came from somewhere. Didn’t it?
Malyck sighed heavily, dropping his hand to his side. Ah- It hit someone else’s? His attention finally turned, looking to see the purple scholar sitting beside him. She offered a smile, moving her hand to take his, cradle it gently.
“I don’t need to be able to feel your emotions to know you’re distressed,” she whispered. That disconnection felt deafening… That his loves could feel each other, everything… And he couldn’t.
“I feel that loss… It feels so much stronger.”
Her smile fell, her other hand lifted to gently brush some leaves back behind his ear. Naomh, his darling Naomh… Such a sweet one.
“We can only assume you’re sensing your Mother. Maybe siblings, if you have any. Have you felt anything else? Other than the loss and distance?”
“No… I-I just… I… I want to find them… Sitting here-” he gestured out to the camp, the norn and charr shouting and Trahearne in the distance, working so diligently, “They feel closer than ever. I want to run off and find them. They could be in danger.”
“And that’s exactly why you have to wait,” she said urgently, “You know Laranthir and I can’t lose you. And Rosalus would be devastated if we lost you while he’s so far away. Trust Trahearne. You’ll be on the fleet, Laranthir will happily join you.”
“I… I can’t help… Thinking there’s somewhere out there for me. Somewhere… Just- Just some place I’ll actually feel like I belong.”
“Out in the jungle?” he nodded, “And… do you not feel you belong with us?”
“There’s something missing… But I love you. I do. I just- I… need to…”
“I know, Malyck… I know my dear.” she leaned closer, kissed his nose with a peck, “Just wait a little longer.”

Alright, so thoughts about the assistant commanders (Names are Placeholders and stories are not final because it's hard to decide on a given story path when there are always so many good options):
Lord Fenquin, the Hero of Shaemoor is a close friend of Lord Faren and aids Logan Thackeray in fighting the white mantle that is infiltrating Krytan Politics. An excellent swordfighter and apt sneaky person. Joins the Order of Whispers. I'm not saying that he, Demmi and Lord Fared form an excellent team of superspies because they would be better without Faren. Unfortunately that guy just has the uncanny ability of showing up in places you didn't expect, which in this case means their missions. Fenquin isn't doing much fieldwork with the pact until Heart of Thorns where he accompanies Faren on his jungle adventures that ultimately lead to Dragon's Stand.
1325 Snaff-Price winner Posh. Their revolutionary interspatial translocator earned them the title of Snaff-Savant and the determination with which they beat up the inquest earned them Zojjas respect. Professor Gorr'a finding are deeply deeply worrying to them and they join up with the Durmand Priory at the first possibility. With the founding of the pact, Posh comfortably settles themselves as head of r&d. Briefly goes rogue during season 1 and helps scarlet create the steam creatures (because the infinity ball story is just too cool to not make an appearance here) but realises they are on the bad side when Scarlet starts obliterating Lions Arch. They have lost trust however and so they involuntarily avoid going down with the pact fleet in maguuma, instead moving in afterwards alongside the commander.
Yorg the Slayer of Issormir is a Norn rich in strength, size and hidden cunning. His renowned party trick of smashing rocks is more attributed to clever use of elemental magic than pure muscle. He is determined to fulfill the prophesy and destroy the dragons tooth, but does not shy away from asking for help in this endeavor. Thus he makes many allies amongst other races, like Jotun, Charr and Grawl. Ultimately none of them offered the power to achieve his goal (tho I would love to see the faces of everyone when he drove that charr tank into the great hall), but by that point he was so well known for beating up sons of svarnir that the vigil approached him and asked if he would like to work for them. He gladly accepted and would quickly turn his fame into rank. He was among the soldiers who retook claw island which is where he met Valoop for the first time. Pretty much plays second fiddle to the commander from there on.
Legionnaire Ruck Steelforge lost most of his warband fighting Barradin and, in true Iron Legion manner, rebuilds it through shooting ghosts with his newly developed ghostbore rifle. He works with the blood legion on developing artillery based on the design and later with the sentinels to adapt the cannons to work on branded. Though it proved impossible to convert the weapons from ghost to branded destroying their raw explosive power still proved to effectively annihilate groups of branded creatures. The Vigil, who had kept a close eye on Sentinel operations, were interested in getting these guns for their own dragon bashing business and offered Ruck and his warband to join them. Ruck accepted and would proceed to develop and operate artillery and defensive structures for the vigil and later the pact. He had a huge hand in the construction of Fort Trinity, worked with Posh on developing the Pact Megalasers and was the one who turned Zojjas plans for the MEGA-LIT cannon into a working weapon.
The Valiant Aluen born with the very vague wyld hunt of "uncovering hidden knowledge" which has her repeatedly run into the Knight of Embers, which seems to be drawn to the same things as her. When Malyck shows up both Aluen and the Knight of Embers recognize his importance. They discover his origins through the help of Amaranda the Lonesome. Aluen manages to kill the Knight before she can tell the other courtiers about the discovery, though only by donning Bercilak's green armor which is still tainted by nightmare which cuts her off from the dream and thus ends her wyld hunt. Left without a clear purpose she elects to stay with Trahearne and help him fullfil his wyld hunt.

