I was very honored to have been invited by @kenmarlenn to rejoin the reanimated PMV Collab “Control” for Who killed Markiplier.

This is the sequence I was responsible for in the new and the original video. It’s pretty amazing to see my own progress like this. I definitly learned a lot these past years. Thank you for having me back to work on such a great project. It was lots of fun.

#I thought this movie was really cute and charming in a lot of ways #also I love Bruce Campbell's look in this one so much I had to draw him #I wanted to make him really warm to contrast her vampiric appearance which is more or less what they do in the movie #although he's pretty gray #I also like the costume designer's attention to detail like everyone is dressed more or less like they would be at the time they died #and a vampire western is just one of those ideas you pull from a hat that sound insane and are #but anyway charming film! I watched it twice this year! Then what! It's full on youtube so it's easier #I feel like she looked more like the actress in the sketch ALSO her actress played Muffy in April Fools Day????!#I fucking love that movie so much and Muffy is my girl she's like such an insane genius I love her to death #that movie is like a very long Are You Afraid of the Dark episode and this movie is a fairy tale with vampires. Oh my gosh I am so impatient 😭 anyways another little traditional comic test using my copics and stuff. This is where the dads meet a certain musician. Can you guess which one?

It’s funny cuz I wanted to buy a spiral sketchbook for this type of stuff and I got two for $10, plus they were 40% off. And then I got new liners cuz mine were dying for $7 and THOSE were also 40%. I spent a total of $12 which is a HUGE deal. Unfortunately the quality isn’t as good with the sketchbooks 😅 as you can see, the copics reeeeally bled into the lineart so that is gonna be a challenge, but it’s not biggie! It’s not meant to look perfect anyway! Maybe I need a thicker line but for now I must suffer

Anyways the dads are so silly to me. I love them. Leon is kind of a pain to deal with here, but you’ll understand why soon enough. He has a reason he’s acting this way 🤌

#definitely a challenge but I’m trying to make the backgrounds detailed enough but also simple enough #if they’re too detailed the characters blend in #if they’re not detailed enough the characters stand out too much #I like the background #grayscale is so nice #idk I kinda like this traditional way of doing comics #the dads are getting easier and easier to draw #strangers across eras #sae Rusl #sae Leon #sae Linebeck #sae Ammon #sae talon #traditional crap #I messed up on the lighting a couple of times 😭😭

i don't dislike the concept of AUs itself, I'm just not a fan of like... the subculture that spawned around them in the UT fandom specifically and how it eventually took over almost all canon content (especially when it limits itself to the bros)

i like aus visually! i am an artist at heart after all. it's just that, if I'm going to care about them as stories and not just fun design ideas, my bar is uhh almost impossibly high the further you move from canon lolol.

#uf being one of those! the story is centered on certain characters (mainly asgore) behaving very ooc #so as a stickler for canon I don't have much interest in it #but there is a very clear visual idea and motif in the redesigns that ties every character together very efficiently #and also fucks like a rabid rhino #so i can appreciate its visual/aesthetic aspects instead #i mean you can't understate the impact that good *artists* specifically had on the proliferation of aus back in the day #good writing is almost inseverable from good characterization because dialogues and characterization ARE an integral part #of what makes writing good. while good art (as much as it too is tied to its own conventions) is free-er from the bounds of accuracy #as was as being easier & faster to consume. writing has to be read first. you can just look at a piece of art and go ''wow that looks sick''#without thinking about logical details/accuracy #you can show a pic of sans to an artist who's never touched the game and they might draw you the most gorgeous piece of art you've ever seen #it's significantly harder to do for writing #swap aus are a fun design challenge to see how you'd incorporate different aspects of some characters visual signatures into another #it's a game of translation of sorts. but if you want to treat it like a story well... the matter becomes a lot more complicated #answered asks #au tag

#orv #omniscient reader's viewpoint #secretive plotter #art tag #ink #i wanted to draw the Plotter crying but i realized that with the silhouette i. i didn't know where his eyes were #but anyways yeah it's a lot easier to get the image i want digitally #especially that border #very important #it's implied in the original post but i felt like drawing it traditionally would make it stand out too much.#the original drawing is smaller than my palm. no room for details really #i was wondering whether i should have one of his claws reaching beyond the border but just his elbow is enough #the file name for this is 'holy elbow' because of that and because the origin of the light rays is the white hand's elbow.#as for who the white hand is #well they're drawing him out. you can interpret that sentence in a number of ways #but they're definitely not a part of his canvas. not drawn in the same ink. but their presence or lack thereof is felt #and maybe by his reaching for that person he begins to fill the empty space in their world #maybe by becoming a constellation they can share space on the canvas with him