22,25 and 21 of the hc ask!
You got it! :3
21. Mallyck. Other Trees. Mordremoth’s blighting trees… Are the Sylvari not unique?
That’s a tricky question! Are they unique in being plant-based life that grew from a magical tree born from a seed Mordremoth created and sent out? No not in the slightest! We know canonically there’s at least one other grown tree which is Malyck’s, and the pale tree’s seed was “found in a cave containing many others like it” (straight from the wiki). There are any number of trees that have or will grow to produce their own variety of planty beings of various shapes and dispositions and community styles! One of my favorite things about the sylvari is the potential this exact aspect can lead to, and I’ve actually got my own fully fleshed out tree I’ve got set up in several of my canon universes within Tyria. And I’m sure plenty of other people do as well!
Now, are sylvari unique in how they specifically have developed? Absolutely!!! The pale tree was so specifically cultivated, planted by a warrior on a mass grave, tended to as a sprout by him and his gay centaur husband who in turn wrote a lovely set of morals for the tree to abide by and to grow her children around. The sylvari form was even designed specifically after the human warrior who helped raise the Pale Tree, meaning even the humanoid shape is not a guarantee among the seeds found in that cave. There exists endless potential to be shaped by whatever environment each tree can grow in, and no two trees, no matter how similar, will ever match perfectly. The sylvari themselves are a unique creation.
22. Humans are canonically aliens. What weird differences are there between humans and native Tyrian beings.
Got this one answered!
25. Horses
An extinct (or nearly extinct) species from Tyria’s not too distant past! Think along the lines of the thylacine, many people know it existed and have seen pictures of it, but we have no clue what they sounded like and of their natural behavior. We knew they existed, and one could get the form and basic movements right if describing or recreating them in art, but past that they’re an enigma. Similarly, there’s rumors of horse sightings occasionally. People hoping they’ve found a remnant herd that survived and was simply so sparse it escaped detection for decades!
This is why we can still see art or hear of horses throughout Tyria, they existed and are well known, and once upon a time some races would use them as mounts or found them handy for pulling carts, but now have found alternatives to replace the long lost species.

For the notebook/journal ask: Rosalus about Almorra and Malyck, Olli about Sariel - moonlit-grove
Thank you friend! @moonlit-grove
Unfortunately I can not add read more's anymore so here you go.
Rosalus on Almorra
The start of their relationship was harsh. Rosalus was among the founders of the Vigil and he was not very happy to leave the leading position to her. Particularily because he used to be not very fond of being told what to do.
Though when the moment presented itself, she showed him off and proved once and for all to him that her experience from being raised into military among the Charr, made her a better leading candidate. (Until the Lion's Arch catastrophy)
She offered him the spot as her second, which he denied and suggested Laranthir whom he had known for a while by that point in time. However the cherry was gladly working under them.
However after the ordeal with the attack on LA and Trahearne stripping the order leaders of their authority to give orders in his name, he had lost quite a bit of respect. If the pact had not helped defend LA, a lot more people could have died than already did.
In the end, she was far from a bad person. Sometimes she.. was too focused on something she wanted, to notice something she was needed for.
Rosalus on Malyck
Rosalus was stationed in the Grove, when he was approached by firstborn Trahearne who had some concerning news. Being happy to get away from persuading saplings all day, he made his way to check on the rumors of the so called harbinger.
The moment he met Malyck, he felt something. He absolutely didn't know what but something.
And that something ended up becoming love. Which he only realized after Malyck was saved and bid his goodbye to find his own family.
After a stern talking-to from his friend Naomh and a letter to Laranthir stating he will be gone for a while, he set out to find the foreign Sylvari.
Something inside him told him to be there. Maybe a wyld hunt, maybe just intuition. They don't really know, but they don't care anymore either.
Rosalus loves Malyck. Deeply. He adores and cherishes him even if it can get a little unnerving at times when he's having trouble with understanding. But he's learning fast, so that was part of the past quite quickly, even though it still happens occasionally.
Oleander on Sariel
The short answer? He hates her.
The long one? He hates her with a passion. For causing his count so much trouble and headaches. And for being a pain in the ass in general.
He would have loved to be the one who slayed her.