#my art stuff #digital art #baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #astarion #astarion ancunin #this is part of a series I like to call “I’m never settling on a singular detailed artstyle”#I have no consistency in drawing realistic people/characters other than my shapy cartoon style #but I truly don’t get enough opportunity to properly shade anything with art in that style-!!! it always looks weird to me-!!!!!#I think some rude lil worm in my brain is wriggling around telling me it’s a futile attempt at still doing realism #cus I’m one of those “gifted” artists that grew up promising his parents he’ll end up among the big names or whatever #constantly training to become better at art but with realism oil paintings as the goal #you know how it is 😔#I wanna shade my lil funky designs but they never feel good enough to really put energy into or whatever so I compromise with stuff -#- like this where I try to draw characters more accurately while still stylizing them and shading them however I feel like it #which is great and all but I should really learn to give my more relaxed and less perfectionist art a chance #I deserve to enjoy the process and the result without working myself dead #it’s so much easier and rewarding to copy cartoon styles - stylizing realism makes me too anxious of doing it “wrong”#at least cartoon styles give me a goal to reach or a reference to strive towards #man I really should just cut myself some slack altogether #either way - this man is a flustered mess and he’s embarrassed about being called adorable in public or something #being teased in an affectionate way about his sweeter side and stuff #don’t ask why he’s shirtless - anatomy is just a lot more fun for me to draw sometimes #tasteful nudity and all that is extremely gorgeous to me #i need to practice anatomy more cus I just kinda did some shit and went with it this time with a BIT of consideration for muscle structure

Wip of Luthien for an art class, it's been way too long since I've properly drawn her.

Can't decide if I should give her short hair (easier, my typical post-Beren design) or commit to my vague ideas of timeline and try to draw it long. Also even though her tunic thing is purely for the sake of approximating something like her normal outfit while showing off her lovely limbs that I worked so hard to draw, I spent way too much time figuring out how it could be constructed in one piece

I don't think I've drawn her hands since deciding on what they look like before, but she has Long Creepy Talons and two thumbs and I love them. I am also succumbing to my rule of cool and am going to try giving her a tail.

How do you price your Ko-Fi request? I can't find it and I'm new to using the site.

ill try to say this all as clearly as possible but if you need further clarification, you can just ask! i generally do these by the amount time they take me for the money im given.

the price of a kofi is set to £4, which is the price for a standard request (a clean sketch, minimal coloring, preferably no more than two characters), if you tip one ko-fi at £4 and the request idea, thats what ill do.

if you tip me more ko-fis than that, i usually do a small comic around the idea. i try to add a panel per kofi, so if you sent me two kofis, totalling £8, id do you a two panels comic. if you give 4 kofis, id try to do a 4 panel comic.

occasionally i cant actually think of a comic for a request (i do try, but sometimes i can spend hours trying to come up with something and theres just no ideas there). if i cant think of anything, ill do the request as a more detailed, probably colored single illustration, which will take me around the same amount of time as a much less detailed comic would.

if you only wanted to send the one tip of £4, thats perfectly fine, and i wont do a comic for that, just the one picture.

im pretty open about this though so if you wanted to send a couple of kofis and the req and ask that it be a single illustration, id do that. most people send me an idea/prompt style request, examples of ones ive done before being 'macaque and wukong raiding the fridge at 2am' 'mei biting someone, you can choose the context',

but if you have something slightly more specific that that, thats okay too! ive also done some oc illustrations, and am open to doing specific designs for characters as well.

#ask #reqs #shark talks #the reason i do reqs rather than commissions is to give myself a bit of leeway. comic commissions are very difficult because unless someone #you have to come up with the actual situation #comedy beats #style of drawing #dialogue #and punchline yourself. i wouldnt want to do that and have someone unsatisfied #so i give myself that bit of creative freedom by making them requests rather than commissions so i can make something that fits my style #(since comms usually require more input from the person giving u the money.#its generally much easier for me if someone just gives me their prompt and leaves me to create what i want from it #and i find it usually produces better results)#usually time is the main factor i price things by #i know with a fair amount of accuracy how long stuff will take me so a single detailed illustration and a less detalied short comic will #take about the same amount of time
